Healing
(With Alice)
Alice had been in her rooms for days. Her family was worried about her. She bit her lip before picking up her phone. She quickly dialed a number before she could think about changing her mind. Once done she put it to her ear and waited.
"Good evening. I am Doctor Matthew. How may I help you?" A deep voice asked.
"H-hi. I'm Alice Hale-Cullen." She said.
"Jasper's mate?" He asked.
"Yes." She confirmed.
"It is a pleasure to at least speak with you. How may I help you?" He asked.
"Jasper told me you are a therapist." She said.
"I am." He confirmed. "For vampires."
"I would like to schedule an appointment." She said.
"When are you available?" He asked.
"Anytime." She answered.
"How is tomorrow at three pm?" He asked.
"That sounds fine." She said.
"I shall see you then." He said.
"See you then." She said.
"Have a good day Alice."
"You as well." She hung up the phone. "Jasper."
In no time at all Jasper was at her side. She hugged him close. Neither said a word. Jasper was happy that his mate was finally seeking help. He knew that she was finally going to heal. Now they just had to deal with the Volturi.
"Thank you." She whispered.
"You're welcome my love." He whispered back.
(With Bella)
After learning that she was a squib, Bella read up on magic. She did this via her dad and Harry's books. What she read made her really glad that she couldn't use magic. Some of it scared her and some of it made her feel like she might have become lazy.
There were spells that took care of basically everything. It made her wonder if she would have been lazy even though her father barely used magic to clean the house, cook food, and clean his body. He usually did that the non-magical route.
'Plus what would have happened if I was famous, like Harry. That would be a terrifying sight.' She thought.
Knock Knock
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Teddy." The person said.
"Come in." She said.
Teddy opened her door and entered her room. She wondered what he wanted. They didn't really have much of a relationship.
"How may I help you?" She asked.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"In two days the Volturi will be here." He was worried due to his creature status.
"I know. They were scary enough the first time." She said.
"First time?" He asked.
"Well.." She got a sheepish look on her face and explained.
"You did what?!" Teddy gasped in shock. "Are you stupid?!"
Bella chuckled at that. "Sometimes."
"Does Charlie know?" He asked.
"I have never told him." She admitted. "I'm pretty sure I would have been in more trouble than I was."
"Ya think?" He sarcastically asked.
"I know. I was lucky." She sighed.
"Well don't worry. Harry won't let anything happen to you." He said.
"That's what is keeping me from freaking out." She admitted.
"Good." He smiled.
"Yes it is." She smiled back.
"I have another question to ask." This time he nervously bit his lip.
"Yes?" She looked at him.
"Will you talk to Jacob? He's not sure if you two are still friends."
Bella let out a shaky breath. "Yeah. I do need to talk to him." She said, "I'm just scared to."
"I bet." He understood.
"I heard how I treated him and I know that wasn't me due to the curse but I still feel so guilty." She said.
"I know and so does he." He said. "It's just that you avoid him whenever he is here and that is hurting him, despite him knowing why."
"Yeah." She didn't want that. "When is his next visit?" She asked.
"Tomorrow." He answered.
"I'll talk to him then." She said.
"Okay." He said.
"Anything else?" She asked.
"Nope." He answered before leaving.
Bella shook her head and went back to the books. She just hoped everything would be okay.
(The next day)
Bella was nervous. She would be talking to Jacob for the first time in months. She felt guilty for how she treated him. Yes she was under a curse but that didn't stop the guilt. After all she did say he was too disgusting to ever find his mate.
"It will be okay." Teddy assured her.
"I hope so." She said.
"I know so." He knew Jacob wasn't mad at her since he knew about the curse.
"We'll see." She said.
"Debbie downer." He muttered.
"Oh shush." She scowled at him.
"Make me!" He challenged.
"Knock it off Teddy." Harry said from the kitchen.
"But-"
"No buts." He said.
"Yes Harry." He pouted.
"Behave." He warned.
"Okay." His pout deepened before he smiled. "Jake's here!"
"Wait for him to get out of the truck." Harry said.
"Know-it-all." Teddy scowled as Bella chuckled.
"Thank you~" Harry sang out.
"Ugh!"
"Sorry Teddy but it isn't nice to jump on people when they are trying to get out of a vehicle." Harry said.
"I know. I'm just excited to see him."
"I know. Go on." He said.
"Yes!" He took off the door.
"How?" Bella asked.
"No clue Bella. Kids just produce energy. Wish I could have some." He said.
"Me too." She agreed.
A few minutes later Jacob walked into the house. Teddy was on his shoulders. The shifter was surprised that Bella didn't run away from him. He tried to not let it hurt him since he knew she was guilty about what she said to him when she was cursed but it still did. She did look very awkward.
"Teddy?" Bella looked at him.
"Yeah?"
"I think Jake and I need a minute alone." She said.
"Okay." He said. "Don't chicken out of it."
"I won't." She promised.
"Good."
Jacob set Teddy down and the wizard went into the kitchen. Meanwhile the two teens were left in the living room. They stood there looking at each other awkwardly for a few seconds before Bella broke the silence.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"I'm not going to lie. What you said and how you treated me was wrong. I was very hurt by it. What made it better was learning that you have been cursed and that it wasn't actually you saying it." He said.
"I keep hearing these things that I do and I feel like the biggest bitch in the world." She admitted.
"I can't even imagine. Is that why you refused to talk to me?" He asked.
"Yeah." She whispered. "I can't help but think about it and I chicken out of it."
Jacob went over and hugged her. She was surprised but hugged him back. It was nice to know that she was forgiven. She still felt guilty but not as much as before.
"Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome. We'll have to hang out again." He said.
"I'd like that." Bella smiled.
"Good." He grinned back.
"Let's go." Teddy said, grabbing Jacob's hand and leading him out the door.
"That was rude Teddy!" Harry yelled after him. "Brat."
"He is." Bella laughed.
"Are you going to volunteer to tutor kids today?" Harry asked.
"That's next week." She said.
"I see." He said.
"Today I was going to work at the bakery." She reminded him.
"That's right. Sorry Bella." He said.
"It's alright. I know that the meeting with that auror didn't go well." She said.
"Not really." He wasn't pleased.
An auror from Britain had come over to America once they had learned about the cursed bracelet. Apparently the auror allowed members of certain families to claim property of convicted or deceased death eaters. These properties were cursed or illegal items that the ministry had ceased. The bracelet was one of them. It had belonged to the Lestrange family.
The auror claimed that the bracelet belonged to the British Ministry and so did the case. They didn't go to MACUSA about it. No, they went to Harry. They demanded the bracelet back and then threatened Harry. Luckily Harry managed to contact Kingsley and he arrived. Neither were pleased.
It did mean that they could narrow down their search. Kingsley went to MACUSA to apologize as well as promise to investigate the matter. It sometimes baffled Harry and Kingsley how stupid people could be.
"I'm sorry." She said.
"Don't be." He said. "Are you ready to go?"
"I am." She said.
"Good. Let's get going." He said to her.
"Okay."
