Sleeping At Last - "Venus" ( Kenny )
Why Mona - Kiss Me
Hey Violet - Sparks Fly
On Saturday, Kenny texts Craig, telling him that yesterday's movie event gave him some inspiration for an idea of his own. He of course doesn't tell Craig what it is, since Craig had kept the movie a secret from him the whole day prior, only that he wanted to meet him that night at Stark's pond.
Despite how much this piques Craig's curiosity, he lets it be and waits.
He spends the day with Tweek in the meantime at the clubhouse, just the two of them, which was a rare occasion now, since Kenny had usually been there with them.
"You and Kenny seem pretty close lately," Tweek says.
Craig thinks he should be a bit surprised by Tweek saying that, but Tweek had been there with them every day, so he supposed it wasn't really that much of a stretch for him to mention it.
"Yeah, I guess so, since we've started dating now," Craig says.
"Dating?" Tweek repeats.
"Yeah, we've been dating for a few days now," Craig replies.
"I see… that's good then…" Tweek says, his gaze shifting to elsewhere, "you finally got what you want."
"What I…want?" Craig repeats, a bit confused.
"Aren't you happy?" Tweek asks, his gaze shifting back to Craig's.
"Tweek…?" Craig asks, hesitant.
He doesn't know why, but there's an odd shift in the air around them now. As if something isn't quite what it used to be anymore.
But Tweek only smiles in response.
"I think I'm going to make something new to add in here," Tweek tells him, "any requests?"
"Uh, no, not that I can think of, sorry," Craig replies, still utterly confused.
"It's fine," Tweek says and heads off, "I'll figure something out."
He goes about his business and Craig decides to let him be. Sensing that it may be best to just leave him alone for now.
When evening falls, Craig gets a text from Kenny telling him to head over when he's ready. Craig gives a small brief smile at the text, before he informs Tweek that he'll be heading off for the night. Tweek only gives a slow nod in response to him, despite it seeming like he was about to say something. But Craig doesn't pry, and gives his good night to him before heading off, deciding it best not to tell him about Kenny after that strange interaction from earlier.
Walking through the dark woods, he carefully makes his way over to Stark's pond, which luckily isn't too far away from the location of the clubhouse.
When he reaches the area, he finds Kenny seated on a bench and takes a seat next to him.
"Hey," Craig greets.
"Hey," Kenny greets back.
"So why'd you want me to meet you here tonight? What's this idea you have?" Craig asks.
"You'll see," Kenny replies, "but for now, why don't we talk for a little while?"
"Sure, about what?"
"About whatever you want."
"Helpful," Craig says sarcastically and Kenny chuckles.
But the two do fall into conversation relatively easily and time passes by quite fast.
Eventually, Kenny suggests they move to another location and gets up. There's a small bag that was hidden next to him and Craig wonders what's inside it as he follows Kenny. They walk until coming to a big lone maple tree out in the field, where Kenny then sets his bag down and opens it, taking out a blanket from it. He places it on the grass in front of the tree and lies down on it, motioning for Craig to join him as he does.
"Tonight, we lie under the stars!" Kenny proclaims, as Craig lies down next to him.
"Is this what you wanted to show me?" Craig chuckles.
"Yes," Kenny replies, "although I thought this could be a good way to test your knowledge too."
"Knowledge?"
"Yeah, your constellation knowledge. Let's see if you have any," Kenny says and turns back over to the bag, taking out a pair of binoculars to hand him, "I brought these as well, but I don't know how helpful they'll actually be."
"It's okay, I don't think I'll need them to point out any of the constellations," Craig laughs, and Kenny shrugs, putting them away.
"Well then Mr. Astronomer, show me your knowledge," Kenny gestures to the sky.
Craig chuckles and extends an arm, pointing at the first constellation he finds.
"Well up there is the Little Dipper, which is a bit hard to see, under it is the Big Dipper, then down there is Libra and Lupus," Craig scans the sky some more, his finger continuing to move around as a guide for the constellations he finds. "Oh, over there is Virgo, and next to it is Corvus."
Kenny smiles softly at Craig, as Craig continues on listing all the constellations he can find in the night sky.
"You really know your stuff, huh?" Kenny says.
Craig quiets down, feeling a bit embarrassed by how much he's rattled on about the stars.
"Sorry, guess I got a bit carried away," Craig replies, sheepishly.
"There's no need to apologize, I'm the one that asked you to show me them, remember?" Kenny points out.
"Did you… really just want to spend this night, listening to me talk about the stars?" Craig asks.
"Yeah," Kenny replies, "it's something that you like, and I want to understand the things that you like."
"Why?"
"Because I'm curious, and I want to know who you are," Kenny tells him.
There was something in that prospect that was both exciting and terrifying at the same time for Craig. While part of him did like that Kenny wanted to get to know him more, what if he came across a part of him that he didn't like? What if he discovered something about him that ended up making him hate him somehow? Although he knew it was unlikely to happen, since Kenny wasn't that kind of person, it made him at the very least, still a bit nervous.
"By the way, can I ask you something?" Craig asks, a thought from before coming to mind.
"Sure, what is it?"
"I uh," Craig mumbles, feeling a bit awkward about asking this, "when… when did you start to like me?"
"When?" Kenny repeats and Craig nods, "Hmmm, let me see. I think it was back in… 7th grade?"
"Really?" Craig asks, surprised.
"Yeah, it was back when you helped Butters during art class carry out some supplies. He obviously was carrying way too much, and nobody seemed willing to help because they were too absorbed in their own bubbles, but you saw him struggling and decided to go over and help him," Kenny explains, "after that, I started to notice you more."
"Just from that?" Craig asks.
"Considering that most people don't really have high regard about Butters, I'd say you going to help him was a pretty standout moment," Kenny chuckles, "but that was only one thing, out of the many other things I noticed you'd do throughout the years," he smiles, "you're not as tough or bad as people say you are."
"I never said I was," Craig tells him, "you flip off the teacher a handful of times back in elementary school, because you find it funny as a kid, then get in trouble for it and suddenly everyone sees you as some bad kid delinquent for the rest of your life. Although I guess one upside is that people leave you alone more and don't really pick fights with you as much."
"Little do they know, you're actually a giant space nerd who has a big ol' soft spot for cute small rodents," Kenny teases.
"That's because people will see what they want to see. It's rare that they'll actually want to go deeper than the surface level of knowing someone," Craig says.
"That's true," Kenny laughs, "many thought that just because I knew a few more things then they did about sex, that it must mean I'm a manwhore. That I must be going around experimenting all these things with people, so that must be the reason why I know these things. Instead of it being the fact that I have an older brother and father who kept one too many pornographic things lying around the house," he pauses, "or worse, when someone you think knows you, tells you that you'll just end up exactly like your parents when you grow up…"
There's a smile on Kenny's face still, but his gaze seems distant. Craig had gotten a small glimpse into Kenny's personal life just now, and despite how small it was, it was enough for him to start understanding Kenny more.
"I think..." Craig starts, "that as long as we know who we are, that's all that matters."
"You're right," Kenny nods, "as long as we ourselves know who we are and the truth, that's all that really matters."
Craig pauses.
"For what it's worth though, I think that you're a really kind person," he says, in an attempt to cheer Kenny up more.
"I wouldn't say that I am," Kenny replies, "I've definitely had my fair share of not being the nicest person to be around."
"Me too, but we all have those moments I think," Craig tells him, "but you seem like someone who's good-natured with his actions."
"Is this how you see me?" Kenny chuckles, "You make me sound so pure of heart and innocent."
"I just think you're a good person!" Craig says, his cheeks flushing a bit.
"It's cute," Kenny grins with a laugh, which only makes Craig's face heat more, "but when it comes to my thoughts of you, they are anything but innocent."
There's something hidden under his gaze that makes Craig's heart skip.
"Like… what?" Craig asks, feeling brave.
Kenny falls silent for a moment, as if debating on if he should reply or not.
"Like wanting to kiss you," he finally replies.
"Y-You want to kiss me?" Craig quietly asks, his face burning.
"Yes," Kenny answers just as quietly, "Can I?"
There's a slow nod that Craig gives, words seeming to get lost in his rising heart beat.
Kenny props himself up onto his forearm, which Craig slowly does as well. There's silence that falls between them, Craig wondering whether or not if he should make the first move. But Kenny seems to answer his question first, when raising his other hand and gently placing it on his cheek. Kenny smiles and Craig briefly wonders if it's possible for Kenny to feel just how hot his face was under his touch.
Kenny leans in, his eyes closing as he does. Craig's eyes shut and he waits, expecting Kenny's lips to touch his, but they don't. He can feel Kenny's breathing brush lightly against his lips, but that's all.
"On second thought… I want you to kiss me instead," Kenny quietly tells him.
The words make Craig's whole body warm. Kenny doesn't move away, clearly making it obvious that he was now waiting for Craig to go the rest of the way. Nervously, he leans forward and softly his lips make contact with Kenny's, pressing against them. They're held there for a few seconds before Craig pulls away. Kenny smiles and runs his thumb lightly over Craig's bottom lip.
"Is it selfish if I say that I want a bit more?" Kenny asks.
Craig feels a bit braver this time around, when he leans back in and kisses him. The kiss lasts much longer than the previous one and so do the subsequent multiple ones that follow it. Each one grows longer and deeper as Kenny's hand moves from the side of his cheek to the back of his neck.
Craig soon finds himself lying on his back once more, except this time Kenny was on top of him and his hand was now under his shirt and hoodie. The skin that Kenny's hand runs across on his abdomen is heightened in sensitivity, being set ablaze as his fingers and palm glide over it. He shudders when his fingers lightly move across his lower abdomen, a soft gasp escaping his mouth into Kenny's. Kenny's fingers begin to play with the button of his pants, causing Craig to gently push him away.
"Wait, I-I don't think I'm ready for anything more…" his face heats.
"Sorry," Kenny breathes, moving his hand away, "I guess I was getting a bit too carried away," he lightly kisses Craig's forehead and lies down next to him. "Would it be alright if we just held hands then?"
Craig shyly nods and takes his hand, interlocking their fingers.
They lie in silence, comfortably, enjoying the star-filled sky above them that night.
…
The rest of the weekend passes by and Craig enters into his final week of the school year.
Craig spends lunch this day with his friends, at least for the first half, since it's been a while. Finding the balance between spending time with them and Kenny was a bit tricky, but he at least wanted to spend some more time with them before the summer came along and they went on their family vacations, or long road trips.
"So how are you and Kenny doing?" Clyde asks.
"We're good," Craig replies, "how are you and uh, Bebe doing?"
"We're doing good," Clyde replies, "summer time will be a bit tricky for us, since both our families will be traveling around, but we're going to try our best to stay in touch during it."
"That's good," Craig says.
"You and Kenny going to hang out all summer I'm guessing?" Clyde asks.
"Maybe," Craig replies, "I know that my family doesn't really have anything big planned this year, but I'm not sure about Kenny's, I'll have to ask."
"I'm happy for you man," Clyde says, "for the both of you."
"Me too," Token adds.
"Even if it did take you this long, I'm happy for you," Clyde says.
"Oh gee, thanks," Craig says flatly.
There's a bit of laughter shared as they continue on with their conversation.
Eventually Craig makes his way outside to meet up with Kenny. During his walk to the field, where Kenny sits off to the side, the all too familiar colors of blond and green catch his eye. At first he is confused by it, thinking that he's seeing things, but as he keeps walking, the colors move. Move towards him. And sure enough, it is who he thinks it is.
Quickly he picks up pace.
"Tweek?" Craig asks as he approaches him, "What are you doing here?"
"I was curious," he replies.
"Curious? About what?"
"About your school life," Tweek replies, "you're always talking about it. And it's ending soon, so I wanted to come and see what it's like."
"Oh well—wait, how did you even find this place to begin with?"
"I followed you."
"Followed me? From where?"
"Your house."
"Wh-what? My house? Why were you—"
"Hey, what's up?" Kenny asks, approaching them, clearly having seen them from where he was sitting. "Tweek? What are you doing here?"
"He followed me," Craig replies.
"Followed?" Kenny repeats, corking a brow, "Why's that?"
"He wanted to see what my school life was like before it ended."
"Oh," Kenny says. But even Craig can tell that Kenny finds it a bit odd, like he does. "Well we're on lunch break right now, so you can spend it with us if you want but, it may be a bit hard when we have our classes," Kenny suggests, trying to be lighthearted about this strange occurrence.
Tweek remains quiet though and Craig is unsure if he fully understands or not.
"You should probably head back Tweek, there won't be much for you to do here," Craig tells him.
"But I want to stay," Tweek says.
Craig pauses, unsure of what to say. This certainly wasn't like him and he couldn't figure out why.
"I mean, we can show him around the outside, at least?" Kenny suggests with a slight shrug.
"…Sure," Craig nods.
They turn to show Tweek to follow, and Kenny goes to hold Craig's hand as they do. However, his hand never reaches Craig's. Instead, Craig's hand is taken abruptly by Tweek's, where it now lies firmly grasped in it.
"Tweek?" Craig asks, confused.
"Are you going to show me around?" Tweek asks, as if everything's fine.
"Uh, yeah, but could you…" Craig trails off, glancing down at their hands. He tries to free his hand, but Tweek's grip on it seems to tighten, "Tweek…?"
Craig looks over at Kenny, not knowing what to do in this situation. There's an expression on Kenny's face, as if there's something on his mind, but he only seems to shrug in response.
"It's alright," he tells him.
Craig gives a slow nod, understanding that Kenny is okay with it, and the two go about giving a short guide to Tweek for the remainder of lunch.
When the bell rings and it ends, they try their best to tell Tweek to head back to the clubhouse and wait for them there, but whether or not he'd listen to them… They didn't know.
However, when the end of the school day comes, it's made quite apparent what their answer is. Tweek had remained by the tree that they left him at, when lunch had ended. And seeing him there meant they'd have to skip taking the bus home that day.
"Why didn't you head back?" Craig asks, as they start their long walk to the clubhouse.
"I just wanted to see…" Tweek replies.
"But there isn't much to see honestly," Craig sighs. He looks at Kenny then, "You didn't have to skip taking the bus too, I could've walked him back."
"I know but, I wanted to," Kenny tells him, and Craig gives him a small smile.
They walk until reaching the outskirts of town, by which point, Kenny receives a call.
"What's up?" he answers his phone with, "Oh hey Karen, what's… whoawhoawhoa slow down," he goes silent listening, only giving a few 'mhmm's along the way before speaking again, "are you sure that he's… okay, I understand then. I'll be home soon."
As Kenny hangs up he looks back at Craig with an apologetic expression.
"Something come up?" Craig asks.
"Yeah, sorry, I got to head home. My parents are…" he sighs, shaking his head, "well, I just better get back before they do anything stupid is all."
"It's alright," Craig replies, "I understand, don't worry about it."
"Thanks," Kenny says, offering a smile, "I'll text you later?"
"Yeah," Craig nods.
They part ways shortly after that, Kenny heading back into town and Craig continuing his walk with Tweek back to the clubhouse.
Eventually they reach the clubhouse sometime later, and Craig sits down on one of the seats there, letting out a deep sigh of exhaustion. His legs were tired from all that walking around.
"Don't do that again, alright Tweek?" Craig asks, but there's no response. He looks over to find Tweek by the window, looking out of it with a distant gaze. "Tweek?"
"Alright…" he replies.
"Is something… wrong?" Craig asks, genuinely curious as to what's been up with his strange behavior.
Tweek looks over at him, a small pleasant smile on his face.
"No," is all he says, before he turns to head off and start work on something else.
Craig debates on if he should stay or leave early that day after the bizarre event that took place during lunch, but in the end chooses to stay. Despite how odd it was, he felt like he needed to stay and keep an eye on Tweek, just to make sure that everything was really okay.
At some point while watching him, Craig dozes off, feeling tired. He doesn't remember the dream he has, but does recall the sensation of something odd in his mouth. He doesn't know what it is, so he tries to push, or move his head away from it while dreaming. It doesn't seem to work, and instead grows stronger to the point where he's almost suffocating. He struggles to break free and gasp for air, but it only grips him stronger.
Grips?
It's only then do Craig's eyes open, waking him fully from his sleep. Nothing but utter shock and fear fills him when realizing that the reason he had felt like he was suffocating, was because Tweek was kissing him. His grip on his shoulders tight. Craig tries to speak in protest, but his tongue is being held down by Tweek's, so he struggles to push him away. It takes a lot of effort, but he manages to finally get Tweek off of him, throwing him to the ground.
"What are you doing!?" Craig gasps, using the back of his hand to wipe away a trail of saliva from his mouth as he stands, "Why were you kissing me?"
"Why can't I kiss you? What's wrong with that?" Tweek asks, no expression on his face.
"Wh-what?"
"I saw you kiss Kenny. So why can't I kiss you as well?" Tweek asks, slowly getting back up to his feet.
"Saw me?"
Before he can say another word, Tweek's eyes begin to glow and he faces the clubhouse wall. A video feed begins to play. Craig recognizes it instantly. It was from the night that he and Kenny went stargazing. The video is from the bushes, hidden among them as they're being watched.
"Tweek, did you follow me?" Craig asks, confused.
The video begins to play out the two of them making out and Craig's face begins to burn with embarrassment and humiliation at it being shown to him, and now knowing that they had been watched the whole time it happened.
"Stop," Craig says.
But there's no response.
" Stop i t!" he yells.
And the footage ends.
"Why… did you follow me?"
Tweek looks back over at him.
"I got curious when you checked your phone and had to leave so abruptly. You didn't tell me what was going on, so I wondered if it had been something bad, but…"
Craig thinks back on his reasoning for not telling Tweek where he was going that night, and wonders that if he had told him he was going to see Kenny that night, if things would've changed. Still though, even though he knew Tweek was an android, it still felt odd how he had been acting lately…
"Look, Tweek, you can't just…" he sighs, "you can't just kiss me, alright? Especially when I'm asleep."
"Why?"
"Because you just can't, alright?" Craig rubs his eyes, "Stuff like that is meant to be shared for someone special."
"Am I not special?"
"You are special," Craig replies, "just… in a different way."
"How so?"
"You're special because you're my friend. But Kenny is special because… I see him much differently than everyone else," Craig explains.
Tweek pauses, as if processing what he's saying.
"But, you're special to me."
Craig's eyes widen at that, but he returns to his normal expression when guessing that he most likely meant it like how he saw him. That had to be it… Right?
"Look, Tweek, just… don't do it again, okay?" Craig says. When there's no response he prompts it again, " Okay ?" Tweek gives a slow nod and Craig sighs again, "I think I'm going to head home early today, I feel tired after all that walking."
He needed to process this.
All of this.
He gives his farewell to Tweek and heads home for the remainder of the day.
