First interaction of Kakashi and Kyubi.
CHAPTER 25
After sealing the tiger-fox Reon and a peaceful sleep, two Konoha shinobis woke up and proceeded towards the Howling Wolf village to see Tenma. Tenma already explained to the village head as Naruto instructed. He told them some bandits tried to set off the sealed animal while killing a ninja. They used some form of genjutsu but the shinobis who came in pursuit of the bandits helped Tenma. Tenma wasn't affected since Kataro countered the genjutsu effects of the saigenzai but the explosive powder was unhelpful. It not only set off the animal but was easily solved by wind and water jutsus. After Tenma explained this, the village was shocked.
The Kumonai clan came forward and agreed that it didn't create the explosives and only used the powder given by some mysterious people. They told that aster they tried to sell the product, people who invented the powder, reclaimed it and somehow erased the memory of the person who copied and understood the formula for it. The Sendo clan members were clueless to what happened and the person who improved the explosive powder was found alive near the temple with a wound on his head, alongside the dead person from the Sendo clan.
It was assumed that the person who died and the wounded person near the temple might have worked with the bandits but had become a victim of their own doing. The Sendo clan was scared that village would suspect them and decided not to cause any more troubles.
After two hours of explanations and speculations, everyone agreed that they would not let other ninja villages know and continue to be the hidden village of medicine and shinobi services.
Kakashi entered the village as Konoha's envoy to enquire about the disrupted supply of medicines to the village while Naruto, in his previous disguise, adult form with green lens on his eyes and black hair, entered the Howling village as the person from the previous day who bought medicines for his brother to treat traumas. Kakashi went to the village head and Naruto went to tea house to know the general situation. Naruto asked Kakashi to wait in the medicine garden and went to Tenma's house.
"Is Tenma-san here?", Naruto asked Reishi who is watching his younger brother.
"Father is inside. I will call him", Reishi said and went inside the house to invite his father.
"Hello, how is your brother? You are here so soon?!", Tenma asked identifying Naruto as the man who came previous day for the medicine.
"Do you have a minute Tenma-san? I want to talk with you alone", Naruto said.
"Hmm..Ok", Tenma said reluctantly.
After walking towards the medicine garden and alone and setting up a private seal, Naruto came straight to the matter.
"How did everything go Tenma?", Naruto asked.
"What everything?". Tenma was confused
"Yesterday, temple, Reon, Kataro", Naruto said the trigger words.
Tenma was shocked and he took a step back. "How did you know?"
Naruto rolled his eyes at him and responded. "Considering I am the one resealed it, I should know".
"You are the shinobi-san?!"
"Yes. And we are going to shut our mouth about it", Kakashi said jumping behind him.
Tenma jumped in scare and twirled around to see the silvered haired man similar to the one he saw yesterday night. Tenma worked out the details in his mind and swallowed nervously.
"What did you say to the village head?", Naruto asked not giving any concern about his nervousness.
Tenma then proceeded to explain what happened and Kakashi raised his eyebrow at the Kumanoi clan part. Naruto looked at him with a look that expressed 'it is my work'.
"Good. But one should know any time of genjutsu has a single weakness that most people aren't aware of", Naruto said and Kakashi nodded.
"What is it?"
"Time", Naruto answered and Kakashi continued. "Any mind altering jutsu could be overcome with will power or some trigger and stressor points. It may appear as a lost memory or a dream but it will come back sooner or later".
"What do I do?", Tenma panicked.
"You watch and let us know if someone tries to make the explosive powder again. I will send people to you once in a while in the name of buying medicine", Naruto said.
"Thank you shinobi-san"
"Thank you? What thank you? You are a complete idiot who tried to prove ninjas lives are scared by putting your villagers live in danger. I didn't do this for you. I did this for you sons and the villagers and to prevent the possible explosive wars. You messed up big time. Do you even understand what would have happened if I didn't seal the creature in the temple? The only way you could have seal the chakra absorbing creature is inside another chakra producing creature who hasn't developed his chakra coils. Who is the one person you know like that?", Naruto asked.
"My…my… my youngest son?!", Tenma was appalled.
"Someone should hold the creature back while you seal it and that would be your wife. Do you think she would have survived after that creature absorbs all her chakra? You have to sacrifice your life too since sealing requires large chakra. Your eldest son will be taking care of your youngest after you guys died and that is not the worst part. The villagers will suspect what happened and hate your sons and clan. Did I mention your sons can't leave the village to escape the hatred because the creature has been tied to the temple and can't leave a significant distance from it?", Naruto asked with a deadpan expression and Tenma's blood was freezing in horror increasingly at each sentence.
"No way that could have happened", Tenma was in denial.
"It would have happened if not for him", Kakashi said in a relaxed tone.
"That's what I saw in the genjutsu earlier in the temple", Naruto said.
"But it will only give you euphoria", Tenma was confused.
"He is little bit special", Kakashi said.
"I ..I didn't expect it to be like this. I didn't think Sendo clan would interfere. I could have caused more damage. I am an idiot", Tenma agreed.
"But, you are good at medicine making. So, try to help many shinobis as much as you can. Your intentions are good. You are a good person just refrain making original ideas. The crisis is already averted", Naruto said and Tenma relaxed a little.
"Well, let's discuss more important matters", Kakashi intervened.
"More important?", Tenma asked and Naruto gave a questioning look.
"We are going to repair a delicate seal on someone's mind. I heard that it will hurt a lot. Do you think you has some calming medicine or headache medicine that is not a hallucinogen?", Kakashi asked.
"That person can wait. It is not urgent", Naruto said not wanting to do it now.
"Tenma-san, do you think you can do it?", Kakashi gave a pointed look at Tenma and Tenma could only give one answer. So, he nodded.
"Thanks Tenma-san. Go and make the medicine", Kakashi bid him farewell.
"We can get the medicine and do it later. We have to get back to Konoha. My clone will dispel at any time and our team is waiting", Naruto tried to avoid taking the seal.
"If your clone dispels, hokage will handle it creating henged clone of you to register your presence. We are doing this now", Kakashi said.
"We can't do it here. Kyubi's chakra is strong and we need a safe place", Naruto argued.
"Then it is good we have time now. Let's scout for it", Kakashi said.
"Kaka-", Naruto started but Kakashi interrupted him. "Why are you so against removing that seal? I thought you wanted it gone?", Kakashi asked.
"I do. I don't think this is the right time", Naruto said.
"What right time is required to do the right thing?", Kakashi was beginning to understand Naruto was scared and nervous.
"Well, then you can leave to Konoha and report the mission. I will do it by myself. I did the last one myself", Naruto tried to convince Kakashi to leave.
"No. I am not leaving you alone", Kakashi thought this idea was ridiculous but his reply was as cool as ever. "Naruto, I understand you are scared but this thing needs to be done and I am going to be here"
"You humans are self-absorbed", kyubi snickered.
"I am not scared. I just think we can't explain how kyubi's chakra must come forth to remove my seal but no one detected in Konoha, since officially, team 7 except you is inside Konoha", Naruto said.
"Well, I will send a message to the hokage spreading the message that the Jiraya-sama had taken you outside the village since team 7 is on rest as I am out on mission. Danzo can't suspect that. No one opposes this reason", Kakashi said.
"Kakashi, I am not doing this now", Naruto said firmly.
"What is going on Naruto?", Kakashi was confused by Naruto's behavior. "If you are worried that you don't want me to see you in pain or scared and that would alter my views on seeing you as captain, you don't have to worry. I think you are more than ready to do it and I am proud of you".
"Even though it was nowhere near to what I was thinking, thank you. It feels good. Kakashi, I am not scared", Naruto explained.
"Then?"
"I am scared but not of you but for you", Naruto voiced it out at last.
"You are scared for me?!", Kakashi looked curious. "Why?"
"Kyubi's chakra", Naruto gave an obvious answer.
"I have already seen you using kyubi's chakra when you tried to break the seal on Wave", Kakashi reminded.
"'Tried' and 'did' is not same. 'Did' part requires more chakra than the 'tried' part. This seal requires is not just powering through it. It requires delicate handling of chakra and kyubi is going to do it. I trust him to do it and it is a long process. I am afraid you will not be able to handle it and kyubi isn't a fan of anyone", Naruto explained and Kakashi understood he might have been hasty.
"I understand Naruto. But no matter it is today or a year from now, I am going to be there. I don't trust kyubi and I don't know him. But I trust you when you say he can do it because he already did it once and I trust your judgement. I know you are scared for me about kyubi getting out of control or me getting out of control because of the past but it is inevitable this thing happens someday. And seeing kyubi helping you may make it easier for me to see him in a different light than seeing him help you fight dozens of bandits on a bridge with a demonic chakra", Kakashi pointed out but Naruto wasn't convinced.
"Give me some time. I need to talk to kyubi before all that", Naruto said and vanished.
Kakashi was determined not to let Naruto take any risks alone. It was already a big compromise on his part to do this thing in Howling village filled with medicines than finding Tsunade-sama. He also wanted to do know how Naruto and kyubi solved the seals.
Naruto reached deeper part of the forest before diving in his mind to face kyubi.
"Kyubi, did you hear it?"
"I am not deaf brat"
"What do you think?"
"I don't mind that dog summoning sharinghan wielder in the vicinity. He might even serve as a watchman", kyubi gave a smirk.
"I see. You will not scare him right?"
"Naruto, you know he is right. You are scared", kyubi said.
"I trust you to heal me without affecting my brain", Naruto shrugged.
"I am not talking about that. What are you scared of Naruto?", kyubi asked.
"You know", Naruto said knowing kyubi knew him the best. After all, it was a constant presence in his almost thirteen years of life.
"You are scared that he will look at you like a monster, like me", kyubi said as a matter-of-fact.
"I am afraid he will only see us as murderers", Naruto clarified.
"Not much difference"
"A monster doesn't have to be a murderer. It just needs to be powerful, scary and big. The one you were before Madara caught you. But twelve years ago, that changed", Naruto said.
"Are you blaming me?", kyubi asked not- caring but deep down the fox cared.
"I did and I got over it. Right now, all I am seeing is a friend and a partner. Big scary looking, fluffy partner", Naruto said and kyubi went, "I am not fluffy", but Naruto continued "I am just scared that he won't look at you like I do and after that he may look at me like he looks at you".
"Murderer of his sensei and his sensei's wife"
"It seems horrible when I say that to you but I just don't want him to be scared of me or hate me again", Naruto said with a sigh.
"That's your problem. Why are you here?", kyubi was getting irritated.
"I know that is my problem and I cannot do anything about it. If he avoids me again, it is good thatI already have training to live alone. I will be alright eventually", Naruto said and kyubi looked at him approvingly.
"I am here for another problem. You know this seal is different. It might even mess my memories. He will be there with his sharinghan open. He would try to see what and how you remove the seal. That man is a genius for reason".
"He isn't Madara or your Uchiha rascals. He can't do anything to me."
"I know. I don't want you to do anything to him purposefully"
"Don't tell me what I can and cannot do brat"
"Kyubi, this is important. You misbehave, I will have to be in the middle of you and him. You may not love me but you don't hate me despite what you say"
"I do hate you and ask me politely"
"Not happening"
"You want it or not?"
"Oi fox, you are living inside me. Do you really think you can deny me?", Naruto asked and kyubi smirked.
"I would have smacked you in the face if you conceded", kyubi said proud that his host wasn't a wimp.
"I have another request"
"What is it now? Your face irks me", kyubi said.
Naruto ignored kyubi's taunts and explained, "When you remove the seal, I might remember how I got the seal and some other things I repress. You know what I mean right?", Naruto asked.
"I do", kyubi said exhaling louder.
"I want you to protect me. I mean if I start to reveal some things involuntarily in my unconscious state, knock me out with excess chakra or stop the process or whatever, but don't let him know it. I am not quite ready to reveal that part of my life", Naruto asked.
"I can't let my host seen as a nervous wreck. That would be an insult to the mighty kyubi", kyubi said and Naruto smiled.
"I almost like you as much as I like ramen", Naruto said and kyubi growled trying to claw him through the seal. Naruto chuckled and vanished with a 'bye foxy', over his shoulder.
Naruto didn't stop and found a cave and altered it with wood release jutsu earth release jutsu and lot of seals to make it look natural and safe.
He then went to Tenma to discuss some other matters. Naruto sent one of his summons to Kakashi and let him know that they will be doing it that day.
Kakashi was surprised by the unexpected action on Naruto's part. He thought Naruto needed more convincing.
At dusk, after eating some large meal, Naruto and Kakashi went to the cave with the medicine from Tenma.
"The cave is large", Kakashi noted.
"Safe too. I put lot of seals. What do you think?", Naruto asked and Kakashi inspected the seals.
"They are good and I don't understand some of them."
"Uzumaki brain"
"I guess that explosive powder from mysterious people belong to Uzumakis too?"
"Yup. The one they used to destroy the island so no one would find what is on the island after they died. Theirs were more advanced. They can use it safely under water", Naruto said approving the intelligence of Uzumaki clan.
"But they still didn't use it to win the war against them. They didn't want this powder to be popular and cause more destruction in the world", Kakashi said approving the heart of Uzumaki clan.
"Yup. They wanted the seals to be popular", Naruto said.
"Speaking of, do we do it at night?", Kakashi asked.
"We? I am the one doing everything. What is he cawing for?", kyubi retorted.
"Yes. There won't be chakra outburst more like a chakra leak. The work has to be done from inside. Try imagining a genjutsu which prevents you from remembering a particular skill. I have a seal that targets someone from using all of my skills after a certain level, like Hyuga branch clan seal. It allows you to become strong but you cannot think about becoming a clan head and you can be destroyed with a single hand seal if required", Naruto explained.
"No need for that destroying part. I understand", Kakashi said leaning on the wall of the cave.
"You do understand that if kyubi messes up I might become an actual mentally challenged person right?", Naruto asked teasing Kakashi.
"I don't think kyubi would like such host. So, I am not worried about that", Kakashi said countering the teasing with logic.
"Smart. Before we start, don't interrupt kyubi. He knows better. You might see me in pain. Don't reach for me. The kyubi's chakra covering me would burn you. Do you have any chakra storage seals with your chakra stored? I don't want it to be filled but a sample of your chakra will be enough", Naruto asked and Kakashi gave him one.
"I am going to keep this near me. So, kyubi get used to your chakra and the kyubi Naruto not attack you if you come near"
"Understood"
"There is one more thing Kashi", Naruto said uncharacteristically serious for his age. "Whatever you see or hear about me here today, don't speak a word about it. If you can't accept my last condition, please leave now."
Kakashi looked Naruto on his eyes and raised his three fingers on the gloved hand towards the sky, "I swear".
"Thank you. Stay as far as you can away from me", Naruto warned and sat on the meditation position.
"And Kakashi, one more thing"
"Yo"
"You are okay to be around me with maximum three tails. If you see four, run", Naruto warned even though the limit is five.
"I am not running"
"No Kakashi. It is not that. No matter how many tails I give into, the worst that can happen is me burning myself and pass out after an hour max. If it exceeds that, I would not survive so kyubi wouldn't survive. So, he would let go of the control by himself. But, if you try to come in between, it is of no help and you will only harm yourself", Naruto detailed his reasons.
"How does that work?"
"I lose consciousness of my body after three tails. You don't have to worry though. Kyubi isn't interested in killing in anyone except Madara for now", Naruto said with a smile.
"So, save yourself first and follow me in a safe distance if I lose control. Then, carry me back and treat me after I am exhausted and falls unconscious. You need to be alive to protect me, otherwise, Ame ninjas are the nearby ninja village. I will be captured by them", Naruto reminded.
"Maa. Maa, I know. Don't worry", Kakashi said with an eye smile and Naruto nodded.
After explaining few other things, at night, Naruto started sitting in a meditation position and Kakashi took his position at the entrance of the cave. After few minutes, Naruto laid down.
Kakashi waited and after quarter of an hour, he sensed a chakra different from that of Naruto's. Oddly, it didn't give him a dangerous feeling. He watched as Naruto was slowly covered by a reddish gold chakra. As time passed, the chakra was becoming potent and a thin layer fully formed around Naruto. It was flickering between red and gold.
According to Naruto's explanations, gold means kyubi's healing and red means violent or destroying. Kakashi deduced that kyubi's destroying the seal and healing the strain on Naruto at the same time.
Kakashi could see Naruto was holding back the pain by the scrunch of his eye brows and the tightening of the fists. Naruto was increasingly covered by the chakra and pain increased too.
Another fifteen minutes passed and Naruto wasn't any better. He was mumbling something unintelligible.
Kakashi strained his ears to listen and still couldn't make sense.
Kyubi was busy healing Naruto's brain and working on the seal. The seal primarily prevented Naruto from comprehending things. It was inflicted to destroy a particular part of his brain over time. But Naruto being Naruto, used his chakra and kyubi's help and temporarily bypassed the seal for all the planning he had to do. It gave him headaches often but he had no other choice. He had to stay on top of the game to survive.
Since it was a painful process, he stopped using it for learning. He worked hard and increased his comprehension day by day with the memories kyubi showed of Shodaime, Nidaime and his father's life. The fox also told him some new things and pointers after being irritated by Naruto's repeated efforts. He bypassed the seal when comprehending new jutsus but always tired after.
Naruto wanted to remove the seal earlier but kyubi advised him his body would not able to take the strain. It also advised him to have a solid basic knowledge of everything if something went wrong and the seal couldn't be removed. But, now was the right time for the seal to be removed as a war was on the horizon in the shinobi world.
Kyubi was working on the seal and it was being extra careful. Though it said it only cared about his host being a smart one, but both Naruto and kyubi knew it cared for Naruto. Kyubi would not admit, but it was infinitesimally happy that Naruto trusted him so much after he killed Naruto's parents.
Kakashi opened his sharinghan and saw how the process was going on. But he didn't know it was because of something kyubi did or Naruto did, he could only see the chakra flow to Naruto's brain and nothing else.
But with the way Naruto's incoherent words were becoming increasing legible, he could say that Naruto's pain was increasing. The words 'Shuishi nii san', 'Itachi baka', 'ramen' 'not a demon' 'don't look at me like that', 'Inu' 'hokage jiji' made frequent appearance.
Kakashi felt like his throat was blocked by something and he tried to swallow hard. He wanted to go and ensure Naruto, that he was here and everything was okay. He wanted to tell him that nothing would ever hurt him but he held back. Kakashi knew he had no rights to say those things now and he was in no place to protect Naruto from Madara or his legacy.
Kakashi vowed he would find a way to become stronger and protect Naruto. He never thought he would want to stronger after resigning from ANBU. He thought he would want to just maintain his current strength but Naruto needed him now and what he could offer wasn't enough. He had to get better to keep Naruto and all his students alive from the impending danger.
Kakashi never knew the decision he made in the cave that day would bring back another shinobi again in the history of Konoha, who would one day rival kages for his comrades.
Naruto was half awake and half dreaming. nI his mind he was in a cage trying to open its bars and the kyubi was trying to help open its doors. It was ironic considering Naruto was the cage to the kyubi. His head was throbbing and he was trying hard not to lose consciousness.
He never told Kakashi but one has to be conscious to remove this kind of seal so as not to lose any more memories. He was on the edge of cage trying to pry open the bars and get outside. The lock was too heavy and the key was slowly coming nearer and nearer. Each and every step seemed slower to Naruto and it also caused a huge jolt throughout his body every time. He felt like he was being electrocuted again and again and only on his head. It felt like shock therapy.
When kyubi was countering the seal an unknown disturbance occurred. Half way through the process, the seal regenerated itself again.
"What's happening kyubi?"
"It is you", the fox replied.
"Huh?"
"Your chakra is recharging the strength of the seal. You have to block your chakra from reaching the seal. Otherwise it is a loop of waste efforts", fox explained.
"Ok"
"I will take control. Does Kakashi know?"
"I explained to him. You just don't go overboard", Naruto said before relinquishing the control.
"It will be painful"
"I know"
Naruto tried to block his chakra in one place and kyubi increased its chakra to Naruto's brain. Kakashi who was watching with the sharinghan open, immediately noticed the difference. He wanted to stop and enquire what was going on but he knew better than to intervene.
The red chakra was increasing more when compared to gold which meant that seal was being destroyed but the healing process was slower. Naruto was holding his head in his hands trying not to wriggle with the pain.
After almost another half an hour passed, kyubi reached the heart of the seal. But this part was tricky. The timeline at which the seal was placed was getting closer to some traumatic events and kyubi almost didn't want to open the seal. It knew that particular period was Naruto's worst but Naruto needed to get rid of this seal, once and for all.
Kyubi thought for a minute and made a decision after talking with Naruto.
Kyubi slowly etched away the seal and the painful memories assaulted Naruto. Naruto started losing consciousness and mumbled incoherent words.
Kakashi was trying to piece the words together but it wasn't making sense. He was all for respect to privacy, but if he accidentally heard something, it wasn't his fault. Kakashi was all for bending the rules to help friends anyway.
Kyubi didn't waste any time and a powerful chakra burst happened. Naruto slowly started 'cloaking' with a single tail in front of Kakashi sitting up while Kakashi stood in a taut manner waiting.
Waiting for what? Kakashi couldn't tell.
Two tails…
Three tails…..
Fourth tail was slowly forming and Kakashi was a nervous. His instincts were reminding him of the night twelve years ago while his mind was reminding Naruto was here and he couldn't abandon him the second time.
As much as kyubi enjoyed the look on Kakashi's face, he was tired and he knew Naruto was in turmoil.
After three generations, it decided to speak to another person that was not Naruto, of its own accord.
Kakashi saw the tails flickering between three and four.
"Sharinghan no Kakashi", kyubi said and Kakashi froze on the ground.
"You are kyubi. What happened to Naruto?", Kakashi couldn't believe kyubi's voice is coming out of Naruto's mouth.
"Let's make it clear. I don't like you and humans at all. I am only doing this so that my brat of a host can survive this. This brat's seal is gone and he will experience a great influx of memories. It would be better for him to sleep it out. There is no injury to heal. I can't help much with his nightmare of memories. I will go full four tail and recede which should be enough to knock out the already worn out stubborn idiot. You feed him the medicine and wait till he wakes up naturally. It might take three days or more. I don't have much chakra. So, be on guard and keep this brat alive until he wakes up. If you let something ill befall my host, I will eat you and your villagers", kyubi warned in a snarling tone.
'That was awfully detailed instructions and thoughtful for someone who doesn't care', Kakashi thought, now that he was relieved that Naruto was okay.
"Understood"
"Bail on him again, I will make sure everything you have worked for until now will turn into ashes. I will start with your selfish loud-mouthed twinkie and prideful power hungry duck butt of students. Keep your dumb and dumber students's paws off of Naruto. If not, once I get a chance, I will take a piece from them both. My host will not be bullied by anyone especially by rats like them", kyubi said and flared its chakra.
It took lot of effort on Kakashi's part not to take a step back. 'Rats huh? Interesting choice of words'.
It also hurt Kakashi to know that even though Naruto denied it constantly, it did hurt him when Kakashi abandoned him now at the beginning of team seven or seven years earlier. If it didn't hurt that deeply, kyubi wouldn't sent a special warning. Kakashi noted to keep Sakura from hitting Naruto but with Sasuke, he couldn't help much.
Kyubi after few minutes receded back while Kakashi waited anyone to show up to investigate the demonic chakra. But Naruto's seals worked wonders and no one found out the chakra flare.
Naruto was burnt a little but he was still breathing. He was completely knocked out and had a bit of fever. Kakashi applied medicine on him and waited for him to wake up.
Naruto constantly spoke some incoherent words but Kakashi learnt few unpleasant things. This had become a cycle of same things over and over every ten or twelve hours. But what caught his interest was Sasuke, Sakura and even Mikato Uchiha, Sasuke and Itachi's mom's name came up in between.
Kakashi sent a message informing hokage about their late arrival to Konoha. He trained his sharinghan while waiting for Naruto to wake with the help of Tenma. Kakashi wanted to be useful to Naruto and decided to take his vice-captain job seriously.
Naruto gave him a folder to look through before the seal removing process. He told Kakashi that he might take some time to wake up and Kakashi could go through his plan for squad zero in the meantime if he felt bored.
Kakashi opened the folder he was knocked off his pedestal once again. It was so detailed and organized rivaling his and his sense's working style.
The folder contained lot of sections starting with existing members profiles. It had their skills and disadvantages. Their successful and lost mission statistics and their reasons. Their personal likes and dislikes and possible out of Konoha friendships which was something unheard of.
The next section contained ninja villages and somewhere marked dangerous, do not send them and a shinobi name.
'Oh, he is analyzing which village could end up fatal and which village has the most potential to deal with peace. Like stone ninjas hate me. I can't go to the village so send Anko. Anko can't go anywhere near Orochimaru was seen or heard. Send me. Genma has friends in curtain village. Send him there. This idea is new and useful', Kakashi was impressed.
The next section contains the chakra affinity and formation and possible combinational jutsus or sequence jutsu and even some original ideas and new jutsus for each one of them.
Another section had a name called potential members.
Another named mask-less heroes of squad zero.
Another section with possible missions for the members and some other missions without a date. Some required investigative work. Some required stalking and some required seeing.
But it all focused on one basic thing in common. How to protect your village without putting your shinobis in danger?
Kakashi was going through his profile and interested to know what Naruto thought his disadvantage was. Under disadvantage it was written 'sharinghan'. Kakashi thought Naruto wanted to improve his sharinghan and completely missed the target by a mile. There was another disadvantage under his name, 'doesn't care about his life'. Kakashi wasn't shocked Naruto knew it. The third disadvantage was what made Kakashi smile. 'Knows my identity. Will be hard for him to see me as captain and listen to my executive decisions'. Kakashi wasn't going to lie. He did have a hard time seeing Naruto as Naruto and as Captain Ryu. But after this mission and this folder, he changed his mind. He understood Naruto was already a leader and he should respect that.
On the fourth day, Naruto woke up and sat down leaning on the wall of the cave when Kakashi returned with some medicine.
"Naruto, how are you feeling?", Kakashi asked touching Naruto's forehead.
"Thirsty"
"Your fever is gone", Kakashi said giving him water.
Naruto drank all the water in the bottle and closed his eyes once again.
"How is your head?"
"Painful"
"I brought medicine. I will bring some soup for you. Take the medicine after drinking it".
After Kakashi left to buy some soup in the village, Naruto used water jutsu and cleaned himself up before talking to kyubi.
"Thanks kyubi"
"You look miserable not thankful"
"I remembered lot of things that I don't want to. Did Kakashi find out?"
"I could not block everything but your most guarded secrets are still private"
"Thank you. Have you recovered?"
"Not unless you do"
If kyubi pulled more chakra to recover its lost chakra, it might overdraw and delay Naruto's healing process.
"I will recover soon"
"Take your time", Kakashi said interrupting their conversation and Naruto disapproved.
Kakashi gave him the soup and Naruto started drinking it. "I spoke with kyubi"
"Spoke? Kyubi doesn't speak. He orders", Naruto said.
"I know", Kakashi said smirking.
"The mighty kyubi is right to order you puny creatures", kyubi said to Naruto.
"What did he say?", Naruto asked Kakashi ignoring kyubi.
"You didn't know what he said?", Kakashi asked curiously.
"I know he talked. He told me. But I was too tired to stay conscious and I know you two don't hate me enough to confront each other in a fight and mature enough to fight with words", Naruto said with a grin and Kakashi gave him an amused look.
"He isn't evil", Kakashi said.
"That is a good start but let's not continue. I have hard time dealing with you two alone. I am not ready for all the drama if you two are together"
"I am not dramatic", Kakashi was perplexed.
"He is", Naruto said and kyubi snarled at him.
"Don't shout. My head already hurts", Naruto said to the kyubi and Kakashi guessed what happened. He was starting to get used to this dynamic.
After two more days of rest, Naruto recovered enough and so Captain Ryu and his vice-captain Raiju left for Konoha after a successful mission.
