(Chapter 14: Lockser Cries)
A woman can be found standing on the surface of a lake formed by her own rain. Countless corpses float in the water around her as the top of many dilapidated buildings can be seen beneath the surface. Wherever she walks the rain follows, bringing death, despair and tragedy.
"The rain falls wherever Juvia walks, Drip, drop. When I was younger that man once said, If you have love in your life, you must keep living. A Lass, that man was mistaken. For my body is water, so even without love, Juvia, can never die. Drip, drip, drop."
an attractive woman with azure blue hair that falls down past her shoulders is standing on the surface of a lake as a Heavy rain continues to fall around her. Her midnight blue eyes, snow white skin, and a slender, curvaceous figure make her stand out like a goddess of the rain. Her aqua blue hair has a fringe that parts on the right, as well as having her bangs sit aloft on her chest. Her eyes are dull, empty, and lifeless. Her hidden emotions stir, followed by wild crashing waves. The rain grows so dense that everything around this woman's position seems to have come under a waterfall. Buildings are crushed into rubble and the waters turn scarlet from the destroyed corpses of the drowned innocent. Her emotionless face cracks before tears unseen in the rain begin to fall. She couldn't help but remember the red eyed man whose body seemed to be wrapped in a skin tight suit of darkness. She can remember his smile as he gave her a free meal on the one and only day she saw the sun. His mouth was filled with red jagged teeth like arrowheads and his eyes were like oval shaped glass. One kindness, one good will, never forgotten. His words echo in her head again and again.
(Six years ago in a nameless farming village, a costumed man came to visit a girl who was abandoned by everyone.)
"Little Juvia. One day some people will come to take you away. On that day you will suffer a great loss, and you will get to see the sun again." The strange man said these words with a finality she couldn't help but believe. The girls eyes sparkled at the thought of seeing this bright and happy world everyday, no matter the price.
"How will I know if those people are the one's you mean?" She asks innocently. The costumed man chuckles softly.
"On the day you remember these words and understand their meaning. My name is Shade, now listen well. If you have love in your life, you must keep living, for only then will you know the meaning of happiness."
"Looking back on that day now, I can't help but feel how naive I must have been. Many people came, and I suffered many losses, yet. Juvia never saw the sun again."The woman's tears fell along with the violent rain. The beautiful blue haired maidens heart began to lose the last of its light. The wind roars as Juvia's body begins to liquefy and merge into her surroundings. All she wanted to do was rest, rest and forget everything. but before she could completely give in to her despair, she heard two voices cut through the heavy sound of rain.
"Kohta? What are you doing here you fat pervert. Wait a second, how did you get so buff? A sharp voice enters Juvia's ears making her feel confused and a little annoyed. The rain around here has enough force to strip anyone other than herself into nothingness. She was too distracted before, but now she can detect two powerful presences a few dozen feet away.
"Ho hay Saya. It's been what, a month since Z day right. You have changed a lot. Is that my wife's new Ryuko brand Clitoris ring key chain? The medium weight heart and Cross bones is a good touch. Ryuko says they hert just enough to feel good while only stretching her nub a little." Another voice, distinctly male cut through the rain giving Juvia a very odd feeling. Her eyes glazed over and a feeling of awkwardness filled her core.
"I should just leave. Juvia feels she is far to innocent for the current conversation." She mutters with a red face. How could anyone talk about such things so brazenly.
"Sh, shut up! What would and idiot like you possibly know about fashion. Wait, Hold on. Wife! Did you just call Ryuko your wife." Despite all the rumors about the top two female perverts of the Sugu squad, she didn't hear about the bully and the loser's big event. Kohta coughed awkwardly.
"Let's just say we had a bedroom wedding. How do you think I got so buff." Kohta flexed his arms confidently. He would never admit Ryuko liked him better fat. Saya blushes in anger and arousal. It's completely useless for any of the girls in camp to hide their perverted nature with their drippy womanhood always hanging out.
"Damn it. When did that quiet nerd I know grow a pair of balls. Don't say it. I already know."
Not far away from the two a very wet, and very confused Juvia is crouching on the water while trying to make herself disappear. "Hay Saya, You're in the abduction core right? I'm in scouting. If this chick is your target I suggest you call for backup." Kohta warns seriously. He seemed to switch into a business mode, catching Saya off guard.
"Yeah, i'm in abduction. I actually joined yesterday. Members systems get access to 100,000 free mana when on mission's. The pay is good and I got 20 free spells from Lucy's system shop. I memorized all of them last night. You can just relax and watch as i capture this water girl with my badass genius magic skills." Saya declares proudly while taking a superhero pose. Her hands are on her hips as she pokes her chest out like Superman. Juvia slowly stands up after hearing Saya's words.
"How, dare you. Don't think you're better than me just by poking your chest out! Don't think Juvia is so weak she can be snatched up by a little girl like you." Saya looks at Juvia like she would a child having a tantrum. Then she chuckles mockingly.
"Oh yeah. We'll just see about that. Kohta, clear this stage. I'm about to show this twat how the new kids dish out a magical beating." Kohta nearly chokes on his saliva after hearing Saya's words. He walks away thinking how much trouble it would be if Saya started acting like Ryuko. Juvia watches the girl walk slowly towards her while muttering strange sentences under her breath. She only just now realizes there isn't even a single drop of rain water on the strangers body. Juvia continues to feel that the girl in front of her seems to be growing more and more imposing with each word spoken.
"I am one with metal and earth, awakening iron body forge. Manifest within me oh force of greater motion, swift Lioness. I have born witness to the land of the mighty, epic strength. Create now, a grand maiden of the Sea, water breathing. Ahhhhh! All this chanting is so annoying!" Saya continues to chant while complaining as she stops about ten feet away from Juvia. Juvia's face grows more and more ugly every second. She can't understand this exhibitionist at all. The only thing she knows for sure is that this, Saya is actually making her feel threatened. It's a new feeling for Juvia.
Meanwhile, Lucy enters Chi chi's door testing room, only to find out Levy has already arrived in advance. Levys face was unusually serious.
"You mean the invasion project. Is that, the so called bigger goal Sugu is after?" As the group's bookkeeper, Levy is naturally aware of most everything going on. But it seems she has overlooked some obvious details again. As far as she knew, that project's only purpose was to capture extractor subjects if they don't have enough energy. But if Sugu's grand plan is to subjugate entire world's, then the energy these girls can provide is indeed not enough. Lucy Walks over after hearing their conversation.
"Hey Levy, are you okay? Sugu has been talking about this ever since we arrived. Don't tell me you have been skipping sleep again." Lucy's tone is both playful and concerned. Levy has a helpless expression after hearing Lucy's words.
"Don't worry About it to much Levy. You can ask Sugu to explain it when she gets back." Chi chi says reassuringly. Once again Levy receives another piece of information she is unaware of.
"Back? Is Sugu missing?" Levy asks with a frown. This time it is Lucy who responds.
"It's more like she's on vacation actually. She thinks she found a scientist who is smart and crazy enough to work with us. She left yesterday to track down some weird crystals the guy seems to have been looking for." Lucy says informatively.
"What part of that is a vacation?" Levy asks with an odd expression. Chi chi just grins.
"Probably because she only spent about five minutes getting them. The rest of the time she has been sunbathing at the beach in a country called Soleanna." Suddenly Levy was starting to feel jealous of Sugu's freedom. Lucy was also feeling jealous.
"Yeah. I just found out that scientist should be arriving at the Soleanna Castle Town Tomorrow night to crash the locals Festival of the sun. Apparently the Princess is about to have her seventeenth birthday." Chi chi says after reading a message box generated by her Administration seal. It is at this point Levy's attention is drawn by a file laying on a nearby table. It's a job request to abduct a potentially high energy value target for that Earth Land filled with dark guilds. Levy frowns at the information.
"Hey Chi chi. Who accepted this job?" Levy looks over the information of the target gravely. She is somewhat familiar with the woman in this picture but there are clear differences. Chi chi, who watched Levy space out during their conversation glanced at the document without much thought.
"It's that moody girl with the glasses. I think her name was Saya. She signed up for the core after being tested yesterday. she should be able to handle an A class target like Juvia easily." Levy felt her stomach fill with dread.
"We have to bring her back right now!" Levy says frantically. Seeing the seriousness of the usually calm and composed Levy disappear, Chi chi grew serious.
"Why? What's going on?" Lucy was also startled. Levy explains quickly.
"This isn't the A class rain woman, Juvia Lockser from Phantom Lord. This is the Juvia from the dark Earth land. She is known as the ocean Goddess of death. Juvia Shade Lockser, an S class wizard!" Levy's eyes were glowing brightly. A clear sign of her unique magic ability to gather information. After a minute Levy gritts her teeth.
"It's already to late. The Battle has started."
