Happy Tuesday, Gleeks!

First off, thank you guys for the amazing reviews and likes! It definitely motivates me even more to continue this story, but if i'm being honest, I would write this story either way since I very much love Hevans, but i'm so incredibly glad other people do too! Thank you guys!

As Sam put on his Jersey over his shoulder pads, he thought to himself, "I'm Sam Evans, and I'm happy the way my life is."

He knows that Kurt is happy too and that's all that matters. He tries not to think about it too much.

Despite being in the Glee club, he made a great reputation for himself. He has plenty of friends and loads of respect. What else could he ask for?

The big game was coming up and he was ready to lead the Titans to victory. First time with him on the team. As he placed his helmet on his head, he joined the rest of the boys on the field. All looking identical.

"Sam!"

The boy turned his head and saw Quinn wave to him. The sun above her makes her hair even more golden. She smiled as she shook her pompoms with excitement.

Sam smiled and gave her a thumbs up. He felt good about this game.

The cheering crowd made Sam play even better, even though most of the people were cheering specifically for Finn, he still felt honored to be on his team.

As the game went on, he managed to get in a few touchdowns, leading to a few cheers from the bleachers and shouts from the cheerleaders. He couldn't help but notice the dark glare Karofsky would give him. Sam would be darned if he didn't give him a nice glare back.

He's usually not the kind of guy to do that, but he has to show his displeasure to the teen.

It was finally the last quarter and Finn gathered the team into a huddle.

"I'm really proud of you guys." Finn goes on to express his gratitude towards his team, but Sam notices Karofsky's look of annoyance.

"Why don't we all break out into song after?" The boy asked with a smirk, making the team deflate at the tone change.

"Shut it, Karofsky!"

"No freaking way!" He snapped, making Finn go silent. "If I keep going, I'm sure you'll run away, like your little butt buddy, Hummel."

This made the team go silent again but Finn kept his stance. No one noticed the murderous glare Sam sent the teen. He seemed to have forgotten that Sam knows his secret.

"It's funny, Karofsky, how you're calling everyone gay all the time, but you never seem to have a girlfriend."

That made Karofsky launch forward at Finn, making the giant teen jump back. Two of the boys had to hold him back. Sam didn't miss the look Finn gave him. A look of pure confusion rather than anger. Why was he getting so defensive?

That whole argument is the reason why the Titans lost that day, and boy, did they hear it from Coach Biest.

It led to another argument that even Sam had to try to break up.

Now they are here… in the Choir room.

The teens were silently waiting for rehearsal to start but everyone was taken back seeing Artie roll into the room, dripping wet, and red in frozen slush. Brittany ran to him right away. "Artie!" Tina exclaimed.

"That's it!" Finn huffed and got up from his chair, followed immediately by Sam, Puck and Mike. They marched towards the door, about ready to confront those assholes.

Until, they were met by boys dressed in the same letterman jackets entering the room. They were caught off guard.

"So this is what the lady's room looks like." One of them spoke, hands in pockets. Looking around the clean room.

"This is the choir room!" Sam snapped as he stepped forward, as the boys laughed, mockingly.

"Now put up your fist because me and you are going to do some dancing!" Sam wasn't the threatening type but the anger he has for these football players is uncanny. What they've done to Kurt and all the Glee friends he made so far.

He was interrupted when Finn placed a hand on his chest. "I got this, Sam."

The teen immediately swiped his hand away from his shirt and turned towards the taller teen.

Once Coach Biest and Mr. Shue entered the Glee room, gesturing for the football players to take a seat.

"Welcome our new members of Glee club!"

All Hell broke loose.

"No way!

"Are you kidding me?!"

"Hell to the no!

"Were not doing that?!"

"Can I quit?!"

"Mr. Shue, Are you serious?!" Finn exclaimed as he stood tall from his seat. "These are the guys who made Kurt transfer!" Pointing specifically at Karofsky.

"There is no way I'm sharing a choir room with a known homophobe!" Rachel shouted.

.

Sam was honestly proud to see Finn stand up for his brother, but once again, noticed Karofsky glare at the ground after being called a homophobe by Rachel.

It looks like the football players are joining the Glee club. This will be fun.

Kurt was laying on the coach of the Warbler room. His legs folded underneath him and he was flipping through his flashcards one last time before his test. A migraine forming by the seconds.

It's only tradition at this point for Blaine to announce his presents by yanking whatever is in his hand, and that's exactly what he did.

"Hey, you." He smiled as Blaine stroked his boyfriend's knee as he sat.

Kurt still can't get used to him calling him that. Saying he has a boyfriend. At Mckinley, he would be dead if he was found holding hands with another guy, but here, he felt much safer too. In fact, lots of the boys encouraged it.

"You will not believe what happened when I was in Chem last period…"

Blaine went on about his life as Kurt was listening intently. He knows he's going to have to cut him off soon so he doesn't fail his test next class, but his boyfriend was really giddy today.

Suddenly, Kurt's phone went off, making both boy's jump, mainly Kurt since he was sitting on the vibrating phone.

"Sorry, one second." Kurt said, as Blaine just smiled in reply.

The boy got up and saw the call was from Sam.

He never received a call from him in a while. Not after he and Blaine became a thing.

"Hey, Sam." Kurt started. He was still facing Blaine and the latter deflated slightly at the name being said. He decided to facetime.

"Hey, Kurt!" Sam exclaimed. Kurt noticed he was wearing his letterman jacket and was on the move. "So long story short, we're going to be doing a halftime performance at our game, and it's a mash up of "Thriller," and "Heads will roll." Weird, I know, but it has a whole zombie theme to it and we have to apply makeup but I literally don't know how makeup works. Can I get some help?" He asked, quickly.

Kurt had to process all this information, but he just chuckled at the boy.

"I don't know anything about Zombie makeup, Sam. It can be as messy as you want! Go nuts with it." Kurt simply responded, as he saw Sam sit in what looks like a vanity chair. He could see some of the other Glee guys in the back applying makeup too, due to the letterman jackets.

"Wait." Kurt stopped Sam as he was about to respond. "Why is Mr. Shue making you perform at halftime? You're telling me you have to play for the first half, change into Zombie makeup for the halftime show, and then play for the rest of the game?" He asked.

Sam chuckled nervously and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Uh, pretty much. But it's fine though. The whole football team has to do it."

"Huh?!" Kurt exclaimed in confusion. Sam laughed again and adjusted his phone screen.

"It's a long story but Coach Biest and Mr. Shue decided to make the Football players join Glee so they can be well rounded. It's definitely been interesting."

Kurt's eyes widened. He has never been more grateful he's not a part of the New Directions anymore.

"That's crazy." Kurt mentioned.

"The girls have it worse. They have to choose whether to do the halftime show or go to a Cheerior competition with Coach Slvester. If they choose the Glee club, they're off the Cheerios." He sighed deeply.

Kurt's eyes widened again. He generally didn't remember how much drama went on at Mckinley high. Dalton is so boring, he sleeps between classes.

"That's brutal. What do you think your girlfriend will choose?" He asked, sincerely. Sam just paused and had to think for a second. This brought him back to earlier this week, where he found Finn in a confrontation with Quinn. Calling her weak for choosing the Cheerios over Glee.

Sam hates that word. Weak.

He noticed his relationship with Quinn was being faltered by Finn. Sam can still feel the spark between them, but he can't lose Quinn now. He'll have nothing left.

"Not sure." Sam lied. "But let's cross our fingers." Sam dramatically crossed them with a scrunched up face that Kurt thought was adorable. Kurt crossed his as well.

He could hear the bell ring over the phone. Sam got up from his chair and looked towards the screen some more. "Kurt, I have to go." He announced.

"Okay. Sorry I couldn't help with the makeup."

"No, I'm glad I could just talk to you. This week has been stressful." He admits, tired.

They bid each other a farewell before hanging up. Kurt turned back to Blaine who was still sitting on the couch.

"What time is it?" Kurt asked as he frantically checked his watch, noticing he still had 20 minutes before his next class started. "Okay, we have time."

They both sat on the couch once more, and Kurt let out a sigh.

"Anything on your mind?" Blaine asked, looking over towards the boy. "I know that look."

"I'm not wearing a look." Kurt simply stated. Blaine sat up to look him in the eyes.

"Yes, you are. How is Sam?"

Kurt was a little confused to hear Sam being brought up so randomly, but he realized that Blaine probably assumed she was upset about him, but it wasn't just that. He hated to admit that he missed Mckinley.

"They're having a football game. Everyone will be there. Including the New Directions." Kurt stated. Avoiding the "Sam" question.

"You hate football." Blaine spoke. "Whenever I turn on football in the lounge, you always cringe."

"Well, yeah!" He exclaimed. "It's just about sweaty guys wrestling on the ground. Staining clothes and yelling at each other! If I want to see that, I'll watch "The Kardashians." He huffed, being completely serious but Blaine was laughing.

"So you want to go? To see your friends?" Blaine asked, hand on Kurt's back, comforting.

"Sort of." He admitted, shyly. "I just really want to see them perform. It's been too long."

Blaine nodded and looked back over at Kurt. "Well then, let's go." He spoke, making Kurt look over to him. "You want to go with me?" Kurt asked, surprised.

Blaine just laughed and shook his head. "Well, I'm not going to let you go alone. That's lame." The teen got up from his seat and looked down at Kurt. "Consider it our official first date." He smiled and bent down to kiss Kurt's cheeks before leaving the room.

Kurt got all kiddie from the kiss, but even kiddier knowing he'll see his friends soon.

It was the night of the big game and a chilly night too.

Kurt knew that his father loved football and he would love to support his new step son, so he was happy to join, as well as Carole; of course.

This was the first time Kurt saw his dad and Blaine actually have a full on conversation. He learned that they are both football heads. Something Kurt can't bring to the party, but is glad that it's something they can bond over.

They made their way to the bleachers in the icy air. Blaine, being a gentleman as always, let Burt, Carole and Kurt go before him while going into the aisle.

Kurt warned Blaine beforehand that he might stop and ask him questions throughout the game to educate him, and Blaine obliged.

"Haven't been at a football game in a while! This is exciting! I can finally see your brother play!" Blaine exclaimed with a smile and a clap of excitement. Kurt smiled and turned his attention back on the field. He saw the opposing team on the field already doing warmups and the coaches, but no cheerleaders or Titans. Kurt was confused at this but what does he know? Nothing about Football, that's for sure!

Then he felt his father tap his shoulder from across from Carole. Kurt looked towards him and saw where his father was pointing. "There's Finn."

Kurt looked up and saw his new brother doing his stretches. But he was doing them solo. He also saw some normally dressed boys on the field too. Not in uniform. Kurt really didn't understand football.

"Kurt!"

Kurt looked around at his name being called. Blaine pointed to the voice. Kurt looked down and saw Sam on the first step of the beachers, fully dressed in his uniform. Helmet and all. Kurt could hardly tell it was him.

Sam then skeeted up the bleachers and reached over to ruffle Kurt's hair. Making the boy roll his eyes, but with a smile. He then saw Blaine, Carole and Burt's eyes bore into his, causing an awkward silence for a second.

"Sorry, I'm Sam!" He exclaimed as he shook everyone's hand almost too enthusiastically. Blaine almost had his whole body shake from Sam's strong grasp.

"Of course. You played with Finn, and came to the Christmas party…" Burt started with a nod. "and in Glee, of course. I heard you're very talented." Carole continued on. Sam almost blushed at this.

"Yeah, we saw him perform at Sectionals. Very talented indeed." Blaine awkwardly smiled.

Sam smiled once more, and felt his face get red. "Well, thank you for being here." He smiled and looked at the field to see if it was his que to get ready. "Is your family here, Sam?" Kurt asked, as Sam nodded happily.

"They are! Right over there with my younger siblings." He pointed to his family a few isles down and waved to them. The two little siblings lit up when they saw their older brother. Kurt couldn't help but look on at Sam. He could have stopped to say Hello to his family, but he chose to say Hello to Kurt and his family.

Sam looked down at the field and saw Finn gesture for him to get down and get ready.

"It was nice talking to you all but I have to go. We're short on players today. Only the ones in Glee are playing." He stated as Kurt's eyes widened.

"What?! Isn't that only like five players?" Kurt asked. Sam nodded and shrugged. "Yeah, it's a long story... again.. But the girls are actually filling in for the boys. Another long story." He sighed and Kurt looked towards the field, making out the girls dressed in the Titan uniform. Almost unrecognizable.

"I miss so much not being at Mckinley." Kurt chuckled as he wrapped his scarf tighter around his cold neck. Sam leaned closer slightly, a little awkward since Blaine was caught in between them. "I'll keep you updated." He smirked as he popped his protective mouth wear in his mouth. It's like an orange wedge, Kurt noted.

Sam waved as he made his way down the aisle once more. Blaine couldn't help but feel a pit in his stomach whenever Sam was around. Especially around Kurt. His eyes just light up.

Blaine just took Kurt's gloved hand to snap him out of his thoughts. It worked, but Kurt only gave him a slightly awkward smile. No passion behind his eyes, making Blaine gulp in dismay.

As the game went on, Kurt learned alot about Football. By a lot, he means he learned how angry it makes people. He heard his father use language he never heard before and Blaine yelled louder then he ever has, making Kurt flinch. He only had Carole to console with.

It was now almost half time and the Titan's were on the brink of losing. Tina manages to get hurt during the game but nothing too serious.

"Sam!" Finn yelled, making the boy turn in the direction of the quarterback. He jogged towards him. "I need you to play quarterback for the rest of the half."

Sam looked up at him in confusion and slight fear. He never had to play Quarterback in front of so many people in such a serious game. But he had no choice. Finn didn't give him much of an option. Sam nodded wordless

Finn was on his way to get the cheerleaders and Puck was on to get the other football players. Hopefully to convince them to join in the Halftime show.

As the game started off again, Sam could feel his heart beating and he could almost hear Kurt cheer him on, but knew that was in his head. He was too far away.

Before Sam knew it, he had the ball in his hand and was running towards the in zone at top speed. His legs move faster than his mind. He could see Biest and the other members cheer him on. Once he was able to run past the in zone, he threw the ball and flexed. The crowd went wild. That was his Glee side coming out.

"Off with your head, dance dance dance till you're dead."

Kurt was blown away by this performance. Not just because of the crazy zombie makeup and the insane vocals or effects. It was how all the football players were performing as well. Kurt never thought in a million years that the Football players would actually have the balls to do this, and he has to admit, they were pretty good at it.

Everyone was dancing in the stands, including Carole and Burt who looked so proud of Finn. He definitely killed it. They all did.

After the performance came to end, Kurt could see just how happy they all seemed. Even the football players. Blaine couldn't help but notice his boyfriend looking at the field with a sense on longingless. Blaine looked down at Kurt's cold hand before gripping it. It broke Kurt out of his thoughts by the tight squeeze.

The game continued, and after a very stressful last quarter, the Titans took home the trophy, with the Glee girls by their sides.

Kurt could have sworn he almost went deaf by the sound of his father screaming for joy. Men and their sports. Kurt will never understand.

Since the stands were going crazy, Kurt jumped and cheered as well. The boy could see Blaine jumping and cheering too. He felt him grip on to his shoulder as he jumped. Then Kurt heard Blaine yell something in his ear, but it wasn't heard over the loud screams of the crowd.

"What?" Kurt asked with a smile, into Blaine's ear. Blaine leaned down to the boy even more and screamed, "I love you."

This made Kurt stop jumping. He looked at Blaine's happy face and the people around him felt like they weren't there anymore. It was just them, but not in the best way. Kurt felt a sense of dread. He doesn't understand why Blaine had to tell him here. Right now.

Kurt just smiled and held Blaine's hand tighter. He leaned over, and planted a small kiss on his cheeks. Kurt could see a small look of hurt in Blaine's eyes, but it was masked with a grin.

Kurt looked back over at the field, and smiled once more seeing his friends cheering and jumping like crazy at the win. He misses those days. The simpler days.

It sounds crazy now. When Kurt was a New Directions, he thought it was the most drama filled years of his life, but now, he misses the drama. Now he can't decide on the boy right next to him…

Or the boy he left behind.

Kurt looks at Sam down below. Still in full on zombie make up. He wishes he could go back and tell Sam how he felt about him before going to Dalton. He could be happy.

But he always has to remind himself how lucky he is for Blaine. Someone who's attractive, funny, kind…

But there is only one problem though…

He's not Sam Evans…
