Naughty Nonsensical Neighbors: A parody of Naughty Nautical Neighbors from SpongeBob SquarePants with Total Drama characters.

Disclaimer for the series: Some (though far from all) chapters will contain moments of nudity or underwear due to the canon SpongeBob episodes' plots and gags, though it won't be anything that wouldn't happen in TD or SpongeBob. It was a bit of a stormy night outside, so Ella was sitting at a desk in her room, studying for an upcoming college exam. Although the thunder did give Ella "a bit of a fright sometimes," in her words, having Mittens on her lap helped with both her fear and the cat's own.

"In a sel- Oh!" The princess read out before hearing her phone ring. Trying to not get distracted by her ringtone as she had in the past, she answered the phone. "Hello there!"

What she heard was inaudible, but she could make out the sound coming from her big buddy Owen. She could only make out some of what was being said. "Man, that's a bad storm! Ugh- Ella- can't- because- broken- I guess not everything can last forever…" She heard him presumably explain, making the princess's heart drop.

"Wait, Owen! We can't- I-I mean we can fix this!" She stuttered out, correcting her speaking error.

"Fix what? Nothing was ever- Except- Ella."

"Oh, what ever do you mean? I don't want to hate you! Or anyone! That's far too mean!"

The call suddenly ended after that.

Ella started trying to fill the gaps that her friend- ex-friend, probably, she reminded herself, probably told her. "Was he telling me that our friendship is broken?" She put together with tears in her eyes.

Mittens crawled up against his owner's leg, trying to comfort the sobbing princess. The songbird picked him up and tried to avoid letting any of her tears land on him. She was clearly trying to let something out, but she just kept closing her mouth after opening it. Her cat just rubbed his head on her shoulder to try to help.

One Day Later…

The next morning, Ella was watering some plants, when she heard some heavy footsteps from one direction and smaller footsteps in another. Her face lit up in joy for a moment before it suddenly fell as she recalled yesterday's events. She turned around and noticed that the smaller ones were the ones she heard more closely. "Oh, good morning, Noah." She greeted as she stood up and dusted off her skirt.

"What, no sing-songy greeting today?" Noah remarked.

Ella just looked down and sighed sorrowfully. "I-I'm a little out of the mood."

When the bookworm didn't reply with anything but a roll of his eyes, the singer continued.

"I believe I've lost one of my greatest relationships… Just yesterday afternoon, I'm fairly certain Owen had told me our friendship was broken and couldn't last forever."

"If it was Sugar, you dodged a bullet." He simply countered, thinking Ella was overreacting.

"Well, it was Owen himself that I believe I had a falling out with. I do want to talk with him later when we're all together, but it may not be the greatest idea…"

Noah scoffed. "Over your girlfriend? I'm sure she'll be there since you always bring her everywhere you go. Nice priorities."

"Oh, I didn't mean it like that!" Ella corrected. "I wanted to talk with her as well, but she and I are doing just wonderfully, so I wanted to talk to Owen as well."

"Whatever." The bookworm dismissed before walking away.

There was a cut to a few hours later, with many people sitting around tables. People were conversing and eating breakfast. It was a bit noisy, but that didn't seem to matter for Sammy and Ella. The singer was being all lovey-dovey with her as usual. From about a table or so away, something that the songbird had intentionally done, Noah and Owen were sitting and conversing among themselves.

The big guy chuckled as he nudged Noah on the shoulder. "Hey, you think they'll kiss this time?" Owen questioned.

"Why do you always care so much about that?" The bookworm responded.

"I-I dunno! They're always so lovey with each other, but I never see them actually do it! See, look?"

The camera panned over to show the two girls giggling with each other, a tint of red on Sammy's cheeks. Ella made some flirt about the twin being as cute as a mouse before the camera then went back to the boys. Noah was heard making choking noises, making Owen laugh.

"Aww, c'mon, Noah! It's not that bad." The big guy stated before looking at his friend and seeing something bad. "Holy fish sticks, you are choking! Hang on!"

The big eater got up and performed the heimlich on Noah, making him spit out his food and start gasping.

"Thanks, buddy." The know-it-all said without a hint of sarcasm in his voice for once.

"No problem!" Owen chuckled. "Buddy. Well, at least I know I still have one then! Ella's been acting weird lately. When I called her yesterday, she said something like "we can't fix this." And she's been avoiding me." His demeanor seemed slightly sadder now.

Noah pondered what the big guy had just said. To him, it seemed out of character for the embodiments of sunshine to be this way.

"But, hey, at least I have a best bud in you, little buddy!" Owen claimed to cheer himself up, hugging the know-it-all before he could piece the situation together.

Noah let out a wheeze. "Kinda would like the use of my lungs back." He squeaked out.

"Oh, hehe! Yeah, sure thing, bud!" Owen chuckled as he released his friend from his clutches.

"Yeah, I think I'm gonna leave. Not much else to do here."

"Oh, okay! Can I come with you then?"

The bookworm shrugged, not caring either way. "Whatever."

Another cut was then shown, after everyone had left. Noah and Owen were now in the former's apartment.

"So what are we gonna do now, best friend?" Owen questioned.

"You act like I do anything with my time." Noah remarked. "I was probably just gonna read something and listen to music."

"Oh, okay! I'll get it then." As the bookworm went to sit down, the big guy put a CD in a music player.

"Yeah! E minor, alright, yeah!" He celebrated, despite the music clearly not being in E minor. "Oh, food coma…" He suddenly groaned before flopping over and promptly falling asleep.

The scene then switched over to Ella, who winced at the sudden thumping noise. "Perhaps I should try to think about other things. I have a good amount of other friends to talk to, right? There's Sammy and, ah, I suppose she's more than a friend, but…" She sighed and grabbed a few stuffed animals to set them on her bed with her.

"You would consider yourselves my friends, right?" She sadly asked despite knowing they wouldn't reply. The dog plushie she set on the bed fell on its side right after that sentence left her mouth. This made her sigh sadly once more as her eyes developed tears. This didn't last too long, though, as she had soon heard struggling out in the hallway.

Confusion and curiosity overtaking sadness, the girl went to investigate this. Walking into the hallway, she saw Noah struggling to get Owen out of his room. "C'mon, big guy!" He groaned as he pulled as hard as he could.

"Oh, Noah! Would you like some help?" Ella offered.

"If you can pull a tub of ecstasy, then yes please!" He grunted. Ella put her hands on Owen's and heaved the best a princess girl like her could. As the two moved the big guy, Ella heard a cracking sound, followed by a yelp of pain.

"Oh, goodness! Are you alright, Noah?"

Noah put his hands on his back as he hunched over. "I threw out my back trying to move this chubby guy!"

"Noah!" Ella replied in horror.

"Whatever! Just help me fix this thing."

As the two let go of Owen, he began slowly rolling down the hall. Not seeming to notice, Ella got behind Noah and made him stand up straight, causing another loud pop.

"Ow!" Noah exclaimed.

Ella winced. "My apologies! Do you at least feel better now?"

"Why would I- Actually, yeah. How did you-" The bookworm cut himself off, realizing something. "Hey, where did Owen go?"

"Oh, and I had wanted to talk to him now that things have calmed down a bit." The princess frowned.

The know-it-all entered his own apartment again as the camera panned to him. I have no idea what's going on with those two, but I need to put a stop to it to get them out of my hair.

The scene cut once again to show Ella checking her mail just outside of the apartment.

"Oh, how inviting!" She exclaimed as she held up, predictably, an invite. She walked up to Noah's apartment room and nearly walked into Owen. Literally. "Oh, excuse me! My apologies!"

She looked to her left and noticed who she actually almost made contact with. "Oh, Owen! Hello there. I've actually been wanting to talk to you since earlier today, but I would get distracted with other things or have things get in the way. Did you really mean what you said in the phone call yesterday evening?"

"Huh?" Owen questioned, seemingly genuinely confused. "What did I say? I just got sad because of what you were saying. I was just saying that my umbrella was broken."

"Oh…" Ella replied, beginning to understand and feeling a little silly now. "But what did you think I said? All I tried to say was that we could fix our friendship. I thought you said my name and that it was broken, and then told me that nothing was there in the first place…"

"I heard you say that you hated me and that "we couldn't fix this." And then I think you called me mean…"

"I would never say that about you, or anyone!" The princess assured. "It must have just been the thunder messing with the connection and making us mishear each other. I suppose I was just being a bit silly then."

"Aww, it's okay, buddy! We're still best buds till the end!" The big guy guaranteed as he lifted the songbird into a hug. Despite her bones being crushed, she returned it with a smile on her face.

A/N: Despite the simple plot of this episode, I found this to be a little too simple, if that makes sense? The original plot had SpongeBob and Patrick get mad at each other, of course, but it wouldn't make sense for Ella or Owen to get mad, the former especially. So we replaced the false miscommunication from Squidward, aka Noah here, to real miscommunication, and the anger to sadness. As always, we hope you enjoyed the chapter.
