Miraculous: Rise of the Dark Moth
Chapter 4: Rise of the Dark Moth
Synopsis: Dark Mills was unleashed after separating from his doppelgänger, and is now after Hawk Moth and Mayura to get their Miraculouses by using the power of the Phantom Ruby. However, Dark Mills plans to make it into an unfair fight.
The next day, everyone was going to the high school as Marinette comes by the entrance as Alya Césaire was waiting for her best friend forever to come. "There you are, BFF." Alya Césaire said grabbing Marinette by the arm. "Where were you? Ladybug and Cat Noir came to help our Student Body President who got akumatized by Hawk Moth." Alya asked to Marinette.
"Well, I was hiding from those villains who were made because of Chloé, so they wouldn't see me." Marinette said. "Well, you must've been a lucky one to not get caught, bestie. But aside from that, I know you're Ladybug." Alya said whispering in her best friend's ear, surprising Marinette. "How'd you know?" Marinette asked to Alya. "P.J. kind of told me everything but told me to keep it secret. I can't even post it on my Ladyblog." She said.
"Really? That's a shame. But we all know why heroes keep their identities a secret for a reason. To keep those close to them safe." Marinette said. "Right. Next thing our Student Body President will tell me that Adrien is Cat Noir. That's crazy, right?" Alya asked, making Marinette become wide-eyes. "Yeah. Totally crazy." Marinette stated with a nervous chuckle as they went in the courtyard.
"Where's P.J.? Is he okay?" Rose asked to Marinette. "He's back at his big Treehouse, recovering since he's been akumatized. I heard it all from Lila." Marinette said. "You're kidding, right? He has a big treehouse and Lila told you that?" Alix asked. "Marinette's telling the truth." Adrien said. "It looked like him being akumatized was a bit too much for him. It even brought out a side of him we never seen before. The opposite of a good kid." He explained.
"Wait. You're saying P.J. had a dark side of him possessing him since he's been akumatized? Uh-uh! That's insane." Nino said. "Insane or not, we should all give him a get well card." Alya said to Nino. "Even so, I'll be 75% positive that P.J. will bounce back." Max said.
"No need." P.J. said as he came to the courtyard as he floated down using his rocket boots. "P.J.! You okay? Do you remember what happened?" Marinette asked. "Yeah. I'm okay. Even though most of Hawk Moth's victims don't remember being akumatized, I won't. Got a photographic memory in my head." He said.
"We're just glad you're okay." Rose said. "Maybe you would like to show us your big Treehouse?" Alix asked. "Yeah, but right after school guys. Let's get to class. Don't want to keep Miss Mendelev waiting. She's not a big fan of nonsense." P.J. told everyone. He looks up to see Dark Mills watching him on the roof.
"Something wrong, P.J.?" Juleka asked to P.J.. "Well Juleka, I..." P.J. said as he turned to her and back to see Dark Mills was gone. "Nothing. Nothing's wrong." He said as they went into class. "Dupain-Cheng, there you are." Chloé Bourgeois spoke to Marinette as she and Sabrina came to her. "What do you want, Chloé?" Marinette asked rolling her eyes.
"After what happened yesterday, I took a lot of time to think about my actions, and I want to say I... I..." Chloe spoke to Marinette's confusion. "What is it?" Marinette asked. "I'm sorry and I want to speak with you at your house!" Chloe shouted as she ran off. "What just happened?" Adrien asked. "I don't glow… I mean, I don't blow… I mean, I don't know..." Marinette stuttered near Adrien.
Cue Miraculous transition.
"Hawk Moth is going to be in for a big surprise, Lady Wifi." Dark Mills said as he was outside of the Agreste Mansion holding what appears to be the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir which he copied from his fight with them. "Really? What surprise, Big Boss?" She asked. "The big... surprise." He said gritting his teeth having his finger gestured like it was a knife. That was a reference from All Dogs Go to Heaven. "Oh, you mean… *that* surprise to put Hawk Moo out of his mis—"
"No spoilers!" Dark Mills said grabbing Lady Wifi pulling her close. "We're going to ambush Hawk Moo, take both his Miraculouses, so I can make a villain empire, so we villains can get what we want, a victory that we richly deserve! The Hawk Moth must be punished because we're going to destroy everything he holds dear and make him watch. He'll be completely destroyed!" Dark Mills shouted.
"What about Hawk Moth?" Nathalie Sancouer asked as Dark Mills and Lady Wifi see her. "What good timing. Nathalie Sancouer, Hawk Moo's sickly little bird, his second in command, the weakened Mayura." Dark Mills smiled evilly as Nathalie gasped that he knows her identity."How do you know me? Who are you?" She asked. "A friend of Hawk Moth, aka Mr. Agreste. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Miss Mayura." Dark Mills said. "I acquire your assistance in bringing Hawk Moth down for good. He's too obsessed with Ladybug and the Miraculous to even save Emilie and you. He's insane, because he caused a poor, unfortunate soul to unleash the devil inside of him."
This shocked Nathalie that she had encountered the one who knows who she and Hawk Moth really are. "Help me, and I will heal you of your ailments that the Peacock Miraculous befallen upon you. You'll even be free of him. You should feel privileged." Dark Mills smirked.
"No! There's no way I'm helping you to get back at Gabriel. I'll never help you!" Nathalie refused. "You don't have a choice." Dark Mills said. She was about to run away until Lady Wifi paused her, and he blasted her with a Hypno Ray. "Mayura, will you help me take down Hawk Moo?" Dark Mills asked. "Yes, Master. The Hawk Moth must fall." Nathalie said hypnotized as Dark Mills chuckled sinisterly. "Time for our battle, Hawk Moo." Dark Mills said as Lady Wifi joined in the evil laugh. "It only works when I do it." Dark Mills sneered with his red glowing eyes. "Okay. Love ya." Lady Wifi said nervously.

At the Agreste Mansion, Gabriel Agreste tries to book a flight for him and his son to leave Paris because Dark Mills is after him since he lost to Ladybug and Cat Noir, but no matter how he tried. He couldn't get a flight, to his frustration.
The hypnotized Nathalie Sancouer presses the button at the gate. "Who's bothering me at this hour?" Gabriel asked as he checked his surveillance system to see who it is. "Nathalie? What are you doing here?" He asked in surprise. "Sir, someone urgently wishes to see you." Nathalie spoke hypnotized as Dark Mills comes with Nathalie.
"Dark Mills?! I have no business with you, demon child. Begone!" Gabriel said frowning. "Really? Well, okay. I might as well give the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir back to them." Dark Mills spoke to Gabriel's realization. "You have them? How did you?! Never mind. Come inside." He said as the gates start to open. Dark Mills and Nathalie come in as he starts to smile evilly.
He comes in the foyer as Gabriel Agreste approaches. "Nathalie, you can leave us." He said. "Yes sir. I will check on Adrien for his next photo shoot." Nathalie spoke as she went into Adrien's room. "Do you have them?" He asked. "I just said I got them, didn't I?" Dark Mills asked showing him the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir in his hand.
"I don't understand. How did you get them?" Gabriel asked. "I don't time to explain that to you, Mr. Hawk Moth. Now, shall we get your wife out of her comatose state?" Dark Mills asked. "How did you know about? Never mind. Let's get this over with. After that, I want you never to poke your nose in my business." Gabriel said as he leads him to the repository under the mansion. "I make no promises, Hawk Moo." He said.
Adrien was sighing as he was having his piano lessons as Nathalie comes in. "Come Adrien. You have another photo shoot to attend." She spoke. "So soon?" Adrien asked. "Yes. Come along. It'll be quick." She said.
On the way to the repository, Nooroo comes out and notices Dark Mills with the scar on his face that Cat Noir gave him. He sees Nooroo and starts to chuckling evilly as he made a "finger-knife" gesture. "Uh, Master..." Nooroo spoke. "Be silent, Nooroo. I'm about to have my wish come true." Gabriel said. "Same goes for mine." Dark Mills said quietly as they made it to Emilie's coffin.
"Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir, with all your power, I wish to save the love of life from her comatose state!" Gabriel shouted out loud. There was a short pause as he looks at the two Miraculouses in his hand. "What's going on?"
"Now!" Dark Mills shouted as he activated the Phantom Ruby to summon multiple villains that Gabriel Agreste as Hawk Moth had akumatized and surrounded him and the Miraculous of Ladybug and Cat Noir get taken. "You! What have you done?!" Gabriel growled. "I'm afraid your wish has been denied. Prepare to lose your title as Hawk Moth, Mr. Agreste." Dark Mills said.
"We'll see about that." Gabriel said. "Nooroo, Dark Wings Rise!" He shouted having Nooroo warp inside of his Butterfly Miraculous and he transforms into Hawk Moth. "My friends, attack the one who has brought you here." He commanded to the villains but there was no response. "What's happening?"
"Oh, sorry about that. These guys work for me now as I used the Phantom Ruby's power to bring them here." Dark Mills said bringing out the Phantom Ruby. "And they're sick of being bossed around by you. Get him!" He shouts as they attack Hawk Moth as he brings a sword out of his cane.
As much as he fought back, the villains were outnumbering Hawk Moth, but he manage to fight back. All of a sudden, Nathalie Sancouer comes out of her trance. "What on Earth happened to me?" She asked as she was in the limo with Adrien. "Drop Adrien off at the school and turn us back to the mansion." She said to the Gorilla, Adrien's bodyguard as Adrien was dropped off to school. "Hey guys. What's going on?" Adrien asked as he sees everyone leaving. "We're going to P.J.'s sick tree house, dude. C'mon." Nino said. "This P.J.'s got a treehouse, huh? I wonder if he's got any camembert there?" Plagg asked peeking out as Adrien shushed him.
Hawk Moth continues fighting, but he was getting tired as he was then grabbed by Gigantitan's grasp as Dark Mills smiles. "How the mighty have fallen. Good job, Gigantitan. I see a BIG lollipop in your future." He said to Gigantitan as they turned to see Nathalie quickly used Duusu to transform into Mayura. "Look who's here, Mayura slash Nathalie Sancouer." He said. "Nathalie, stay back!" Hawk Moth shouted. "I'm not leaving you or Emilie!" She shouted as she was about to use her peacock fan, until Stoneheart knocks her out.
"No!" Hawk Moth shouted as he gets out of Gigantitan's hands and prepares to strike Dark Mills until he knocks him out too. "Sorry Hawk Moo. It's time for a new Hawk Moth to rise. The Rise of a Dark Moth." He said chuckling evilly as his sunglasses began to gleam at an eerie red.
Cue Miraculous transition.

Everyone from the school, Alya Césaire, Nino Lahiffe, Rose, Juleka, Le Chien Kim, Max Kante, Adrien Agreste, Chloé Bourgeois, Sabrina Raincomprix, and Marinette Dupain-Cheng enter P.J.'s Treehouse and they are quite impressed by the interior of it. "Whoa! Dude, this is your treehouse?" Kim asked. "Yep." P.J. replied. "I didn't think it would be possible you made all this yourself." Max stated.
"Dude, this treehouse is enough to put others to shame." Nino stated. "It reminds me of my childhood KND days." P.J. said to Nino. "KND? What's that?" Alya asked. "Codenamed: Kids Next Door, an organization of kids under the age of 13 who fight against adult tyranny like forcing kids to brush before bed, forcing them to eat veggies and yucky food." P.J. explained.
"Typical for kids to act that way. Still, there's nothing bad with eating vegetables now and then and brushing your teeth." Max said from his point of view. "That's what they want you think, Maximillian!" P.J. shouted coming close to Max. "Sorry, but it's true. You can't go wrong without having veggies in your systems." Max said. "Max is right. Vegetables can help your systems, you know." Marinette said.
"The veggies I eat are only fruits. I'm well aware of the food pyramid consisting of bread and grains, fruits, vegetables, cheese, meat, and fats and sweets. Especially after I seen the events of the island of Moptop." P.J. said. "Moptop?" Sabrina asked. "Yeah, Moptop. It's a childhood pc game thing. It's a long story." P.J. said mentioning the island where the events of Pajama Sam 3 occurred. "I bet it is." Chloé stated turning away.
"That aside, Max, your voice sounded like a two friends of mine. One of them who I idolized." P.J. said to Max since his voice actor, Ben Diskin had voiced Numbuh One and Two of the Kids Next Door in the past. "Your friend? Who was he?" Max asked. "He was Numbuh One." P.J. said as Adrien walked around the Mansion. "Don't you mean, NumBER One?" Max corrected. "No. NumBUH One." P.J. said as Adrien goes into the elevator.
He then sees Inky the Panda Bear kwami having a rest, as Plagg comes out. "Whoa. The kid's got his own Miraculous and kwami. He must've been studying us to make these things." Plagg said as Inky woke up. "Hey! For your information, I'm not a thing!" Inky shouted surprising Plagg and Adrien. "Wait a sec… You guys… You're Cat Noir, aren't you?" Inky asked as he saw Adrien's eye color of green. "Uh, yeah. It's nice to meet you, uh..." Adrien spoke. "Inky. Call me Inky. I was just sleeping after eating some bamboo." He said. "Typical for pandas to eat that stuff." Plagg said. "Thank you guys for helping save P.J. from Hawk Moo." Inky said to the two. "Hawk Moo?" Plagg snickered. "Sure, no problem." Adrien said.
"Look, he's right behind ya!" Plagg shouted pointing at Inky. He turns around and shrieks, hiding. "Stay where you—" Adrien said until he frowned at Plagg as he tried to calm Inky down. "What're you looking at me for? I didn't mean to scare him. I swear!" Plagg said in his defense.
Back in the central room of the Treehouse, P.J. takes off his Numbuh One sunglasses. "These sunglasses were a gift from an old friend. He left for the Galactic KND, and made me his successor for Sector V. Until things changed as I grew up." He said. "Whoa…" Juleka said. "How old are you?" Rose asked. "22 years old. Now I'm part of the Teens Next Door. People who haven't forgotten their years of being in the KND." P.J. replied to Rose. "That's awesome." Alix Kubdel stated. "I just hope I can find my friend out there to see him proud of me." P.J. said as Chloé swipes his sunglasses.
"C'mon, you can't really think after you did will make him any proud of you." Chloé taunted. "Chloé, give them back!" P.J. demanded as everyone stared. "Or what?" She asked. "He said give them back, Chloé!" Adrien shouted as she turns to him angry. "You don't want him to be akumatized, do you?" Marinette asked as everyone glared to Chloé, like they had in her nightmare. "No. Of course not." Chloé said giving back the sunglasses to P.J.
"Thank you. But understand this, CB, don't you DARE take the name of Kids Next Door in vain, or touch my shades again." P.J. said as the alarm started to blare. "What's that?" Alya asked. "Something's on the communication system! Some kind of message is being relayed!" P.J. shouted as he turns on the supercomputer screen.
"Hello Paris! Perk up your ears and listen really carefully! My name is Dark P.J. Mills and I'm here to do what Ladybug and Cat Noir can't. Defeating Hawk Moth, which I already did." Dark Mills spoke as he was on every television screen to everyone's shock. Even Marinette and Adrien.
"I hope you're watching this, Ladybug and Cat Noir! This one's for you!" He chuckled as Felix Fathom, Adrien's cousin was starting to smile. "Wonder how this new guy put Uncle Hawk Moth in his place." He wondered.
"Live from Paris, France, the show that nobody wants to see, but everyone will watch. The Unmasking of Villains." Dark Mills said as Lady Wifi was recording him as Horrificator trapped Hawk Moth and Mayura in her slime. "Here we have, Hawk Moth and Mayura, the masterminds who had been making you akumatized to tear your beloved city apart. Now, the time has come to show you who they really are." Dark Mills as he approached Hawk Moth who glares.
"Are you ready to be unmasked, Hawk Moo? Before we do, the name "Agreste" ring a bell?" Dark Mills taunted. "You ungrateful brat! You think you can deceive me and get away with it?" Hawk Moth growled as Dark Mills began to curl his fists as he began to punch him. "CAN'T. YOU. JUST. PLAY. ALONG?!" Dark Mills shouted beating him to Mayura's horror. "Big Boss, do the unmasking." Lady Wifi reminding Dark Mills to stop beating Hawk Moth to a pulp. He then reaches for the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculouses of Hawk Moth and Mayura, grabbing them.
"No!" Hawk Moth shouted as Dark Mills pulled them away, making them reveal their identities, Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancouer to everyone's shock, even Adrien's.
"There you have it. Hawk Moth and Mayura are none other than Mr. Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancouer, the ones close to Adrien Agreste." Dark Mills said on live TV. "Dad?" Adrien asked in shock. "I can't believe it." Marinette said in shock.
"All this time, instead of spending time with his own son, Adrien, Gabriel had been using his Miraculous to cause trouble for all of Paris and used you to try and take Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous for his evil purposes." Dark Mills said. "But if here's one thing Adrien must know about him the most..." He said. "No, Dark Mills! Stop!" Gabriel pleaded. "He wanted to use the Miraculous to bring back his poor, sleeping wife, his dear Mum, Emilie Agreste!" Dark Mills smiled. "Stop it!" Gabriel shouted.
"Now you see, Adrien, if you are watching this, he's been sneaking around as Hawk Moth when he should've spent time with you like a good daddy, instead, your father is nothing but a selfish villain, and a bad parent, even abusing someone named Nooroo against his will." Dark Mills said. "By this time tomorrow, Hawk Moo will be no more. So, Ladybug and Cat Noir, be prepared." Dark Mills said smiling evilly as Lady Wifi stops recording.
"Adrien's dad was Hawk Moth all along?" Chloé asked in shock. "Dad? How could you have kept this from me?" Adrien asked in shock as Marinette comforts him. "But who was that kid just now?" Nino asked. "He looked just like P.J." Kim stated. "That was Dark Mills. My shadow. The evil within me." P.J. explained. "What? The evil inside you?" Mylene asked. "How is that even possible?" Ivan asked.
"Because of Hawk Moth, he made me lost control and I had to split from him before he made me hurt anyone else. I've been trying to hold him back for a while." P.J. explained. "That would make a lot of sense." Marc stated. "Ms. Bustier once taught us that there's a dark side in all of us." Nathaniel said. "But you're not alone. We all had our share of being akumatised to do something in retaliation." Luka said cheering me up.
"If something like that happened to P.J., imagine what would happen if Ladybug and Cat Noir got their dark sides got unleashed being akumatised." Markov said with worry, causing Marinette and Adrien to be wide eyed. "There's no way anything like that would ever happen. Ladybug and Cat Noir are too strong to let themselves be akumatised." Rose said.
"Even so, Lavillant, Paris is in real trouble now, so you all better get home and prepare for the worst. I'll see if Ladybug and Cat Noir got this message and I'll let them be professionals and save Paris from here on out." P.J. said winking at Marinette and Adrien. Marinette awkwardly nodded as Adrien looked confused at why Marinette was acting like that. "Whoa… It's like this cool guy knows everything about Ladybug and Cat Noir. Creepy, no?" Alix said aside to Rose who nodded. "I can hear you!" P.J. shouted to Alix.
Back at the observatory, Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancouer were free from Horrificator's slime as Dark Mills smiles at them after they were exposed. However, Stoneheart and Gorizilla restrain them. "Dark, you won't get away with this!" Gabriel Agreste shouted struggling. "Oh, I already have, Hawk Moo, you crummy, slummy, gummy, bummy, dummy." Dark smiled slapping his cheeks.
"Time to come out, Nooroo and Duusu." Dark Mills said as the two kwamis come out. "Master, I think it's time we stopped helping you hurt other people." Duusu said as she turned and gasped. "I agree with Duusu, we had enough of your abuse, and refuse to help evili... I don't think you're him." Nooroo said in shock as he and Duusu see their masters being taken away. "There is no need to be scared. You two are free of them. Free of being held hostage. Free of their abuse." Dark Mills said. "We are? Really? Thank goodness. You don't know how much it means to us be free." Duusu spoke until she and Nooroo were grabbed by Dark Mills's fists. "Good. Because I'll be your new masters now." He said. "We were afraid of that." Nooroo said struggling. "Let's see how these two work when I combine their powers." Dark smirked.
"Peacock and Butterfly, Unify!" Dark Mills shouted as he put the Peacock and Butterfly Miraculouses together as he transformed. "Behold, Dark Moth is born!" Dark Moth shouted. "Take those two to the Ancient Dungeons." Dark Moth said to Stoneheart, Horrificator and Gorizilla taking Gabriel Agreste and Nathalie Sancouer away as he went to the Eiffel Tower as he made a laboratory underneath it.
"Ladybug, Cat Noir, it is time you see what the new Hawk Moth can do. With these perfect copies of the Miraculous, I make my wish; to create Ladybug's greatest foe of all!" Dark Mills shouted as he puts in the Phantom Ruby, an Akuma, strands of Marinette's hair from her pigtails inside a chamber. "Whoa. Big Boss ain't joshing. He means business this time." Lady Wifi stated as Bubbler nodded.
Dark Moth inputs the fake Miraculouses inside a machine to make his wish happen. By entering the combat data he got from Ladybug fighting against him as Dark Mills when he and P.J. were akumatized, mixing the DNA from Marinette/Ladybug from strands of her pigtails, an Akuma, and finally the Phantom Ruby, he created a clone showing a silhouette similar to Ladybug, and it began to emit a dark aura while she closed her eyes in a glass tube.
