Hi Readers: My apologies for having deleted a couple chapters. However, I ended up getting a bit lost as to how to continue my story. So, I decided to go back and change some things. Hopefully, you like what I decided to do. Let me know what you think.
Chapter 7
Casey Home, Chicago – October 4, 2018 – He had a list of chores to do before he and Gabby left the next morning on their Cancun honeymoon. The honeymoon he's owed her for the longest time, and which he couldn't wait to go to. Two, beautiful months with his gorgeous wife in Mexico, where they could be alone and just take it easy. Though, he couldn't understand this nagging feeling he had in his head as he and Gabby laid down in their bed shortly after getting ready for bed that something was wrong. Something was utterly wrong about one major thing: the price of the vacation which he paid for the resort, especially with the ads which were currently playing on TV. The reason why he was so confused? He was only paying less than $200 a night for an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. A resort which was nothing like the resort he was looking at on TV: Sandals Royal Bahamian.
Their advertised rate? Over $1,000. If that was the advertised rate for an all-inclusive, romantic resort in the Bahamas; then, why would it be the same (or more) in Mexico when he reserved a mini condo there. After all, they were going to be living there for a couple months, until December. And that was precisely what Matt was thinking about at the moment as Gabby spoke to him. "Matt!" Turning his head when he heard Gabby yell out for him, Matt was confused. "Oh, did you say something, babe?" Gabby looked at Matt when he said that, as she was worried. "Ok. Something's wrong. You have to be worried about something. Is it our place? I thought you were okay with the idea I had to rent it out as an Airbnb while we were gone, rather than just have it sit empty and costing us money?" Matt sighed, as he was okay with it. That wasn't the problem. "That's not the problem." Gabby agreed.
After which, she decided to look at her husband. "Well, then what is?" Matt sighed as he decided to rewind the TV he was watching, only to look at the advertised price of the resort in the Bahamas. "Ok. Here, this is something that's bugging me." Turning her head, Gabby looked at the resort and smiled. "Let me guess, you want to take me there instead? Babe, it's too late to cancel." Matt shook his head. "No, that's not the thing. It's just…I have this gut feeling that I may have made a mistake when it came to the reservations." Matt said, truly worried; though, Gabby thought he was just scared to leave the country. "Don't you dare, Casey. I get that you're a Chicago guy, and I know that you've never left the country before. But, you promised me a honeymoon where we can get pregnant." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Yes, but now I'm wondering whether I really booked a hotel that was out of the country."
Looking at Matt when he said that, Gabby thought he was losing his mind. "What are you talking about?" Matt sighed as he decided to sit up and look at his wife. "Gabby, I thought I booked The Cancun Resort Club by Four Seasons in Cancun, Mexico." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, as she thought the same thing. "Yeah, me too. What's wrong?" Matt sighed. "Gabby, look at the advertised price there for Sandals." Turning her head, Gabby saw the price. "Wow, that's expensive." Matt agreed with his wife. "Yeah. That's around a thousand per day, per person." Gabby agreed with her husband. "What does this have to do with our honeymoon?" Matt sighed. "Gabby, we're scheduled to pay around $250 per day for the both of us, in a suite, at a Four Seasons in Cancun, Mexico." Gabby then starting to realize why Matt was worried: the price discrepancy which they were seeing. "I mean, doesn't that worry you?"
Gabby sighed, as it was starting to worry her now that she actually thought about it. If a hotel like Sandals in the Bahamas cost around $1,000 per person, per night; then, how could a similar hotel in Cancun only charge $250 per night for the both of them? "Ok. Now I see what you're saying." Matt took a breath as he heard Gabby say that, as he thought that he was going crazy. "Thank god, I thought I was going crazy and losing my mind. It just…listen, I want to just make sure that I got everything right. Gabby, the last thing I want to do is take you to this crappy, off-beach, run down hotel in Cancun. If we're only paying $250 per night, then that worries me." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that. "Then, what do you want to do?" Matt sighed. "Gabby, I need to double check where we're actually going. I booked us tickets in first class to go to Cancun, Mexico." Gabby took a breath. "Why are you so worried?"
Matt bit his lip. "Because I don't want to let you down." Confused when she heard Matt say that, Gabby decided to walk around their bed so that she could talk to her loving husband. "Hey, you could never fail me. You know that." Matt looked at Gabby when she said that, as they both knew that wasn't the truth. "Because I didn't fail you when it came to me stepping up with Louie? When it came to me not letting Sylvie hurt you the way she did?" Gabby sighed, as she knew that Matt still held that against himself; even though, she didn't think he should. Rather, she thought that he should take it easy and relax. "Hey, take it easy baby. Don't blame yourself for everything that happened. I already forgave you, so that means that you can forgive yourself. Okay?" Matt agreed as Gabby said that, only to watch her make her way over to him. After which, she sat down in front of him and smiled at him.
Meanwhile, he moved his hand to her neck as he stared into her eyes. "Did I ever tell you just how much I love you, and how lucky I am to be your husband?" Gabby agreed, as she knew that he was a lucky man. "Oh, I know that you're a lucky man. And you better remember that's the case for the rest of your life." Matt nodded, as he most certainly will remember it for the rest of his life. "Believe me, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to that. I'll remember just how lucky I am to be your husband until my dying breath." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, glad that he felt that way as she got close to him and leaned in to kiss him softly. Meanwhile, Matt took things nice and slow with the woman he loves as he placed his hand on her neck. "Listen, do you want to stop packing so that I can check just where we're headed? That way, you know what type of weather to pack for?"
Gabby laughed as Matt said that. "Oh, baby. There's no way we're going to Vegas. You need to know that. Vegas isn't a honeymoon." Matt agreed with his gorgeous wife, as he knew that was the case. "I know, and it's the last place I want to take you for us to be able to talk. I know we already started talking and stuff, but I know for a fact that we need to talk more. And I promise, we will talk more about everything, babe." Gabby agreed, glad that was the case. "Just like we need to figure out when we're going to start a family. Do you really not want to start right away?" Matt shrugged, as he wasn't sure what he wanted to do yet. "I'm not sure yet. I think we should wait a bit though, so that we can figure out what we're doing with the living situation. I mean, do you want to stay here?" Gabby sighed, as she knew that was something they needed to talk about. "Let's not talk about that now. Vacation for now."
Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, only to reach into his side table to grab his iPad. "Why are you grabbing your iPad?" Matt sighed. "I have the receipt in my e-mail, which means that I can check right away. It's easier to just check there, than have to call the hotel and make them find the reservation." Gabby agreed, as that most certainly is the truth. "And that's why I have such a smart husband." Gabby said, smiling as she made her way over to her closet to grab some sweats she can wear regardless of where they end up going. Meanwhile, Matt went to open his iPad to check his e-mail and see whether he has a receipt from the hotel he booked.

And upon reading the e-mail, Matt's heard just sunk due to the fact that he made a mistake. "FUCK!" He said, feeling like such an idiot. Meanwhile, Gabby got close to her husband and rubbed his back. "Hey, what's wrong, babe?" Matt sighed as he turned to look at his wife. "I'm such an idiot." Gabby shook her head, as he wasn't an idiot. "No, you aren't an idiot. Baby, what's wrong?" Matt sighed. "I booked the Cancun Las Vegas, a Hilton Vacation Club Resort. Not a resort in Cancun." Gabby then realized why he was calling himself an idiot. "Oh, baby." Matt nodded. "So, I failed you. I wanted to take you on this grand honeymoon, and I failed you." Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt say that, as that wasn't the truth. "Hey, it's ok. Just come here." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, only to get in bed with her to lay down close to her. Meanwhile, Gabby placed her hands on his face as she held him close.
After which, she kissed him softly and smiled. "At the end of the day, it's the thought that counts, baby. I mean that." Matt sighed as Gabby told him that, as this wasn't what he wanted for them. He didn't want to take her to Las Vegas, he wanted to take her somewhere warm and romantic. "I'm sorry about this. This isn't what I wanted at all. I wanted to take you somewhere warm and romantic, not somewhere like Las Vegas." Gabby agreed with her husband when he said that. "Do you think that the management will understand if you explained what you thought you did? Maybe if you tell them that you were doing it in a panic, so that you could save your marriage…then, they would understand?" Matt bit his lip, as he knew that was the truth. Then again, he didn't want to use their situation just to get out of a bad situation. "Are you sure that you'd be okay with me using our situation to do that?"
Gabby agreed with her husband, as she was more than okay with him doing it due to the fact that it was the truth. They were going away to repair their marriage, which is why he did it so fast. He didn't mean to book this place, so she doesn't feel like they should have to pay when it was a huge mistake. "Baby, of course, I'm okay with that. And I think, if the management knows what you did and why you did it, then they'll understand and maybe give you some of the money back. I mean, they have to if they're human." Matt snickered as Gabby said that, as he didn't know whether he could call managers of Vegas hotels humans. "Babe, the managers of these Vegas hotels are all about making money. So, I highly doubt that they're going to be in a giving mood. They just care about money, and that's it." Gabby agreed with her husband, well aware that was the case as she proceeded to kiss him softly.
After which, she decided to give him a pep talk. "You never know unless you try, which should be our motto. I mean, I never gave up on my quest to be the woman you love and look where I am today. I'm your wife." Matt agreed, as she most certainly is his wife. "That you most certainly are, and I love being your husband." Matt said, as he moved his hand to her hip and leaned in to kiss her softly. "Listen, let me see what I can do. See whether I can try and fix this." Gabby agreed with her husband, as she knew that he could do it. "I believe in you, because you're a sweet talker." Matt smirked, as he most certainly was. "Yes, yes I am. Now, I'm going to try and make this call and see whether I can remedy the situation." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, only to watch him get up to go call the hotel in Las Vegas this evening, as he wanted to fix the entire situation. After all, they weren't going to Las Vegas.
It took him a good thirty minutes, but he was finally able to get through to the manager and make him understand (while also explaining why he wanted to take his wife to Cancun, Mexico); and in the end, he was able to pull on his heart strings and make him upstairs why he wasn't really hoping to go to his hotel. Rather, he was hoping to go to Cancun to fix his marriage. And due to the fact that the money he spent at their hotel was supposed to go to fixing their marriage, he decided to give him a partial refund (90%) which was more than okay with him. Any refund is better than no refund, which is precisely what he knew he was going to have to tell Gabby as he came to join her in their room once more. "So, how did it go?" Matt smiled. "The manager understood. But, he only gave us a 90% refund." Gabby agreed. "Well, that's better than no refund at all." Matt agreed, as he felt the same way.'
A 90% refund is better than no refund at all, which will be processed soon. "Then again, I wouldn't really need the money in the case that he didn't give me a refund." Gabby agreed, as she knew that was true as well. "Tell me about it. So, now that we got that resolved…how are you feeling? Still feel like an idiot?" Matt sighed, as he most certainly does. "Babe, I booked us in a Vegas resort, rather than a resort in Cancun, Mexico. Speaking of which, I may need to cancel those flights too." Gabby sighed, as she knew that was the case. "I guess that means we aren't leaving tomorrow?" Matt sighed, as that was precisely the truth. "Yeah, that's exactly the case; especially since we don't have a hotel in Cancun to go to, even if we did fly down there. Sorry about all of this and how it all turned out." Gabby shook her head, as all that mattered to her is that they're together. "All that matters is that we're together."
Setting his iPad down on his side table, Matt agreed as he felt the same way. After which, he proceeded to climb into bed with the woman he loves and smirked as he wrapped his arm around Gabby. After which, he felt her cuddle up to him. "So, what does that mean for us getting away?" Matt sighed as Gabby asked him that question. "Well, I would need to look at hotels again." Gabby agreed with Matt. "Lay down some more for me, please?" Matt agreed, as he soon did just that for her: he laid down in bed and smiled as he opened his arm to invite Gabby to lay down with him. After which, Gabby crawled over to him and smirked as she proceeded to lay down in his arms. That way, she was close to her loving husband and had her arms wrapped around his muscular torso; something she loved to do, because of how damn sexy he was. "God, now this is the life. Especially when you're a very sexy man."
Matt agreed with his wife as she told him that, smirking as he turned his head and pressed his lip to her forehead, only to feel Gabby move her leg on top of his body. After which, he wrapped his arm around her back and placed his hand on her butt; only to move his other hand to her leg and placing it on it, that way he can stroke it with his thumb. And as he did so, Gabby smiled as this was very comfortable. "Oh, now this is very comfortable, and it makes me extremely happy." Matt agreed with his gorgeous wife as she said that and smiled as he turned his head to press his lips to her forehead. "I feel happy too, though not about the fact that we lost our honeymoon." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, well aware that was the case. "Well, we can always try and book something quickly." Matt agreed, as they most certainly could book something quickly. "And where would you want to go quickly?"
Gabby smirked as Matt asked her that question, only to look up at the man of her dreams. "Well, there is this place which an ad on the TV right now." Turning his head to look at the TV, Matt smiled when he saw an ad for Sandals Royal Barbados. "Sandals Royal Barbados. I heard about those resorts, they're very nice and romantic." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, as that was the truth. "And quite romantic." Matt smirked as Gabby said that, prior to turning his head and kissing her softly. "Let me see what I can do." Gabby agreed with her husband as he told her that, believing that he can work some miracles for their honeymoon.
Note to Readers: My apologies for having changed this on you guys so fast. I thought that I could do the story in Cancun, but I decided that I wanted to stick with something else I started before changing everything: and that was to have their honeymoon take place at a Sandals Resort. So, I went back and switched it up. And while I did hope to make the chapter longer, I decided to only write what I thought was necessary to get the plot to the place where it needed to be for my story. Hopefully, you understand and enjoy. Thanks again for reading, and let's get on with the story.
