"Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!" Ella called out in a sing-song tone as she skipped out of her part of the apartment. She twirled as she tossed plenty of plastic hearts out of her arms, all in varying colors.
There was a small montage of the princess giving almost everyone she knew one of these hearts. She slid one underneath Noah's door, who picked it up and tossed it behind him somewhere, she gave one to Owen (his had a chocolate on the back, which the food lover immediately ate), and she gave one to Max, who looked oddly touched by the gesture.
Ella danced her way to her friend Harold's place to almost end her journey, now with a cake in her hands. The heart was on top of the cake's case. She was saving her grandest gesture for her girlfriend, but for now, she needed a little help from one of the smartest people she knew. "Happy Valentine's Day, Harold!" She wished, handing the geek a heart.
"Thanks, Ella." Harold nodded to show acknowledgement and took the heart, but he then immediately changed the subject. "What's the plan again?"
"Okay, well, so first, Samantha and I get to the carnival while you make the frame for our picture! Then she and I get on top of the ferris wheel to give you just a bit more time - and so we can kiss, of course -" She giggled, then continued. "Then you come into view and I point at you so Sammy knows about the present! And finally, step four: Sammy is excited and has the best Valentine's Day ever!" She gushed, clapping near her chest and throwing her arms up into the air.
As the princess did this move, the screen filled with hearts raining down, which transitioned to her walking up behind Sammy. She giggled as she got behind her and tugged on her shirt to get her attention.
"Huh? Wh-who-'' The cheerleader turned on her heel to see her girlfriend. "Oh, hi, El-'' Thei songbird hugged her, cutting her off early. "-lie?" She finished, now blushing.
Ella laughed some more at her lover's reaction. "Hello!" She beamed, still not letting her escape her embrace. She wasn't particularly strong, but she was squeezing with all her might. Sammy… might have felt a bit of a tickle. "Happy Valentine's Day!"
"H-Happy Valentine's Day, Ella!" Sammy stammered. "I, um, I have something for you! It's… not a hug, though! It's… this!" She backed out of the hug and presented something to her lover. It was a pink shirt with a red heart on it, which looked like it would fit Ella well. "I-it's not perfect, but I don't know as much as you about sewing-"
The singer giggled, cutting her off with another hug. "I love it, princess! I'll wear it tomorrow! And I have a great gift for you too!" Even though she was trying to hype Sammy up, she was really only doing it to herself. "Oh, it'll be the best Valentine's Day anyone will ever have today!" She bounced up and down, once again ending her own embrace.
The twin laughed at her girlfriend's excitement. "Okay, okay, Ellie! I'm looking forward to it."
"Goodness, I wish I could tell you! But that would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it?"
"Well… do you want to?" Sammy questioned, seeming confused.
"Ah… not exactly, but let's head to the carnival!"
The scene then cut to the couple exactly there, holding hands as they walked through the entrance.
"Here, Sammy! Have a bit of money to buy yourself some cotton candy!" The princess offered, using her free hand to hand her girlfriend some cash.
The cheerleader took it, giggling and blushing as she flirted. "I-it'll be just as sweet as you!"
Ella couldn't help but blush at this herself. "Oh, thank you, princess!"
As Sammy walked over to buy some cotton candy, Ella received a phone call from Harold. "Hello?"
"The frame's ready! But there's some people who really want it."
"Who?"
"These birds, they're attacking my car!" One bird pecked the wheels, causing a flat tire. "I'm gonna need a little time, Ella! I can't keep on like this."
Ella sighed and let Harold hang up. What could she do? She needed that frame for Sammy - it was their big celebration for their love.
"I'll have to make her something else for now, until I can hopefully recover the photo." She mused to herself, right as Sammy came back. Thankfully, the blonde hadn't heard anything.
"H-hey, uh, Ella, you know how, um, people call ferris wheels romantic?" The twin brought up. Ella gasped, immediately knowing what her lover was referring to. She grabbed her arm and pulled her gently yet hurriedly to the line for the ride.
"I'm sure you're going to enjoy the gift once it's ready!" Ella assured as she and Sammy waited.
"Hehe, yeah, it's probably gonna be great! Coming from you, I mean." The cheerleader agreed.
The two then got on the ferris wheel, just before it was ready to move.
"I wonder what the gift is gonna be." Sammy thought aloud.
"Aren't you an eager one?" Ella giggled. "I'll give it to you by the time we're done at the fair!"
I hope… Her mind added.
Soon enough, the two were at the top of the ferris wheel. "Okay, here we are! Look over there! It's where your gift will be." The princess pointed over to a random tent in the amusement park.
The twin looked for a moment before returning her attention to her lover. "Ella, that's just a-" Sammy started before Ella suddenly kissed her on the lips.
Sammy's face was as red as her cheer uniform. She definitely liked this gift. "I-I don't think that gift was over there." She laughed.
"No, you caught me." The songbird admitted with a shrug and a big grin on her face. "But I don't think you mind, right?"
"No, it was- it was great!"
"And there will be something even better later." Ella teased as she hugged her girlfriend again, just making her blush more. The princess continued to look out onto the horizon, confusing Sammy.
"What are you looking at?"
The singer thought quickly - she couldn't tell the truth; that'd ruin the surprise! Oh, but she couldn't lie! So what if she did neither, in a way? "Ah, um, I-I'm… looking at… the sun! Two things that light up my world!"
"Aww." Thankfully, the blonde accepted this answer, putting her hands to her chest. Ella giggled at this, and the ferris wheel descended soon after.
"So is… is the gift just going to the carnival with you?" Sammy questioned as they walked towards another ride.
"Well, that is part of it, but there is something very special I have planned for a special person!"
Even though Sammy had already been her usual flushing, laughing self, Ella never got tired of it. She hooked her arm underneath the twin's and closed her eyes with a smile.
A montage was then shown of the couple going on the various rides, with Sammy looking more and more unsure if anything more was going to come out of this day after each one. She trusted Ella to not lie to her, but she was anticipating it and couldn't help but be nervous.
Ella, however, looked like she was having the time of her life on everything. She excitedly yelled like a little kid in the bounce house, she laughed at the many silly reflections in the funhouse mirrors, and she screamed as she hugged Sammy tightly on the roller coaster. The cheerleader herself still seemed like she had fun, though.
After all their fun was done, the two were shown on a bench, talking to each other. "So, um, Ella… you don't have to get me anything if it's taking too long for you."
"But I have something prepared! He- um, I mean, it's just not here yet!" The singer protested.
"It's okay, Ella. I promise. A fun day out was all I needed, really. And even-" A random woman walked up.
"Hey, Ella, thanks for the flowers!" She said, having a bouquet of roses in her hands.
"Um, no problem, Ashley! Go on, Sammy." The princess pressed on, but as the cheerleader opened her mouth, a second person came up.
"Thanks for the chocolate!" The man accidentally interrupted. Ella simply nodded and smiled, which he took
Sammy tried to control her annoyance. "And even though I've been your girlfriend for so long, and you've done nice things for a lot of people-"
Yet another person came up and thanked the songbird for a gift. This man had a bike. "Hey, thanks for the bike!" He turned to Sammy. "Can you believe her? I just met her this morning!"
The twin got up, looking frustrated now. She wasn't mad at Ella - just the fact that she was interrupted so many times. "-I still think a day out was enough. So thank you, but I'm ready to go home now." She headed to her car.
"Sammy!" The princess ran in front of the door. "It'll be here in just a minute, promise!"
"Ella, it's fine. We had fun today." Sammy insisted, gently trying to push past her girlfriend.
"But there was-" Ella tried before being cut off.
"It's alright, don't worry."
The songbird then thought of something. If her and Harold's little plan was going to work, then she was going to need to stall a little. She didn't feel the greatest about it, but she knew she was doing something special that she didn't want her girlfriend to miss out on. "But I don't believe I've given you a kiss yet today, have I?"
"But you've given me, like, three."
"Um…" The singer thought. "What about hugs then?"
"You've also given me a lot of those. I-I mean, I don't mind, though."
"Ah, well, if you don't mind, consider this a goodbye kiss and hug then!" She hugged the twin and kissed her cheek. When Sammy tried to pull away a bit, the singer tightened her grip slightly.
"W-woah, E-Ella." Sammy was now quite flustered, her face going red from the unexpected length of the kiss.
Luckily, before Ella needed to explain, Harold drove right in.
"M'lady, I have the package." Harold greeted.
"What's this?" Sammy asked in confusion.
"It's my gift to you." The songbird explained.
Harold gave the gift to the twin, who opened it up. The present was a cake, and on top of the lid, there was a picture of the couple's first picture they ever took together. Ella had her left arm around her girlfriend's shoulder with a radiant smile, while the cheerleader was shyly smiling into the camera while gripping her right arm with her left nervously.
Ella saw Sammy smile at the present and smiled herself. "Happy Valentine's Day, Sammy!"
"Thank you so much, Ella. That's so sweet of you." The blonde stated.
Then it was Sammy's turn to kiss Ella, on the lips this time.
The princess sighed happily as the kiss was done. "The best Valentine's Day I could ask for!"
The screen then turned black as the picture could be seen in greater detail, with "the end" written in a cursive white font.
