Ron's love for Rice
Ron loves Rice but Flayon (Rice's Father) forbids it because he hates Ron and thinks his daughter is too good for him.
In the world of Elysium there are many kingdoms. While all these kingdoms have their own stories to tell, we focus on this one. This one little story about a Roon. A special roon (some would say in more ways than one) named Ron. Ron wasn't like other roons. He walked on two little stubby legs while other roons would bounce and roll around. Some even gooping along in an ooze like stroll. Ron's shape was not as orb, his ears not as tuggable and his tail… well, you get the point.
But with all his differences the other roons loved Ron just the same as they loved each other. Just enough, but not as much as they loved their King; King X Flayon. But you can just call him Flayon.
Ron the roon spent his days handing out yellow flowers to everyone he meets. No one ever took the yellow flower but they always thanked him for the kind jester. Everyone but Flayon. Who thought Ron was gross. Why? You ask him. "Why, what? Why do I have to explain myself? Huff!" He would probably say.
The roons would hate him for this. But they still loved him. Ron still loved his King.
Then one day King X Flayon announced his daughter. All the roons muttered… doubt… x…
"Sh-shut the hell up! This is Princess Rice and you guys better be nice to her!" With his arms outstretched wide, he held a Furby. She had the most beautiful white fur and a sultry voice. "Dah-ay-loh-oo-tye! Oo-nye boe doo?"*1
All the roons cheered for their new Princess.
"I'm leaving Rice in charge, as I go to visit King Bettel. You better be nice to her while I'm gone!" Flayon took his leave. Princess Rice bid her father a heartfelt farewell on his journey. "Bye-bye."*2
That day you couldn't go without hearing a roon talking about her or drawing art about her. So many wanted her attention and yet feared what Flayon would do to them. All roons, not Ron the roon. He waddled up to her holding out his yellow flower in his stubby hand. Rice took the yellow flower into her hand. "Dah-kah-oo-nye."*3
Princess Rice looked into his eyes. "Kah toh-loo oo-nye."*4
Ron looked into her eyes. The two held that yellow flower together. Stubby hand in hand, they walked though the kingdom. Ron showed her all the wonders of the kingdom held. Where the creators created their art. His favorite places to eat. The movie theater where the King would showcase movies to them. All this as Rice greeted every roon.
Ron then brought her out to the yellow flower field where they frolicked. As they lay in the golden land looking up in to the darkening sky, he told her of the stars. He told her how he loved her.
"Kah may-may Oo-nye."*5 She said, on the best day Ron had ever had.
The next day King Flayon returned with King Bettel. Princess Rice came out of her room to greet her father. "Princess Rice, what a pleasure to meet you!" King Bettel said with a large smile on his face, "Ha ha… I'm sure you are SUPER excited for the engagement!"
Princess Rice blinked, "Doo?"*6
Her father stepped in. "Rice, you will be marring Princess Phantom!"*0
Rice blinked again! "Doo?"
Bettel patted Princess Phantom who sat on his shoulder, looking bored as all hell.
"Phantom can barely hold back her joy! Isn't that right Phantom? Aw ohh boo boo my widdle Pwincess Winnccess, oh yes you are!"
Rice couldn't believe what she was hearing. "Boo! Dah-boo!"*7 She struggled to convey her feelings into words "Kah mee-mee noo-loo."*8
Bettel laughed "Oh you hear that Flayon? Must be love at first sight! Let's get this wedding on the way! Man, I can't wait for that ice cream cake."
Flayon called forth all the roons "You roons, start baking! You, roons over there make the wedding dress! You roons, decorate the meeting hall!" All the roons scattered to please their King. All but one. Ron was left standing alone. "Uh, you…" Flayon groaned as Rice looked to the roon with sad eyes. "I don't know. Just go!"
Rice watched as Ron turned away with his head down and a broken heart. "uh-oh… Oo-nye… Wee-tah…"*9
4 hours later. -
King X Flayon stood in a tailored fitted three-piece suit. "Ok… When Hakka starts the music, we go in. Now don't be nervous Rice. This marriage will mean I can spend more time with Bettel… I mean… bring our two kingdoms together."
Princess Rice stood next to her father in a beautiful wedding dress but only sadness filled her heart. "Boh-bay. Oo-nye? Bye-bye-oo-bah Ah-noo…"*10
From behind the door a heavy metal version of 'Here comes the bride' started playing. The doors opened and the room exploded.
Yellow petals flow through the air as the room was covered in yellow flowers.
At the alter Shinri stood with Priest Puniko and too their right King Bettel batted away petals as they landed on Princess Phantom, who still looked unfazed in her dapper bow tie.
Blocking their path stood Ron the roon.
"Oo-nye…"*11 Rice gasped. Her father stormed forward screaming. "RON! You!"
Rice whispered, "Ran..in…"
"Look what you have done Ron!"
"Ra..ooh…"
"I mean, it's kind of pretty."
"Stay out of this Shinri! This is between me and Ron!"
"Ra..ohn… Ra-ohn! RA-OHN!"*12
It was that moment Ron realized. He had told her his favorite places, food he liked, friends he spent time with. Told her of the stars in the sky and the love he felt for her. But he forgot to tell her the one thing everyone knew about him. His name.
"Kah may-may Ra-ohn!"*13 Rice cried out. As Ron ran pass King Flayon to hold Rice.
Flayon was outrage, how dare they ignore him! He wouldn't stand for it! He would never give his blessings!
"Soo… wedding canceled?" Flayon turned back to Bettel, shocked that he would so easily except defeat. Bettel shrugged, "I'm sorry Phantom. You must be heart bro-" He looked down to see Princess Phantom had disappeared. "Phantom? Oh god damn it! How does she keep doing that?"
Flayon turned back to the door. Rice and Ron were gone.
Out in the yellow flower field, Phantom told Ron and Rice to go live for themselves. She would keep them distracted, giving them time to leave. "Dah-kah-oo-nye Noo-lah."*14
With that final farewell. Former Princess Rice and Ron the exiled roon, left the kingdom to make a new home.
