(A month goes by and Mariska is once again being both parents and it is taking a toll on her. Not just that but she had noticed Jesse had been acting weird before he left and she hadn't heard from him in three days. Mariska was in the park with her kids when she spotted a familiar face and some woman.)

(Mariska was helping Jason on the slide as the twins played on the monkey bars. Her cell starts to ring and she takes it out of her pocket and answers it.)

Mariska: Hello.

Kelli: Hey stranger.

Mariska: Kelli I talked to you two days ago.

Kelli: Yes and that's too long even for us. So what are you up to on this beautiful Saturday?

Mariska: Well I promised the kids I'll bring them to the park so here we are.

Kelli: Girl I don't see you doing it with Jesse always away on those business trips.

Mariska: Im their mother its shat I'm supposed to do even if I wasn't married.

(As they continue to talk she scans the park and sees the girls laughing and still on the monkey bars. She also scans and her eyes spot him even though he doesn't notice her. Just when she was about to help Jesse up the slide again she heard an ear-piercing scream.)

Imogen: (screams and cries) Mommy.

Maeve: Mom Mo's hurt.

(Mariska whips her head and sees Mo on the ground cradling her arm and Mae next to her.)

Mariska: Oh god, Kelli let me call you back.

Kelli: What? What happened?

Mariska: I'll call you back.

(As she picks up Jason and jogs over she sees Chris making his way over too. Before she makes it over he is kneeling down beside her talking to her.)

Chris: Hey sweetie my name is Chris, I'm a doctor. Where does it hurt?

Imogen: (crying) My arm.

Maeve: She just slipped.

Chris: Ok can I take a look?

(Just then Mariska comes and places Jason down before she moves to Mo's other side.)

Mariska: Mo baby where are you hurt? Let me see.

Imogen: It hurts mommy.

Chris: I think it's broken.

Imogen: (panics) What? Mommy, he said my arm.is broken. My arm can't be broken Mom what about soccer?

(Chris watches as Mariska grabs her daughter's face and brings her closer.)

Mariska: Baby listen to me ok? We don't know if it's broken or not so we have to get you to the hospital.

Imogen: (cries harder) No I hate hospitals. Can't I just put ice on it?

Mariska: We have to get you checked out baby.

Maeve: (hugs her sister) Mo it's going to be ok. I promise I won't leave you ok.

Imogen: (sniffles) You promise?

Maeve: I promise.

Imogen: (looks at her mom) Will it hurt?

Mariska: Just a little bit.

Imogen: (looks at Chris) Can you fix it?

(He looks to Mariska before he looks back at Mo.)

Chris: I can but I'm not that kind of doctor.

Imogen: OK, I'm ready to go because it really really hurts.

Mariska: OK, can you walk or..

Imogen: Can you hold me?

Mariska: (smiles) OK, come on my love.

(Mariska gets up at the same time as Chris and helps Mo up before she carefully picks her up.)

Chris: I can carry her to the car if.

Mariska: I got it, thanks. Mae, can you get your brother, please?

Maeve: Yes ma'am. Come on J.

(Chris watches as they walk away and get into an SUV before she drives off. Mariska looks out the rearview seeing him stand there and the emotion pulls at her heartstrings. She makes it to the ER in recorded time and makes her way into the hospital. She is immediately taken to the back and has to wait until after her X-ray to be able to sit with her.)

(She watches as Mae grips her sister's hand and they talk in a whisper tone. She doesn't know what is being said but it is enough to keep them both calm. An hour later they all were back home, the kids took a nap as she prepared dinner as she called Kelli.)

Kelli: Hey.

Mariska: Hey sorry about earlier.

Kelli: What happened?

Mariska: Mo fell from the monkey bars and broke her arm.

Kelli: Oh god is she ok?

Mariska: She is now but that's not all of it.

Kelli: Ok you're scaring me. Do I need to come down?

Mariska: No it's nothing like that. There is something I've been keeping from everyone for about a month now.

Kelli: You're pregnant?

Mariska: No.

Kelli: You left your husband?

Mariska: No.

Kelli: Damn. Ok if it's not that then what could it be?

Mariska: Chris is here.

Kelli: Ouu who's Chris?

Mariska: (rolls her eyes) Chris as in the twin's father Chris.

Kelli: Ohhhhh, ohhhhh. Wow, I'm I'm loss for words. Does he know about the girls?

Mariska: No, but he was in the park when Mo hurt herself and he was the one to get to her first to help her.

Kelli: Wait a minute. You're telling me that he has been here a month and you didn't tell me?

Mariska: Actually he's been working at the clinic for a month but he has been in Long Island for a few years.

Kelli: Damn, so when are you going to tell him?

Mariska: I don't know. I've waited for this moment for 9 years and it's here now I'm scared.

Kelli: How about you invite him out for dinner?

Mariska: That could work.

Kelli: It's time Mar, I mean it has to be fate right?

Mariska: I did promise I would find him and now he's here.

Kelli: Just do it I say.

Mariska: I would have to talk to Jesse first.

Kelli: He's barely home. At this point are you guys even married?

Mariska: He is working? I knew what would happen before we even got married.

Kelli: Yeah, but let's be honest. When was the last time he spent time with the kids?

Mariska: (thinks about it) It's been a long time.

Kelli: See you're not the only one miserable in that house.

(They talk for a few more minutes before she finally hangs up. She goes back to cooking as her mind goes back to how many times her husband was absent. How many times her son cried for his daddy and it broke her heart. Even the girls were different around him, they barely called him dad anymore. At dinner time she sits around and listens to her kids talk among themselves and as always Jesse is never present at the dinner table.)
