Desperate Measures

Chapter Seven

CYRUS HOMELESS SHELTER CRIME SCENE

The crime scene unit had finally arrived somewhat after dinner time. Richard Castle, Beckett, and the detectives along with the crime scene unit were going over the area in a fine tooth comb for any type of clues.

Sammy's body is placed inside the coroner's van with his entire body covered in a black plastic bag to be taken to the coroner's bay to have an autopsy done with no family at all. Castle would be the one to permit since he's known Sammy Brown Lewis for a long time coming from the Bronx.

Doctor Lisa Anderson and her assistant Andrea working part-time had everything placed in the van before heading out.

It was going to be hard to leave with the foot traffic from the homeless shelter, police, and the public, along with several film crews from the various TV stations in New York City.

"Doctor Anderson, we can probably leave now with the police pushing everyone out of the area for a change." The blonde assistant will say with asking her to get into the front seat while she is driving.

"Fine." She says with a slight groin out of her mouth having to be tired, hungry, and most of all thirsty. She will be doing all three before starting the autopsy on Sammy. She knows that Richard Castle is extremely upset at his friend having to be shot and killed by the serial killer.

Castle had received another phone call earlier from Anthony Morrison as Beckett, Esposito, and Ryan tried to figure out the location of where Morrison just might be calling.

However, there wasn't any luck with the location. But Castle decided to head to the coroner's bay to say a proper goodbye to his friend.

Doctor Lisa Anderson having received the call from Castle without the knowledge of Captain Beckett. She will have Sammy Brown Lewis on the table for now. Since she had finished writing up a full report to those involved with the serial murder case.

Doctor Anderson waited in her office. When there was a knock on her door, Andrea was her assistant. "Doctor Anderson, Castle is here to see the body of Sammy Brown." She tells her with sincere concern in her voice.

"I will be right there Andrea. Are you finished with labeling everything for the lab?" she tells her with the question.

"Yes, I have finished with the labeling. I will be driving on over to the lab to drop the samples off. I will be back as soon as possible." She says.

"Take your time. I don't need you to wind up in an accident." Lisa remarked while watching her leave.

Doctor Anderson walked over to Richard Castle praying to his friend with holding his cold hand on the slab.

"Are you alright Mr. Castle?" she had to ask with the sensitive nature of the question.

Castle had a single tear falling down his cheeks knowing that he was wrong with getting Sammy involved in the first place." He cried out in his low tone voice.

Talking to Sammy. "I am so sorry to get yourself killed in this matter with the serial killer. I am going after Morrison, myself. I can't say a word to anyone once Morrison calls me again." He says with tears still falling down his cheeks.

It was at this point that Doctor Anderson called out to him standing in front of the slab with his dead friend.

"Are you alright Richard Castle?" she asked nicely.

He jumps slightly at her voice. "I am fine Doctor Anderson. Please make sure that Sammy is cremated and buried in the Mount Calvary cemetery in New Jersey." He tells her by handing her an envelope filled with money for the cremation and other expenses.

"I will do my best Mr. Castle. It's just a damn shame that something like this had to happen to your friend." She remarked taking the vanilla envelope from his hand before walking away from the coroner's bay in search of the serial killer.
