RAW is WAR: 20/10/1997
RAW is WAR was live at the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Marc Mero vs Brian Christopher match had passed, and up next was the Bladewolf vs Triple H, in response to the latest issues brewing between the Bladewolf and DX.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf played to a loud cheer from the fans as the lights switched to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out past the curtain, dressed in his black coat, hood up, metallic Predator-style mask over his demonic wolf one.
"The following contest is scheduled for one-fall! Introducing first, weighing 310 lbs... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
"He is a destructive, remorseless monster is that man, the Bladewolf." JR stated as the 7ft tall, 310 lb monster of a man makes his way down towards the ring with a more determined, meaningful pace rather than the slow walk he's occasionally made.
"And the Bladewolf is walking with intent, with purpose in his stride." Vince noted.
"Oh man, this is going to be a fighter, guys!" Jerry was excited as he rubbed his hands together. "The Bladewolf vs Triple H tonight for the first time ever!"
Vince nodded. "Indeed, we will be seeing that tonight, King. The Bladewolf has had issues with DX lately, starting back in September. Nobody knows what caused them, but I guess the Bladewolf was sick of the way Shawn Michaels and Triple H were running around. And we've seen the Bladewolf has no problem putting his hand on a woman when he laid his hands on Chyna."
Jerry gave him a 'duh' look. "You really think this man cares about being soft because a woman is in his way?"
"It doesn't matter if you are a man or woman, you step in his way you get hurt." JR said.
The Bladewolf makes it to the ring and climbs in over the top rope, taking off his coat first and dumping it to the outside. He then took off his metallic mask, revealing the wolf one underneath. He tossed the metallic mask outside the ring and stared up at the stage entrance as his theme dies down and the lights return to normal.
Triple H's theme then hit and out he came, accompanied by Chyna as always. "And his opponent, from Greenwich, Connecticut, weighing 260 pounds... TRIPLE H!"
"Triple H with a determined glare on his face. He is looking to settle the score with the Bladewolf tonight." JR said.
"That he is, JR." Vince nodded. "And we will see who comes out on top."
"But you guys gotta remember, the Bladewolf is undefeated." Jerry reminded.
Triple H jumps onto the ring apron and gets into the ring. But as soon as he did, the Bladewolf charges and attacks him!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Oh here we go!" Vince exclaimed as the bell is called and the match is underway. "The Bladewolf wasting little time!"
Bladewolf pounds away on Triple H, who covers himself up as the Demon Wolf brings forearm after forearm down onto the back of Triple H, followed by a right uppercut that knocks him into the corner. The Bladewolf corners Triple H there and begins unloading with a fury of rights and lefts.
"Look at the quickness!" JR said.
"Right, left, right, left, right, left." jerry said in sync with the punches as they were thrown.
The Bladewolf pauses, then delivers a big uppercut that makes the commentators wince as Triple H falls onto his backside. The Bladewolf doesn't let up as he begins to stomp away on Triple H's chest.
"The Bladewolf in firm control here, ladies and gentlemen." Vince said. "As he often is. No other athlete, save for Bret Hart, has managed to put up too big of a challenge against this man. Look at Tiger Ali Singh at SummerSlam."
"Oh yeah." Jerry nodded, wincing as the Bladewolf grabs Triple H by the hair and drives his right fist into his forehead hard.
"Look at Brian Christopher, look at Bob Holly at Badd Blood." Vince continued.
"How could we forget?" JR asked rhetorically.
The Bladewolf continues his assault, making the referee step in to try and call him off but the Bladewolf whirls on the referee who quickly scampers from the ring to avoid the wrath of the masked man. The Bladewolf glares at the referee for a moment while adjusting his right elbow pad. He then turns and runs, aiming for a body splash, but Triple H stops him with a kick to the midsection which barely fazes the Bladewolf.
But Triple H was not deterred in any way as he begins to fight back with a series of right fists to the masked face of the Bladewolf, who barely felt the punches as he head jerked to the right each time a punch was landed.
"Triple H fighting back now, but will it be enough?" Vince questioned. Triple H lands another punch, then a kick to the gut before attempting a DDT. "DDT-No." The Bladewolf had rammed Triple H into the corner.
"The Bladewolf has been impressive thus far, you have to admit." JR said. Triple H brings clubbing forearms down onto the Bladewolf's back as the man repeatedly drives his shoulder into his gut. "He is undefeated, has only been taken off his feet in one match and that was against Bret Hart at Ground Zero. But we can't forget that he has no mercy, no remorse in dishing out pain to his opponents."
"Just like what he's doing right now." Jerry said.
Bladewolf straightens up and lands a clubbing right to the jaw of hos opponent before Irish whipping him to the ropes and proceeds to floor him with a huge clothesline that got a reaction from the crowd and the commentators.
"What a clothesline!" Vince exclaimed.
"That's gonna leave a mark." Jerry said. The replays showed the clothesline, showing Triple H's head bouncing off the canvas when he went down. "Oh, man..."
The Bladewolf flips his hair back and looks around briefly while adjusting his right elbow pad. He bends down, grabs Triple H by the ahir, which causes the referee to warn him. Taking advantage, Triple H reaches up and drives his fingers into the eyeholes of the mask, forcing the Bladewolf to release him while checking his mask.
"Triple H with the fingers to the eyes." JR said. "That is sure to make any man back off."
Triple H gets to his feet, and does a running high knee into the back of the Bladewolf who stumbles forward, bounces off the ropes and comes straight back into another high knee from Triple H, who is quick to go for the cover.
"Now the cover!" Vince said.
"One-!"
The Bladewolf kicks out at one and sits right up to the shock of everyone, including Triple H, whose eyes went wide as the Bladewolf snaps his dark gaze to him.
"The Bladewolf just sat up!" JR reacted in shock.
"W-What? What was that?" Jerry couldn't figure out what he just saw.
"The Bladewolf-!" Vince stopped as the Bladewolf latches his hand around Triple H's throat. "Oh no!"
"The Bladewolf with Triple H by the throat!" JR exclaimed.
The Bladewolf got to his feet, still holding Triple H by the throat. Just as he went for a Chokeslam... CHYNA STRIKES HIM FROM BEHIND WITH A STEEL CHAIR!
"Oh no!" Jerry's eyes widened.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The referee calls for the bell to give Bladewolf the DQ win as the man in question whirls around to glare at Chyna who backs up a little before she goes for another chair shot... BUT GETS CAUGHT BY THE THROAT!
"Chyna's caught!" JR shouted.
But Vince spotted someone running down the ramp. "It's Shawn Michaels! Shawn Michaels!"
Shawn Michaels slides into the ring, measures the Bladewolf up as the man turns to notice him... ONLY TO GET STRUCK WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!
"OH!" The commentators reacted as the Bladewolf releases Chyan, stumbling around into a kick to the gut from Triple H, who hooks the arms and... NAILS THE PEDIGREE!
"Now the Pedigree!" JR exclaimed. The Bladewolf rolled onto his back, limp. "The Bladewolf is down! DX has laid out the Bladewolf!"
The crowd boos as Shawn helps Chyna and Triple H, the two men celebrating with crotch chops to the Bladewolf... WHO SUDDENLY SITS UP!
"Oh my God!" Jerry reacted.
"The Bladewolf sits up!" Vince added. DX hightails it from the ring in fear as the Bladewolf gets to his feet, watching his foes retreat with a dark look in his eyes as the camera zooms in close to his eyes.
"DX are wisely getting the hell out of dodge." JR said, and sees the look in the Bladewolf's eyes. "And the Bladewolf is not happy. Chyna interfering in his match, Shawn Michaels hitting Sweet Chin Music, and Triple H nailing the Pedigree. I got a feeling this is far, far from over."
"Oh yeah." Jerry nodded.
The current match was Champion vs Champion as WWF Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart takes on the WWF European Champion, Shawn says he will keep the Hart Foundation out of this if Shawn will keep DX out of this to find out who the best man really is. Rick Rude, Chyna, and Hunter Hearst Helmsley come out onto the ramp. Rude goes through his usual "What I'd like to have right now" spiel and introduces the ICON Shawn Michaels. When HBK comes out, he sends the rest of DX to the back.
Headlocks and shoulderblocks to start. Owen catches Shawn with a spinning heel kick and clotheslines him to the floor. Michaels makes him pay though by dropping him on the guardrail, throwing him into the steps, and then giving Owen a piledriver on the floor(!). Commercials. When we come back, Owen is in control and throwing Michaels around. Shawn escapes a sleeper though with a back suplex and grounds Owen with a chinlock. Owen breaks free and blasts Shawn with a catapult into the corner for two.
Next up, Owen misses a corner charge and runs his shoulder into the post. Michaels slams him down for the Flying Elbow Drop and connects. Time to tune up the band, but Owen sees it coming and blasts Shawn with the ENZIGURI KICK OF DEATH. Here comes Stone Cold Steve Austin jumping the rail and getting in the ring. Poor ref Jack Doan stands in between Austin and Owen and receives a STONE COLD STUNNER for a no-contest finish.
Shawn connects with SWEET CHIN MUSIC on Owen, but there's no ref obvs. Bret Hart runs down and punches the crap out of Shawn
Suddenly the crowd starts cheering AS THE BLADEWOLF STORMS TOWARDS THE RING!
"And here comes the Bladewolf!" JR shouted.
"Ahh!" Jerry reacted.
"He is coming for Shawn Michaels, you have to believe!" Vince was sure of it.
The Bladewolf slides into the ring and walks up to the brawling men, grabbing Bret and tossing the WWF Champion aside as he unloads on Shawn Michaels, who is not prepared for the enraged man's assault. This was payback from earlier when Shawn Michaels delivered Sweet Chin Music to him.
"Now the Bladewolf assaulting Michaels!" JR said.
Bret Hart walks up and pulls the Bladewol off, arguing with him... BUT THE BLADEWOLF GRABS HIM BY THE THROAT AND BEGINS TO CHOKE HIM! However, he soon saw DX arrive to pull Shawn out of the ring, and tosses Bret aside to leave in pursuit of DX.
It was backstage, inside a darkly lit room. The Undertaker was staring at the wall, a hand leaning against the wall.
"For over twenty years now, I've walked the face of the earth, covered by a dark cloud." His voice was sorrowful, showing a hint of vulnerability. "Carrying the grief of a family lost, and in one moment's time, one of the brothers that I had lost forever or so it seemed, is standing before me." He faced the camera, anger filling his eyes. "And as I looked into his eyes, I didn't see the love of a long-lost brother but the hatred of a man whose mind has been poisoned." His eyes watered with unshed tears as memories of a forgotten time came pouring back into the forefront of his mind.
"And, yes Paul, you can rest assured that I am living in hell. For when I looked into his eyes, I saw the demon, but however, you've poisoned his mind and whatever you've told him of his older brother. It doesn't matter, for I will never fight my own flesh and blood. I will never fight Kane." His eyes continued to stare into the camera, his vulnerable soul nearly being seen through his words. "And Paul, you say mine and Kane's brother, the youngest of us is still alive. However, I do not believe you. He was only a baby when the fire burned down our home, I tried to save him. Hoping to at least save a member of our family, but I could not. But if he is indeed alive, then I will make sure Paul, that you won't poison his mind with lies." The Undertaker growled before leaving the room.
And that's it for this chapter, ladies and gentlemen. Let me know what you think in the reviews. Yeah, this was just the first of MANY battles between the Bladewolf and Triple H, who will be one of Bladewolf's greatest rivals in WWE.
