Chapter 6
The gentle lap of waves against the hull sets a rhythmic backdrop as Ash, Alice, and Delia board a small boat bound for the mysterious Sevestar Island. The early morning sun casts a golden glow over the water, illuminating their path with hopeful light. At the bow, Ash stands beside Alice, both eagerly discussing their expectations and dreams for the adventure ahead.
As they chat, Ash shares stories of his previous journeys, each tale woven with challenges and triumphs that reveal more about his resilient spirit. Alice listens intently, her eyes wide with wonder, occasionally chiming in with her own aspirations and what the island might hold for them. Delia, overseeing their preparations, smiles at their growing camaraderie, pleased to see her son forging a new friendship.
The boat cuts through the calm sea, drawing nearer to the island. This journey, laden with the weight of family history and a potential future, promises not only to unveil the secrets of Sevestar Island but also to deepen the bond between Ash and Alice, as they explore together under the vast, open sky.
As the boat glides closer, the outline of Sevestar Island becomes distinctly visible against the clear blue sky. Lush greenery blankets the landscape, and an old castle, a relic of past adventures, stands prominently amid the trees.
"There it is," Ash says, his voice filled with a mix of nostalgia and anticipation. He points towards the castle, its ancient stones a testament to many stories untold.
Alice, standing beside him, can't hide her enthusiasm. "It looks like something out of a legend! Can you imagine all the things your dad and my mom did here?"
Delia smiles, looking at the familiar shoreline with a sigh of relief. "It hasn't changed a bit," she remarks, her memories of the place mingling with the present. "I never thought I'd see this place again."
As the boat docks at the sandy beach, the trio steps onto the island, their shoes crunching softly on the gravel. The castle looms ahead, inviting yet formidable, wrapped in climbing ivy that speaks of years without human touch.
Ash leads the way, his steps purposeful. "Let's check out the castle first," he suggests, his voice echoing slightly in the open air. "We might find some hints about how to start transforming this place into a new region, just like Arceus wanted."
Alice nods eagerly, her curiosity about the aura secrets and her parents' past pushing her forward. "And maybe there are still some traces of the aura training they did," she adds, hopeful.
As Ash, Alice, and Delia approach the castle, the ancient doors creak open with a weighty groan, hinting at years of disuse. The interior is shrouded in shadows, the air cool and musty with the scent of old stone and forgotten tales. They step inside, their eyes adjusting to the dim light filtering through the dust-covered windows.
Suddenly, the shadows coalesce into a more distinct form at the center of the grand hall. Standing before them is Arceus, its presence majestic and commanding, enveloping the space with an aura of power and serenity.
Alice gasps, her eyes wide with awe and disbelief. "Is that... Arceus?" she stammers, her voice barely a whisper. The realization that they are in the presence of the god of all Pokémon sends a shiver down her spine. "I never imagined we'd actually meet Arceus here," she adds, her initial shock giving way to a mix of reverence and curiosity.
Ash and Delia share a look of mutual understanding, their previous experiences lending them a calmer demeanor, though they are no less affected by the gravity of the encounter.
Arceus regards them with a gaze that seems to pierce through time itself, its voice resonating within the walls of the castle and within their minds. "Welcome to Sevestar Island," it begins, "a place of great significance to your families and to the balance I strive to maintain across all worlds."
As they stand before Arceus, Ash steps forward, a relaxed smile spreading across his face. "It's good to see you again, Arceus," he says, his voice carrying a casual warmth as if greeting an old friend.
Arceus nods solemnly, its ethereal form shimmering slightly in the dim light of the castle. "Since Red's passing, I have shielded this island," it explains. "I made it unseen and unreachable to ensure that its sanctity was preserved. Now, it is time for you to explore and reconnect with its history."
As Arceus stands before them, majestic in the dim light of the castle, Ash steps forward with a calm familiarity, a small smile playing on his lips. "It's good to see you again, Arceus," he says, his voice steady and warm.
Arceus nods, its form shimmering slightly as it responds. "After Red's passing, I have safeguarded this island, ensuring that no one could stumble upon it inadvertently. It is a sanctuary, not just in geography but in spirit. I invite you to explore, to reconnect with the history held within these walls."
Encouraged by Arceus's invitation, Ash, Delia, and Alice begin to wander through the castle's extensive halls and rooms, each step uncovering relics of the past. The walls are adorned with pictures that capture moments frozen in time: Red and Valerie training under Arceus's watchful eye, their faces alight with the joy of discovery and the challenge of their tasks.
Delia points out a photo of a younger version of herself with Red, their expressions serious yet hopeful, a reminder of the dreams they once shared. Alice, deeply engrossed, traces her fingers over the images of her mother, seeing her in a light she had never imagined before.
As they continue their exploration, they find themselves in the master bedroom, a large, airy space with a heavy, ornate desk sitting beneath a window. On the desk, amidst various old trinkets, lies a journal, its leather cover worn and pages yellowed with age. Ash approaches it slowly, a sense of reverence in his steps.
He picks up the journal, dust motes dancing in the sunlight streaming through the window. Opening it to the first page, he finds it inscribed with his father's handwriting, the words promising secrets of the past and wisdom for the future. The discovery feels like a direct connection to Red, a tangible piece of his legacy waiting to be understood.
As Ash carefully opens the journal, Alice leans closer, her curiosity piqued. "What did you find, Ash?" she asks, her eyes darting over the worn leather cover.
"It's a diary," Ash replies, his voice tinged with excitement as he reveals the contents. "My dad's."
Before they can begin reading, Delia's Rotom Phone vibrates loudly, cutting through the silence of the room. She steps aside to answer, her expression turning serious as she listens. Returning to Ash and Alice, her worry is evident.
"I need to head back; it's something urgent from Professor Oak," she says, her tone apologetic.
Ash looks concerned. "Mom, can't it wait a bit?"
"No, Ash, it can't. But you're safe here, especially with Arceus outside. Alice will be with you, too," Delia responds, then turns to Alice with a stern yet caring look. "Please look after each other. Remember to eat, and don't stay up too late."
"Don't worry, Mrs. Ketchum," Alice reassures her, giving Ash a confident nod. "We'll be fine. We'll take care of each other."
Delia hugs them both, lingering a moment longer with Ash. "Be careful, and call me if you need anything," she says, then with one last glance, she hurries out to prepare for her departure.
Once alone, Ash and Alice turn their attention back to the diary. Ash holds it out to Alice, suggesting, "Let's read this together. Maybe it'll give us some insight into what my dad hoped for this island."
Settling down, they open the diary, eager to dive into the thoughts and hopes penned down by Ash's father, each word a step closer to understanding the legacy entrusted to them.
Settled into the dimly lit master bedroom of the old castle, Ash and Alice open Red's worn diary. The entries offer vivid details of Red and Valerie's adventures and their mastery over aura, detailing how they could manipulate it into weapons using various Pokémon moves.
As they read, Alice's interest in the descriptions of aura manipulation grows. "These aura weapons sound powerful. Do you think we could learn to do that too?" she asks, her eyes alight with curiosity and excitement.
Ash considers her question, feeling a connection to his father's legacy. "I hope so," he responds thoughtfully. "If my dad could, maybe I have that potential too. It would be amazing to connect with his abilities that way."
They continue through the pages, reaching the sections about his mother, Delia. Ash isn't surprised when he reads about her past as an assassin—a fact he already knew—but he focuses on how the entries elaborate on her transformation from a potential foe to a beloved partner and key ally in bridging family divides.
"Here, Dad writes about how Mom really came into his life," Ash explains, pointing to a passage. "It talks about her internal conflicts, her decision to choose a life with him over her past duties, and how deeply that affected both their lives."
Alice nods, absorbing the gravity of Delia's choices. "That must have been such a tough decision for her, choosing love over everything she knew before," she reflects.
As they delve deeper, they find detailed accounts of how Red and Delia used their aura abilities in various scenarios, from conflicts to demonstrations of trust and unity. The diary also recounts how their union helped to ease the longstanding tensions between the Ketchum and Mache families, paving the way for a new era of peace.
"Reading this, it's like feeling what they felt, seeing what they saw," Ash remarks, moved by his father's words. "It's incredible to see how their choices shaped everything that came after."
As Ash and Alice delve deeper into the diary's accounts of Red and Delia's complex lives, a powerful, echoing voice suddenly resonates from outside the castle, filling the space with its immense presence. It is Arceus, its tone commanding yet serene, "Ash, Alice, come forth. Your presence is required outside."
Prompted by the divine call, they pause their reading. Ash carefully closes the diary, preserving the page they were on, and secures it under his arm. "It sounds important. We should see what Arceus needs from us," he says, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and respect.
When Ash and Alice step outside, they are immediately struck by the presence of Arceus, its figure towering yet serene against the expansive sky above.
"Why did you summon us, Arceus?" Ash asks, his voice echoing slightly in the open air.
"Do you remember the dream I imparted to you?" Arceus's voice resonates deeply, its tone calm and commanding.
Ash nods, his face serious. "Yes, I'm here to transform this island into a new region. But I'm unclear about how to start."
Alice, feeling suddenly out of her depth, interjects with a hint of panic, "Wait, what dream? What's this about transforming an island?"
Ash turns to her, his expression softening. "It's a lot to take in, I know. Arceus gave me a vision for this place, to make it a sanctuary for Pokémon and people alike. I'll explain everything, I promise."
Arceus speaks again, addressing both of them. "Ash, your leadership and courage have inspired the Legendary Pokémon to assist in this island's expansion and the migration of new Pokémon species here. Alice, though you might feel unprepared, your insights and creativity are vital. Together, you will design the future of this island."
Alice bites her lip, clearly overwhelmed. "But how am I supposed to contribute to something so huge? I don't have any experience with... with anything like this."
Ash steps closer, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Alice, it's not about having all the answers right now. It's about being willing to find them together. You're stronger than you realize, and you're not alone in this."
Alice looks up at Ash, then back at Arceus, her uncertainty slowly giving way to a cautious resolve. "Okay," she finally says, her voice low but steadier. "I'll give it my best. If you think I can help, then I'll try. For the island."
Ash smiles, grateful for her trust. "Thank you, Alice. We'll learn and grow through this, together."
With a newfound sense of partnership, Ash and Alice prepare to embark on their monumental task, now fully understanding the importance of their roles and the support they have in each other and in Arceus. They turn back toward the castle, ready to gather more information and begin planning the future of Sevestar Island.
Here is a new chapter, and now we are finally here in the Sevestar Region. I hope you like it and we're going for the Pokemon-type chapters like we did in the other versions of Sevestar Prince.
