Bare as the day he was born, Natsu stood under a never-ending stream of water that ran down his toned back. His hands rested against against the white slippery tiles surrounding the room. His thoughts were nothing but a jumble, digging, screaming for a resolution to his inner turmoil.

Changes never stopped coming in many waves. Dying was one thing, being resurrected by an unknown entity known as the system was another. His hands clenched into fists, tightly locking them together till his knuckles were white. These hands were coated in ash and blood, something Natsu thought he'd ever say. He watched as the dirt emptied into the drain, mixing in a color of crimson.

A puddle rested at his, reflecting the very person he's now become. His hair that was spiked since the day he was born, now matted down by an unknown force. The scars that tore across his body, mutilating its perfection. There were so many battles, so many struggles that pushed him to the edge of everything.

Blood Dagger, Draconis, the monsters of an unknown world. He's been bitten, stabbed, clawed, lost limbs, and regenerated them like a lizard. It begged the question if there was truly a shed of humanity left in his body.

"You speak like a mage in the light, but what are you using? Darkness~"

Natsu clenched his eyes tightly, lifting his hands to bury his hands into his scalp. Screams of agony rung through his ears, making his legs shake underneath him, afraid to buckle underneath the overwhelming pressure that weighed down on his body.

"G-get away from me!"

"Mercy!"

"Y-You're a monster!"

His lip quivered, hearing his own voice speak in his head with zero emotion.

"Mercy comes to those who deserve it. You deserve to burn in hell..."

"AHHHHH!!!!"

"S-stop.." Natsu spoke in a shaky breath, feeling his heart constrict, leaving very little air to breathe. "I'm not a monster, I'm not... the system made me do this.. I wouldn't do this!"

Natsu's breath grew heavy, listening to the screams of many people he slaughtered in cold blood. The howls of beasts that fell to his blade. His fingers dug into his scalp with clenched teeth. His body shook with each scream, every dying breath his victims took. They haunted him, pushed him to the brink of insanity. What was right? What was wrong? Natsu didn't know that answer any longer. Tears ran down his cheeks without consent, mixing in with the shower head's springs.

Their screams only grew louder. His eyes snapped open, releasing his grip from his head, smashing his fist into the tile, watching it crack under the pressure, breathing heavily under his nose.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around his waist, a head of scarlet hair tickling the back of his neck. The smell of strawberries enriched his senses that made his arms fall to his sides, slumping against her chest. Her cold bare skin pressed against his own, bringing a relief he didn't think he even needed. Her grip was tight, a small whimper escaping her lips under the falling water.

"Erza..."

"I'm here Natsu, I'm here..."

Her angelic voice was music to his ears. His hands rested around her own with a weak smile. Natsu slowly turned his body around to face his lover, who lifted her head to meet his onyx orbs. No words were said between the two, only their eyes spoke a thousand words. She slowly stepped towards him, wrapping one arm around his back, while the other raised to stroke away the tears that permanently stained his cheeks. He closed his eyes, leaning into her gentle touch.

The voices slowly dissapeared into the void of his own mind. A sigh of relief and content escaped his lips.

His scarlet angel had scared them away.

Erza watched with a smile as his face contorted from pain to that of relief, peace that he desperately craved. Even if she didn't know what was wrong. She was glad to know her touch, sent the demons that haunted him every waking moment away. He was tired, that much was obvious. The tenseness in his shoulders, his stiff body that was still as a board. Her dragon was suffering, but she could only hope to be the remedy to his problems.

Natsu slowly opened his eyes to meet her lovers gaze. His expression softened, lifting a callused hand to press against her soft skin with a smile. His eyes lowered, noticing her body free of clothing to admire everything that made Erza Scarlet perfect.

She noticed his eyes wander with a small giggle from her lips. Erza used a finger to tilt his chin to meet his gaze with a smirk curving across her lips. "Eyes up here Mr."

"Heh.. sorry, I couldn't help myself."

The knight rolled her eyes at his playful antics. She stood on her tippy toes to capture his lips, feeling his arms snake around her waist to pull her closer. Her body melted against his own, feeling his warm fingers sink into her flesh, eliciting a small moan from her. She pulled away before Natsu could push it any farther with a hand pressed to his chest. He wined in protest, but her hands cupped his cheeks, staring deeply into his eyes that bore secrets she wished to uncover.

"What is on your mind Natsu? No amount of kissing or sex will deter me." Erza spoke in a stern tone, her brows furrowing in a sharp glare that made Natsu's body tense under her gaze. "I suggest you start talking, now."

Natsu released his hold from her, clenching his fists tightly. A mixture of emotions ran through his body, many Erza understood as much as any. He stared deep into her carmel brown eyes that brought him comfort when he needed it most.

"I..."

He bit his lip tightly, shaking his head with a small whimper. It was truly pathetic to see himself like this. The firey dragon slayer that always had a grin on his face, was now crying, broken minded, unsure of what in the world he was doing anymore. Natsu felt a pair of hands interlock with his own.

"Talk to me... as your lover, I should know everything that's bothering you so I can help."

Erza sounded desperate, reaching out to her lover before he fell back into the abyssal darkness. She clung to his hands, afraid to let go of him, afraid he'll slip away again.

"But how can you help?" He muttered under his breath, keeping his unsteady eyes on her own with a deep frown. "How can you help a monster that only kills... burns things to ashes. I'm not the Natsu you know anymore... w-why do you stay with something like m-"

A loud snap rung through the air as Natsu clutched onto his red cheek with wide eyes. Erza's glare grew into something far more deadly, a small red aura covering her body as she shoved his body against the cold tile that sent goosebumps up his spine.

"You should know why I stay Natsu!"

He closed his eyes tightly, awaiting another blow that never came. A pair of lips pressed against his own, hands caressing his shaking body. She pulled away with a beaming, loving smile that made his heart skip a beat. "We've been over this dummy... it doesn't matter who, or what you are now. When I look into those eyes of yours, you know what I see?"

"W-what?" Natsu squeaked out, feeling his heart hammer in his chest as her face loomed inches from his own, her eyes burning into his.

"I see the same boy I met." Erza's smile made his body grow still, bathing in the light that radiated off of her. "The same scraggly haired boy with nothing but rags for clothes, preaching to the heavens above about his father being a dragon. That boy has never left you, Natsu," her hands gently caressed his cheeks, eliciting a small rumble from the man. "He's just become lost, afraid of what's happening around him. Yes... you've done things that I never thought you would ever do.." she clenched onto his cheeks, lowering her head. "You've said things that sound other worldly when you put it into a different perspective, but regardless of all that I'm still here."

"E-erza I-"

She pressed her fingers against his lips with a loving smile adorned across her pink lips. "Darkness... light, whatever path is you have to take I will follow you without hesitation. You think you have to play this solo, but I'm not going to let you. It's you and me," Erza inched her lips close to his, her breath brushing against his lips. "Together until the end..."

Erza closed the gap between them, pressing her lips tightly against his. Natsu closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around her waist to press their bodies tightly together. She tilted her head to deepen their lip lock, pouring every bit of passion and love she had into this moment.

Natsu melted against her, happy tears leaking down his cheeks.

What became passion, became pure unadulterated hunger between the two. Their breathing grew heavy, their tongues clashed against one another for a dominance they both seeked. Natsu's hands reached up to bury into her silky scarlet hair, causing a small moan from the knight.

Their wet, slick bodies melded against each other, leaving no gap. Too say this bath was going to be a long one was an understatement to say the least.

They pulled away for breath, pressing their foreheads together with loving smiles and flushed cheeks.

"I... I love you Erza.."

"And I love you Natsu, my heart has never been more full than it is now to have you to myself."

They stared into each other's eyes with love, lust and want for each other.

Erza reached down to rub below his waist with a devious smirk. "Are you wanting to get out anytime soon?" She purred against his ear in a sultry whisper that made his hairs stand on end.

"Not in the slightest." An inhuman growl escaped his lips, sending shivers down her spine.

"Then take your treasure, my dragon~"

"With absolute pleasure~"

Moans and groans filled the air, filling the room with a thick steam that blinded anyone from seeing two lovers who engaged in the fireyest of passions that put many to shame.

(If you thought that was gonna be smut, I am so sorry. But that was a one time thing. Maybe if I gain more confidence, another will happen, but no promises ;) )

Months had long since passed, time flowing by within seconds. With time, came strength, with strength, became power.

Natsu had become relentless in his pursuit of greater power, but his lover Erza didn't let him do it alone. He entered countless gates, slaughtering the monsters within without a sweat drop to fall from his body. His power had grown exponentially over the course of a few months, his levels sky rocketing to greater heights. It truly scared him now at the potential he wielded.

At first he thought there was a stopping point. Maybe he would stop leveling up, stop growing in never-ending strength, but his expectations were blown out of the water. Natsu had grown into something more, something that bended the rules of his own world. He felt like a god among humans if that was even possible to begin with.

If you would've put this Natsu against the forces of Alvarez, Acnologia, Zeref. He would put them all to shame, bury their bodies into the ground, litter the battle field with fire and brimstone.

Erza watched his progress steady with the eyes of a hawk. She could feel the difference in great margins. The heat that produced off his body, nearly scorched her skin on contact, or even if she stood a foot away from him. He continued to use the blade Draconis gave him, carving away beasts with the purest intent to kill. Team Natsu stayed by his side, even going into these 'gates' as he now called them. With fair warning, they were severely unmatched.

But Fairy Tail was a wizards guild and with guild's came work. Makarov demanded his children start taking jobs once more, even shoving Nab out the door with a request he didn't choose. Gates became few and far between, only appearing every so often, giving Natsu some what of a break.

His appearance had taken on another change. The rose colored hair on top of his head was cut slightly shorter, not by a huge amount but enough to see change. The muscles that grew overtime in his arms and chest, even toning down the chub in his face.

Erza certainly didn't complain of the results.

Natsu now stood in an open field, ditching away his black sweater for a crimson long sleeve t-shirt that hugged his body tightly, showing off the many muscles his body now contained with black pants, and combat boots to make the fit. His red draconic narrowed eyes watched as a lance made of ice streamed past his cheek, landing behind him.

Gray, his rival gritted his teeth together as he punched his palm into his other hand, reeling back with an icy aura to follow.

Ice Make: Geyser!

He slammed his hands into the ground, causing spikes of ice to erupt towards Natsu who simply with the flick of his hand, crimson flames completely swallowed his creation, leaving nothing but steam and a puddle of water. "Is that really all you got, Gray?" He taunted, raising his hand to beckon the ice maker forward with a little smirk. "Come on, show me what you can really do!"

"You asked for it Torch head!" Gray dashed forward towards Natsu who stood there, awaiting his opponent. With a slap to his palm, he unsheathed a large blade made purely of ice, gripping it in both hands.

Ice Make: Cold Excalibur!

Natsu raised his palms, tightening his stance as Gray brought down his blade. His body shifted from side to side, watching as Gray desperately tried to make an impact with clenched teeth. Everything moved in slow motion as his palm struck Gray's blade down, landing a clean gut punch that sent the ice mage careening back against the ground with a loud grunt.

His ears perked up, raising his palm in a fluid motion to meet the eyes an armor clad Erza Scarlet. Natsu's bursted forth from his flames, clashing against hers, sparks flying across the air. "How nice of you to join us Ms. Scarlet," he teased with a bright toothy grin.

"Good to be here, Mr. Dragneel," she returned his smirk in return as both of them leaped back.

Natsu shot his arm out, catching an arrow made of ice, giving Gray a side eye glance. "Really?"

Gray shrugged, "couldn't hurt to try flamebrain."

He rolled his eyes, before raising his blade to meet Erza's.

"Don't take your eyes off your opponent Natsu!"

"I have eyes everywhere. But nice try," Natsu grinned, shoving her back before they went back and forth. Whatever angle she swung, he met it head on. She blocked his strikes, he blocked hers.

They moved like blurs, slashing back and forth like a never-ending dance. Their eyes were focused, watching each other's movement by every way. Erza summoned another sword in her other hand, twirling on her feet to push against Natsu who moved side to side, ducking under a swipe that he returned with a flaming kick that knocked both weapons from her grasp.

She clenched her fists, taking on an offensive stance. Natsu ditched his blade, raising his fists with a feral grin. They rushed each other's, their fists clashing together, causing a small shock wave that sent many spectators falling over, except for Draconis who watched the battle intently with Asuka in his lap, giggling in glee.

Erza tried everything she could to land a blow, but he always was one step ahead, moving against her strikes. She threw a hard jab, he met it with a counter of his elbow. She could tell he was holding back, but she continued on switching her hands back and forth to try to throw him off. She lifted her leg to send a hard kick against his ribs, but he fluently caught it with his right hand, lifting her completely off the ground before slamming her body down into a crater.

Erza gasped for air, feeling all of it get knocked out of her lungs from the blow.

Natsu's ears perked up, noticing a sliver of orange hair enter his peripheral vision. A glimmer of radiant light struck his palm as he turned to face Loke, who's eyes widened in shock. "Hey there, you want a turn now?"

"W-woah Natsu they weren't kidding how much stronger you've gotten..."

The slayer shrugged with a tiny grin. "You've barely seen what I can possibly do... now," he lifted his boot to slam against the lion spirit's chest, sending him flying back. Crimson flames coated his arms as he tore off the ground, meeting Loke head on with a right hook, which he barely grazed by countering with a regulus impact.

Natsu took it head on, skidding back against the ground with barely scratch against his skin. He brushed the dirt from his shirt, cracking his knuckles. His ear twitched, hearing footsteps behind him.

Regulus Lucy Impact!

He sharply turned, catching Lucy's fist with a chuckle. "Nice try, Luce."

Lucy's eyes shot wide open, feeling her skin pale staring into the red draconic eyes of Natsu. She was in the jaws, now it was time for the bite. Taking a hold of her arm with both hands, he threw her over his head, slamming her into the ground as she let out a sharp gasp, her Leo star dress, giving out. Natsu moved his head to the side, watching as Loke grazed by with gritted teeth, before Natsu sent a hard chop to the back of his neck, rendering him completely unconcious.

"H-has Natsu really gotten this strong? This is insane!" Jet exclaimed, watching with a slacked jaw along with his partner, Droy.

Gajeel gritted his fangs together, grinding them to dust with a small growl. "Damn you Salamander..."

Levy chuckled nervously, patting her boyfriend in moral support. "It'll be okay Gajeel, you have other responsibilities now... remember?"

"Yeah yeah yeah..." He grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest as everyone chuckled in amusement.

Makarov and Laxus watched the battle intently, neither speaking a word or any sort of commentary. They didn't need to, Natsu was demonstrating just a mere fraction of his strength, and that thought was purely terrifying. He was above S class, way above it if he could man handle Erza the way that he has.

Team Natsu would report to the master on the daily. Tell him about their missions, about Natsu's condition. Most were positive, other's negative. Erza hated keeping this from him, but with the breakdown she watched him have mere months ago it wasn't unwarranted. Gray had the same sentiment on the matter, but it was all in the good of Natsu. Didn't mean they didn't feel guilty about their actions.

Natsu had but a moment to react, shifting his body to catch Gray's ice covered gauntlet knuckles with his palm. Gray's eyes widened, feeling a flaming fist sink into his chest, knocking the air from his lungs before the slayer sent him off his a side kick. "Come on stripper! If you don't start upping the antie I'm gonna have to end this fight before you get really hurt," he cooed in a taunting tone, a big cocky grin placed across his lips.

Black tendrils sprouted from Gray's body, enveloping half his chest and arm. His raven hair spiking up with frosted tips as the temperature began to plummet around everyone. "Alright, Natsu. You want more? I'll give you more!"

Crimson flames erupted from Natsu's body, challenging the cold chill in a state of dominance. Many spectators either shivered or poured sweat from their bodies. Both took off against the ground to meet the other in a clash of arms that tore a ground away in a small shockwave. They went back and forth, fist for fist, kick for kick. Only Natsu was much faster, his flames overwhelming the ethereal ice that devoured Gray's form.

Erza coughed, standing up off the ground as her body was bathed in a golden glow, revealing to be a leather armor with cheetah prints, including a set of ears on top of her head.

Re-Quip: Flight Armor!

She took off against the ground to meet both brothers head on with a wide grin. Natsu jumped back, watching as she narrowly missed his ribs with a slash of her sword. He skidded across the ground, noticing both Erza and Gray take a stance together. "Two on one? Sounds fair enough," he shrugged, taking off as the others did.

Gray reeled back, summoning a long blade made purely of ethereal ice, rushing towards Natsu with a roar in his lungs. Erza followed suit, summoning a wide head spear to replace her sword. Natsu summoned his own weapon, meeting them head on with a clash of blue flames.

The knight gritted her teeth, feeling the flames lick at her skin, singing it beyond the normal temperature. She jumped back in a golden glow, now wearing a dragon plated armor that exposed her stomach and thighs, along with a crown on top of her head. Her hair was tied into tight pigtails.

Re-Quip: Flame Empress Armor!

Natsu ducked under his Gray's sword, slicing upward to knock it out of his grasp before reeling his head back for a nasty head butt. Gray grunted, stumbling backwards as Natsu went on the pursuit. A small grin appeared on Gray's lips as the slayer raised a brow.

"Gotcha..."

Before Natsu could even react, ice surrounded the ground below him, covering his body entirely in ice as he stood there like a statue with wide eyes.

Gray relased a breath, rubbing his broken nose that dripped with blood, groaning under his breath. "Damn it that fucking hurt... his head is made of steel..."

Erza slowly approached the ice statue of Natsu with utter caution. "Are you sure you got him?"

"Positive... that's demon slayer ice. He's not..-"

A cracking sound could be heard as Gray sharply turned his head towards Natsu's statue of ice with wide eyes. Water began to drip, forming a small puddle. Crimson flames poked out on all sides as his body shook violently.

"No way..."

With a inhuman roar, Natsu shattered the ethereal ice, his flames rising to new heights as everyone took a hesitant step back. Erza put herself back on guard, narrowing her stance as Gray created distance from himself and Natsu.

"I'll admit..." Natsu muttered, patting down his clothes that evaporated the liquid from his body with a small smirk. "That was a nice trick stripper, I'll give credit where credit is do. But... my flames can melt even.. that ice."

An exasperated sigh left the ice mage's lips, rubbing his nose of blood. "Of course it can.. why am I even surprised at this point?"

Natsu snickered, gliding his eyes over towards Erza with a wolf whistle. "Looking good love. You wanna test to see your armor can hold up?"

Erza rolled her eyes, raising her blade with a playful glare. "Gladly."

Blue flames replaced crimson, covering his entire body as he glowed in the sunlight. Many covered their eyes to its harsh rays. In a flash, Natsu dissapeared in a ball of flames, reappearing in front of Erza who's eyes shot wide open, raising her sword to block his strike. Natsu held nothing back, smashing his fist against the metal that cracked under the pressure, before shattering away as his fist landed in her chest, cracking her armor. With a flurry of blows, cracks appeared all over her armor as she let out a shrill scream, before Natsu shoved his flaming foot into her gut, sending her flying away as pieces of her armor came apart on all ends before completely shattering.

Erza's body tumbled across the ground, rolling to a stop as she was left in nothing but her white blouse and blue skirt. Bruises and burns littered her body as she gritted her teeth, trying her best to get up to no avail.

"Sorry love! I'll make it up to you I swear."

Sky Dragon's Roar!

A funnel of wind hit Natsu in the back, sending him skidding forward a few inches. He slowly turned his head towards Wendy who's eyes shrunk in fear of the draconic slits that stared through her soul. "You call that a roar Wendy?" He turned completely in her direction with a feral grin. "I'll show you a roar..."

Natsu sucked in the air around him, his cheeks and stomach bulging out to inhuman proportions. The ground shook violently as many spectators lost their balance. Crimson flames bathed his body in a dark glow.

Fire Dragon Monarch's... ROOOOOOAR!!!!!

A giant torrent of crimson flames, expanding the size of a tital wave erupted from Natsu's mouth, swallowing the land in front of him. Wendy was frozen still with wide eyes, watching as the roar that was the magnitude of a Dragon's came barreling towards her.

"Wendy get out of there!" Lucy screamed out for her in vain, knowing her pleas were left on empty ears.

"W-wendy..." Erza muttered with gritted teeth, trying her best to stand.

A black blur flew past Natsu, standing in front of Wendy.

Ice Devil's Zeroth Long Sword!

Gray summoned his demonic blade, clashing against Natsu's flames with gritted teeth. His heels dug firmly into the ground. With a roar out of his lungs, he sliced through the middle of the tunnel of hell-filled flames, splitting it down the middle as it flew past Gray and Wendy, catching the field on fire. He dropped to his knees, his slayer tattoo giving out with a small grunt. "Damn..." he heaved, his body falling forward. "Idiot..." his body collapsed on the ground with an annoyed groan.

Natsu sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck with a small chuckle. "I... may of overdone it.. just a little."

"JUST A LITTLE?!" The crowd exclaimed with slacked jaws, noticing half of the field was completely scorched into an ashy plain.

Walking over towards his lover, he reached down to grab a hold of his lover, pulling her off the ground into his arms in a bridal style hold. "Sorry for overdoing it love," he nuzzled her cheek like an innocent puppy. "Forgive me?"

Erza smiled, patting his head with love and affection. "I can forgive you.. as long as I get my strawberry cheese cake."

"Done deal."

She giggled as he placed her on the ground, glancing over towards Gray who groaned, sitting up off the ground. "He... may not be so forgiving."

"Your damn right I won't! That fucking HURT!"

"See?" Natsu gestured with his arms as Erza couldn't help but chuckle at their antics, a thing she missed more than life itself.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. Natsu's head slowly turned with narrowed eyes as did Erza and the others.

Out in the distance the sky grew darker than the abyss. Red lightning crackled across the sky with a loud rumble of thunder.

"What is that?!" Lucy shrieked with wide eyes, pointing out in the distance. "T-that isn't what I think it is... is it?"

Natsu stood in front of Erza protectively, his hands bursting into crimson flames.

A red ball formed into the sky, crackling with unstable energy before slamming into the ground, enlarging it's self into a giant gate that let off distant whispers.

"A red gate?" Natsu questioned outloud, tightening his fists with a growl under his breath. He turned towards Makarov with a knowing look. "Gramps... get everyone out of here NOW!"

"You heard the boy! Everyone back to the guild. Natsu can handle this!"

Everyone voiced their protests, insisting they stay and fight whatever was to come, until they noticed a death glare from Natsu.

"Go... NOW!" His voice boomed off the ground, sending everyone heading for the hills in an instant.

"U-uncle Natsu?"

Natsu's gaze softened, noticing Asuka close to tears. "Go on sweety, go with your mommy and daddy. We'll be okay," he gave her a reassuring grin with a thumbs up. "Promise."

The little cowgirl nodded her head obediently, following her parents as Draconis met Natsu by his side.

"Natsu.." Erza slowly peaked over his shoulder with a deep frown. "What is that?"

"I.. I don't know.."

Distant hisses and screams came from the gate. The pitter patter of footsteps could be heard steadily approaching as Natsu summoned his blade in hand with a snarl.

"But I have a feeling we're about to find out."

I hope I didn't screw up my math on his stats too bad. It's getting difficult the more levels he goes. Multiplying his levels by five points he gains, including the three he gets from strength training. Math is hard, okay? ;( Anyway, I figured when I made this fic to be this extra for the people that love Solo Leveling, and stat distribution.

Cliff hangers suck don't they? Anyway, this sparring session was basically a demonstration of how much stronger Natsu has become. He is essentially in a league of his own now. Erza couldn't best him, Gray couldn't freeze him, Lucy couldn't even hope to beat him, and Wendy wouldn't dare challenge him.

Next time, a red gate appears, bringing new fiends in it's wake. Team Natsu and Draconis take their stand.

Big shout out to two viewers who put a comment on chapter 23.

mairsarmy321: Thank you so much for your kind words. It warms my heart to know you like this story, and wish for me not give up on it. Honestly, you have no idea how much I needed these words as I writing this chapter. You gave me the confidence to finish it.

One more and I know he doesn't review, but we talk in pms.

WordsByMarro: Dude, you have been the biggest inspiration for me to keep writing. Your Natza stories are truly a work of art. Your feedback has been nothing but helpful in all of I've written thus far. If none of you haven't already, please check this guy out. He's an amazing author who keeps pushing me to do better for you guys.

That's all I really need is some reviews guys. It really makes a lot of authors day to see feedback on any chapter they post. Gives them a confidence they can't get when they don't know if their readers love or hate their story.

Anyway, as always I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I'll see you all in the next one. Later :)

Side Note: May update The Only Thing I Have Left tonight, not sure.
