Forgotten Future

Chapter Two

An Impossibly Familiar Face

Passing out twice in as many days was generally a cause for concern. So it was natural that Rias was currently incredibly worried for her younger half brother. Gaara had always been a bit thinner and smaller after suffering from a strange illness as a little boy.

It was part of why she was so attached to him now. Seeing her sibling so weak and vulnerable back then had brought every bit of the typical Gremory love and affection to bear in her chest when she had been nothing more than a little girl. Such feelings never truly faded or diminished either.

They were especially not fading right now as she paced back and forth trying to figure out what to do. The little nun that had found her brother and tried to help him still didn't realize who or rather what she and Gaara were. The fact she was so dense was a miracle in and of itself, but the fact that she had jumped straight to the rescue of Gaara did win her a few points in Rias opinion. It wasn't enough though.

Her instinct was to kill the girl or at least send her away, but she had found her as she was caring for Gaara who clearly hadn't recovered from his episode the night before. That meant of course that she couldn't simply deal with her. Maybe if she wiped her memory, but the healing ability she had shown was nothing short of a sacred gear, and Rias was certain of that much.

The heiress just hoped she could figure out what to do before anyone outside her peerage realized that she currently had a nun staying as a 'guest' in her clubhouse. Though that might be a lost cause.

Makima hadn't left Gaara's side since he had been found. Rias was displeased about that. Not so much that Makima was staying beside Gaara in his time of need. That normally made her quite happy. Makima was of course an excellent Queen and dutiful peerage member for her younger brother.

However the girl was not content with simply staying by his side. Oh no. Makima had slipped under the sheets with Gaara the moment they put him into bed under the pretense of sharing her energy and healing him as best as she could from whatever afflicted him. Rias couldn't argue against that technically. She knew that wasn't the only reason Makima was doing so though. The older girl had made plenty of a show about stripping herself and Gaara to supposedly expand their skin to skin contact if he needed more healing.

"Doesn't even work like that for mental trauma or whatever is bothering him." Rias grumbled.

"You know you could go join them. I doubt Gaara would mind. Perhaps I could come too." Akeno teased from where she stood beside Rias' desk.

"Not in the mood right now, Akeno." Rias bit out causing her queen to giggle a bit but hold her hands up to ward off any incoming lecture.

"We have bigger things to worry about then the fact that your little brother and his queen are definitely playing together from time to time." Akeno reminded her while nodding toward the hallway, down which the nun was currently staying.

"Shut up. They are not." Rias insisted.

"Sure." Akeno humored her master before clearing her throat. "We still need to worry about our guest, Rias."

"I know. What do you think I was planning before you interrupted my train of thought?"

"About how well Gaara's body fits up against Makima's?"

"Shut up, Akeno." Rias snapped once again.

The queen just giggled before turning her head to the door as the two redheads they had been speaking about entered. True to his normal form, Gaara cared little about things many others would consider normal, like shame. It seemed Makima had managed to get him into a pair of loose fitting shorts at least, while the young woman herself was still buttoning up her shirt and wearing only a thin silk piece for underwear.

"Is she still here?" Gaara asked rather than greet them at all.

"Who, the nun? Did she do this to you Gaara? What happened. Explain-" Rias began only to stop when her brother seemed to pivot in place to stare down the hall to where the nun was waiting in another room.

"I can sense her still in the building. Did you harm her or anything Rias?" He had no reprimand or even heat to his voice but his words still brought her up short.

"N-no. I gave her some food and drinks and let her rest in another room while we waited for you to wake up. She seemed to be trying to heal you when we arrived. I haven't decided what to do with her yet. I wanted you to tell me what happened first."

Gaara stared down the hall for a moment before turning to look at Rias again. He seemed thoughtful as if selecting his words was taking him a bit of difficulty.

"She didn't do anything to me. I don't know what happened though." He said.

"Well that's a relief at least. Still Maybe you should still be resting then. I'll wipe the girl's memory and drop her off somewhere safe then we can call father and tell him you might be getting sick." Rias said as she moved toward the door only for Gaara to block her way.

"No. I'm going to make her part of my peerage." Gaara said simply as if it was not a completely shocking statement.

"What do you mean? She's a nun, she is part of the church-"

"I don't care. I saw a…it doesn't matter I'm making her part of my peerage. Stay here. Makima make sure Rias stays here with Akeno." Gaara commanded in a rare show of authority over his queen.

Makima said nothing but stepped immediately into position to block Rias from following after her king. The younger redhead glared at the woman who simply smiled at her.

"Forgive me, Lady Rias, but above all I follow Gaara." Makima said simply.

Rias rolled her eyes at the smirk the other redhead had. She was taking far too much joy in the situation.

Gaara made his way toward the room with their guest before thinking better of it and getting dressed first. He wondered why no one had brought up the fact that he was underdressed earlier. Makima had been as well. He would need to remind her about the importance of carrying themselves with a certain level of respect.

That was all for later though, right now, he needed to risk meeting with the girl he had been knocked out by. Even if it wasn't her that had actually done it and more just a vision of her.

He was still confused as to how he'd even gotten a vision of her, but he knew one thing for certain. He wanted her in his peerage. Not only because of the fact that she would clearly save his life some time, but because he could feel his own emotions in that brief moment. Emotions that were hard to name and pin down, but that he had felt potently before. Only for people like Rias and Makima though.

This nun was important to him, and he didn't know how, but he did know one thing without even asking for some reason.

"Hello, Asia Argento." He said flatly as he stepped into the room causing the teen girl to jolt suddenly in her chair and fall quite literally on her face.

"Ow…" She moaned slightly as she slowly climbed to her feet and rubbed at the red mark on her forehead.

"Are you alright?" Gaara asked, surprised by the ability to fall so hard from a sitting position.

"Oh, I'm quite fine. I'm even better seeing that you are up and around again. Thank god for healing your condition so quickly." She said before pausing as Garra winced.

"Oh forgive me. I forgot your kind can't be around prayer." She said with a blush and an apologetic look in her eyes before she blinked. "Um, how did you know my last name?"

Gaara opened his mouth for a moment before closing it again. He turned his head to the side for a moment before asking his own question. "You knew we were devils?"

"Oh, yes. I've met one before. He was also hurt and I healed him…I don't regret it but that's why I'm here in Japan actually." Asia said with a small smile.

"I see. Your church sent you far away from its center of power." Gaara nodded. It made sense, she had technically helped their enemy. A devil would be lucky to not be publicly humiliated or worse for such an action.

"Not exactly." The girl replied clearly feeling a bit of pain from this discussion. Even Gaara picked up on her discomfort and changed topics.

"You may not believe me, but I knew your name, your full name because I think I saw you in a vision of the future. You and I were close and you were saving my life."

The girl blinked at the incredibly blunt reveal and even stepped back, accidentally knocking herself back into her chair. Luckily when she fell this time, Gaara was more prepared and his sand lashed out to catch her before depositing her into a chair.

She continued to stare at him before turning her head to the side much like he had done earlier. Seemingly deep in thought, Gaara left her to contemplate how to respond to his outrageous claim while he himself considered what it meant. Why it had suddenly happened and how.

As a familiar feeling deep within the sands locked away within the seals he had opened a moment prior. The same feeling he had felt the night before and again when he had been bombarded by the vision with Asia. Another slipped past his mind, one of a ruined church here in Kuoh. He saw himself alongside Asia making their way toward it before it ended.

Pain shot through his head and he gripped the side of his skull tightly to try and push the ache away. He didn't succumb though and remained awake and standing.

"Are you alright?" Asia asked as she saw him wince in pain.

"Yes…though I think I've had another of these…visions regarding you. Why are you here in Kuoh?"

She was silent a moment before slowly answering. "I was invited to come to the church in Kuoh. They offered me a place now that I have nowhere else to go."

"I see. So you are to start a new congregation here." He nodded.

Asia seemed confused by that. "I was told there was already a following here. That they had a church with clergy in place."

"No, the church is old and in disrepair. No one calls it home as far as I am aware."

Asia frowned. Something was wrong, but it was really all she had at the moment. Even if it turned out to be empty, perhaps she could repair it herself and do…something.

She blinked as she realized Gaara had said something to her. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"I will take you to the church to see for yourself. Afterward we can talk more and maybe get something to eat. I think I'm starting to get hungry." Gaara said before stopping.

"A friend of mine would be displeased with me for not properly greeting you earlier so let me introduce myself properly before we go. I'm Gaara Gremory, it's a pleasure to meet you." Gaara held out his hand for the girl.

"Oh, I'm Asia Argento….but you know that. Still, it's really nice to meet you. I would love to see the church."

The two of them smiled at one another, though Gaara's was little more than a slight inclination of the lips. Then they turned and headed out the door with Asia following Gaara's lead.

In the corner of the room where she had been guarding the nun, Koneko watched them go while snacking on some sweets that had been left over from Gaara's party. "I guess I have to tell Rias…after I finish these."

She glared intensely at the woman before her. Said woman simply grinned back and casually crossed her legs slowly giving an easy sight of the nearly see through strip of fabric barely covering her womanhood. Rias' glare intensified and Makima simply grinned more broadly.

"So, how's school been going, Lady Rias?" Makima asked sweetly.

"Well enough." Rias replied with forced cordiality. Usually she could interact with Makima without any issues but when she was reminding Rias that technically she was stronger than Rias was herself…it became a different matter.

Not that the only issue today was that Makima was flexing her demonic power to show Rias the gap in their strength. It was more that just as Gaara had asked, Makima was keeping Rias away from interfering with whatever interaction Gaara was having with the nun. Let alone keeping Rias from the nun herself.

"And what about your peerage? How are things progressing with your plans regarding its growth." Makima asked, pulling Rias' attention back to the room they were in rather than the one where her brother was likely being misled by some agent of the church.

"Well enough." Rias replied once again.

"Really? What about that boy you were scouting? That little pervert child." Makima asked.

Rias paused at the mention of the Hyoudou boy. Evidently he'd been murdered and it seemed as though it had been done by supernatural forces. She'd intended to investigate further and even reincarnate the dead boy soon, but she'd been preoccupied with this mess and unfortunately the window for that was closing. She could bring the dead back, but after a certain point the evil pieces could no longer 'reach' their target's soul.

"I'll be looking more into that when all of this is handled. In fact I will be visiting the hospital where they took his body later today if nothing else happens with this nun business. Though I have to say I find it odd that the nun was here around the same time as the attack. Perhaps we should all go check on Gaara? Just in case." Rias proposed.

"Nonsense. Lord Gaara is the most powerful devil in Kuoh. To suggest he'd be defeated by that girl is silly. Besides, we both know that the truth is you have been watching the fallen angels visiting town as they circled that poor boy like vultures." Makima spoke as she smiled beautifully at Rias, pointing out that she knew more about Rias' peerage movements and the situation in town than Rias expected.

"It's under control." Rias simply said.

"Of course, Lady Rias." Makima nodded her head to her cousin in almost a bow, though they both knew it was more to get under Rias' skin.

Feeling annoyed, Rias decided to turn things around in their discussion. If Makima wanted to talk so badly why not about Gaara's almost nonexistent peerage.

"Speaking of peerage growth, how are things on my little brother's end?" She asked, though she felt a bit bad about dragging Gaara up as a topic. She adored him, and as much as Rias disliked the way Makima showed her affection, it was clear Makima adored Gaara as well.

"Perfectly. He isn't all that interested in expanding his peerage. He won't bat an eye at recruiting someone, I think he may even pick up that little healer."

"She's a member of the church, and really shouldn't you be a bit more reliable. Helping him to find recruits and steering away from bad investments?"

Makima actually laughed at that.

"No one makes up his mind but himself. If you can convince him of anything it was only because you had some honestly sound logic on your side or he already wanted that himself." Makima said simply.

"Gaara isn't stubborn, he barely cares about anything enough to argue about it either." Rias all but scoffed.

"Hmm, and I thought you out of everyone knew him better than that." Makima said softly, causing Rias' temper to flare.

"What do you mean, Makima?"

"Gaara doesn't hold a strong opinion on many things, but whenever he has set his mind on something…it will happen or whatever is in his way will be crushed. Possibly literally with his favored abilities." Makima explained.

"Don't act like my brother is some foreign element to me. How well do you actually think you know him? His queen that wanders off to do who knows what throughout the day while leaving him to be led to classes by my peerage."

Makima gave the girl a blank stare.

"You're becoming too enraptured in your make believe game here on earth, Lady Rias. Gaara only attends those classes at all to amuse you. Meanwhile he delegates his work onto me, as is my place as his queen. Furthermore, if you were so close to him why didn't you notice earlier?"

"Notice what?"

"Him leaving. His demonic power is subtle as long as he is calm, but he and his little nun friend left some time ago. Only a little after he left the three of us here." Makima said with a smile as she stepped aside and let the door open as Koneko stepped inside.

"Uh, Rias…Gaara and the nun left for some church." Koneko reported simply.

Rias turned a glare onto Makima who seemed completely uncaring. Rias didn't really affect her like she did her own peerage. Makima only truly cared for Gaara's opinion or authority at the end of the day, and he was the one that had wanted her to sit and wait. Now she imagined they should go though, she doubted her master realized he was taking his possible new recruit into the den of the Fallen Angels. She'd only learned about that little hideout of the crows from her familiar a while ago as it investigated the murder of Issei Hyoudou.

"Hmm, shall we be chasing them down or would you rather pick up your knight first? Maybe grabbing My lord's pawn would be a good idea too." Makima stated, getting a very unladylike grunt from Rias.

The pair of teenagers had chosen to walk to the church through town rather than move there immediately. Gaara somewhat enjoyed the reactions of his new found companion who was rather excited to be experiencing a new culture. Especially now that she had someone to explain things and act as a tour guide. Even if that tour guide was rather quiet and only spoke when absolutely necessary.

Truthfully it almost felt like a date. Gaara had seen several students at the academy go on them. He'd largely ignored it as it meant nothing to him, but now he supposed he could see the interest. Watching Asia's expressions as they enjoyed the amenities of Kuoh was rather fun.

Especially knowing that she would be joining his peerage. Not that she knew she would be in his peerage yet, but with that strange vision of the future and now having gotten to know her, Gaara was settled on the decision.

He didn't enjoy the thought of trying to force Asia or anyone else into his peerage. In fact in his opinion such a thing was idiotic. How could you ever trust and rely on someone that you had treated like that?

No, the Gremory clan were known for the kindness and compassion they held for their subordinates. Peerage members or otherwise, the Gremory cared for their people.

It wasn't an act, but that didn't mean it wasn't somewhat calculated. Zeoticus had taught his son well in that regard. Rias was a bit more emotionally enthralled by her people, but that was fine. She was simply more emotional than most devils were and that included Gaara.

That all aside, Gaara had long concluded he was more than comfortable with manipulating others to serve him. He may have been a Gremory but he was also a devil, and a noble one at that. He wasn't accustomed to not getting his way.

Still he wasn't so cruel or honestly so foolish as to simply force his will onto others. Not if he didn't have to. So currently he was enjoying his time with Asia while knowing full well that whatever awaited them at the Kuoh church would leave the girl adrift with nowhere to go but back to him and the pleasant atmosphere he could provide.

He didn't need to force anything. He simply needed to do what she wished and then show Asia he liked and cared about her.

Which he did. The girl was incredibly sweet, and more than a little naive. He found it all strangely endearing. Only further driving his desire to possess her.

"Oh I can see the church now." Asia's voice called out from beside him as she lifted a hand to point up at the structure.

It barely peeked through the top of the trees that hid most of the building and the surrounding land from the view of the town.

"Are you ready to go then?" He asked simply.

"I suppose. I will miss spending time with you like this. I haven't had such a good time since…well not for a very long time." The blonde said with a sweet smile directed his way.

Gaara's lips quirked up into a slight smile as well. She was something he felt had to be safeguarded in this world. Just from that look alone.

He'd take pleasure in crushing the ones that had lured her to Kuoh. He didn't doubt it was for terrible reasons. Though he was somewhat thankful that they had brought her to him.

"I will see you again even if you leave." Gaara told her as they started toward the hill.

"You're a devil and I was, am, with the church." Asia said.

Gaara said nothing. They simply continued to climb the steady incline and step off of the sidewalk into the grassy woods near town.

"Why? You are not a friend of the church. I doubt you like them very much." Asia pushed a bit more after a few minutes of silence.

"I like you." Gaara said simply as if that was all that needed to be said.

Asia paused and blushed slightly. She smiled after a moment though.

"I like you too." She said bashfully.

Her smile faded away as a pair of men stepped in front of them. Their uniforms were somehow wrong but she could recognize exorcists easily enough.

"How sweet. I like both of you too." The younger of the two men said as he stepped forward. He had an off kilter grin on his face that warped even further into a truly malevolent smile.

"No, wait, that's a lie. A devil shit and little heretic whore like you disgust me. Makes me want to carve you into something more appealing to my senses. Something grotesque." The man said as he began drawing out a sword and pistol from beneath his coat.

"Brother Freed, we aren't to harm the girl. She's needed." The second man warned.

"Agh, that Angel bitch won't even let me watch her and that blue haired cunt get it on. Now this shit. Such a damn cockblock." Freed snarled before he grinned again.

"Well there's still the devil though." He crowed happily.

"Asia, these are Rogue Exorcists. You realize what that means right?" Gaara asked her while ignoring the man even as he drew his light sword and gun out.

"I…I know but, after the church excommunicated me they offered me a place here." Asia said.

"That's right, now come with me sister and I will escort you to meet our mistress. An angel organizes this sanctuary." The second man offered.

"Who is the angel?" Gaara asked him.

"I can't say anything to you, devil." The man scowled.

"Shut up already and take the bitch back to the church, Lucero. I want to fight this-" Freed began to rant only for his words to shift into a choked yelp of shock as a thin buch powerful tendril of sand suddenly snatched him off the ground by his ankle before catapulting him into the distance at velocities no ordinary human could survive.

"Who is the angel?" Gaara repeated his question.

Both Asia and the exorcist flinched slightly as he spoke. Gaara's tone hadn't changed. He hadn't suddenly become more aggressive or even so much as raised his voice. That was what seemed so threatening.

Having apparently killed someone with complete ease and not cared at all was far more intimidating than he would have been if he had been screaming in their faces.

"You should have answered me." Gaara said.

He swept a hand forward and sand suddenly shot up and around Lucero cocooning the man entirely.

"No! Don't kill him please!" Asia begged, causing Gaara to pause.

"Why?"

The blonde stammered briefly at his response. She hadn't expected such a blunt and cold reply.

"Killing should be a last resort." She finally managed to get out.

"I asked him twice, and he is a Rogue Exorcist in my family's territory."

"I'm a rogue nun in your territory."

Gaara stared at her before drawing his hand back and letting the sand uncover the man's head and face.

Lucero sucked in deep gulps of air. He stared at the devil holding him completely at his mercy in absolute terror and just as much confusion.

"Thank Asia for sharing your life by telling us why you rogue exorcists would work for an angel." Gaara commanded.

The prisoner's eyes swiveled over to the small teen girl that he now essentially owed his life to.

"She's not really an angel. She's a fallen one. Her and her little group want you for some kind of ritual next week. I don't know what it is, but they definitely aren't your friends." Lucero admitted to Asia.

"A ritual…" Asia mumbled quietly pain and confusion coloring her voice.

Gaara frowned at the hurt look in the girl's eyes. The church seemed to mean everything to her and the chance to rejoin its ranks even in this small forgotten location had been her last ray of hope.

"How many, fallen are there?" Gaara asked.

"Three or four. I don't know for sure they don't really like interacting with us. Or mostly. Freed was the one they interacted with the most."

"Who is Freed?" Gaara asked, causing both of the others to blink and stare at him in confusion.

"The guy you threw toward town." Lucero said.

"Oh…I forgot I had done that."

"How did you forget something like that Gaara?" Asia asked in mild horror.

"My mind was more worried about if the exorcists were going to hurt you. I didn't want that to happen." Gaara said before turning to look at the church in thought.

Asia blushed slightly at that whole Lucero looked between the two teenagers before sighing and resigning himself to the whims of a devil that was more airheaded than anyone he had met before.

Gaara ignored his current companions and gently placed a hand over his left eye as he constructed a copy of the organ from sand and guided it into the old church building. He wanted to crush the fallen for being here let alone whatever they had planned for Asia, but he wasn't going into a possible ambush blind.

The church was old and poorly maintained. That had been the appearance of the building from the outside as Gaara's little spy approached. Finding a broken window to pass through had been easy enough.

Inside the building was worse. It had already been left to fall in on itself with time and decay, but it appeared that it hadn't been enough for the Fallen Angels and rogue exorcists to leave it in that state. They had clearly gone out of their way to desecrate the chapel even more.

Crude graffiti covered the walls, and much of the artwork and paint that had been on the walls previously had been carved up or outright burned off. The crucifixes around the space had been especially targeted with all manner of things carved into the wood of their beams.

The central dais that had likely once acted as a pulpit for a priest to preach to his congregation was covered in various toys and items of sexual pleasure, as well as the dried stains of sexual fluids…and blood.

Among the filthy ruins of the church were a handful of exorcists milling about boredly. Though they did each sneak leering glances at the pair of women near to them. A cute petite blonde girl in a sort of Gothic attire and a stunning mature woman with blue hair dressed in tight fitting business wear lounged near the pulpit.

Gaara's eye prepared to press forward to scout out the rest of the area but paused when a familiar set of presences landed and rushed into the old church.

His sister led the charge raising both hands and not bothering to speak to her opponents who took a moment to stare in shock at the brazen assault. Rias lifted her hands up and a tumultuous wave of black and red energy swept out toward the rogue exorcists.

A few of the exorcists leapt clear out of pure reaction but not all of them could manage such a feat. They screamed for a moment before being reduced to nothing more than piles of ash.

His eye provided actual sound, but he could hear the muted sounds from where he stood beside Asia. As the battle began in earnest and Rias and her peerage as well as Gaara's own engaged the fallen angels and exorcists he terminated the eye of sand and turned back to his prisoner.

"I am sparing you for Asia's sake." Gaara bluntly stated before his sand tightened around Lucero's throat and applied pressure directly to his blood vessels.

After a moment Lucero slumped causing Asia to bite her lip worriedly.

"He is only unconscious. I would have preferred terminating him though."

"I know. Thank you." Asia quietly responded. She seemed nearly depressed at the moment and he could only conclude she remained hurt after the reveal of the trap she was walking into before meeting Gaara.

"What's happening at the church?" She asked him.

"The fallen angels leading these rogue exorcists have taken over the church but my sister and her peerage have come to fight them. Do you want to continue to the church or go back to the academy?"

Asia stared at him, overwhelmed perhaps before she sighed. She shrugged before looking up toward the church. Gaara nodded at that. It didn't matter much at this point. The battle would be short. Rias and her peerage would make short work of the Fallen and their peons. That wasn't even considering the inclusion of Makima and Shukaku.

Gaara started forward toward the church with Asia following after him a moment later. The sands around them swirled and built into a moving wall as they closed in on the structure. Just as they came to the door a pair of exorcists tumbled out of the doorway with Shukaku and Koneko closely following behind them with the intent to pulverize them.

They didn't get the chance before the pair of men were swallowed by the sands and dragged off to the edge of the woods to be disposed of. Gaara was trying to be considerate to his soon to be peerage member after all.

"Dammit, I was gunna kick him around some more. Whatever." Shukaku complained before crossing his arms and leaning against the wall of the building.

"Have you beaten all of the fallen?" Gaara asked simply.

"Rias and Akeno killed them." Koneko answered him before turning to stare at the nun for a moment.

Asia hesitated at the stare, but found her confidence and followed after Gaara as he swept past the two impromptu guards. Inside, Asia almost wished she had stayed out with the intimidating pair rather than witness the after effects of the other devils' powers.

What she assumed had been the fallen angels had been reduced to piles of ash that still occasionally flickered with magical currents of electricity. Gaara's sister and the dark haired girl beside her seemed to be poking around the ruined church nearby.

The state of the church would have greatly upset Asia even a few hours before. Now she simply felt…disappointed. All of the damage and even the later death that had occurred here seemed so pointless.

Gaara's queen approached him and his tag along. A small smile on her face as she stepped past the handful of exorcists that seemed to have killed themselves before slipping around Gaara and settling down and leaning across his shoulders with her cheek pressed against his.

"How was your day out with your new friend, master?" Makima purred.

Gaara quirked an eyebrow at her as he tracked her line of sight to Asia. It seemed Makima was already looking forward to a new subordinate brought into the peerage.

"Gaara, did you have any trouble on your way here?" Rias asked as she came over to him as well.

"No. I didn't expect you to come and destroy everyone though. It is easier for me though, I suppose."

"Well I needed to handle these crows and their cronies. I had put it off for your party though and then you started fainting." Rias pointed out.

Gaara nodded before scanning the room slowly with his eyes.

"You didn't leave any survivors? I hoped to ask one of the Fallen Angels about why they had tricked Asia to come here." He turned to face his new companion.

"Though I don't think it really matters in the end. Asia, what do you plan to do now?"

The girl stared back at him then peered at the carnage around them once more. Her lip trembled slightly and she forced out a cough to no doubt push down the lump in her throat.

"I don't know." She all but whispered.

"Do you want me to give you an option besides wandering off into the world?" Gaara asked gently leaving Makima's hold and closing in on Asia.

"I'm a nun." She quietly replied.

"No. Not anymore. The church and everyone else has abandoned you. I can take you. Just take my hand and you won't be alone. I won't toss you aside." Gaara reached out toward her as the others quietly watched.

Rias looked a bit uncomfortable with him making the girl a member of his peerage. She honestly was interested in her as well, but mostly she felt unsure about the nun becoming a devil.

"Asia…what choice do you have? Let me show you how to live a life you can actually enjoy." Gaara pressed again, surprising Makima and the others by his forwardness. He seemed determined to take her.

Slowly the girl swallowed before reaching out her hand.

"Why do you even want me to join so badly?" She asked him.

Gaara was silent as he stared at her and took her hand before pulling her closer to him causing her to blush both at his stare and their sudden closeness.

"I want you."

It didn't answer her question at all, but yet somehow she knew it was all she would get. With a sudden wave of nausea, power, and exhaustion she felt a change in her very being. Her soul twisted and mutated as he pressed an evil piece into her chest.

It sank into her flesh and she wavered a moment before slowly slipping into unconsciousness and collapsing onto a bed of sand he had waiting for her.

"Makima, take her back to our home and prepare her for her new tasks and expectations in her new life." Gaara commanded.

"As you wish." The woman said before easily lifting the blonde up and generating a magical circle to slip away back to their home.

"What piece." Rias asked simply.

"A bishop. She'll need to be changed a bit to properly fit into my peerage."

"I never expected you to be one that broke their new pieces in."

"It's not really breaking them. She'll be better. It doesn't matter anyway. She's mine to mold, and I need to come up with a plan to prepare her for life as a devil." Gaara said as he generated his own magic circle to leave.

Rias simply sighed as he left and began destroying the corpses of the various exorcists remaining in the church before she and the others also left.

Hidden in the basement, watching through a thin slit in the disguised door, two fallen angels watched as their entire force was slaughtered then destroyed with ease.

"They have the twilight healing now. What is the plan Raynare?" Dohnaseek asked.

"We go report to the commander. The twilight healing was a small piece and we might still get it, just not today with all of those high class devils and their minions around."

Slowly and carefully they both slipped out and away from the church before fleeing for their leader To tell them what had happened to their operation and who all had ruined it.

Okay thats all for this chapter. A few changes and a bit more showcase of Gaara's Personality. I want him to definitely have a darker more sinister side to his character that always gets his way if that wasn't clear.

He isn't sadistic to the point of torturing people or anything but he gets what he wants one way or another.

If you wanna back me on that site for Patrons look up Helghystories, gotta put in the patron site name / Helghystories. Got some early access stuff and exclusive stuff there.
