These Violent Delights
Double Agent
This part of the village had been ravaged since the Kyubi invasion, and only the poorest dregs lived here. Sasuke pulled his hood down as he paced through the neighborhood. His eyes scanned the dilapidated surroundings, noting the desolation and despair etched into every crumbling wall and broken window. The air was thick with the smell of decay, and the occasional scurry of rats was the only sign of life.
He soon found his target: a clinic whose entrance was built into a narrow alley. A rusted board with a pitiful light inside advertised its presence. The light flickered, casting eerie shadows that danced across the walls. Sasuke took a deep breath, steeling himself, and pushed the door open.
Inside, he was greeted by a heavily tattooed, bored-looking lady. She barely glanced at him as he entered. Unlike the sweltering heat outside, the air conditioning inside was blasting on full, making the building uncomfortably cold. Sasuke shivered involuntarily, his annoyance showing in a slight blush. He approached the receptionist and, with an irritated voice asked, "I'm here for my routine STD checkup."
The lady nodded, still not looking up, and pointed to a narrow door at the back. Sasuke followed her direction eagerly.
The room was stark, clinical, and unwelcoming. A woman with short brown hair, wearing a white lab coat, sat inside. She looked at him unblinkingly, her gaze cold and assessing. "Uchiha-san," she greeted him in a robotic monotone.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. "Are you Miko?" he asked.
She stared at him for a few moments, her expression unreadable. "Young Uchiha, do not ask questions to which you already know the answer. It makes you look stupid."
Sasuke's cheeks flushed with anger, but he held his tongue. "Do you have the proof?" he asked, his voice tight.
Miko handed him a black leather-bound folder. Sasuke took it with trembling hands and began to read through the dossier. Each word seemed to cut deeper than the last, and he struggled to keep his composure. Miko watched him with a detached interest.
"I hope Uchiha-san will be pleased," she commented dryly. "Unlike Konoha, we have made no attempts to censor the truth behind the Uchiha genocide."
Sasuke shut the folder with an audible thump, his body shaking with barely contained sobs. Miko got up, mixed a few drinks, and handed one to the boy. Sasuke accepted it gratefully, downing it in one swing. The liquid burned his throat, but it brought a semblance of calm.
"Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
Miko nodded, her expression still impassive. "After his defection, Uchiha Itachi was briefly a part of our organization. Back then, we did not know how treacherous he could be. Like you, we too felt the sting of betrayal when he, alongside the rogue sannin, Orochimaru, betrayed our organization. It would behoove you to work with us. Together, we can achieve justice for ourselves."
Sasuke's eyes darkened at the mention of his brother. "What do you want in return for this information?" he asked, his voice hardening.
Miko's lips curled into a faint, cold smile. "All we require is that you carry out a series of tasks for us."
"Oh?"
"Tell me Uchiha-san, do you have any idea about the Kyubi Jinchuirki?" Mito asked
The Beginning
There had been many moments in his life that he had been afraid. The time when he and a few units had to face down a legion of Kumo and Iwa shinobi. That was when he had unleashed the prototype version of the Flying Thunder God. The time when he had faced down E and Ai who nearly took his head off with one of their patented lariats. The time when he fiddled like a teenager with a ring as Kushina chatted away their entire date. The time he faced down against the Nine-Tails had been a nightmare in every possible way. Kushina and he had held down the Biju while the Third Hokage gave up his life sealing it.
Luckily, he had gone into a coma following that and never woke up. The first thing he remembered after waking up was the cold clinical face of Tsunade and his wife crying tears of joy. The entire effort had been a black op of the highest proportion. It was known only to Tsunade and Jiraiya, even Danzo and co had been unaware. Even their child, Naruto, had been labeled as dead. Minato had protested the decision but clamped down once he was told that Iwa assassins had been caught surveying the mansion of Uchiha Mikoto, believing her to be Naruto's godmother. Worse, the interim Hokage, Shikaku Naara, was also unaware of Naruto's existence. Their only shot at a reunion was returning to the village hale and healthy so they could protect those close to them.
Their only respite was a young Uzumaki orphan whom Kushina had taken a liking to and treated as her daughter. Uzumaki Amy was a lab creation of Danzo's Root, harnessed when the whirlpool fell. She was found by Jiraiya during one of his reconnaissance adventures and taken as an apprentice. Since then, she had acted as Minato's own shield. Sworn, to protect his life with her own, come no matter what.
Unfortunately, none of these ordeals had prepared him for facing down a scrawny blonde with an icy pair of blue eyes. By law, he was his blood. By genes, he was his son. Yet neither Minato nor Kushina could help but flinch as they looked at him. He might as well be a stranger to them.
"I made a conscious decision for the greater good of the village. Our actions saved many lives including yours." Minato said.
"I understand," Naruto said.
"And yet you hold a grudge against us," Minato said.
"I would never dream of having any traitorous thoughts against our lord," Naruto said. "That is treason. I am a loyal shinobi of Konoha."
"And yet you refused to have anything to do with us," Minato said. "We made open offers for you to live with us in the Hokage manor. A marked upscaling from your living conditions, I might add."
"I am a genin now. A shinobi. All shinobis are adults. Adults should live on their own." Naruto said and shrugged his shoulders. "I have been living this routine for years and don't see any reason to change."
Kushina broke free from Minato's grip and yelled, "In what world is this fair Sochi? How long will this punishment continue? Everything that has happened put it behind us. We can move on together!"
Naruto didn't reply and the two parties stared at each other.
"Do you have any orders Hokage-sama or am I dismissed?" Naruto asked. Minato stared at him for a while before nodding towards the door.
"By your leave," Naruto said, bowed, and walked out the door. He looked up to see a kunoichi standing in the hallway. Naruto recognized the trademark ginger hair of the Uzumaki clan and glared at her.
Uzumaki Amy. He recognized it and she stared back at him with equal ferocity.
"You are a weak, pathetic, and soulless creature, gaki," Amy said.
"Congratulations," Naruto replied. "You won the lottery. Enjoy it while it lasts."
Amy uncrossed her arms and marched on him before a giant clad in red and silver placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her. He stared in disappointment at Naruto, similar to Minato's before speaking, "Genin Uzumaki, you were dismissed, no? Report back to your Team Lead."
Naruto caught a snippet of conversation between the giant and the girl before he completely left the tower.
"Amy-chan, you really need to control yourself in here. You are in a friendly environment, not a hostile one. Life in Konoha is much different from your standard operating environment." The man said.
"Hai, Jiraiya-sama. I will be more careful in the future." She said.
After The Wave Mission
"Of all the reasons for choosing a style, yours is the stupidest one." Sasuke declared as he watched Naruto obliterate a clone with a devastating rear uppercut.
"I mean if you were a cripple like that green idiot and his butt buddy, I could understand why you are the way you are," Sasuke said and Naruto didn't bother replying but merely suplexed another clone into the dirt. "All that chakra, a lineage of ninjutsu and fuinjutsu, and you chose to be this."
Failing to rise to his bait, Sasuke leaned onto the observer's railing and doubled down, "I can just about hear the sheer speed of the Uzumaki ancestors rolling in their graves. I guess this is why they call it the village of the eddies."
A few kicks and another clone were returned to his maker.
"The ancestors are in a perpetual motion due to their disappointment. Ergo, the sheer amount of ugly whirlpools that plague the region." Sasuke jeered but to his utter fury, Naruto still focused on his forms.
"Oi Uzumaki! I am talk-" The area around him darkened as a massive leg descended on him in a downward arc.
Fast! Sasuke thought as he dodged just in the nick of time. Naruto didn't relent and pushed forward. Stones shattered beneath him as he slammed into Sasuke with a chakra-enhanced take-down, knocking the wind from his lungs. Sasuke was too slow in his blocking and Naruto proceeded with a volley of ground and pound. Sasuke spat out blood and was groggy, smirking at his handiwork, Naruto corked and elbow for a final and slammed it down. Bone connected with a wooden block as Sasuke substituted and then tossed a volley of smoke grenades all over the arena.
"You hit almost as bad as Tsunade," Sasuke said, "Not bad for a guy whose entire shinobi way works to be the polar opposite of his father."
Naruto snorted at that, tensed his muscles, and crouched – ready to pounce at the Uchiha the moment he neared him. There was a subtle change in the smoke particle concentration and a shadow moved, Naruto went for another takedown only to find himself slamming into the ground without his quarry.
"Genjutsu," Sasuke commented and jumped at his exposed back. A sick crunch echoed through the arena and the stoic blond was forced to scream in pain.
"Kenjutsu." Sasuke said as he brought a Katana down on his throat and demanded, "Yield."
Naruto begrudgingly nodded and Sasuke got off his back and sheathed his blade. He turned to the blonde and offered a helping hand. Naruto stared at him in shock before Sasuke snorted in frustration and yanked the blonde up with a grimace.
The guy weighs a ton Sasuke thought as he looked at the man's bulging muscle and towering height. A blood stream flowed into his eye and Sasuke winced. Naruto wordlessly handed him a bandage and Sasuke nodded in gratefulness and took a seat near the spectator view.
A few minutes after Sasuke was done bandaging himself.
"It's not that I have a problem with what you do. Hell, if my elder brother ever showed his face again, I would kill him. Family is simply too troublesome." Sasuke said. "I have a problem with not staying alive on the field. You are one-dimensional. That is a problem that can be easily exploited by a veteran. Case in point: Haku."
A hail of senbon relentlessly poured at them from every possible direction. Some were genjutsu, and some were real. Both were hurt badly. The two boys howled in pain as they took direct hits. Both knew this was the end and were pretty much resigned to it.
Naruto felt a strange new chakra bubble inside him. It felt corrosive and the sound of a machine ticking relentlessly filled his head. Senbon seemed to melt as they got into his vicinity and time seemed to slow down for him. Naruto pounced as he saw Haku leave the ice mirror for an instant, grabbed it, and locked it into a kimura. A satisfying crunch followed and Haku's concentration broke, the mirrors crashed around them. Haku pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the ribs. He then wrenched it out and then stabbed him again. Naruto staggered away and fell. The water around them seemed to get cold again and levitated in the air again as it materialized into needles again. Suddenly, Sasuke appeared behind him again and slit his throat.
"And above all, I'd rather work with you than tolerate a single second longer with that pink harpy," Sasuke said. "Not even the Good Sage of Six Paths could cure that harpy of her stupidity."
Naruto didn't reply but peered off into the distance. Sasuke handed him a piece of paper and Naruto stared at him.
"Chakra paper. Used to detect your Chakra type." Sasuke said.
Naruto focused on it and the paper seemed to acquire a greenish hue before radiating heat from it and burning. Sasuke whistled and gingerly collected it and placed it in a container.
"That was unexpected." Sasuke said, "Still you are in luck. Fire indicates a katon inclination. Lucky for you, yours truly excels in it. Also, if we are lucky, we can find some scrolls in the old family compound."
Naruto nodded and Sasuke agreed.
"Besides, I have something else for you," Sasuke said and pulled out a weapon clad in black plastic wrapping. Sasuke winced as he passed on the heavy load to Naruto who effortlessly held it. He tore at the wrapping paper to reveal a neon blue Kuarsigama with a wicked blade.
"To extend your range," Sasuke remarked. "Given your propensity for going big or go home, I think this will work perfectly."
"Who knows, maybe in some years, you will pay me back eh?" Sasuke said and extended his hand to Naruto. Naruto stared at it for a while before shaking it. He never noticed Sasuke discreetly pocketing the chakra paper. Unfortunately, he never even saw him place it in an abandoned letterbox later in the evening.
Target Assassination
Sasuke watched in satisfaction as the man underestimated the blonde's sheer madness and let the chained blade collide against him. His eyes widened in shock at the sheer weight of the thing before his mind registered the pain of it. His armor cracked and he was tossed away. With a painful grunt, he crashed into the wall.
"Toka!" his companion roared and tried to rush to his aid. Sasuke threw a kunai which he dodged by jumping away. Pity for him, Sasuke braced his sword and dashed towards his landing position. The man unable to dodge, was impaled on the Uchiha's blade and threw up blood in response.
Meanwhile, Naruto wrapped the Kusarigama's blade around the other's neck and started choking him with it. Sasuke walked up to him and gently patted Toka's rapidly bluing cheek, "There there Toka-chan, it isn't that bad. You could've ended up like your friend there." He grabbed him by the mouth and forced him to look towards his friend's dead body. Thankfully, Sakura had done them a favor by getting herself knocked out in the opening seconds of the battle and was no longer there to bug them. Before they could continue their fun, a voice interrupted them,
"Oi, that's enough." They looked up to see two young Kumo shinobi with darkened skin yell at them.
"Who the hell are you?!" Sasuke shouted back.
"Kumo shinobi, Omoi and Kauri. The man is a missing-nin and will be coming with us." Omoi said.
"He will face justice in Kumo. Let him go." Karui said.
"As you can see here, we have already administered justice. So why don't you go back to wherever you came from." Sasuke said and nodded at Naruto who increased the pressure and broke the man's trachea.
"There." Sasuke pointed at Toka's limp corpse. "Enjoy the free pay cheque guys."
He then took a piece of paper and with the man's blood wrote a series of numbers on it and tossed it to Karui.
"If you are halfway decent shinobi, you will share the pay with us. Here's my IBAN number. No pressure. Just a test of your moral character." Sasuke said and the two glowered at him. Finding no takers, he shrugged his shoulders grabbed Sakura by the foot, and dragged her outside. Her colossal forehead collided with every step as Sasuke marched down to the ground floor.
"You're disgusting," Karui remarked. "Is that what your academy teaches you about handling your teammates."
"Quit being my mother. Or better yet, hang around her for a minute and you'll see why I am the way I am." Sasuke remarked and even Naruto snorted at that, trying to cover up a laugh.
"Are you going to let him get away with that?" Omoi asked turning to Naruto as the blonde joined Sasuke in the stairs. He didn't respond and simply walked past.
"Oi, I asked you a question," Omoi demanded and yanked him by the arm to face him.
"Oh, for fuck's sake," Sasuke muttered as he palmed a kunai away from the Kumo shinobi's eyes.
Naruto towered over Omoi and glared down at him, Omoi met his glare with no fear. Sasuke mentally gave him aura points. Most other Konoha rookies barring Neji would have pissed their pants by now.
I guess they make 'em from sterner stuff over there. Sasuke thought before tuning back into Omoi's rant.
"No noticeable kekkai genkai or clan features. Must be a civilian turned shinobi." Karui taunted Naruto.
"So, was it your Ma' who tied up your Pa? or did Pa get overly frisky with a civilian girl last war?" Omoi demanded but Naruto snorted and turned away. Not rising to their baits.
"Yeah, that's right. Run away without finishing. Right proper manners, yeah? It would make sense you fatherless bastard. You-!" Omoi said and immediately dodged a kunai. Sasuke meanwhile added another +1000 points to Omoi's aura as he flawlessly dodged the kunai. What he didn't expect was the blond to catch his front kick, pick him from it with no additional leverage, and toss him from the balcony.
Karui had already drawn her blades to charge the blonde before Sasuke blew a fireball at the duo in the confined space. When the flames had blown over, Naruto glared at Sasuke who scowled right back.
"Oh, please I know you would've blocked it." Sasuke shot back.
Karui now sporting minor burn wounds charged Naruto whose leg sweeped her and tossed her right into Sasuke. The two crashed right behind the wall. Karui was better able to keep her momentum and used Sasuke as a cushion. Wasting no time, she trapped his arm in a grapple hold. Before Naruto could relieve him, a furious Omoi charged him again from the stairs. A strange pattern of black-colored lightning coated his arm as he smashed a lightning whip into him. Naruto felt thousands of volts go through him before he grits his teeth and gave the whip a hard yank. Not expecting such a counter, Omoi lost control and flew straight into an elbow strike.
Before Naruto could capitalize on his counter, a massive new shinobi jumped into the fray. He easily countered Naruto and threw him straight into Sasuke once again.
"This is now officially…comedic," Sasuke muttered as another body slammed into him in less than an hour.
"Chill little bakas." He wrapped before tying the two together in a loop of ninja wire and jumping away with Omoi.
"I can't believe he made us look like a couple of jackasses," Sasuke said as the adrenaline wore off and the exhaustion set in.
"You set me on fire," Naruto said.
"Oh, wow the bumbling giant does speak," Sasuke said in fake astonishment. "Well, you turned out ok, no? The bitch broke my arm. What about that?"
"Where is Kakashi?" Naruto asked.
"Hopefully the fucker got killed on the road of life or something this time around because if he shows up an hour late, I will really kill him." Sasuke ranted and started petulantly stomping on the wall in front of him.
Naruto could only sigh in frustration and shake his head.
Chunin Exams
Ino had dominated Sakura in a one-sided fight where the blonde knocked her down with a quick kick to her temple. When she fell, I used her kekkai genkai to penetrate her mind and knock her out.
Kakashi placed his head in his hands at the stupid display. He was in a bind, unlike none. Minato had placed him in charge of Team 7 and ordered him to get as close as possible to Sasuke and Naruto. They had been labeled as a flight risk by the intelligence department. They couldn't be monitored like regulars because of the sheer threat of invasion from Kumo and Iwa. Unfortunately, Kakashi couldn't get close to the duo. They regularly ignored their third teammate and only acknowledged Sakura when using her as a mule or dictionary. He had hoped the baptism by fire during the wave mission would force them together instead it only isolated Sakura from the duo.
Worse, Naruto and Sasuke seemed to have developed a much deeper relationship where Kakashi had overheard a troubling conversation. When confronted, the duo had denied everything and developed an inner code for everything they talked about. Now that the Chunin exams were here, Sasuke had beaten the tar out of some sound shinobi. He had qualified for the final round of the Chunin exams. Despite his best attempts, Sakura failed.
When both reached Chunin, the team would most likely be dissolved. Minato needed Kakashi back in the ANBU again and not babysitting some genin.
"Aren't you going to check on your teammate, Sasuke?" Kakashi asked.
"What? Naruto fought already?" Sasuke asked and Kakashi pressed his eyes in frustration.
"I meant, Sakura," Kakashi muttered and Sasuke pretended like he didn't hear him. Naruto never bothered replying but instead fixed his eyes on his opponent. Uzumaki Karin. The girl was placed under the tutelage of … Amy. Naruto unknowingly clenched his hands into tight fists as he wrapped them in tape. Karin felt a death stare on her from across the arm and gulped nervously at the prospect of fighting the massive silverback of a kid.
"You keep looking at her like that, she is gonna piss herself and quit the fight before it even starts," Sasuke said. Naruto didn't respond but continued to push against his tape. He just wished Neji finished the farce against Hinata and knocked the fat kid out. He needed to beat up the Uzumaki. Needed to match her skin color to the color of her hair.
Weneeditweneedweneedit. Another voice sounded in his head. Far more sinister than what he could have expected, and he started leaking red chakra. Sasuke immediately jolted up and with his sharingan locked eyes with Naruto.
"Easy tiger. Easy." Sasuke whispered as he placed a genjutsu on Naruto. "Keep the demon in control. Mind over matter."
Naruto didn't respond but continued snarling in a barely constrained animalistic fury.
"Mind over matter. Come on, buddy. Say it." Sasuke said as he increased the potency of the genjutsu.
"Mind….. over…matter." Naruto gasped out and the chakra receded back into his body. Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief and glanced about to see if someone had spotted them. In a stroke of utter bad luck, the worst possible candidate had witnessed the entire debacle. The weirdo from Suna with a massive gourd on his back had seen all and now smiled sadistically at him.
"Birds of a feather…." Sasuke muttered under his breath. Why was it always him that was stuck with the weirdos?
The Hyuga girl was now getting slapped around by Neji. The dude was using one arm now and she couldn't even get close to him. A lifetime of munching on cakes, rolls, and sweet tea had made the Hyuga heiress a pathetic sight when compared to her prodigious cousin. She glanced towards the rafters, hoping for inspiration, before locking in with Naruto.
Sasuke smirked viciously and said, "Aw Naruto look! Your stalker is to you! Why don't you don your shining armor and go save her!"
Naruto didn't respond but kept on glaring at Karin who did everything in her power to not faint or look back at him.
Feeling more adventurous after his victory, Sasuke further egged him on, "Here I even found some grip powder you can use to roll her in and find the wet spot during your first night."
Naruto still didn't respond. Neji getting bored now, closed in and with a single strike to her neck, knocked out Hinata. The body was carried out while Kurenai held back an angry Kiba from making stupid mistakes with Neji.
The Match
"Do try to win this, Naruto. It would be a damn shame to hear Kakashi bitch and moan about teamwork for another 2 years." Sasuke said and Naruto nodded in agreement, surprising Sasuke.
"If he was so good at teamwork, one would assume he would have saved those two morons instead of weeping in front of that tomb," Naruto muttered as he walked down.
Amy pressed Karin's shoulders in encouragement and urged her to be brave. Opposite her, Naruto stood in an orange shirt and blue shirt. Kakashi hadn't even bothered to escort Naruto after neither boy had bothered to check up on Sakura. Clearly, the man had given up on Team 7.
"Hajime!" The proctor announced.
Naruto wasted no time and rushed Karin. Karin made a swipe with a kunai, but Naruto ducked under it and got behind her.
"Damn it!" Karin yelled as Naruto hauled her up and slammed her down. Naruto felt her go limp before rolling her on her back and slamming a series of vicious elbows. Karin spat out blood and a few teeth. Seeing her go completely limp Naruto stood up and walked away. Karin made a weak handseal and adrenaline flowed through her. She took her place behind Naruto and clumsily flung a poisoned kunai that grazed his shoulder.
Immediately he felt dizzy and saw through a hooded gaze a rejuvenated Karin get up.
"Are you giving up already Naruto-kun?" Karin mocked. "My such a big bad shinobi beaten by a young girl. If you did-"
Naruto roared and brought his forehead down in a vicious headbutt to Karin. Shattering her nose and further bones.
"You talk too much," Naruto said as he delivered a right hand to her jaw, knocking her out before the poison took a more powerful hold on her. Still, Naruto didn't relent and kept on pummeling her before the proctor dragged her off and Ami stood between her and Naruto.
A medic sat him down and injected him with an antidote while Genma gingerly took a place between Amy and Naruto, fearing the worst from her. The medic-nin cleared him from any active danger and Genma declared Naruto the winner. Karin was stretchered out from the arena.
Naruto couldn't help but shout a parting quip, "Nice hair, Uzumaki."
Credit to Ami's composure, she showed no outward signs of anger but merely kept marching out with her student.
Give up?
"And citing administrative and security concerns, headquarters had deemed it imperative to redeploy Jounin Kakashi Hakate to other fronts. Pending your chunin exams, you will be assigned to other areas of service, signed Jounin Commander Shikaku Naara." Sasuke narrated aloud before setting the memo alight and throwing it away.
"Can't believe that little weasel bailed on us. Just when we are scheduled two utter monsters in the finals." Sasuke muttered. "All other fuckers are being drilled hard while we sit here with our dicks in our hands."
"Who did you get?" Naruto asked.
"That sand freak with the red hair," Sasuke said and even Naruto grimaced at that.
"You?" Sasuke asked.
"Hyuga Neji," Naruto said and Sasuke laughed at that.
"Drop out," Naruto said and Sasuke turned to him, but Naruto wasn't cowed. "Drop out. You don't have anything strong enough to pierce his sand defenses."
"I'm faster than him." Sasuke countered.
"So was the cripple." Naruto said, "And unlike you, he rained down absolute taijutsu bombs on him, but it didn't even phase the demonhost. You don't have anything remotely equal in your powers to him."
"He is a demon host?!" Sasuke demanded.
"Aye," Naruto said and Sasuke threw his hands in the air in frustration and plopped on the mattress opposite him.
"Fire?" Sasuke asked.
"Won't help with his sand?" Naruto said.
"I can always heat it up," Sasuke said.
"And get roasted alive by hot sand in return." Naruto countered.
A while passed by before Sasuke got up and announced, "I'm going for a walk. Don't wait up for me."
He went outside, removed a brick, and recovered a radio. Tuning into a radio channel only he knew about, "Mito, I need a favor repaid."
A brief moment of silence before a reply came in, "Affirmative, hawk."
Retrieval Ark
"Oof" Sasuke mocked in fake sympathy, "They did a number on you."
Naruto leaned back against Hashirama's statue and glared at him, "If only I knew whose fault this is."
Sasuke tossed him a bandage and Naruto took it and wrapped himself with it.
"Why did you do it?" Naruto asked.
"Why not? Konoha had nothing left to offer. It was time to move on." Sasuke said, "Kakashi dumped us. Nothing was being done about bringing Itachi to heal. If I want to confront him one day, I must be the one to bring him to heal."
"I wonder where I fit into this equation," Naruto asked and Sasuke grimaced.
"Naruto – I," Sasuke said, and Naruto interrupted, "I know you gave the chakra paper sample to somebody."
"It wasn't Orochimaru," Sasuke swore and Naruto once again stunned him.
"I know. You are not as good at hiding things as you think are. A few shinobi broke into our residence, eager to find out who you have been meeting at the clinic." Naruto said and winced as his wounds stung. "They were very interested in that black folder of yours. Luckily for you, I destroyed it before they reached it."
"You know. About Itachi and the village?" Sasuke said. "Itachi being a spy?"
"Aye" Naruto responded.
"And yet you still fight for them. You would drag me back to Konoha, have me locked up in a cell, and tortured for treason." Sasuke said. "Some friend you are."
"As opposed to making me run through a gauntlet of Orochimaru's shinobi to reach you." Naruto shot back and Sasuke stared away.
"Who is your godfather here?" Naruto demanded.
"They call themselves the Akatsuki. For some reason, they are interested in Biju and their containers." Sasuke said. "They wanted operatives in Konoha. The grand finale being them scooping the 9th and the 1st in one go."
"They knew about the invasion?" Naruto asked.
"Yeah," Sasuke replied and both stared at each other from across the chasm.
"The plan was to use Orochimaru's escort to escape from Fire country's borders and infiltrate his circles. Orochimaru is weakest when changing bodies. When the time came, Akatsuki expected to me smuggle their operatives into Sound and kill Orochimaru." Sasuke said.
"Why?" Naruto asked.
"Akatsuki hates Itachi and Orochimaru for betraying them. They haven't confronted Itachi yet. One piece at a time or so the saying goes." Sasuke said. "In return, they would give me enough power to kill Itachi."
"Konoha would never allow the last Uchiha to escape. Your DNA is vital for the village's function. They will hunt you till the world's end." Naruto said. "And now you intend to make an enemy of Orochimaru as well. You don't have a lot of allies."
"Come with me then," Sasuke said and Naruto stared at him.
"With my Sharingan and your demon, we will grab this entire world by the short hairs and force them into submission," Sasuke said.
"Akatsuki is after my Biju as well, dumbass," Naruto said.
"Well fuck 'em then. We will kill them too." Sasuke said.
Naruto now glared at him, "Konoha, Orochimaru, and soon Akatsuki as well, do you have a death wish?"
"Yeah, well maybe we should frickin' die. What exactly did we achieve living so long? More misery. If death is on the books, then death it is." Sasuke said.
"Damn you," Naruto muttered as Sasuke got up and gave him a hand.
"You have five seconds. Take my hand or forever remain Konoha's slave." Sasuke declared.
"Damn you," Naruto muttered again.
A Fresh Dose of Cancer
Remember, we need him to get up and close. He is prone to dramatics. He will take the bait.
Are you sure this will work?
100%
This was their price to Akatsuki. Have Itachi approach a collection point alone without reinforcements to collect Orochimaru's dead body. Obviously, the real body was now with Sasori and Kakuzu who were taking it to Rain.
"Itachi!" Sasuke roared as he charged him with a clumsy blade. Itachi easily deflects it and knocks Sasuke back into the wall. Naruto gave chase and lunged at Itachi. Itachi caught him by the throat and smashed him into the wall.
"Pathetic. Such a miserable display." Itachi said. Naruto grinned internally as Kyubi's chakra rushed through his body. He felt his teeth transform into fangs and bit his hands. Itachi made no move to block and let the fangs pierce his skin. If anything, he looked amused by the entire effort. Itachi never noticed a faint orange hue surrounding the skin where he had been bitten. Itachi punched Naruto in the stomach and then slammed him into the wall again, knocking him out.
A few hours later, both boys recovered and grinned at each other. The chakra could be forced to act slowly. If anything happens, Itachi will feel a mild distaste at best. Soon he would recognize the lethal cancer that now occupied his body. A month from now, when his time came to die, Sasuke would make short work of him.
Backstabbing
Mito let her henge flow away and, in her place, stood a tall stern woman with blue hair.
"Konan." Sasuke acknowledged.
"Uchiha-san," Konan said. "The surgery to replace Itachi's eyes has been a success for over a month now. Yet, you still haven't fulfilled your end of the bargain."
"Oh?" Sasuke asked sarcastically.
"Where is the Kyubi Jinchuiriki?" Konan questioned.
"Oh, don't worry about him," Sasuke said. "I already retrieved him. In fact, he is right behind you."
Konan gently turned back to see a huge shinobi whirling a massive kusarigama behind her.
She turned back to Sasuke, "You have made a terrible mistake, Uchiha-san. The entire world wants you dead. We were your only refuge."
"Fuck the world and fuck you," Sasuke said with eyes blazing with the Mangekyou Sharingan.
From her rear, Naruto rushed at a frightening speed.
Two hours later, a corpse bearing significant burn injuries by demon-infused chakra greeted Ame residents. It was nailed to their grand door with a notice bearing the declaration of war.
Have Violent Ends
Sasuke limped up to the top of the mountain. One of his eyes was missing, courtesy of a black lightning blade. His left arm had stopped responding an hour ago. This coupled with numerous dozens of injuries relating to burn wounds and kunai strikes, Sasuke was at death's door. With the last vestiges of strength, he neared the top and stumbled onto it. The familiar sight of wild blonde hair greeted him.
"You're a tough bastard to have survived that," Sasuke muttered and spat out blood from his mouth.
"I could say the same," Naruto said. The blonde was missing his left leg from below the knee. A series of puncture wounds indicated the numerous Rasengan strikes he had taken from Namizake Minato.
The two sat in silence as they saw the last of their forces get routed. They surrendered but it wasn't accepted, and they were executed.
"Our forces have been routed. It's over." Naruto muttered looking at the battlefield below.
"Hn," Sasuke grunted.
When Tobi had revealed his true colors and declared war on all. The duo had stolen the dork Kabuto's necromantic army and added a third side to the entire war. A single resolute pincer had penetrated the fire country. First, they lay siege to the Imperial city plundered everything worth taking, and slept with all of the Daimoyo's daughters. The Daimoyo's head was chopped off and used as their personal chamber pot. When they were done, the entire city was set aflame with Amaterasu by Sasuke. Meanwhile, Naruto made entire acres of arable land around it barren and radioactive with his demon chakra.
Soon, they marched to Konoha and laid siege to it. The village was constantly bombarded with Biju dramas till reinforcements from the coalition arrived to relieve them. Surrounded on both sides, their army was devastated. Naruto and Sasuke had managed to escape back to Sound. There they drew the demon's power to its very limit and left it a husk. Thousands of undead shinobi were reanimated, some from the times of the clan wars before Hashirama. Their undead army regularly clashed with Obitio and the Coalition. Before the coalition put an end to them, they razed Suna and Konoha to dirt.
After that, they invaded cloud country and made a mad dash to Kumo. However, they had lost significant troops. Much to their annoyance, Akatsuki and Coalition briefly joined forces against them. In the final battle, Yondaime had corned Naruto and spat some sanctimonious drivel about loyalty and family. Naruto responded with Kuarsigama.
The battle was brutal, every time Minato neared him, he struck back hard. Several bones were broken between the duo. Minato nailed a dozen rasengans to his body till Naruto grabbed his left arm in the last barrage. He then proceeded to rip it off and then took the fire lord's head off with a single stroke. Unfortunately, the effort had left Naruto devastated.
Meanwhile, Sasuke watched in satisfaction as the Raikage was burnt alive under the black flames of the Sharingan. However, an enraged Killer Bee had ripped out his eye and broken his left arm.
The two had retreated to their mountain outpost.
"At least you got the blonde bastard." Sasuke spat.
"Amen to that," Naruto replied.
A shadow came over the base of the mountain as the enemy shinobi gathered en mass to charge the mountain. A gust of serene wind blew over them. Strangely enough, it calmed them enough to accept their end.
"What now?" Sasuke asked.
"They are not taking me alive." Naruto declared.
"I don't think they intended to." Sasuke chuckled, "But it's a good sentiment."
"No, but seriously, what's our final card here," Sasuke said.
Naruto made a handseal and the final corpse burst out of the ground.
Sasuke's eyes widened, "En no Gyoja?!" and Naruto grinned.
En No Gyoja started preparing his lengthy hand seals and Naruto input the last of Kyubi's chakra in him.
"If I am going to hell, they are all coming with me," Naruto said.
Sasuke stared at him for a while before he started laughing hysterically. Naruto joined him soon.
Later observers from the intelligence wing reported seeing a mushroom cloud over 60 km tall in the place where the coalition army was wiped out.
