Chapter 7 : Recreation

Today was Imelda's day off and she had something on her mind after Héctor had proposed to do the renewal of their wedding vows she wanted something to make her remember when she first got married, she just needed a little help.
Earlier that morning she looked at a photo on her bedside table that she had recalled from the ofrenda in the living world; 2 years ago as it showed her in a beautiful white dress her smiling along with Héctor in his Mariachi style tuxedo she chuckled at the photo and smiled.
She looked beautiful in a white wedding dress with long lace sleeves covered in floral print and open neckline , A lace waist and a beautiful flowing skirt at the bottom.
"Ay I forgot how I looked". She sighed
She chuckled at the memory of Héctor not taking his eyes of her as soon as she walked down that isle he was blushing at the sight of her.
So today she decided to ask Ceci to redesign her old wedding dress she had to admit it was quite exciting and she felt young again.
When she went over to the district she was met with smiles as put down the sewing needle to go and hug he best friend.
"Melda how lovely to see you I was wondering when you would be back". Ceci smiled
Imelda smiles and sighed.
"So What can I help with Amiga?" She asked
"Actually I need your help with this Héctor and I decided to renew our wedding vows". Imelda explains
"Oh that's wonderful ". Ceci exclaimed
Imelda took out her book and turned to the page with the design of her wedding dress on it and she smiled.
Ceci smiled and gasped at the sight and then chuckled.
"You want my help redesigning your wedding dress?" Ceci asked
"Si, if that's not too much to ask". She smiled
"I would be honoured Melda". Ceci smiled
Imelda smiled and chuckled lightly .
"Oh Héctor is going freak out when he sees you in this dress". Ceci said
"That's the plan". Imelda winked
"So do you think you can do it?" Imelda added
"It'll be a piece of cake". She stated
"Great ". Imelda smiled
"So When is the renewal? She asked
"We haven't figured that out yet but when we do I'll let you know". Imelda smirked
"Good because I would love to see you two". Ceci smiled
"I promise ". She replied
She exited the department saying her goodbyes and waving she couldn't wait until the dress was actually done and she could show it off. She took the flight back on Pepita and smiled all the way back when they landed she walked in expecting a mess but to her surprise it was the same way she left the family.
"Where have you been?" Oscar asked
"Out to the market if it's any of your business ". She retorted
"It's noon are you sure you're okay". Felipe said
Imelda rolled her eyes and went to the shoe shop and she saw Victoria finishing the last order of the day along with Rosita and julio and smiled.
"Mamá Imelda are you okay?" Rosita asked
Imelda nodded and smiled
"More than fine Mija, to be honest I thought this was going to be a mess when I got back". Imelda smirked
"Oh please, like we'd ever leave this place a mess". Victoria said
"We know better than that". Julio smiled
Imelda smiled kissed Victoria on the cheek and then went outside and to her surprise Héctor was sitting in the sun with Coco and they were talking .
"Well, isn't this a surprise I come back home the house isn't a mess and everything seems fine I'm surprised something didn't explode ". She spoke up
Coco and Héctor turn their heads and smile as she stands there.
"We know you would ask that". Coco laughed
"Just so how much we love you and know you ". She adds
"Don't get smug Mija ". Imelda laughed
"Me smug never". She shooed
Coco then got up kissed her mother on the cheek and went inside to go and help with lunch and left the two alone. Imelda then sat down to where Coco Just was and smiled at Héctor and he smiled back.
"She gets this from you ". Imelda smirked
"And I think she's proud of it". Héctor smiled
To change the subject he turned to her and chuckled.
"Where have you been all afternoon?" He asked
"Ceci's why do you ask?" She grew back in his face
Héctor smiled but wasn't surprised by this as they were best friends, Imelda smiled at him and sighed.
"To be fair I did lie to the boys". Imelda said
"I knew that you were cheeky, but why Ceci ". Héctor questioned
"You'll just have to find out on your own". Imelda smirked and cuddled close to him and smiled
Héctor sighed knowing this was never going to work with her he wondered if it was punishment for keeping it a secret for this long from her. So she asked him and she laughed and shook her head.
"What no, Maybe?" She questioned
"Is that a yes". He asked
She smiled and shook her head at his antics knowing that this was going to end in laughter.
"You'll just have to wait and see". She winked
Héctor smiled and looked surprised at that comment.
"Who are you and what have you done with my wife?" He asked
She laughed and lightly slapped his arm and smiled as she leaned her head on his shoulder and chuckled.
Sometimes what's left best unsaid is the best part…
