CHAPTER 1: A New World
"Let the 74th Hungers Games begin."

The cannon goes off.
So many different things are happening at once for all the tributes who been selected for the 74th Hunger Games.
Peeta runs off to the woods. A random female tribute grabs a bag from the floor that was left by someone. Katniss barely escapes and makes it out alive as she gets a bag that was left near a spawn point by someone.
Meanwhile most of the other tributes ran to the cornucopia to get supplies and weapons. This included the ones that are called the "Career tributes". Some of them are successful while others are not. It's a bloodbath with so many of them getting killed off in brutal ways. One of them being murdered by the female tribute from District 1 name Glimmer. A boy is slashed to death by someone. A boy is stabbed by Cato, the male tribute from District 2. He also kills a girl who is helpless on the ground. A boy from another tribute who tries to kill Katniss is killed by a knife thrown by Clove, who is the female tribute from District 2. In the cornucopia, a boy from an unknown tribute is strangled to death, another boy gets his necked snapped by another tribute (Mostly likely by Cato), and another girl is killed. A little boy from another unknown tribute who was hiding inside the cornucopia tries to make his escape, but is ultimately killed by Cato. Thresh manages to get some supplies and a sword from the cornucopia and fights off someone that tries to attack him. Rue may have ran out into the woods as well.
As more time went on, the chaos at the cornucopia started to calm down with mostly the "Career tributes" coming out alive.
However, later on in the arena, one by one more tributes were starting to get killed off. Most of them being killed by the Career Tributes. One of their kills being a girl who was alone in the woods near a campfire she created.
Peeta joins the Career Tributes as he quotes "will help them" and find Katniss as he says he's on their side. But in reality, it's about trying to keep Katniss alive and safe from the Career Tributes until he can figure out a way to get rid of them. To which he had no idea how will he do it. But what he did knew is he has to play it smart.
Katniss climbs and stays on a tree on possibly the first night of the Games and watched when Glimmer killed the unknown tribute girl near the campfire.
The next day Katniss got down from the tree and started to walk as far as possible, away from everyone. She was planning to get away from everyone and get as far as possible so she has less of a chance encountering a tribute who wants to kill them. Surprisingly she was almost getting closer to the edge without her knowing.
After walking through the forest for almost the whole day and successfully not encountering tributes along the way, she decided to settle for the night. She climbed up a tree as high as she can before getting herself conformable the best she could as nightfall approached. She took one last glance around her and saw there were no tributes in her sight. She sigh in relief as she fell asleep, planning to continue on her journey tomorrow.
Though little did she know, she wouldn't be able to travel much farther on.
Katniss slowly started to wake up as she immediately picked up the sense something. Or more like smell something. Like the smell of smoke. Like something was burning. Like something was on fire.
"Wait! fire?!" Katniss thought loudly.
Then she started hearing it as it was slowly getting louder and louder. Like if it was roaring towards her.
Katniss immediately turned around and saw there was a huge forest fire that looked like a wall heading towards her direction with no way around it.
In a state of panic now, Katniss hastily began to untie the rope she put on her leg just in case she were to fall from the tree as it would hold her. After a few quick seconds, she successfully does it and jumps down from the tree making sure she doesn't land face first.
While running trying to find the end of the fire, she hears a roar to her left and looks in that direction to see a big fireball heading towards her. Her face. She immediately dodges out of the way before it hit her as it hit a tree and blew it up.
She continues running hoping to find a way through the fire so she can keep going further away from the tributes. But it seemed like this fire was a wall, being made by the game makers trying block her from going through, as she saw no way through.
Then she heard another roar to her left again and turned to that direction and saw another fireball heading towards her. But instead of it hitting her which would have burned her leg forcing her to a river to cool down, she saw a cave on her right.
Right before the fireball can hit her, Katniss swiftly headed right and basically threw herself into the cave, saving her from getting hit and hiding her from view as the gamemakers at the control room can no longer see her since there were no cameras in there. They somehow didn't notice this cave when making this arena.
"Jesus christ that was close." Katniss said to herself.
She picked herself up as she sigh in relief seeing that she was safe and no longer in danger.
But that relief was short lived when she heard a noise behind her making her turn around immediately and even though she didn't have a bow, she had the knife Clove threw at her back at the cornucopia and got herself ready in case whoever this was was about to attack her.
"Who's in there!" Katniss said trying to sound intimidating.
No one responded, just an... eerie silence.
"I am not afraid! I will fight back!" Katniss said trying again raising her knife to make whoever was in there afraid.
Then she saw a shadow coming out from the cave. Katniss immediately tried to get in the best fighting stance. She wasn't great in close combat as she relied mostly with her bow. But that doesn't mean she wasn't about to go down without a fight.
"Show yourself!" Katniss said loudly.
As the figure walked closer to the light, it revealed her face. Katniss saw that it was the girl she crashed into during the first minutes into the game when she was running away from the cornucopia.
The girl many call Foxface.
"Oh... it's you." Katniss said in recognition. It was then she saw how scared the girl looked. Like if she was going to kill her. Katniss saw this and tried to calm the situation down.
"Woah woah it's okay. I am not an enemy. I am just trying to survive and find a place to hide." Katniss tries to reassure Foxface, putting the knife down to show she wasn't gonna hurt her.
Foxface still looked tense, but started to calm down a bit.
"How do I know you aren't going to kill me?" Foxface asked still a bit frighten.
Katniss thought about an answer before saying "We bumped into each other, I could have killed you if I wanted to but didn't. And right now I could've thrown this knife at you, but I am not a psycho."
Foxface thought for a moment hearing Katniss response before seeing she was right and calmed down.
"I guess your right." Foxface said.
Katniss sighed in relief seeing Foxface trust her.
"How long have you been hiding here?" Katniss asked.
"For a few hours, found this cave sometime during the night and stay here." Foxface said.
Katniss smiled.
"Smart thinking." Katniss said.
Foxface let out a small smile hearing her say that.
"What was happening with you? I was hearing so many explosions outside the cave. What was going on?" Foxface asked somewhat concern.
"Well... looks like the gamemakers were watching me this whole time and maybe didn't like me going too far from the tributes and tried to force me back. But that didn't work for them." Katniss said that final part cocky for some reason.
Foxface smiled and let out a small laugh.
"Wow they must really have a grudge against you." Foxface said.
They both laughed, lighting the dark mood that was in the atmosphere a couple seconds for both of them.
But the dark mood returned and the laughing stopped as both of them heard a noise coming from outside the cave. They turned and looked at the entrance of the cave.
Before they could get ready, they saw a big guy and small girl running into the cave, both of them breathing heavily and sweat falling off their foreheads.
Katniss and Foxface both saw that the big guy had a big sword in his hand which immediately put them on alert.
"WOAH! WOAH! STAY BACK!" Katniss shouted at them raising her knife again.
They immediately turned around as they weren't expecting people to be in this cave as well. They were too focus on trying to hide from the group of four teenagers and some teenager that didn't seem to fit in the group who were charging at them with swords and a bow. The white girl who was holding the bow was firing shots at them trying to kill them but either missed them or the two dodged them. He thought she was a terrible shooter.
"WHOS IN THERE!" The big guy shouted.
As they stepped closer into the cave, they saw that it was the tributes from District 11, the big guy being Thresh and the little girl being Rue. Katniss recognized her in the training room when she saw her holding a knife she stole from a boy.
"Hey, you are the girl who stole the knife." Katniss said to Rue.
Rue blushed in embarrassment as she remembers it."Yea... that was me." Rue said in a shy voice.
Katniss gave her a small smile before looking at the Thresh, who was still holding the sword.
"Calm down, we are just trying to hide from the others." Katniss said, putting her knife down to show she was.
Thrush looked at her for a moment, debating whether to trust her or not. But seeing how kind she is to Rue, he decides to put his weapon down.
Katniss and Foxface sighed in relief.
"You two know each other?" Thresh and Foxface asked at the same time. They both looked at each other in confusion.
"Well... we didn't spoke to each other." Rue said.
"But I saw her on top holding the knife she stole from the boy. I didn't say anything to anyone." Katniss said.
Rue smiled at her.
"Thank you." Rue said.
Katniss smiled back at her and was about to say something when they heard approaching footsteps of many people approaching the cave fast.
They all turned around and they felt their hearts pounding at what they saw (Expect for Thresh). To their horror, at the cave entrance they saw the Career Tributes entering the cave, all four of them in a group holding their weapons. Katniss also saw Peeta among the group as well, walking in with them.
"Where are they?!" One of them said loudly.
"I saw them running over here somewhere." A female voice said frustrated.
Then one of them looked straight ahead and saw Thresh and Rue.
"There they are!" Glimmer said with excitement.
They all (except Peeta) began to laugh with happiness finding again their targets they wanted to kill.
They didn't seem to notice the rest of the group until one of them turned around and saw Katniss.
"There she is!" Marvel said.
The rest of the Careers turned around to his direction and saw Katniss in the cave as well.
"The Girl on Fire herself!" Glimmer said in a cheerful yet, intimidating voice.
They all had huge smiles on their faces that look so creepy and disturbing.
"And we also have the District 5 girl here too." Cato said, seeing Foxface among the group.
"All in one room." Clove said in a creepy voice with a sadistic look on her face.
Katniss, Foxface, Thresh, and Rue tried to run, but realized that they are inside cave with nowhere to go. They were all cornered, trapped in one room like a bunch of rats. With no way out.
"Nowhere to run little pests." Cato said in a creepy voice.
There was nothing they could do as they had no weapons to defend themselves other then Thresh having a big sword and Katniss with the knife. But it wasn't enough.
"She is mine." Clove said as she was looking at Katniss.
Katniss thought this was it for them. She looked behind the Careers to see if Peeta would try to do something but he looked as afraid as they were. They were gonna die at the hands of the Careers in this cave with no hope that something would happen or no way to fight back. She wondered how devastating her death may be for her family the moment her face is shown in the air. Her hunting partner Gale, her mother, her little sister... Prim. Her heart shatters at the thought of how much her little sister will be affected by her death.
"At least she will be safe." Katniss thought as the Career Tributes approached closer to them.
However, just as the Career Tributes were about unleash the killing blow, flashing bright lights illuminated the cave for a moment, stopping the Career Tributes from walking and everyone covered their eyes from the blinding flashes.
"What the-" Glimmer tried to say.
But then a big portal suddenly appeared in the cave with a loud boom.
They all stared at the portal for a second, gasping in shock and surprise, but before they can react and escape, they were being pulled into the portal with such force that it was sucking everything in it's surroundings.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Katniss screamed as she was holding onto a rock to prevent herself from being sucked in.
"KATNISS!" Peeta shouted as he basically flew himself close to the portal as he tried to help her and grab her hand to pull her back.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Rue screamed as she tried to hold on.
"HANG ON RUE!" Thresh shouted at her, trying to save her.
The tributes screamed in fear as they try to hold onto something to safe themselves.
"I CAN'T HOLD ON MUCH LONGER!" Foxface screamed.
"HELP ME!" Glimmer and Clove screamed to their male tributes as they also were struggling.
But it was no use as one by one all of the tributes were sucked into the portal. First being Katniss, then Peeta, then Foxface, then Rue, followed by Thresh, then Glimmer, followed by Marvel, then Clove, followed by Cato. The sight of the arena fading and disappearing as they traveled into the unknown.
At an unknown place in another world
At a warehouse that seems to have been abandoned for years, there were old supplies and equipment that seem to have been left to rot for years. There were tools, papers, and broken boxes liter all over the floor.
There were many posters on the wall that were ripped or falling off due to old age. The walls of the warehouse also looked really rusty due to old age. The lights were dim as well as they didn't seem to work properly.
From the look out the windows, it seemed like it was the afternoon as the sky was still bright blue.
Then suddenly a huge portal appears in the middle of the warehouse with a loud boom and was glowing so bright it lit the whole warehouse. It stayed like that for a couple seconds, as a tension was filling the air for some reason.
Then one by one, the tributes that were sucked into the portal fell through to the hard concrete floor landing with a hard thud. First Katniss, then Peeta, then Foxface, then both Thresh and Rue, then all of the Career Tributes at once.
"OW!" Katniss groaned in pain.
"OOF!" Peeta groaned in pain.
"UGH!" Foxface groaned in pain
"AH!" Rue let out a small scream of pain when hitting the concrete ground hard.
"RUE!" Thrush screamed as he saw that and also hit the ground hard.
"OW!" Marvel said in pain
"UGH!" Glimmer groaned in pain.
"AGH" Cato said in pain.
"UGH" Clove groaned in pain as well.
All of the Career Tributes fell on top of each other.
They all laid on the ground in pain for a moment as their vision was blurry and their hearing was distorted from whatever portal they just traveled through. It was too much for them as they all needed some time to recover a bit.
After some time, they start to recover a bit and start standing up from the ground.
"Katniss, are you okay?" Peeta walked to her side to see if she was hurt.
Katniss looked at Peeta with a little confusion for a moment as she thought he was with the Career pack. Maybe she thought the situation wrong.
"Yea, I am okay." Katniss responded back.
Peeta nodded, relief that she wasn't hurt.
"Rue, are you alright?" Thresh as she rushed to her side to see if she was hurt since he heard she let a short scream of pain.
"Yea I am okay Thresh, nothing serious." Rue said trying to calm down his worry.
"Are you sure? I heard you let a short scream-" Thresh tried saying before Rue cut him off.
"It's okay. Really, I am alright." Rue said trying to reassure him.
Thresh nodded, not believing her 100% but decided to push it further as he saw she was at least not dead.
As they all take a look into their surroundings, they look around in confusion, wondering where they are.
"Where are we?" Katniss asked in confusion.
For a moment, everyone including the Career Tributes forgot about killing each other and The Hunger Games.
"I... don't know..." Peeta responded who was next to her.
They looked around and saw they were in some house-like building. This didn't look like the arena. As far as they know, they never stumbled upon a building like this in the arena. It also wouldn't make any sense since the theme of their arena was a forest.
"This... doesn't look like the arena..." Glimmer said in confusion.
But the male tributes from the Career Tributes started to look more annoyed than confused.
"Is this a trick made by the gamemakers?" Marvel said irritated.
They all knew the gamemakers always would like to have fun, toy, and manipulate with the Tributes.
"OK Capitol! What type of game are you planning here!? What is this!?" Cato said to the air expecting a response from the sky.
But no response came. It was just silence.
An eerie silence.
"What is going on?" Clove asked now 100% believing something is wrong.
"Where did that portal... take us to?" Clove asked.
They all stayed silent for a moment, trying to figure it out. Then Peeta thought of something that may have sounded unbelievable but decided to say his theory.
"I think we may have been... transported from our world to... another." Peeta answered unsure of himself if that may have been the case as he couldn't think of another explanation.
They look at Peeta with wide eyes in disbelief. That sounded incredibly insane to them.
"A portal? To another world?" Cato said bewildered.
"That sounds like a bunch of bullshit fantasy." Marvel said.
"That sounds super ridiculous!" Glimmer said.
There was no way they were in a completed different world that wasn't their own. That sounded impossible. Right? Right!?
"I know it sounds insane and impossible, but that may be the only explanation that makes sense. I mean what other explanation would you all guys think of?" Foxface said to everyone.
They all tried to come up with another explanation what just happened and where they were. But nothing came up for them.
Did they all really just got transported from The Hunger Games to this different unknown world they have no idea about. Were there more worlds out there than just their's? So many possibilities were playing in their heads? Was there a multi-
"Well even if we are not in the arena..." Clove said grabbing her knife, making everyone come back from their thoughts before they can think any further about it.
She pointed it at the non-career tributes.
"We are not done with you all." Clove said walking towards them.
Immediately, everyone remembered where they came from and what was going on a few minutes ago. To survive and kill everyone until you are the last one alive. Even if they weren't in the arena.
Katniss, Peeta, and Foxface, immediately went back to full on alert and got into a fighting stance to try to defend themselves with weapons that the Career Tributes dropped. Though Katniss saw something in front of her that grabbed her attention.
Cato grabbed his sword from the floor and Marvel grabbed his spears from the floor as they were prepared to fight and kill the tributes in front of them.
Glimmer tried to grab her bow from her back but felt nothing on her back. Her eyes widen with panic and looked around for her bow. She saw it on the ground a few feet away from her.
She ran towards it trying to grab it, but Katniss beat her to it and grabbed the bow and immediately pointed the bow with an arrow in it at her direction.
"One more step and I will not hesitate to shoot this arrow into your heart!" Katniss said in a threatening voice to Glimmer.
Glimmer seeing she was at a disadvantage with nothing to defend herself, started backing away with her hands up.
"Glimmer! What are you doing?!" Clove said angrily.
"She's got the bow! I am putting my hands up so she sees I don't have any weapons and doesn't kill me." Glimmer said loudly back at Clove.
None of them seem to realize Thresh and Rue weren't there with them and that they both ran to a near by window to look outside.
Katniss then started pointing the bow on all four Career Tributes while not breaking eye content with any of them. There was a really tense stand off between the non-career tributes and career tributes. Peeta had a spear Marvel dropped, and Foxface had a knife that dropped from Clove when they fell through the portal.
Both groups knew whoever makes the first move will cause a huge bloodbath to break out here.
"Well what are you waiting Katniss! Make the first move!" Glimmer challenged Katniss while looking directly at her.
Katniss hesitated and didn't move and just kept pointing the bow at them.
"Come on Girl on Fire! Let's see what you are made of!" Clove challenged Katniss loudly, looking directly at her while holding her knife in front.
Katniss, Peeta, and Foxface stay close together as they prepared for a fight to break out any second.
"Come on baby. What are you scared?" Cato taunted Katniss while laughing.
"Bring it!" Marvel said to Katniss holding his spear up.
Finally Peeta had enough and decided to say something back as he wasn't gonna allow them to keep insulting Katniss like that.
"Hey! You want to get to her you got to go through me!" Peeta loudly said challenging Glimmer, Clove, Cato, and Marvel at once.
They looked at Peeta surprised for a moment by what he said. They thought he wanted to be a part of their pack and work together to take down Katniss. It seems like he wasn't gonna allow them to do that after all and is actually trying to protect her from them this whole time.
"Really Peeta?" Cato told Peeta.
"Of course you were going to protect. You don't have the guts to kill her don't you?" Clove said to Peeta.
"I knew you would betray us because of her." Marvel said to Peeta.
"We should have killed him earlier." Glimmer told Cato.
Foxface then stepped in as well.
"You all feel so tough when you gang up on one person, thinking that makes you the most powerful people?" Foxface said to the Career Tributes.
They looked at her, including Katniss and Peeta, a bit surprised and a little take aback when she spoke as they all remembered during the training room, she never spoke to them or anyone. She always kept to herself. So they were all surprised when she spoke, much more defending Katniss from the Career Tributes.
"Why don't you face us all five at the same time? That way we see if you four are tough as you say or just bragging so people see you." Foxface told the Career Tributes while they looked at her in shock by the way she insulted them and even challenged them.
Foxface raised the knife that fell from Clove and put in front like Clove was doing it. Even though she wasn't much of a fighter, yet, she was smart and would hid from sight from his opponents while she viewed from a distance, studying their every movement and how they fight. That way when there were only a few left, she would come out and fight off the rest of the tributes using the fight movements she studied and practiced to bring them down and win once and for all.
That was her plan when they were in the arena. Now she is not so sure if they were still in the arena.
"Wow the quiet girl finally spoke." Glimmer said somewhat impressed.
"Look it her, acting all tough." Clove taunted Foxface.
"As if you can bring us down." Cato laughed at Foxface.
"Well then come at us then!" Katniss finally challenged the Career Tributes.
"Make a move then!" Peeta said too.
"No YOU make your first move idiots!" Glimmer told both Katniss and Peeta.
"Come ON Katniss or I'll kill you first!" Clove told Katniss
"Let's see what you are made of with those muscles!" Cato challenged Peeta.
"Yea let's see how strong you are!" Marvel also challenged Peeta.
"You too!" Clove told Foxface and pointing her knife at her.
"Let's see how good you are with a knife." Clove challenged Foxface as well.
"I am gonna slit your ugly throat bitch." Foxface responded back to Clove coldly which surprised Clove with the language she was using. Clove didn't think Foxface was the type of person to curse.
They continued arguing, bickering, and threatening each other on how will they attack and kill each other and making the other person make the first move. The tension in the air between the non-career tributes and career tributes was heating up so fast. It felt like at any moment someone will attack first and then all hell will break loose.
None of the tributes seem to realize that Thresh and Rue were still missing from the group.
While the others are still threatening each other, Thresh and Rue ran off from the group to explore the warehouse without them realizing. They saw many different things storage in here. Old box's with old toys or tools, old books, they found a bunch old desks with a bunch of old paper work. There were old computers on each desk that seem to have rot away for being abandoned for so long.
There was something that they found that intrigued them and made them curious. On a wall near an old desk, there was an old slightly ripped calendar stuck to the wall still. On it, it was on a month that was during the spring. And in that month, there was a red circle on one of the days of the month. Though there was nothing written in the circle.
Then Thresh and Rue both heard a noise outside the warehouse. It was sound of engines and people talking outside.
Rue immediately ran to a near by window to see what they heard.
"Rue! Wait!" Thresh called out.
Rue got to the window and looked outside and saw something that shocked her but at the same time made her happy.
There was people walking down the streets and cars moving in the streets. Like if nothing is happening. There were a bunch of houses she saw as well. So many houses. In the distance she saw a city that had probably the largest buildings she has ever seen.
Then she turned back to the people and realized. These didn't look like Capitol people, or any of people from the Districts. They were just regular people going on their day. With no peacekeepers in sight and no one telling them what to do.
Thresh looked outside the window Rue was looking at and saw the same thing.
It finally confirmed their thoughts.
"We are not in the arena..." Thresh said in a low voice.
"We are not in the arena anymore." Thresh said again.
He was overcome by excitement.
"We are not in the arena anymore!" Thresh said happily while laughing joyfully.
Rue and Thresh both laughed together in joy realizing this.
"And look. There isn't any peacekeepers around anywhere. From the way the place looks outside and people dressing, it doesn't look like we are in the Capitol or any of the Districts." Rue said happily.
Thresh realized she was right as he looked at the people outside again and they looked so different from the people they saw in the Districts and Capitol and everything looked peaceful. No peacekeepers to tell them what to do.
"Wait a second... does that mean that..." Thresh started to realize something
"I think we aren't even in Panem." Rue said in utter shock while looking at him.
They both realized that Peeta was right and it was officially confirmed that the portal had transported them from The Hungers Games arena to another unknown world they know nothing about.
A New World.
A New World where they may have a second chance.
They had to tell this information to the rest of the tributes.
"Come on Rue! Let's tell the others!" Thresh told Rue.
They ran back to the tributes so they can tell them this new information they had found and officially confirm their theory.
Meanwhile, Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, and Cato were still threatening each other on who would attack first. At this point, it looked a couple children arguing with each other. Or more like a couple toddlers getting angry at each other over a lost toy. It was starting to look ridiculous.
But both non-career tributes and career tributes were scared that they were gonna get killed if they were to attack.
Then a voice called out.
"Guys."
But no one listened to it as the non-career tributes and career tributes continued arguing with each other.
"Guys!"
No one responded still and they were still threatening each other.
"Guys!"
No one still listened as the arguing became much louder to the point where Clove started to move her knife and ready to throw it. On seeing that Katniss pointed the bow at her ready to release the arrow and Foxface got ready to throw her knife as well to Clove.
Whoever was calling them saw what was about to happen and decided it was enough and screamed at them so loudly.
"GUYS!"
Immediately everyone jumped and were frighten by the voice that screamed at them and Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, and Cato turned around to see Thresh and Rue looking at them. It was at that moment they realized about Thresh and Rue and that they had been missing from the group for a while.
"Guys! Can we just please stop fighting for a moment?" Rue said.
Glimmer scoffed. "Why? We are all different tributes trained to fight each other to the death. We are meant to hate and kill each other."
"And who are you to tell us what to do." Clove told Rue rudely.
"Hey! Watch your tone on her!" Katniss told Clove who just glared at her.
"Which is why if you all shut up and listen to us, maybe you will all learn what we saw outside." Thresh told everyone in the group.
Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, and Cato tilted their head curiously and in slight confusion.
"What do you mean?" Marvel asked Thresh.
"What did you see outside?" Cato asked Thresh.
"Can we all just first put our weapons down?" Thresh asked everyone.
Everyone looked at each other and hesitated, not trusting anyone and refusing to put their weapons down.
"Look I know we all hate each other to the core, but if we want to figure out where we are, we need to put our differences aside and work together to figure it out." Thresh told everyone in a loud voice.
They listened to him and still hesitated, but they all realized he did have a point. They still had no idea if they were in the arena. After a couple seconds, they all put their weapons down. Bow, knifes, swords, and spears.
Thresh turned to Rue and then both nodded to each other and he turned back to the group.
"Just take a look outside from that window." Thresh said to everyone pointing at the window Rue looked outside from.
They all followed the direction Thresh finger was pointing at and saw he was a pointing at a window near an old desk.
They all turned to each other and hesitated to move for a bit as they still didn't trusted each other, thinking if any of them moved, they would be killed. They stayed like that for a couple seconds.
Then Glimmer was the first one to walk away from the group and walk towards the window. They watched her walk away for a moment and then looked at each other for a moment. After a bit more hesitation, they all began walking to the window as well.
When they all got to the window, they all saw what Glimmer was seeing with widen eyes as they all stared in shock and disbelief by what they were seeing.
There was an entire city in the distance, a type of city they had never seen before. There were cars, buses, and trucks moving and honking in the streets, many homes, and people either talking to each other or walking down the streets going on with their day without a care in the world.
This... did not look like any of the Districts... or the Capitol... or anywhere in Panem. To further prove that, there were no peacekeepers in sight forcing these people what to do. These people were free to do what they want without someone telling them to stop. There were no people watching the games and excited on who would win. No. They were just walking down the streets like if the games never existed.
"Like if they never existed..." They all thought.
Were they transported to a world where the Hunger Games never existed and everything was normal? Were everyone was free to do whatever they want and not have to worry about anything The Capital might throw at them. Were they in a world where they had freedom? True freedom?!
They all gasped as they couldn't believe it.
The excitement got them all immediately.
"HOLY SHIT!" Glimmer screamed.
"A WORLD WITHOUT THE HUNGER GAMES!?" Marvel screamed.
"DID WE REALLY GET TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER WORLD!?" Clove screamed.
"LOOK IN THE DISTANCE! DOES THAT LOOK LIKE ANY CITY BUILD ANYWHERE IN PANEM?" Foxface asked Clove loudly.
Clove looked at the city for a moment again. Then screamed again, "WE REALLY GOT TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER WORLD!"
"THIS IS AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE!" Cato screamed amazed that they were in another world were the Hunger Games don't exist. A lot was about to change for him.
"THE IDEA WE GOT TRANSPORTED FROM ONE WORLD TO ANOTHER SOUNDS SO FAKE! ITS AMAZING THAT IT IS POSSIBLE!" Peeta screamed as he started to think of so many possibilities. If there are more worlds out, he wonder how much different they are compared to their own.
Meanwhile Katniss had her mouth open in shock as she was in deep thought at this revelation. She was smiling at the reactions of the others and was also laughing at bit a Peeta's reaction. She thought it was cute.
"Wait why did I thought it was cute?" Katniss thought to herself.
"The star cross lovers is just meant so we can get people to like us." Katniss thought to herself. But what if it wasn't and there was much more between them?
She snapped out that thought and went back into deep thought at this revelation. They were in a completely different world. Free from the Capitols grasp. Free from the Hunger Games. This sounded like a dream come true. Too true. She had always wished to be in a world far away from the Capitol, from the Hunger Games, from the cruelty they lived in, from everything and take her family to live in a peaceful place some place else far away.
Now it seems she had finally gotten her wish. She been given a second chance. But she wished she had brought her family along with her into this new world. Gale, her mom, her little sister. She tried to think of a way to open a portal back to her world to get her family but she thought that sounded impossible and sounded more insane as there wasn't a way to travel between worlds.
It seems reality struck her as she realized she may... never see her family. Ever again.
"Prim..." Katniss said in a low broken voice.
She was safe at least. For now. But what if she gets chosen for next years Hunger Games? She won't be there to protect her, to safe her if she gets reaped.
Katniss felt tears come out of her eyes at the thought of Prim getting reaped for the Hunger Games, this time no one saving her and being in the arena to fight to the death with other tributes. Her little innocent sister.
Horrifying images started to appear in her head seeing Prim being slaughtered by other tributes who have no heart or mercy and doing terrible things. Some so horrifying she felt she wanted to throw up.
Now she wished there was a way to go back to her world. But she knew there was nothing she can do. She was in another world and there was no way back for her. All she can hope is pray that she will be okay and she stays strong. But hope to god she doesn't get reaped for a Hunger Games.
Eventually she comes back to her senses, holds back her tears, and looks back at the group of tributes.
"So what now?" Cato asked.
They looked at each other awkwardly. They didn't know what to do with each other if they weren't gonna fight each other.
"I say we go outside and explore." Thresh told everyone.
Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, and Cato looked warily at each other as they still did not trust each other thinking someone will stab them in the back.
Eventually, Katniss took charge.
"Look, if we gonna survive in this world, we need to explore around and find out where we are, find food, water, shelter. This is unknown territory we just entered. We need to stick together to survive. As much as you all hate it." Katniss finally decided to speak.
They all looked at each other still with a tension in the air. But they started to see that Katniss was right. Neither of them knew what this world had to offered and didn't think they would last for a single day alone. Their best chance of survival is by sticking together, as much as the Career Tributes hated that.
After some more hesitation, they all decided to form a truce and work together, for now, as they explored this world together.
"Already then. Let's go." Marvel said to everyone.
"Yea." Clove said with some disappointment in her voice. Maybe because she wanted to kill these non-career tributes that were right in front of her but couldn't.
Katniss, Peeta, Foxface, Thresh, Rue, Glimmer, Marvel, Clove, and Cato began walking towards the door that was the entrance to the warehouse as they set off to explore and see what this new world had to offer.
A world were no type of dictatorship existed and no sick games existed. A world were they all finally had true freedom and peace without having to worry about the games. A world were they can all finally relax in for the rest of their lives with no peacekeepers if they wanted to.
"It was all a dream come true." they all thought.
However, little did they all know, the world they had just been transported to, is not any better as they think it is. Even though they had real freedom now, they were not any safer here.
Little did Katniss Everdeen and the tributes know, they were soon about to find out and experience something even worse than the Hunger Games. Something far worse that would make the Hunger Games look like child's play in comparison.
"From sea to shinning seaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
