Sorry not an update noticed that fanfiction didnt bother putting the horizontal lines from my word document. will put em by hand now... update somepoing in the future? maybe
"Dad?" the question awoke Aurielle Arc from his afternoon nap, a strange oddity in his usually busy schedule around the settlement.
"Yes Jauney?" his 4 year old son`s face looked confused, slightly worrying the older man.
"Dad, do you see people who other people say arent there?" this worried him making him remember things told to him by old friends, their minds scarred from stressful missions and loss." And do they speak to you?" ah his son probably had an imaginary friend, lonely children developed those he had read while they were preparing for their eldest – Saphron, years ago. But that made no sense his son wasn't a single child or a loner amongst his peers, maybe he as a good father should talk to him? Yes that sounded like the responsible thing to do.
"Are you seeing such a person son?" getting a nod. "Are they in the room with us right now?" another nod this time accompanied with a smile – meaning the older Arc man was on the right track.
"She is watching me all the time." Again a worrying thing to hear your child say, but at this point he was sure nothing would dare harm the family of a huntsmen in their well protected settlement. "She sometimes looks at chocolate or sweets strangely." Noting this in his mind as a call to make sure the sweets are better protected considering his oldest daugthers had no issues taking cookies whenever they want. "She is taller than mom. And has big black wings and a thingy behind her head. I think she doesn't want me to talk about her." Okay things were not getting better the longer the talk was going, but at the same time they were not getting worse. So a to do list – secure the sweets, make sure the house was safe, and maybe talk to Juniper about it.
"That is very nice son. Many kids have imaginary friends, but I don't want others to give you trouble for it, so don't mention her to many people. Okay son?" the nod from the boy made him happy as he thought that his job as a good father was done.
Last thing Hasumi remembered was a giant explosion and when she opened her eyes she wasn't where she last was. Hospital lights softlybuzzing from above and then a swearing and from a bit to the side a swearing. A blonde woman was being operated on? She didn't knew for sure, she may had seen a lot of blood, Tsurugi rarely worn clean clothes after an engagement, but that didn't mean she was well acquainted with medicinal procedures.
"Ill murder you Auriele for doing this to me again."the blonde woman on the bed was the one being worked on.
"Miss Arc, push!" The whole thing made her rather uncomfortable so she tried to leave but at some point in the corridor out of the room she couldn't get any further. So when she turned back to stay outside of the room, she heard loud crying and the doctor saying loud enough for her to hear "It's a healthy baby boy." And her curiosity got the better of her and in the hands of the woman was a small blue wrapped bundle softly pressed to her chest. Out of the wrapped bundle stood a cute pale face with foggy blue eyes making her coo at it. A small arm was reached in her direction.
In the coming days she would realise she was anchored to the blonde the coming months she would see him piss and shit his diaper. With time she would watch him as he said his first words, as he took his first steps, as he made his first friends. She herself hadnt changed from that day in the hospital.
She would try and utterly fail to not influence him.
She was there everyday, he knew it, the image of a dark figure imprinted in his mind since day. He would try to cralw towards her, always going through her. When he learned to walk, she sat behind his parents who encouraged him.
"Who are you?" was what he asked her once he got better at talking.
"I always knew you could see me Jaune." The response from the figure other told him wasn't there. "As for my name, you can call me Hasumi. I am your friend." Her smile was soft and it filled him with warmth.
"Will you play with me?" and handing her a toy, only for it to go though her, making the tall woman visibly sad.
"I am afraid I cant do that child. But I will watch you as you play."
"Sorry for telling dad about you." It seemed he was really remorsefull and she couldn't stay mad at him for too long.
"Just keep me as our little secret." The shine in the baby blues was back. One day she would probably have to watch him be a real hearth-breaker, but that would be for a day in the future.
"Hasumi do you know where mom hides the sweets?" a question that she wasn't expecting, but knew very well the answer of, she wished she could taste the sugary goodness for herself. The inability to phisically interact and taste things was a form of punishment she barely managed to survive.
"Yes I do." The hope blossoming in his eyes was temporary as she spoke again "I cant give them to you, and you are too short to reach them. Saphron and your other sisters are the reason they are places so high."
"Bummer." said the child still too young to know how to swear.
"Bummer indeed." Agreed the angel.
"Hasumi I have an idea!" said the boy clearly too bored from reading the schoolbook, getting her attnetion, making her look at him. "You can tell me what the smarter kids write on the test!"
"Jaune! I am dissapointed by you! That would be unjust to the kids who studied for the test." She had to scold him and set him straight, this had to be one of those formative momments she had heard about.
"Sorry for asking, please! Please, please don't be mad." The boy seemed to understand he had made a mistake and had went in damage control mode.
"Son I cant train you to be a huntsman." Her wards father had to crush his dreams right infront of her very eyes. The crying boy ran away from the room without even hearing the mans reasoning taking her away with himself.
"Hasumi! I will be a hero, I give you my word for it! You believe in me right?" she had never seen such conviction in the boy.
"Everyone can be a hero Jaune. And I will help you become a hero." The hope in his eyes made her believe she made the right choice. "Everyone can become strong. But to be a hero you must be just. You must be ready to sacrifice yourself to protect another. There once was a man, who despite being weaker than the ones surrounding him, put himself in harms way for his students. He once kissed a bratty girl`s feet publicly just to be able to meet and broker peace with one of the powers that were." Her face became somber and her eyes seemed to stare waaay off in the distance. She rarely brought up people she knew. "If I could I would ask you to not set off to be a hero, heroes tend to die, and while the world might be one day a better place because of their sacrifices. They leave behind loved ones to grieve, heroes can be so selfish I hate it. I know I cant change your mind, you have always been a stuborn little man. But you have to listen to me, to let me be your guardian angel."
"I will Hasumi."
"We will start tomorrow. I really could do with a hug right now, but being incorporeal makes that not quite possible."
It was a couple of days later when the first wrench was thrown into his plans. A taller, big sister shaped wrench on top of that.
"Little brother, you will be going and taking dancing lessons with me."Azure`s proclamation came to Jaune unexpected.
"Why? I don't want to be taking dancing lessons!" the blonde boy wanted to train with Hasumi, she had told him that getting in shape would be the first step to becoming a hero.
"Its moms orders, if you have anything against it, take it up with her." It was said in a way that seemed to challenge him without saying. The discouraged young mans shoulders fell having to accept his matriarchs orders.
"Well we have to turn lemons to lemonade, Jaune." Hasumis voice was something he wasn't expecting. "Dancing will help you even if it isnt the best way to do it." To his surprised face she told. " It will help your stamina and endurance." Making the boy grumble but agree. "I myself used to dance, you know. I still wear those shoes as they are what im comfortable with." As if to proove her claim she raised her stocking clad leg, her long parted skirt allowing for the movement to be done without too much resistance , so that her ward could see her shoes better – a black ballet shoe.
It had been months since he started to learn to dance, and indeed it had been showing results – he could keep going longer without struggling to breathe, and while he was not getting bigger he reminded her of Sumire of the Milenium atlethics club – lite and athleatic. But it had brought another concern to the forefront, which he brought to the angel currently sitting on his chair.
"I need a weapon. Despite your training and the dancing lessons I don't think I will be able to fight the grimm barehanded." The boys reasoning was sound, and she herself wasn't able to teach him hand to hand due to being a mid- to long range combatant. Getting close and personal was much more in her Presidents`way of doing things.
"In Kivotos you could just buy guns from most shops. Hell to become a student you needed a fire-arm. I don't know if you can procure one but If you do I could teach you how to use it."
"While it is possible to buy one, there will be no way to do so and get it delivered without my family learning. Not if I plan to be able to acquire transcripts."
"Theres that sword and shield of your grandfather used to fight and tell you stories when you were small. While I don't support taking it, as it is wrong on many levels, I don't wish to see you killed."
The existence of Crocea mors had just dropped out of his mind, the sword was probably still kept in his grandfathers closet. "Hasumi I love you! You are genius." Not noticing how the angel mover her head so that he couldn't see her blushing.
"Stupid dense blonde, saying such things with a straight face." Thought the dark haired angel as they moved towards the old mans room.
The buildings that housed Beacon Academy reminded Hasumi of home, of the academy town of Kivotos, of how her own Academy was, all it needed were howitzers and an absolutely deranged hot beverage obsessed leaders. It was so much like home, that there was an explosion she didn't pay too much of a mind to for half a minute before remembering that this was remnant, and not Trinity.
"Jaune we have to go, see if there are any injured people."
"I will do so." In the past couple of years the young man had become taller than her, the adolescense had been kind to the blonde, and no matter how much she wished she put him on a diet, her ward had gotten her sweet tooth somehow. Hasumi didn't say much, being happy to reminisce about past happier times, in another academy, in another world. What brought her back to reality was hearing a voice a bit too high to be pleasant to her.
"…cute, blonde and scraggly over there?" the girl tallking was a short, entitled and white haired and dressed woman child.
"Really?" said Ruby Rose, the young girl Jaune befriended earlier said excitedly.
"No." and she was an insufferable brat, if only she was with red eyed and loved explosions she could have mistaken her for that tiny gehenna goblin.
After an enigmatic pseudo deep speech about how you go to school to learn things instead of going there already knowing everything, her favourite blonde aproached the white haired girl and she heard him say.
"Im natural blonde by the way." Only to get an exasperated groan from the short girl. Dear god she was short, and that was with heels, to the tall girl it seemed pointless, just accept your limitations and learn to work around and with them, but then again she had tried to diet and hope it would keep her sizes in check. Maybe she should stop Jaune from embarassing himself too much, he was incredibly stubborn sometimes. So she did the thing that she did when she tried to be subtle about things, so she signed him to go a bit further from the crowd.
"Jaune I think shes a lost cause. If you want to give it a try I cant stop you, but keep my opinion in mind. I don't want to watch you be hearthbroken…again." She knew that bringing up Rain was a low blow, but sometimes you had to do the ones you love like that. For their own good of course.
"I understand your concern, Hasumi. I wonder where I would be without you."
"Probably still here Jaune, you can be incredibly bullheaded when you decide on something." Only to have her ward sigh and nod.
The next day she watch the Arc boy walk into the lockerroom while others were changing, somehow the idea of mixed lockers didn't stand right with her, but being an incorporeal advisor to a hormonal teen meant: 1 she wasn't able to do anything about it and 2 teens would be teens, looking at each other was normal as long as it wasn't creepy. She wasn't a prude like Koharu, remembering how the younger angel screamed about how lewdness was wrong brought a smile to her face. She had heard, Auriele and Juniper Arc get intimate, been around while some of his sisters enjoyed themselves in their own rooms thinking noone was going to notice them, and even Jaune as sweet as he was sometimes aasked her to leave him alone in the room, what happened then they didn't spoke of, there was no need for them to do so.
Chance will have it, locker 636 would be right behind the white haired girl from yesterday, she had also caused a commotion last night losing points from the dark angel; and a red haired girl that stood taller than herself while wearing heels, which told Hasumi the bronze clad girl was in reality closer to her own height. How one would fight with heels was beyond her.
"Just be yourself, Jaune."
"hey there frost fairy, I couldn't help but overhear your likeness for me yesterday, and I just want to tell you that, uhhh…" here it seemed he decided to put his foot in his mouth as usual."… so theres free spots on the winning team."
Turns out the redheaded girl Pyrrha was something of a celebrity, which was nice, the young woman was polite and nice all around, almost unnaturaly so. Any and all hopes for a prospective relationship with the white haired girl were soured, to the point she had to hold back the "I told you so".
They stood on the cliffs overlooking the forest, getting instructions which worried her, she couldn't see any halos on the kids, how would they land safely. It seemed Jaune was intune with her to ask about it without her even prompting him to. And then they were flying through the air and she tried to hold him up she was still incorporeal… and yet it seemed he was slightly slowed down when a spear pinned him to tree and an apology was heard.
Leaving her to sit on a branch while he dangled from the tree.
"So it would seem that Weiss isnt into you." She said trying to make small talk and it seemed to not have helped as it just seemed to make him even more dejected.
"Is this an I told you so, Hasumi? The part where I cave in and say that you were right?" and now he seemed a bit upset. She knew he didn't really want to wash out at her.
"No Jaune. I have always tried to act in your best interest. Also I am hearing someone approaching." Making both of them shut up and look towards the coming voice. And Lo and Behold out of the bushes came the rude girl and the red girl. And when he waved at them the former turned around and dragged the latter out of the clearing.
"You were right Hasumi." She moved closer to console him, when something else disturbed the bushes. Kneeing with a rifle immediately trained on it, even after years of incorporealness some habits you just couldn't keep down. When out of the bushes came Pyrrha the nice girl from earlier, she let up.
"Hey Jaune, is there still space on your team?" she really started to like the girl, if only her personal code of conduct didn't stop her from playing matchmaker… no there was still a chance for things to go her way, if there was even a small sign of atraction. The thought brought a smile to her face.
She tried to give them their privacy keeping some distance away, but still close enough to hear em. And after Jaune fell they brought up something that intrigued her.
"Its our soul made manifested, out to protect us." So it was this worlds version of halos. "Everyone but the grimm has them, we, animals and plants have them too."
"Pst, Jaune ask her if she can unlock it for you." Her medling advice seemed pointless as it seemed that it was about to happen anyways.
"For it is in passing that we achive immortality…" with every the tall angel felt the world seem to shift. "Through this we become guardians against evill..." There seemed to be wind only she could see and feel. "Infinite in distance and unbound by death…" above the blond boys head something was burning so bright she had to close her eyes. "I release thy soul and by my shoulder protect thee." And just as sudden as it began, it stoped. No more winds holwing and no more bright lights burning through her eye lids. And above his head, tilted at an angle, stood something she hadnt seen in 17 years. A white, almost transperent circle with twin crescents in it.
A Halo. And then a voice only she and him could hear. "UNDER THESE SKIES, YOU ALONE WILL BE THE HALOED ONE." The eyes of the two met, utter confusion in both. But what took his attention away was his partner looking extremely winded. Later while waling in the direction Pyrrha insister was north, the red haloed woman tried to pat his back, and her hand felt purchase to both their shock. She immediately tried to interact with other objects around them and sadly they were as incorporeal as before. This made her think and lose herself in thought up until she felt herself be thrown through space suddenly and jerky meaning that her ward was too moving very fast, through space. And while he was nimble and endurant, he wasn't a fast runner.
The knights flight stopped when he crashed face first into a tree by the edge of a clearing. Only to lift himself and dust himself up.
"Aura is one hell of a drug. I can shrug off so much!"
"Don't forget the halo, it will protect you. As much as it can, but remember this Jaune, you arent invincible." Hasumi's voice grounding him again.
"Shes falling!" a dispasionate voice stated, and indeed from above was Weiss Schnee falling from a nevermore. And despite her dislike for him he ran up to catch and cushion her fall. As she got up from him, there wasn't so much as a thanks, just a "My hero.".
Yup his stacked angel was right, damn it. And when he aproached the group he noticed the pedestalls with chess pieces, some of them missing. Taking a rook and a look around he was greeted by his partners form breaking from the treeline. And soon behind her with the trees came out the giant scorpion that had lobbed him earlier. It sure was convenient for the throw to get him here. Anyways gift horses and mouths and all that, but that wouldn't matter currently
"Great the gangs all here. Now we can all die together!" the cheery voice of Rubys sister didn't help it at all.
"Not if I can do anything about it!" dear gods Ruby with the sniper scythe was bumrushing the heavily armored grimm. Not paying any attention to the avian monster turning around for another strafing run above them all. And when deathstalker just swatted the red caped huntress in training, after her blad just bounced from its armor. The screech reminded them all of the second adversary up above. Spear like quils rained from the sky, one of the pinning Rubys cape preventing any escape.
And just as the stinger now the aproaching deathstalker was priming for a strike. In this point in time theres nothing more the knight wished than being able to help from range. And something clicked. The world refocused, in his hands was a long old timey bolt action rifle, along its black body stood golden and white ornaments. As if second nature he crouched down and aimed down the iron sights. The stance and the shot came to him naturaly, as if he had done it his whole life. It was exhilarating, as if for the first time he was trully alive. Looking around to look for the one constant pressence in his life, he couldn't find her. And just as fast as it had come it was over. Panic had settled in, and the rifle was nowhere to be seen, breathing quickening, his eyes scanned around him until he heard her again.
"My form has gotten sloppy." The voice calmed him down, everything seemed right with the world once again.
"Please don't dissapear like that Hasumi, I panicked ." He whispered uncaring if his fellow initiates noticed him.
"Silly boy, I cant dissapear. It was strange as I was looking through your eyes. A beautiful first shot with Impalement, my little ranger." A hand on his head ruffing his hair. The unexpected form of endearment and the caring voice had his heart melt. It reminded him of his mother that time he brought multiple As one time. But focusing on the now was what mattered. They had grouped up in the old temple again.
"We need to move away! We cant fight them at the same time!" Weiss said.
"Run to fight another day. We can get behind that" everyone was looking at him, it made him uncomfortable but a screech from above and the sound of shattering ice stopped them from furthering the topic.
Up on the cliff overlooking the emerald forest the heads of the academy were looking through one of the cameras what the big group of trainees were doing.
"Ozpin i still say we need to get Bart to intervene." The blonde woman said to the green clad man.
"Have faith Glymda. Our initiates may yet surprise us." Taking a sip before continuing. "Mr Arc looked different for a bit earlier. Would you mind if I zoom in on him in those momments?"
"Don't you want to oversee the rest of initiation, instead of checking up on some kid's semblance?" There was an obvious irritation in the vice headmistress`s voice, which turned into exasperation with the older man`s chuckle.
"That's why I have you and the others, such as miss Greene who is skulking around here. I just know it." After saying this, Ozpin focussed on the scroll in his hands. And it showed slowed down and zoomed in on what had happened a minute ago at the temple. Mister Arc had seemed distorted for a second, before the ring behind his head changed shapes and colors. Gone was the white and transparent, in its place was red and solid. Gone were the Arcs family emblem, replaced by four red sharp daggers on a star shaped circle with a four-pointed star in the middle. Then the boy kneeled, aiming with a Great war era rifle. He for sure knew that the young man had no such weapon on him. There were also changes in atire. For those seconds gone were the chest piece and the jeans, instead of them a uniform, split to the knee, otherwise not too dissimilar in composition to those worn in the navy. Black and red instead of white and blue. And the momment the shot fired hit one of the deathstalkers eyes, the young mans concentration dropped and it was all back to normal. How curious, semblances that allowed their user to manifest weapons werent unheard of, not common but not something entirely new.
Looking back at the present feed, he could see miss Rose decapitating the giant nevermore from earlier, while landing some kilometers away from them, up on the cliff. So things were getting wrapped up.
"Ann please pick miss Rose up, Glynda lets head inside. Seems like nothing else of interest is going to happen."
Going to bed the leader of team JNPR, couldn't help but be excited for the next day. Today might have been insane, and the newfound ability of his to interact with Hasumi, in a phisical more tangible ways, proved her to be more than just a piece of his immagination. He would never admit it to her, or anybody else for the fact but he always had the suspicion she wasn't real, that he was insane and the tall angel was a piece of his immagination. The relief that feeling her touch brought to his mind was unreal. It had grounded him when he was hyperventilating.
Being apointed as the leader of his team, scared him. He wasn't ready for the responsibility, but the headmaster probably knew something he didn't. And with these changes to his world he went to the land of dreams.
Something wasn't right. He was on an empty train. Then a sound, a wet cough making him look straight ahead. There was a woman not much older than him. Above her head a halo like that only Hasumi had above her head, a small trail of blood flowing from between her lips. The womans hair was two toned a mixture between skyblue and white. Just like her hair, the halo was two toned, half red and half white a diamond shape in the middle, leaning slightly to the right above her head.
"Please help them… No. You arent him, who are you?" her voice relayed a sense of suspicion and authority.
"Jaune Arc."
"Where are you from? Will you save Kivotos and its citizens?" the question had zeal in it.
"Where on Remnant is Kivotos?" the conversation moved on with a short description of what remnant was.
"The first Halo of another world. And the girl Hasumi you mentioned, I knew of her… You Jaune Arc will be the next Tower, a new Sanctum to gather those that I couldn't help. Many more will likely come to you, try to help them, for they may be how you will reach salvation." And with that vague statement, the world around them started to break apart.
The next day - his first day of class, started as all other days – a light stretching and a jog. By the time he was back the others were already up and getting dressed. A shower and breakfast later, where his worlds foundation were shaken. Hasumi bit his pancake, while he was holding it on his fork. Then when she tried to touch the ones on his plate she fazed throught them, making her pout.
"Jaune! I want, no I demand you feed me your pancakes! It has been 17 years since I last had anything sweet! I was right! I can interact with things if you arent already interacting them! Now! Pancakes!" her voice was desperate the voice of woman possessed. Like an addict whos been sober for way too long, but have lost the good fight. He touched the pancake stack and in manner of seconds, the otherwise classy angel devoured the pancakes.
The grimm studies class nearly put him to sleed. The end of it had them oversee Weiss Schnee fight a boarbatusk. The fight was… messy for lack of a better word.
The herbology class was taught by a short woman suntanned and with the slightly pink hair the color of peach and while interesting it was mainly theoretical. Hasumi seemed to be captivated by it though, who knew she was interested in plants and teas. Well you leaned something new every day.
To the invincible girl her leader was a curiousity. Oh they had talked for a bit about themselves last night. She had noticed some oddities. The way he used Royal we in the temple, the rifle he shot the previous day, despite not carrying one with him the previous day. After awakening his aura, the circle above his head had apeared. She had heard him whisper to himself. And him not knowing her for name was just the cherry on the top of him being a tasty and misterious dessert. And on the topic of desserts, she was currently observing him vapourise and obliterate desserts. No she didn't mean he put them in his mouth, he just touched them and they disapeared. Truly a mystery for the ages!
"Fearless leader, why are you vaporising deserts?" Nora bless her heart had asked the question the crimson spartan was too embarassed to ask.
"What?" the blonde man was acting surprised, who knows maybe that was his semblance?
"Me and Nora have been watching you for five minutes now, how you spend 10 minutes of nothing but vapourising deserts." This got all of them to atleast crack a smile.
"I don't know if I can talk about it here." So they might get their answers later in their room. This got them all to nod. This team might be all that she needs for the foreseeable future. She may have known them for less than a day, but there was an odd sense of camaraderie. Is this how schoollife could be when you arent put on a pedestal? She could get used to this.
"There arent any other classes today, so lets head back to our room, or try to explore the school?"
While they were exiting the cafeteria a broad shouldered ginger boy in their class, tried to bump accidentaly into them, only for most of them to evade it, except for Jaune, who took the brunt of it, and nearly fell over.
"What an ass!" she could hear him whisper followed by."no I will be fine, don't worry."
When they eventually got to their room, it seemed that cards had to be put on the table.
"Its hard for me to talk about it." Breathing deeply in. "And what I say cant exit this room." When he got their nods he continued. "Theres a person that only I can see. Ive always been able to see her."
"Did she thaught you how to vaporise desserts?" Nora asked directly.
"Her name is Hasumi…" a bunch of quiet whispering "And she wanted to taste the desserts. Up until yesterday when I got my aura unlocked, she couldn't touch anything phisical. That includes eating, so when she finally could interact with things and uhhhh 17 years without anything sweet, got her hungry."
"Is she here with us? How does she look like? What is her favourite dessert?" Nora was asking questions
"Yes, always around me. Almost as tall as me, she has a red halo and wears a black and red sailor uniform. And has big feathery wings." Some whispering. "She carries a rifle. And she says nothing beats a good parfait."
Pyrrha knew she had to ask now, so that things could explain themselves in due time.
"Is it the old black and gold single shot bolt action rifle I saw you shoot yesterday." This seemed to get his attention.
"Yes I wanted to help, but since I have no long rangei couldn't. And then it just was there, and as if the whole world came into focus. She says she could see through my eyes, as if we had become one" This caught her attention there was one way to explain it.
"Jaune, I think that might be your semblance? Shooting well a weapon you are first time using. And you becoming one? Maybe it was like a possession or swapping places?"
"My semblance huh. Well I guess I need to have one." Some more whispering. "Since I am alreadu doing big reveals. Hasumi tells me that I have to ocme clean. I barely have any training. Pyrrha unlocked my aura yesterday. And I would need your help, to become stronger. I cant always rely on my angel to help me." She felt a pang of jealosy to this angel of his, but there was nothing she could say.
"I will help you Jaune."she reached her hand forwards.
"You must be fearless, to come in here barely trained. From now on, you will be our Fearless leader!" Nora put hand on her own.
"I appreciate the honesty. If you had gotten Nora hurt I would have hated you for it. Coming clean as soon as possible and asking for help." Lie Ren put his hand on theirs.
"I am incredibly thankfull for you being so accepting. Can I go out for a momment?" after their nods still slightly teary, Jaune exitec the room, nearly bumping into a distraught Ruby.
It was combat class two days later, when the next one came. The blonde teacher had just called him and one other to the ring, the ginger that bumped into him in the cafeteria.
"Are you both ready?" the teacher asked them. Unfurling his shield and taking a simple stance he nodded. "Then begin."
The other boy was on him hammering blows onto his shield pushing him back and towards the edges of the ring. Helplessness and weakness, that how he felt, unable to retaliate. And the next blow to his shield somehow exploded. The dust clouded around them while he was pushed back by the force of the explosion. He hated it, hated it so much that the world seemed to change colors, taking a blood red hue.
Things were looking bad for their leader in the arena, he was being overwhelmed by the larger mace wielder. The last blow seemed to activate a dust crystal in the head of the mace, causing explosion and dust cloud to form. Then she heard it. From the inside of the ring.
"GYAAH! KRYAAAH!" shrieks and a series of gunshots. Neither of the combatants came out carrying a gun, meaning it was Hasumi who had taken the reins? But that didn't sound like how Jaune had described.
The dust cloud had cleared, their team leader stood at the rings edge but it seemed something had changed about the blonde. His hair was longer and wild, black. The gold was interwoven with black. The circle behind his head had changed drasticly. It was red, and seemed to be constantly dripping blood. The chestpiece he wore was replaced with a black and red sailor shirt, untied ribbon and some sort of spiky choker. The jeans were somehow more tattered, and with blood splotchest around his knees. The finish to the ansamble were twin sawed-off shotguns in red and black, with a rather pointy metal stock.
"Daamn how did vomit boy change his clothes in the middle of the spar?" asked the blonde from their sisters team.
"And where are his weapons? Why are his shotguns following my color scheme? Is he trying to tell me something?" At the last bit everyone stared at her. Pyrrha would never admit to staring with intensity. No siree. They quickly went to look back to the arena.
Jaune Arc was behaving very unlike himself, when the blonde aproached his opponent. A slithly too long tongue came out of his mouths twisted smile. When the ginger swung his mace, with jerky but swift movements the shotgun wielder bent at the waist, before a shotgun barrel came to the armored teens chin. A click and the world seem to spin as he was for just a second lifted from the ground. Then a second click and a pain spread along his upper body. And laughter, sick laughter. Another shot this time to the arm and the mace was dropped. And then their leader was a top his opponent shooting the second shotgun, before throwing it aside. While the larger boy was still dazed, now with only one shotgun, the leader of team JNPR, started to bludgeon his opponent, with the metal stock untill the alarm buzzed, and was lifted in the air by a purple glow.
"Who knew vomit boy had it in him!" whistled the blonde bralwer of team RWBY.
"Jaune Arc wins by aura depletion. I would suggest not holding back on your opponents, as well as working on your self control…"
"Gyaaah!" was the only response the teacher got before motes of light fell around the still levitated teen, and his equipment returned back to what he had enter the arena with. In the place of the shotguns stood a shield and a thrown aside sword.
"… as I said your self control. If I hadnt removed you, you would probably continue hitting him until after his aura has broken. Team CRDL Please bring your leader to the infirmary! Next Ruby Rose and Lie Ren."
In the lockers he whisper shouted to the one person only he could see.
"What was that? Who was that?" there was a panic in his voice.
"This wasn't me Jaune. Her name is Kanzaki Tsurugi. She is/was a friend of mine. Loyal to her friends, but very violent in a fight." The angel seemed worried about him which eased his mind untill they both sensed a new presence.
"Kyah! Gah! Hasumi! Why are we in a … GAH… the boys locker room." The figure that spoke wore a shirt bearing some similarity to the angel he grew up with. A bloody tattered skirt, black combat boots and its wings looked shaggy and dirty. "We will uhhhh go outside, don't worry about it". Before grabbing the taller woman and pretty much dragged her outside of the locker room.
I cooked this up because I wondered which BA characters would be a good influence on Jaune while making their interactions interesting. My mind immediately went for the Big sister like characters – Hasumi, Yuuka, Akane and Asuna.
I dropped yuuka because they both have thicc thighs, but I doubt she would want him to be a huntsman.
Asuna and Akane because I don't know enough about them, which left me with Hasumi.
