The End of the Old Age
Prologue

In the depths of the night, when darkness engulfed the world, a time when every living being should be slumbering in their sleep, the sound of battle can be heard in the distance. Each second brings tremors that can be felt from miles away. The sound of metal clashing, buildings crumbling, people shouting, families crying, the sounds of battle and despair mixing together.

There is fire everywhere, engulfing each building, the only source of light in this deep night. People are running away, trying to save themselves, seemingly not noticing that they are trampling each other. The weak vanish while the strong flourish, as is the rule of the world, especially in this violent world. There are also the few who work hard to protect others, trying to put out the fire, help evacuate people, guard them, or even go to lengths to save those who are about to be trampled.

Suddenly, there is a huge roar that shakes all the buildings around. A roar of a creature of despair seeking revenge on the humans who dared to imprison it. The creature is so huge that each of its steps causes the earth to tremble and buildings to crumble. Its height is almost as tall as a mountain that reaches the sky.

Around it, several small dots of people can be seen fighting it, or more accurately, trying to prevent it from causing more harm and destruction. The creature, with its eyes full of bloodlust and hatred, opens its maw, before many bubbles of energy with multiple colors gather in front of it. Those who know what it is tremble in despair, knowing what is to come. Its huge nine tails stab the ground, trying to stabilize its huge size and to prevent it from propelling from the ball of energy that it is about to unleash.

"It's time," said a figure before promptly disappearing.

The figure doesn't have any notable features. His black hair and black eyes are common among civilians. He has an average height, with the only notable thing about him being his flak jacket that symbolizes he is one of the jounin, an elite fighting force that is often considered when calculating the main strength of the village and consequently the country. Each jounin is important, as they not only contribute to the village's overall strength, but also act as commanders of the lower ranks.

Each one of the 5 great villages, which have populations of more than 100,000 people living in them and boast more than 10,000 ninjas, usually have only around 100 jounin. In fact, it can be considered lucky for one of the great 5 villages to have more than 100 jounin, as they are the heavy lifters, always doing the most dangerous jobs with the highest risk. In ninja villages, the genin do all sorts of odd jobs to maintain the village, such as acting as bodyguards, working in logistics, or acting as scouts. Chunin does more important jobs like becoming teachers at ninja academies, administration, doing more dangerous jobs that take them outside of the country, etc. While jounin deal with the most risky and dangerous jobs that they receive directly from their village leader. The job consists of intelligence gathering in enemy countries, assassination, guarding nobles and high-ranking personnel, or becoming a genin teacher, or any other mission that is deemed too difficult for any other ninja to accomplish

.Like now, the ninjas that fighting the nine-tailed monster are at least a special jounin while the chunin work at the far back acting as support and the genin is scattered around the village helping the evacuation.

This is the perfect opportunity for him to act on his plan. His plan that he made way back since he knew that he was now reborn in this cruel unforgiving world. With this crisis, most of the heavy fighters are focused on the nine tails while only a few jounin scatters in important positions to guard them, and some chunin here and there act as the supervisors of the genin that helping evacuate the civilians.

"Scatter and follow the plan" he commands the shadow clones.

With a swish, each of them disappears in a different direction. Each of them has a different objective in mind. One of them goes to the library, one goes to the academy, several of them go to different clan compounds, one of them goes near the back of the battlefield observing and ready to dispel to warn the other, one goes to the hospital, and the real one is going to the Hokage tower.

The Hokage tower is where the Hokage does most of his/her work. They give missions to the ninjas, do various meetings with Hokage advisors and clans, do administrative work, and many more things. But the most important thing for him is that the Hokage tower is where most of the high-rank and various forbidden jutsu are stored.

He isn't from any of the clan. He doesn't have a special bloodline limit. He doesn't have a hundred-meter-tall monster made of a chakra seal inside him. He doesn't come from a special family. He isn't a noble. The only reason he manages to reach his strength today is mainly because of luck. He gambled and he won the gamble.

At the Hokage tower, even when the village is in crisis there's still some jounin and several sensor chunin guarding the place. After all, it is common knowledge for the ninjas that a kage place contains many important secret information.

While walking toward the tower, he can sense the presence of half a dozen jounin with a dozen chunin. The presence of chunin is mainly for detecting intruders and informing the jounin also if the intruder is deemed too strong, they need to go inform the Hokage and other higher up along while the jounin is holding back the intruder.

Konohagakure is a village that is hailed as the greatest and strongest among the 5 great shinobi villages. Each generation produces several prodigies. S-rank. Shinobi who manages to reach this rank is undoubtedly a monster. Each S-rank has the same strength as a kage. While other shinobi villages struggle to produce elite A-rank, even among the other 5 great villages the emergence of S-rank is extremely rare. One of the reasons the old Tsucikage is still holding his seat is because his village didn't have another S-rank to replace him. Yet Konoha have the hokage, 3 sannin, Kushina Uzumaki, and Namikaze Minato. Each of them is an S-rank. A monster on their own comparable in strength with the leader of 5 great villages.

Yet what makes Konoha hailed as the strongest is not only their prodigy but also the presence of multiple clans. Senju with their strong body, Uchiha with their Sharingan, Hyuga with their byakugan, Aburame perfect for gathering information, Inuzuka great with tracking and scouting, the alliance of Ino-Shika-Cho that made of 3 clans and one of the first clans that join Konoha, and many more clan that each of them contributed greatly to the strength of the village. And several of them is in here.

He can sense the presence of many bugs scattering around inside and outside the building, so an Aburame is in there. He can also sense the presence of four-leg creature indicating an Inuzuka and their dog. Even if he doesn't know if there's a Hyuga in there, he is sure there is at least one. So, there are at least 3 sensors in there.

He needs to act quickly to incapacitate them all before they can give the signal for reinforcement. He can't kill any of them as doing so will only alert other sensors from the outside that mainly monitor people by detecting their chakra. If they sense that several chakra coming from inside the Hokage tower is gone then they will also alert the other ninja.

"Kai!" he releases the seal to detonate the bomb that he laid everywhere around the village.

Boom* *Boom* *Boom*

"Gate of Limit, Open!" he clenches his and presses his thumb on his abdomen. In an instant, a green aura began to surround him before fading away.

Without wasting any more time, knowing the distraction will only hold the other ninjas for a few moments, he dashes with full speed to the Hokage tower. His target is the sensor first, he needs to take them all before they can give a warning to the other.

He jumps up to the upper floor where the Hokage office is and immediately punches an Aburame in the stomach and knocks him unconscious. He then does the same with a couple of other shinobi in the room. He doesn't waste time and dash to the other floor where another ninja is, he does the same to them and knocks them all unconscious without stopping. It was only on the underground floor that he encountered slight resistance. 4 Jounin is guarding this place and manages to withstand his blow.

There is only one exit here and he believes they know that they can't defeat him so the only solution is that they manage to lure him in and hold him for long enough to slip one of the Jounin away. That won't do if reinforcement comes, he can't get out of this place in time. He can't afford to fight them while holding back. This means they'll have to die, but that also means the time required to steal all the scrolls becomes shorter.

The 4 jounin attack at the same time. Two are running straight at him while the other two are keeping their distance. One of them trying to slash him with a sword while the other is with his kunai. One kunoichi is supporting them using earth release while the other is trying to run for the exit while throwing kunai and shuriken at him.

He jumps back to gain some distance before pressing his thumb in his stomach.

"Gate of View, Open!" In an instant, a green aura began to surround him. The temperature in the room is rising. They all can feel the heat coming out from his body.

The swordman doesn't waste the second he becomes immobile to close the distance and deliver an overhead swordstrike.

Boom* there's a sound of explosion and dust scattered everywhere blocking the other jounin view. When the dust is settled, the view they are shocked at the view that greets them. The swordman's blade is caught while his whole head gets obliterated. Seeing this scene they can feel their primal fear, the instinct of a living being in front of death. But they are shinobi, death is an everyday occurrence to them. So, in a moment they manage to regain their sense. Unfortunately, it was that moment wasted that the intruder used to kill the next jounin, it was the jounin that used earth release. With his fist covered in flame, he punches through her body impaling her with his fist before her body is covered in flame and burns her alive.

The remaining two jounin exchange glances, both of them running toward the exit. He wouldn't let them run, with a dash in an instant he was in front of them and blocked the exit. One jounin draws his kunai in his right hand and throws several kunai with his left while charging him. The other jounin jumps back while forming a hand seal.

Trying to stop whatever jutsu he is gonna unleash he dashes toward him but he is blocked by the other jounin. That jounin keeps blocking his way while never actually facing his attack head-on, only dodging or redirecting it away. It means his intuition is correct that whatever the other jounin is doing is dangerous. Getting a smoke bomb from his pocket, he throws it to the ground making the room filled with smoke obstructing their sight. They are jounin so this kind of thing will only distract them for a moment, but that was all he needs. With a flash, he reaches in front of the jounin that keeps blocking him and punches his face.

Not wasting any more time, he runs to finish the last one. But he freezes, his body can't move. When the smoke dissipated it revealed the last jounin in a kneeling position with his hand maintaining a seal, a shadow can be seen stretching to his position.

"Kagemane no Jutsu, never knew that there's a Nara in Anbu" admitted him for a mistake that he didn't expect.

A Nara is a clan famous for their mind and their shadow imitation jutsu. It is a perfect jutsu for restraining the enemy. But it is also a jutsu with a great amount of chakra consumption.

"A Nara famous for their laziness, no one is going to believe if there's one that joins in Anbu."

One more thing famous about the Nara clan is their laziness. They only work with a minimal amount of effort and only when necessary. Yet there's one that joins Anbu famous for their demanding job, high work ethic, and busy schedule.

"In hindsight, it should be obvious to bring you in as it would get the enemy caught off guard" exclaimed him.

"For how long can you keep restraining me? You know the moment your chakra is depleted you are dead"

"Long enough for reinforcement to come. Some sensor outside must know that several jounin chakra inside Hokage tower are gone"

"So, you are also ready to sacrifice yourself. You really are one of a kind person from your clan"

"My clan may be famous for their laziness, but each of us didn't lack the resolve to sacrifice ourselves for the village. We all believe in the Will of Fire"

"Yeah, I know" he stated.

The gear in Nara's Shinobi mind looks like he managed to connect the dots. Leaving him alive or even his corpse intact is dangerous.

He closes his eyes before slowly opening it to reveal his black pupils turn to golden.

"That's why you are all so predictable"

With a flash, he reaches in front of the Nara and obliterates his entire head. To make things safe he stores all 4 jounin corpses in his storage seal. The amount of time he is immobile is enough to give him time to gather nature energy that he spends and more essentially overpower the kagemane no jutsu and attack its user before he can think of countermeasures.

His green aura disipated indicating that he closes his eight gates tecnique. After all, although this jutsu is strong, it puts high pressure and risk on the user.

Now that there's no one else to hinder his objective, he reaches to next room and proceeds to store anything worth value in there. There's some that is guarded by seals and he also believes that every scroll that is important also has seals that protect it from being open. Yet he just absorbed the chakra in the seal. The fundamentals of the seal are basically making a drawing or writing act as a mathematical formula needed for the desired effect to happen to infuse with the amount of chakra necessary. It also contains the will of the creator for what the seal is purpose to. But with all of it chakra contained in the seal is gone, what was left is a normal writing or drawing. As long as he overpowers the will of the creator then he can freely absorb all the cakra in the seal.

He hypothesized that if a human can absorb natural energy from the surroundings, then chakra that exists from natural energy also can be absorbed. But different from natural energy that exists on everything where you can absorb natural energy from the air or the earth as long as you can balance your own physical and spiritual energy, chakra have their own consciousness. To absorb them you also need to overpower the will that resides in those cakra. Not to mention that each individual chakra is different so you can't absorb other chakra freely. His method to fix this is to convert those chakra to natural energy. After it turns into natural energy, some of it is naturally dispersed in the surroundings while the rest that he is compatible with he can absorb them.

Now with all the seal is taking care of, he begins to store all scrolls and documents that contain various jutsu and important information. He doesn't have time to sort them so he just takes everything into his giant scrolls that he brought. After it is done, he runs out of the building to sense several shinobi is heading in his direction.

With no time to waste he creates a clone shadow clone jutsu to hold them off while he runs away.

He senses that the group pursuing him getting held back by his shadow clone but some of them manage to slip and continue to pursue him. What he needs is to get away from the village and regroup with the other shadow clone. Until then he needs to get away from his pursuer first.

"I guess I have no choice then. Gate of View, open!" he coughs out some blood. Opening gates above 5th gates still put great pressure on his body, not to mention opening it consecutively.

With the increased strength he gains, he puts all his strength on his legs and jumps to gain a huge distance that the wall of Konoha can be seen getting closer. The moment he reaches the wall he jumps out and reaches the outside of the village.

What he needs right now is to reach his hidden base before going to a different country. Everything progresses more or less as planned. He looked back at the village one last time. For better or worse, he spends his life from childhood through adulhood in there. He has many good and bad memory, once when he is still idealistic, he thinks that he can change everything from the village. But in the end, it's the entire system that need to change, so he did what he need to do.

"Farewell Konoha" he whispered.
