A young boy, short black buzz cut, sat outside a door as an older man spoke with a woman. He didn't know what it was, all he knows is his mom, the woman speaking with the man, would be mad. He knew from what his teachers told him that he was special. His mother walked out and looked at him.

"Keep your mouth fucking shut, let's go." She angrily says, grabbing him by what hair he had and dragging him. Once home, she marches him, now by his wrist, down to his room in the basement and almost throws him in. "You so much as even touch that TV I'm gonna fucking gut you alive, do you understand that?" He nods. She slams the door.

"But they stated it." He mumbles and hours later, his mother opens the door.

"Get your dumb ass to the dining room, you can have some bread." She leaves and heads upstairs. He scratches his neck as he soon follows. The devil woman sets a stale piece of bread on a paper plate and practically slams it on the table before setting a nice plate of food for the red headed girl much younger than he.

"Thanks mom, the food looks yummy." She says, looking right at the boy as if mocking him.

"Why thank you Sarah, see what happens if you're a good kid like your little sister." The two girls eat and the boy looks at his plate, if one can call it that. "Eat your dinner." He gives them a glare before picking up the bread and taking a bit of it, dry.

"Can I get a glass of water?" He asks, and his mother slams her fork down on the plate.

"You think I'm gonna let you have water, with what you did? Hell no, now eat , or go back to your room." He just gets up, walks away back down into his room and after laying there, he passes out.

"Get in, get in." Naruto kicks the door of a small hut in, and is thankfully empty as he, Neji, Sasuke, and Shikamaru file in. They didn't find what was causing the gunfire, so it was probably just locals finding one of Yad Allah's stashes, either that or Yad Allah using them to scare the local population. But they had marched for a few hours when something they've only seen on those video's shown in science class, a huge sandstorm came rolling in from out of nowhere, and thankfully they weren't in it for long.

"This shit fucking sucks." Neji says as he tosses his SAW aside.

"Well I'm glad Naruto saw this building before it got too bad." Shikamaru adds as Sasuke looks around. He shoulders his M4 and takes a step behind a curtain and sees a trail of blood that leads to a door barely open. He whistles and grabs the others attention. They grab their guns and join him.

"I'll swing the door open, Shikamaru, if anyone is in there with a gun, do not hesitate." Sasuke orders, and Shikamaru grabs his Benillie M4 and gives a thumbs up. Sasuke opens the door and Shikamaru flows in and as Sasuke joins him, Shikamaru puts a fist up, telling them to hold. "Hold it guys."

"What's up?" Neji asks as in the room Shikamaru puts the shotgun down and takes a knee at the site before them. A young woman, who lay naked and motionless, a bullet wound in her head and bruises on her arms and neck, was laying only a few feet away from a little girl, who thankfully wasn't naked, sadly was also motionless. Both of them had cloudy eyes, but they stared back at them. Shikamaru grabbed a blanket that was not too far away and covered the woman's body.

"Ain't you going to check them?" Sasuke asked with a small shake in his voice.

"I don't have to touch them to know that rigor mortis has already set in." He answers softly.

"Seriously, the fuck is going on?" Naruto asks, unaware of the horror in the room.

"We got dead civies. A woman and a child, I assume the mother was trying to save her little girl."

"Damn it." Neji says under his breath. "Well now what?"

"We gotta stay here, we go no choice." Naruto answers. "Let's leave them be."

"Good idea." They return to the main room and wait out the storm.

A large young man sits in his room next to his bed with headphones on and plugged into an MP3 player playing a playlist of bands like Slipknot, Slayer, MegaDeth, and other hard rock and metal bands. He looks at his alarm clock and sees the time is past noon, so he gets up and grabs the set of keys next to it and heads up the stairs. He looks into the living room where a young girl and a boy her age and cuddling up, and she notices him.

"ED, what do you think you're doing?"

"Leaving."

"Like hell, you have to give Jimmy and I a ride to the…" He slams the door, cutting his little sister off. He unplugs the headphones and plugs the MP3 into a speaker in his old truck, Skeletons by Wednesday 13 plays as he drives to a recruitment center and he walks in.

"Good day sir, are you interested in joining the Army of Canada?"

"Yeah, but I have a question. Do you take people like me?"

"How so?"

"I have an illness. You see, sir, I'm retarded."

"Now who told you that?"

"My mother."

"Your mother doesn't sound too nice."

"No sir."

"Well, if you are old enough then we would love to atleast give you a shot, come with me young man." Ed and the recruiter walk into his office. Time has passed since that day and now, somewhere in Afghanistan, the nearly seven foot man sits on his bunk waiting for a sandstorm to pass so he and others can go on patrol.

"Hey man." A man about six feet, walks up with a bottle of water for him. "Have you heard anything about Eddy yet?"

"I was going to ask you that."

"Fuck… Ed, I think we need to be real here."

"I'm not giving up on him Edward."

"You're right. He's out there somewhere still kicking."

"Attention all units, Bravo-1 please head to the hangar bay at this time."

"The storm is weakening, come on Ed."

"Heard." He gets up and the two head out and maybe an hour later an armored patrol is on the move.

"Looks like the storm has died down, now what?" Sasuke asks.

"It's probably best if we stay here for the time being." Naruto answers. "Anybody got a map, or a gps?"

"I got a map." Sasuke says, reaching into his rucksack, he pulls out a map and hands it to Naruto, who sets it on the floor.

"Alright… how the fuck do I read this?" Sasuke rolls his eyes and walks over to him.

"Keep watch, I'll find where we are." Sasuke looks it over and grabs his radio. "This is Private First Class Sasuke Uchiha, United States Marine, myself and three other Marines are currently held up in a hut at roughly 36.692250 north, 66.734661 east. We will hold out here as long as we can, out."

"How very professional of you." Shikamaru jokes as he folds up the map.

"Probably should have told them we have little food." Neji adds, he looks into the cupboards, or what can only be described as such, and produces a small wrapped chunk of something. "The fuck is this?"

"Do you think any of us know?" Naruto answers and Neji shakes his head before opening it.

"Oh it's grapes. Anybody want cheap chocolate and Afghani grapes?"

"Fuck it, sure." Shikamaru takes some. The four were able to find some dried mutton, some kind of flatbread, and more grapes. "Whoever lived here must have been a good farmer."

"Probably why they killed them." They eat and go back to watching the outside and waiting for someone to answer.

"You know, if I had a nickel for everytime the four of us got stuck for at least 24 hours in bum fuck nowhere Afghan, I'd have two nickels, I know it isn't alot, but it's weird that it has happened twice." Naruto jokes as Sasuke taps Shikamaru's shoulder.

"Yo."

"Don't fuck with my scope, but look and tell me what you see." Sasuke hands Shikamaru his Mk14 and he looks through the scope.

"A convoy, maybe a patrol."

"Coming our way?" Neji asks as he walks to them."

"No… hold on, they stopped." Sasuke takes the rifle back and looks, that's when a chunk of the wall above the window is taken out, and the wall starts getting pelted.

"GET DOWN."

Ed and Edward walk on the left side of a humvee, a girl just their age was just in front of them.

"So Double D, what made you join up?" She asks.

"I saw Ed and Eddy's graduations, and felt so proud of them, which made me want to do the same." Edward answers

"Thanks pal."

"Don't ask, don't tell dorks." The man on the 50 says.

"Go fuck yourself Kevin."

"Come on guys, we're brothers and sisters in arms guys."

"Yeah dorks, Nazz is right, so shut it." Kevin says as Double D notices a glare off in the distance.

"Hey, what does a glare in the distance mean?" He asks.

"Shit, they got a sniper." Kevin shouts and whips the gun around at the hut off in the distance.

"The ROE says not to fire unless fired upon Kevin." Edward shouts as he starts shooting.

"DIE RAGHEADED FUCKS… DIE."

The four dive down and cover their heads.

"THAT'S A FUCKING DUCE, WHO THE FUCK IS SHOOTING AT US?" Neji yells.

"HAS TO BE THAT FUCKING CONVOY, THOUGHT I SAW ONE OF THE GUNNERS TURN JUST BEFORE THE SHOOTING STARTED." Sasuke answers.

"STOP FUCKING SHOOTING, WE'RE IN THAT FUCKING HUT." Naruto angrily screams into his radio.

"Who is this?"

"Private First Class Naruto Uzumaki, USMC?"

"Oh okay, one second." The shooting stops and they lay still, waiting for what will happen next. "Hey, we're still getting a group of guys to come get you guys. So we have no idea who's shooting at you."

"Oh of course."

"Is everyone good?" Shikamaru asks.

"I don't got any new holes." Neji answers.

"I ain't leaking." Sasuke adds.

"Fucking peachy." Naruto mumbles

"Who the fuck started shooting?" And older gentlemen asked the soldiers in or next to the humvee.

"I swear I heard a shot go past my head sir."

"Well go fucking check, and you better pray that they're insurgents." The humvee pulls off at heads to the hut.

"We did not get shot at."

"How do you know double dork, do you know what it's like to get shot at?"

"No."

"Then shut it. Go check it."

"What?"

"You guys are on the ground."

"Let's just go Double D." Ed says as they, a long with Nazz and two others make their way to the door of the hut.

Naruto and Neji grab their M16A4 and M249 SAW respectively and head to cover, the former holding an angle on the entrance via the door that led to the dead civs they found earlier, Neji would set up behind the counter of the kitchen, setting up the bipod of the SAW. Sasuke lays on his back and peeks out from behind a couch, Shikamaru grabs his shotgun and presses against the wall a few feet away from the door.

"I'll set it off unless they start shooting at you guys." Shikamaru whispers, and they nod or give a thumbs up. Shikamaru hears some knocking from what sounded like Kevlar. The door swings open.

"Go." A voice speaking English says and a man about their height, but smaller build, walks in. Pale, probably about their age, with a FN FAL in hand, he turns to his left, away from Shikamaru. He looks and notices the others ducked behind the cover they had hid behind, waiting for him to fire a shell.

"Looks cle…" He turns to she Shikamaru with the Benelli M4 pointed at his face.

"Hello, who the fuck are you?" As on que, Naruto, Neji, and Sasuke pop out of hiding and he tosses his gun to the side and puts his hands up. They walk up and Naruto grabs him and brings him to the couch as Shikamaru closes the door.

"Please don't kill me. I…I'm just a kid, I skipped out on going to university to serve with my two best friends, please I'm begging you."

"Where are you from, kid?" Sasuke asks.

"It's a small little town, called Peach Creek, just east of Vancouver. Wait, you guys ain't terrorist."

"No, we're Marines. What are you doing out here by yourself?"

"I'm not by myself." He points at the door, but sees it's closed.

"If you had pals, they would have come in with you." Sasuke says.

"Care to explain why a Canadian was shooting at us."

"I saw the glint of a scope and Kevin started to open fire."

"So y'all saw my scope, and didn't wait to see if I was gonna start shooting?"

"I tried to tell him."

"That's all fine and dandy… but who the fuck is Kevin?" Neji asks, and everyone turns to him.

"He has a point." Shikamaru adds.

"He was someone who was a bully back in school."

"Isn't that swell, welp let's go find your people." Naruto grabs his gear and he hands the man his FAL.

"By the way, you never told us, who are you again?" Shikamaru asks, opening the door back up to see a group of four guys and a lady as well.

"Double D, you're alive." A towering man runs forward and hugs him.

"No thanks to you guys, the hell were you fucking Moran's doing?"

"I was relaying a message from command." The man with a backwards ballcap says. "Names Kevin Lewis, Canadian Army."

"Naruto Uzumaki, USMC, so you're the broken condom that shot at us."

"Excuse me?"

"Your guy, that you left for dead by the way, said you shot at us with the 50."

"Well someone's full of shit." Kevin turns back to the rest of the patrol.

"Now what?" Ed asks.

"We continue our patrol." The officer answers.

"We got four Marines, what do you mean to continue?"

"We keep on going."

"What the hell?" Neji asks as everyone heads back.

"Looks like we don't have much of a choice." Naruto answers and they head to the armor column. Time passes, and the four have yet to get a seat in one of the humvees. A girl with blonde hair was offered a seat, two guys were offered a seat, but the guy they chatted with, and the big man, was not offered a seat. And Kevin was always in the vehicle at all times.

"So who are you guys by the way?" Sasuke asks.

"He's Ed, I'm Edward, or Edd for short, but he and our other friends call me Double D as you guys heard."

"How many guys named Ed do you know?" Shikamaru asks.

"There's one more, his name is Eddy, or was."

"Did he go MIA, last name Vera?" Naruto asks.

"Yeah… wait how did you know?"

"He's safe, we found him. He was a POW but I got him out and he's probably back at our base right now."

"Shit you for real?" Edward asks.

"Stop talking, nobody gives a shit." Kevin says from the 50. They continue to walk and they stop so they may turn around.

"Is anybody gonna let us take a seat? If not us, then at least the gunners" Naruto asks, noticing both Ed and Neji struggling a bit with their LMGs.

"No." Kevin laughs.

"Listen, you're the ones who are tagging with us, we make the rules not…" The officer says before a round strikes him in the neck from somewhere to the left. Everybody drops down, but the four Marines open fire, and Insurgents start rushing them.

"HOW MANY OF US A FIRING BACK?" Sasuke asks, he has to reload, so as he drops the mag from his M4, he looks back and nobody is doing shit. "GET OFF YOUR USELESS ASSES AND FUCKING FIGHT."

"I'm going to grab the guy and see if I can patch him up, cover me." Shikamaru says as he heads to the front and grabs him, and drags him to the other side of the humvee. Double D joins him. "Help me sit him upright." They lean him against the side of the vehicle. He grabs his trauma kit and pulls out wads of cotton gauze and stuffs some into the hole.

"Why not try to remove the bullet?" Double D asks.

"It's too close to the jugular, way too close for someone with little field surgery experience. Help me get him loaded up." Double D opens the back door, and they lift him up and into the humvee. Shikamaru runs to the driver door and sees the soldier leaning against the wheel and the door. He doesn't think twice and drags the dead driver out and he waves for Double D. "Get over here." He shoots back at the assaulting forces. "Get in and drive… you hear me?" He turns and Double D is staring at the body next to them, he grabs his shoulder and shakes him. "Listen to me, you gotta focus, get in the fucking humvee and drive, got it." He nods his head and hops in.

"ED COME ON, WE GOTTA GET THE GENERAL OUT OF HERE."

"Coming."

"WHERE THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING MANO DORK." Kevin yells as Ed climbs in and gets on the 50.

"Shikamaru go with them." Naruto orders as he returns to them.

"What about you guys?"

"We'll be good, you're the guy who gave him medical, plus you get to get out of dodge." Sasuke answers.

"Yeah but…"

"JUST FUCKING GO MAN." Naruto yells and so he joins the two Eds and they peel off.

"What rank is that guy, is he your sergeant or something?" Double D asks.

"We're both privates." Back at the fight, an Insurgent loads an RPG and points it at the column, but Sasuke hits him right on the forehead with a shot from his MK14 EBR.

"We gotta fucking move." Sasuke says as he ducks down to avoid getting shot. Neji pops up and starts spraying lead to keep heads down or take them off.

"The gun is down." One of the Canadians yells out before slumping down.

"Only one M2 left, and we got injured."

"Last mag." Neji ducks down to reload and Sasuke pops back up.

"I hear you guys. HEY LADY, yeah you, come here." She comes over and ducks down.

"Yeah?"

"What's your name?"

"Nazz."

"Nice to meet you Nazz, now drive this fucking thing."

"I can't, I'm too short to reach the pedals."

"Fuck, Neji you drive, give him directions to your base got it." She nods and they climb in. "HURRY UP, WE ARE GETTING THE FUCK OUT OF HERE." Sasuke climbs in and returns fire as Naruto takes up the Browning.

"HIT IT." Sasuke shouts as Neji slams the pedal and they do a short burn out before speeding away, with the other humvee shortly behind them. Thankfully Nazz gives them detailed directions and within a couple of hours they find themselves at their base.

"Good job lady, ever thought of being a passenger for rally racing?" Neji jokes as they grab their gear.

"I can't say I have, but thanks. You seemed a little too comfortable driving really fast."

"I plead the fifth." Naruto laughs as Kevin comes up and grabs him.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing huh?"

"Getting our asses out of dodge. That's a weird way of saying thanks."

"The hell you are, you're trying to show me up."

"The fuck, look I don't give a rats ass about your ego twinkle dick." Naruto responds to Kevin's ego being nuked. Kevin huffs and shoves Naruto, so he responds by headbutting him in the face, he falls over as a high ranking officer marches over.

"LEWIS."

"He head butted me sir."

"You fucking started it retard." Sasuke responds.

"He's only saying that cause…"

"That's what happend, I saw the whole thing, head to debrief Lieutenant." He gets up and storms off. "I'm sorry mister Uzumaki."

"How do you know my name?"

"When the General came back, you fellow devil dog told us what was going on, they never told us about finding you, that was a part of what we sent them on patrol for, we've got a hold of your superiors, oddly enough they said they had someone for us, so they'll pick you up when he is dropped off, please, get some chow, make yourselves at home."

"Thank you sir." They give him a quick salut and start to walk around trying to find the mess hall.

"Where'd you get that antic from?" Some random guy takes a jab at the fact Naruto has a rifle from the 90's.

"From your grandad's will. Sorry pal." He jabs back as they find their way to the hall."

"There you fuckers are." Shikamaru shouts at them as they walk in. Get some grub and let's talk boys." They get food and sit down a ways away from everybody else, who gives them looks because they are in combat fatigues and carrying their weapon systems.

"Reminds me of school." Naruto says between bites.

"Who gives a shit dude, all that matters is we're still kicking right?" Neji responds.

"Oh I don't care, just saying this isn't the first time I've had people stare at me while I eat." As he says this, both Ed and Edward join them.

"Gentlemen." Double D says with a smile.

"Hey guys." Ed adds, with a bigger grin.

"This is new."

"Come again?"

"Don't worry about it. So, what y'all want?" Sasuke asks.

"I want to start off by saying thanks. We all kinda froze up when the general got hit."

"No problem."

"How's Eddy?" Ed interrupts.

"I don't know, we found him yesterday, and we've been stuck out here ever since."

"Oh… sorry."

"Why are you apologizing, he's your friend, it's okay to be worried sick about him." Shikamaru says.

"He's right Ed, if you and Eddy switched places, I'm sure he would be worried about you too." Double D adds.

"Yeah, We're friends, all of us."

"That's a cliche if I have ever seen one." Neji says under his breath.

"Well I don't know about that." Sasuke adds, giving Neji a weird look.

"No, you guys are our friends, that has to be why we found you guys, and why you helped Eddy."

"Naruto only helped him cause it was the right thing to do." Shikamaru responds.

"Ah fuck it, sure we're pals." Naruto says as he puts his hand out and he, Ed, and Double D shake hands. The other three look at one another and Sasuke shrugs his shoulders and follows suit. The six men chat about life prior to their enlistment. Before they knew it, a helo is heard up above and they run out to see a Huey with MARINES on the tail.

"Looks like our ride." Sasuke says as they grab their gear and head to the helipad as he touches down and a short figure hops off.

"Hello again." Eddy says as he shakes Naruto's hand.

"How are you?"

"Doc said to keep it light for a week or two, but after that I can start slowly getting back into operations."

"Good to hear." Sasuke says as the rest shake hands.

"EDDY." Ed and Double D says together and they quickly run up and the three hug. This brings a small smile on all four of their faces.

"Welp, best we get going, stay safe guys." Naruto says and he nods before they climb in.

"See you boys around." Neji adds. They give a nod of respect as they leave and back to base they go, hoping this time they don't get sent out on short notice.
