TRIGGER WARNING!: Self-harm

AN: Hey guys. I hope y'all all are staying safe and healthy. I'm sorry this took so long. I had most of it written for a bit but with all that's happened, I just didn't have the motivation to finish it and edit. I'm still not the happiest with how it turned out, but I hope you enjoy it.

If you read my other stories, you'll notice I haven't updated some in a hot minute. I'm gonna try and change that (yes, I always say that), but I've also noticed that I need to focus on my self-care more. I tend to neglect my own needs and mental health in order to get things done and people close to me have pointed out how it's actually hurting me. My point in saying this is, writing brings me joy but only if it's genuine. I'm going to continue this story (don't worry) but if updates are later than normal that's why. I want what y'all are reading to be things I'm proud of and are from me when I write in a mentally sound state.

Now that my life update is done, please enjoy the long-awaited chapter. In case you forgot, this is kinda a continuation on the last chapter.

There sat Sebastian on the floor, backed up to the edge of the bathtub. Everyone was taking in the new bruises and cuts that had been added to the ever-growing collection along with the blooming black eye.

They didn't notice much else around them, completely oblivious to the blood on the ground until Sebastian's cries moved their eyes. As they began to look around, it wasn't hard to notice the blood droplets on the floor.

The stark red smeared on pearl white tile.

The red droplets tainting the tub behind him.

The red roses blooming through his white shirt.

And the shining silver which laid in his hand, calling him in like a siren.

The audience couldn't help but gasp as all they could do was watch as Sebastian stared at the blade, thinking.

'You should have protected her. You made one promise to Samantha and you can't even keep it. Disgrace. And let's not forget how it's your fault Samy's dead. If it weren't for you she wouldn't be dead! '

Sebastian let a sob out as he closed his fist around the blade. It's silver twinkled in the light as he brought it up towards his arm.

You could have saved Samy.

Slash!

You should have protected Sab.

Slash!

You're supposed to be her big brother and you failed!

Slash!

You failed them both.

Slash!

If you had kept your mouth shut this wouldn't have happened.

Slash!

Why couldn't I just be normal?

The silver drew red all along his arm. Over and over again it reigned down, until eventually the blood falling along his skin mixed with the tears streaming from his eyes.

Everyone just stared in shock at the sight before them. The Warblers couldn't believe that not just one but two of their brothers ever felt so low as to hurt themselves.

They might not always like Sebastian's choices but he was still their friend; even if he wasn't, they wouldn't wish this on anyone.

A timid knock fell upon the door.

"Sebby?" Sabrina's soft voice seemed to both lift Sebastian's spirits and scare the living daylight out of him.

"One sec! What's up?" He thanked his lucky stars (not that they had been much help in life) that he had locked the door when he entered as he called back to her.

"Come to your room," Sabrina responded, sneakily as she scampered off.

Sebastian sighed as he quickly bandaged himself up before throwing on a jacket from the ground and zipping it all the way up.

He walked down the hallway, footsteps light. The door swung open gently.

"Happy Birthday!" Sabrina shouted as much as she could without being too loud as she threw up her arms.

A smile graced his face.

"Aww, thank you."

"But wait! I got you a present!" She scurried to grab something next to his bed as she went and sat down on the ground, closing the door.

"Here ya go!" She dragged a huge across the floor and thrust it in his hands.

He looked down at it.

The Theoretical Understanding of Time, Space, and the Universe

He looked at her in shock after reading the title.

"Wha, where'd you get this?" He asked.

"One of the big kids said he never wanted to see that bleeping book again and gave it to the library person. I asked if I could give it to you and she said yes."

A smile graced everyone's face, in the memory and out. She was so young yet so considerate.

"Open it! There's a card!"

Lo and behold, there was a handmade card right on the inside. She had drawn a picture of her and Sebastian with Happy Birthday on it.

When he opened it up it read,

"Dear Sebby,

You're the best big brother in the whole wide world! I love you sooooooo much! You're my hero! Happy Birthday!"

David was the one who went up and read the (obviously written by an adult but dictated by the little lady) card out loud to the group.

Sebastian just stared at it for a few moments before pulling her into a hug.

"You have to be here… for her."

Those words rang out as the memory faded and the next began to take shape. Many of the viewers were wiping away tears, both of sadness and happiness. They were shocked by what they had seen. They didn't think Sebastian would ever be so low as to hurt himself. Many were worried by the fact that it seemed that he blamed himself for Samantha's death, among other things. Those who had been in similar situations knew this wasn't healthy for him.

But seeing him with his sister seemed to bring joy to their faces, even if it was in the midst of tragedy. He was such a good brother, trying to protect her from the horrors neither of them should have had to face.

His Warbler brothers were now realizing that Sebastian had more depth than the limited sides he had shown them. They hoped that when this was over that they would be able to help him, the things they saw didn't go away easily.

They just hoped they could get through to him, he's really stubborn when he wants to be, and if there's one thing it seemed that he cared about more than anything, it was Sabrina.
