AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey everyone! It's been a while. I'm gonna cut right to the chase and give you important updates:

I'm currently working on three different new fanfiction projects, yes, I am a bit insane. I will upload the first chapter of each one simultaneously, hopefully by the end of March. Same goes for the TLF Audiobook, which will drop around the same time on my YouTube channel, more info on that next time.

AFTER THAT

I will continue working full-time on The Last Firebender. Book 3 is slated to have 24 chapters and will be sort of split into two parts. Not to give too much away but it's gonna be pretty awesome. Three years it's been since my first chapter dropped, and the journey since then has been quite amazing, both for the characters of this story as well as in my personal life. Once again thanks to everyone who supported this story, even if you're just reading it. It means the world to me.

Anyhow, as to reward your patience, here's a little appetizer for what's to come...

Book 3: Water - Teaser

In the Future

For a good minute Ty Lee thought she was drowning. It covered her from head to toe, massaged every part of her body in a gross, oppressive manner. It felt as if a massive tongue tried to squeeze the girl, swallowed the airbender down slowly a gross, fleshy digestive track. It was death. It was grief. It was every bad feeling and ounce of doubt that ever existed inside of her. That part that made her blow up at Kenora, made her thrash Akari, and the part that made her want to kill Aang. Zuko doesn't love her anymore, her best friend is dead. When that black pile of goo devoured her, she didn't resist. It felt like death and that was right.

Ty Lee opens her eyes again. A few seconds pass. Her grey orbs scan the room quietly. Dark metal, a bronze color. It's oddly warm. Stuffy. No windows. There's a hatch, but it's shut. Memories float in her head. A silent fog at the bottom of her mind, like a fainted picture, blurry and unfocused.

Was it just a... dream? Did any of it happen? Zuko, the love of her life? Azula, her best friend and sister? An Avatar from a different world?

A terrifying gasp enters her lungs as she jolts up. Her hand almost slaps her skull as it reaches for her right eye. Her breath remains unstable and frantic, a panic attack dashing through her system.

TY LEE (mumbling to herself): Where am I?

Hi!

Ty Lee flinches once more at the voice in her head.

TY LEE: Who said that?!

Me! Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself – how silly of me!

TY LEE: Why do you... why do you sound like... me?

That's because I am you! Kind of. My name is Ty Lee. It's so nice to meet you!

Lacking the strength to respond, Ty Lee sits there in silence, spotting her own reflection on the wall across. She looks older, thinner, weaker. A braid hangs down her head.

A set of two eyes is staring right back.

We've met already. You visited me a while ago, looked at my memories. You should've asked first, hi-hi!

TY LEE: You're... the other Ty Lee. I'm... in your body.

I... don't particularly like it when you phrase it like that but... yes. You are.

While Ty Lee's breath has slowed down by now, she remains completely uneasy regardless.

It's okay, don't be scared! I'll be here for you. We're sharing this body after all. Or... well, you are... kind of occupying it. But I'm okay with that! You can be my guest for a while.

The airbender finally gets up, walking a few steps closer to the hazy mirror of her polished metal wall.

Speaking of airbender – it's so cool that you're one! Well... it's cool that you're one in your world. Since you have my body now... I'm afraid you're not anymore. Since I'm not one. But I always thought it would be cool to be an airbender!

TY LEE: "In my world"...

Her hand moves up to her eye once again.

TY LEE: I'm not in my world anymore, am I?
