Summary: Engineer decided that if Spy were a romantic person, he'd be romantic too, but in a humorous way.

It was quite a sunny day in Teufort. Nothing was out of the ordinary, just the usual turning each other into giblets that splattered across the wooden floors and ground.

The RED team was winning as usual. Medic was prepared to deploy an Übercharge and laughing maniacally as Heavy turned every BLU around him into bits of body parts.

Engineer stood next to his dispenser, waiting for the duo to get out of his line of sight. Those two are overwhelmingly... in love? Is that the right word for it? They do seem to like each other a lot, even sharing occasional kisses during battle but it's "uncertain" if they were official yet.

Medic ran after Heavy past the bridge to the other side, disappearing into the building while bodies trail behind and soon in front of them. Engineer sighed, relieved to see the two gone.

Next to the dispenser was Scout, or at least that's who everyone thinks he is. The BLU Spy unmasked from his disguise and leaned both of his arms on the top of the dispenser, looking down over the other side where his lover was.

Engineer felt his partner's hand trailing lazily down the back side of his neck, which made the hairs there stand up. He's always been sensitive there, and Spy always takes advantage of it when the moment offers. Engineer bites his tongue, hoping Spy will stop. He's more embarrassed than he is aroused.

"Could you please not do that right now? We're at war, in the middle of it." Dell said, slapping the Spy's hand away, his face wearing a frown.

Spy was slightly amused at his annoyance, huffing a chuckle as he leaned away from the dispenser and made his way over to the Engineer's side.

No one has approached the dispenser yet, but certainly no one was getting healed or calling for Medic. The duo mowed down everyone and everything in their way as they passed without noticing the BLU Spy next to their Engineer.

They have been standing around for most of the battle's time. Sometimes BLU Soldier would rocket jump past them, and was about to shoot at Engineer and his dispenser, only then to notice his own Spy standing next to him. BLU Soldier immediately backed away. It wasn't like he was afraid of the Frenchman, but because he was standing there and Engineer not attacking him meant something.

"You know, labourer, I've realised that you say, 'yee haw' quite a lot." Spy was rolling the word off his tongue to see if it would fit his vocabulary. It certainly didn't as he was quite the refined gentleman.

"Heh, "yee haw" it's sorta like an expression. It's like to say "yes" or agree to something." Engineer said with a chuckle.

Spy nodded to that statement. It seemed a ridiculous thing to say, but he supposed that was a normal thing for the engineer. Spy chuckled to himself, unable to believe that he was about to say such a stupid thing to his lover.

"Labourer." Spy began, and Engineer stopped his whacking of his newly built teleporter and looked at Spy. The teleporter, without the help of Engineer, began building itself slowly and steadily.

Spy shuffled his weight from foot to foot, butterflies fluttering in his stomach and threatened to burst out at any moment because of the stupidity he was about to partake in.

Engineer waited patiently for an answer, staring up at his partner ever so slightly under the black tinted goggles. He smiled and huffed out a silent laugh. He's never seen Spy flustered much, so it was quite the rare and adorable sight.

Spy mumbled, but Engineer didn't quite catch what it was that he said. Engineer cocked his head to one side, lower jaw jutting out in confusion. The gunshots continued in the background as Dell continued to stare down at his partner. Though he wasn't sure "staring down" would be the correct term considering their height differences.

"You know how people would tell their lover that they were the Romeo to their Juliet, Dell?" Spy said, trying to start slow to reel Engineer in.

Dell nodded, confused but a tad intrigued by what Spy was about to blurt out.

"... You're the yee to my haw." Spy said, covering his face in embarrassment. Engineer smiled and burst out laughing at the way Spy tried to woo him.

The wooing was cut short when a bullet went straight through Engineer's head, and he dropped dead on the floor. The dispenser beside him was not quick enough to heal him, and he was taken by Respawn moments later.

Spy jumped and retreated a step. Looking in the direction from which the bullet came, and standing there was the BLU Sniper. He waved and smiled, from what Spy could see.

The spy scoffed, throwing his cigarette to the ground and stomping on it. He cloaked and retreated back to his perspective base.

...

Damn, he didn't even get to give his lover a kiss before he was taken away by Respawn. Maybe he'll apologize properly for it in ceasefire.

AN: Hello everyone! It's me again, your not so humble fanfiction writer. Anyways, sorry for the late update on the story.

I'm very unmotivated because I'm new to writing fanfics. If anything, I would appreciate it if any of you could give me requests to work on. Thinking of new ideas to write and being able to articulate them is a pain in the ass.

Thank you again for reading and apologies for the late update. This story did not have so much effort put into it. Sorry again, thank you for reading and sticking with me.
