After months of meticulous planning, Hiccup has finally devised a foolproof strategy to take down Viggo and retrieve the Dragon Eye. Accompanied by their trusted Berk allies, a select few members of the Wingmaidens - under the leadership of Atali - and the recently reunited Dagur, the team is gearing up to launch a full-scale assault on Viggo's base. With all hands on deck and each member fully committed to the mission, they are poised to strike a decisive blow against their enemy and emerge victorious.
"Everyone ready?" Hiccup asked, looking at the Dragon Riders.
Astrid nodded.
"We're ready to finish this," Anna called out.
"Ready as we'll ever be," Dak added.
"Same here." Leyla proclaimed.
"Berserkers?" Hiccup asked, looking at Heather and Dagur.
Dagur laughed.
"You know it," Heather said.
Then Hiccup looked at Toothless and Luna. "What do you think, guys?"
Luna and Toothless roared with enthusiasm. 'Like you need to ask.' Toothless warbled.
"You understand them now?" Elsa asks her brother.
Hiccup shrugged. "I'm getting the general idea. I only really understood 'need' and 'ask.'"
"I thought Toothless didn't talk," Astrid stated.
"Hard to explain." Hiccup said.
Elsa chuckled and saw that the lessons with her sister were paying off for Hiccup to understand dragon. "Dragon Riders, let's ride!"
They then flew down towards the island as they began making their attack run. The plan was simple: get in and get out without getting too much attention.
Windshear took down the men onboard with ease and in silence, with help from Atali. The hunters kept a lookout on board their ships, but one of them managed to reach the edge without realizing that Heather and Windshear were watching him. Before he could react, Heather grabbed the hem of his tunic and pulled him overboard.
The other Hunter on the ship noticed that he was gone and went to investigate, but before he could, Atali flew out of nowhere and wrapped her arms around him. She then backrolled off the boat as the baby Razorwhip spread its wings to catch her, but it dropped the Hunter into the ocean instead.
The Hunters were now aware of their presence, but it was far too late as Snotlout and Hookfang landed in front of them.
"Hello!" Snotlout waved and Hookfang ignited.
The Hunters immediately ran away screaming, but Fishlegs appeared in front of them on top of Meatlug.
"And now, it's time to introduce the band. I'm Fishlegs. And on tail bludgeon, we Meatlug." Fishlegs said.
Meatlug then began spinning around and smacked her tail right into the five Hunters knocking him out cold. More hunters showed up, but they were then sprayed off the cliff by Summer, who was still carrying Leyla. Summer then landed with the young girl smirking.
"Hope you have a good swim!" Leyla cried.
Dagur was actually on the island setting a net trap.
"I guess the trapper's trap can trap the trapper," Dagur said to himself. He then turned around to find a Hunter directly behind him with his sword raised and looking at him quite calmly. "Hello? Have you met my sister? The Berserker Dragon Rider?" he asked.
Heather waved as Windshear's tail wrapped around the hunter and lifted him into the air. "Hi!"
"I promise you; she lives up to the name," said Dagur.
Heather then dumped him into the ocean. "See ya," Heather said, flying back.
The Thorston twins were flying through the caves unleashing gas upon quitting hunters that were patrolling the area.
"One for the gold, two for the show…" Tuffnut said.
"Three to get Barf and Belch ready, and four to blow!" Ruffnut yelled.
Belch then ignited the gas explosions down the tunnels and scattered the Hunters across the island.
Ryker drew his sword to see what was going on and then saw a familiar silhouette of the Light Fury flying so dune. Elsa came flying as she shot a plasma blast and an ice blast to corner Ryker. She remembered everything that this monster had done to her original home of Arendelle. He had burned it to the ground. He had killed her parents. She was going to enjoy this.
"Ryker! Nice to see you again." Elsa said, narrowing her eyes.
"The Snow Witch." Ryker chuckled menacingly, but the next second he was smacked by an invisible force and smashed into the wall.
Ryker tried to pull away from whatever invisible force was holding him down. But it was revealed that it was Anna on the back of Echo who had done it to him.
"Even if it's just a moment," Anna said.
Hiccup then came down and landed next to his sister. They approached the tent, knowing that everything was going according to plan.
"He's all yours," Echo told her rider.
Anna dismounted Echo and headed to where Hiccup and her sister were standing. They all had lost just as much in this war as each other. The three of them then approached Viggo's tent, which Astrid and Snotlout were guarding. As they approached, they found that they had caught Viggo completely off-guard, and he went for his weapons; however, Elsa shot his desk with ice, ensuring that any means of a backup escape was cut off in seconds.
Hiccup then quickly grabbed the Dragon Eye that was on his desk before Viggo had a chance to grab it himself; meanwhile, Elsa created a spear of ice and aimed it at Viggo's neck, while Anna did the same with her own spear, which she had made of Gronckle iron.
Hiccup said clutching the Eye. "We'll take it."
"Game over," said Elsa smugly.
"You lost." Anna finished.
"Really? 'We'll take that?'" Tuffnut asked.
As it turned out, the entire event had been nothing more than Hiccup and Elsa explaining their plan to reclaim the Dragon Eye and defeat the Hunters to the others. They were at Berk, inside the Great Hall, not wanting to risk any of Viggo's spies learning of their plans.
"Seriously, that's the best you can come up with, Hiccup?" Tuffnut asked, shaking his head in disappointment.
"At least your sister and her sister finished with a better line. I man, 'game over' and 'you lost'. That's perfect." Ruffnut congratulated Elsa and Anna.
"Even when they compliment you, it feels off." Anna wasn't sure how to take the compliment.
"This is your big moment, H. Books will be written about it. Children will act it out. Some adults will try to act it out, but it won't be as cute as the children." Tuffnut continued to go on. "You need a killer catchphrase. One line that will withstand the test of time. As the sand and ocean pass, your words will remain. I mean, you just defeated one of the most tough, ruthless villains in the world."
"Who let's face it, everyone thought was way smarter than you," said Ruffnut.
"Really? Everyone?" Hiccup asked.
Elsa said with a raised eyebrow, "Are you serious?"
"Well, you know, there's no hard data, but if you had to guess…" Tuffnut said.
"Okay, I'll work on something cool to say to him when I take him down." Hiccup said. "Are you happy now?"
"Uh, uh, uh," Tuffnut said, wiggling his finger and getting up from his seat. "Au contraire, my brother. We will work on something better for you to say to him when we take him down. Trust us, we've got it." He then turned to Ruffnut and they both walked away. "It should be something with a growl, and, I mean, like..." He growled.
Elsa rubbed her head as she couldn't wait for it all to be over. They'd all be able to go back to their separate lives once this was over. "Dragon Riders, be ready for tonight!" She announced as the others got up to get ready to start their attack.
Once everything was finally sorted out, everyone went their separate ways. They were going to finally begin to prepare to finish off the Dragon Hunters once and for all that night. After everything they had been through, this would be the last time they encountered the Dragon Hunters. Hiccup was walking down the steps and had just separated from Elsa when Heather approached him.
"It sounds like it went well," Heather said as she pecked his cheek. "Sorry that I couldn't make it."
"Hey, you were making sure that everything was set for tonight." Hiccup assured her. "Was there something else going down?"
"Well, I had a nice conversation with Astrid," Heather said with a smile, noticing the confused look on Hiccup's face. "I'll explain it later."
"Okay, I guess." Hiccup shrugged it off for now. There were other things he needed to figure out. "Is everything ready for tonight?"
"Yep," Heather assured him. "We're all set." She then wondered something. "So, what really happens after this thing with Viggo is over?"
"I guess we will have finished training the Riders, and they would have no reason to stay on the Edge anymore." Hiccup shrugged. "They'll come back to Berk, and we will return to the Edge."
"Is that what you want?" Heather wonders.
"Well, it's not like we have much choice." Hiccup reminded her. "Technically speaking, I'm still outcasted from Berk. They only need me here to use me." Heather hummed and walked away, leaving Hiccup a little confused. "That was odd."
Elsa walked up to him and passed Heather on the way. "What was that about?"
"I have no idea." Hiccup admitted.
"Everything alright between you guys?" Elsa questioned.
"Yeah, everything's great. From what I can guess." Hiccup wasn't entirely sure anymore. "Ever since Astrid came back to the Edge, Heather has been acting weird. She talks about Berk. And she questions my thoughts about our life on the Edge."
Elsa hummed to herself and was just as confused as her brother. "I'm sure it's nothing. Let's just focus on tonight."
"Yeah, we can discuss it later." Hiccup agreed.
This time, it was time to end the Dragon Hunter's for good.
As the moon rose high in the sky, a group of determined individuals were stealthily making their way toward Viggo's base, their hearts beating faster with each step. They were all set to confront and defeat the notorious leader of the Dragon Hunters, who had caused them so much trouble in the past. Amid the group, the Thorston twins approached Hiccup, their eyes glittering with fierce determination.
"Okay, we've given that a lot of thought, and here's what we have so far," said Ruffnut.
Then they twisted their dragons' necks so Tuffnut was facing him. "'Is that ax in your face, or are you just happy to see me?'" he quoted. Hiccup just stared at him. "No? Okay, not a problem."
Ruffnut then switched positions. "Viggo, this is gonna hurt me a lot more than it's gonna hurt you!" she said next.
Hiccup and Toothless were both starting to get annoyed now.
After a brief silence, Tuffnut then switched positions once more. "'Good night, and good luck!" he said. Then he frowned. "Wait, wait. No, no, no.'"
"Given a rest, will you?" Snotlout asked.
"Yeah, I really don't think we need to make some big final statement," said Elsa. "I mean, saying 'game over' was just sort of a...mockery, if anything."
"We didn't say you two were involved in this, Snotlout and Elsa," Tuffnut said.
"Although, that line's not half bad," Ruffnut said. "Give it a rest, will you, Viggo?"
"Oh, for the love of…" Hiccup moaned. He cleared his throat and continued. "Riders, ready? Just like we practiced!"
They all then went their separate ways to follow the plan, but something funny happened. When Heather and Atali made it to the ship, they discovered that every single ship had been destroyed.
"What's all this?" Atali asked, noticing Heather shrugging.
Dak and Leyla discovered that the catapults and traps had also already been destroyed. "What's going on?" She frowned.
They had completely combed the entire island and found no sign of any Hunters. The Thorston twins had just emerged from the tunnels, also empty-handed.
"Ugh! What a rip-off." Snotlout moaned.
Anna asked, "Where is everyone?" as she rubbed her head.
"Oh, looks like someone beat us to it," said Fishlegs.
"The question is who?" said Elsa.
The Haddock siblings and Anna soon landed and then made their way towards Viggo's tent to find the place had been completely ransacked, and there was no trace of Viggo or the Dragon Eye. Months of planning, practicing, and preparing had gone right down the drain. Hiccup looked at the desk where a Maces and Talons game board lay on it.
"Oh, Thor!" Hiccup exclaimed as he kicked the table in a fit of rage. "What's it going to take to catch this guy!?"
Elsa shouted, "He just keeps playing the vanishing game every time we come up with a plan!" As she kicked a chair across the tent.
Then one of the pieces from the game board landed on the rug, and the three of them heard a hollowed sound. Looking at one another, they bent down and searched the ground for some sort of a hidden tunnel. Hiccup pulled the rug away to reveal a wooden door and opened it up to reveal a hole. There, to their utter bewilderment, was Viggo battered and bruised, cradling himself within the hole.
"Well, well." A large grin appeared on Anna's face when she saw that Viggo was still there.
"I never imagined that these words would come out of my mouth, but, my dear Hiccup, Elsa and Anna. I am overjoyed to see you three." Viggo said as the three of them looked down at him in surprise.
They brought everyone inside before using Echo's tail to pull Viggo out of the hole and started waiting for answers. They had their dragons waiting outside because none of them liked Viggo for obvious reasons. Dak and Leyla were keeping an eye on the dragons while the adults talked to Viggo.
"What happened here? Viggo, where's the Dragon Eye?" Hiccup asks him.
"Ryker has lost all sense of reason. He is now on his own, and unfortunately, he has swayed the soft minds of the Dragon Hunters." Viggo informs them all that his brother has turned them against their leader.
"And that, right there, is why I'd rather have a sister any day of the week," Tuffnut says.
"Uh-huh," Ruffnut says and raises her hand.
"Not you, obviously, but a different sis," Tuffnut informs her, upsetting Ruffnut.
Dak turned towards Leyla. "Makes me appreciate you a lot more."
Leyla crossed her arms with a grin. "As it should."
"Ryker's plan, as simple-minded as it is, is to wipe out the Dragon Riders and all of your allies," Viggo warns Hiccup.
"Yeah, how is that different from every other monstrous foe we've ever faced?" Elsa asks.
"The difference, my dear, is Project Shell Fire," Viggo informs them. He even looked over to Ruff and Tuff who infiltrated his base. "You two remember that, don't you?"
Ruffnut then came closer to him. "Just remember, if Viggo, you go!"
"That's right! Today is your day to burn, and we are the torch with the fire that burns!" Tuffnut said as he approached Viggo.
Viggo was at a loss as to what had just happened; he eyed the others. "I'm sorry, but did I miss something?"
Elsa sighed, rubbing her forehead in annoyance to the twins. "Ignore them."
"What is Project Shell Fire? We know it is a kind of weapon. Is it a boat? A dragon?" Hiccup asks him.
"In due time, I will divulge all. Project Shell Fire, the location of the Dragon Eye. But only if you help me stop my brother and send me on my way." Viggo bargains.
"Yak dung!" Snotlout coughs. "Sorry, I had something lying in my throat."
"Snotlout is right, Hiccup. We shouldn't trust Viggo as far as we can throw him." Fishlegs agrees.
"Agreed." Viggo also agrees. "Trusting me is, shall we say a stretch? Therefore, as a show of good faith, I will tell you where and when my brother will strike next. Give you time to save some of our allies, which he systematically intends to destroy. The next attack will be on the Wingmaiden's."
Alia suddenly became nervous when she heard that her people might be in danger.
"This will be followed by Berserker Island." Viggo continued listing them off. "Then he will go after his ultimate prize."
"Ultimate prize?" Anna asks. "What's that?"
"Didn't you consider what it was you managed to unlock for us?" Viggo asked, eyeing Elsa, reminding her of when they used her mist as a means to open the Dragon Eye. "You gave him the key to locate what I've been after for years."
"I don't like the sound of that." Astrid mutterd.
"And you're not going to divulge what that is, are you?" Hiccup took a guess.
"All in due time," Viggo promises. "While Ryker is no tactical genius, he still manages to hold some things close to the vest."
Hiccup considered the idea as everyone left the hut to discuss it in private. Their options were limited, and now with this new threat of whatever Elsa revealed to them could mean more trouble for them down the line.
"Time is of the essence, Hiccup. It is the ability to make expeditious decisions that saves lives." Viggo says as Hiccup leaves.
Astrid said, "There's no way we're believing one word this guy says."
Heather said, "But we can't just ignore it."
"Heather's right. There are too many lives at stake." Hiccup agrees with her.
"I will return to my people," Alita told them. "They must be warned of the upcoming fight."
"Yes, go," said Hiccup. "Dagur, warn Berserker Island."
"On it," Dagur said as he ran to Shattermaster. "Come on, boy!"
"And what do we do about Viggo?" Leyla asked.
Hiccup said, "I guess he's coming with us." He was sorry to admit it. There was no other way. "But I need you and your brother to go back to the Edge and get ready in case we fail to stop him."
"Yeah, well hold down the fort!" Dak said with pride as he mounted his dragon. "Let's go, sis!"
Leyla nodded and ran to Summer as they took off towards the Edge. Hiccup really just wanted to make sure they were safe and wouldn't be in harm's way. At least for the moment. The Edge was in danger if they didn't stop Ryker. If what Viggo was saying was true.
The Dragon Riders made their way to the Wingmaidens island first. They were one of their oldest allies, and they were also the closest ones to the Dragon Hunter base island. When they arrived, they were prepared to be on the defensive, as everyone was well aware of Viggo and what he had been doing to dragons while fighting Hiccup and Elsa.
"I will have my best warriors guard him," Alita says to Hiccup as Viggo is escorted to a cell. "I don't want to take any chances with him trying anything on my island."
"It's okay; I don't trust him either," Hiccup assured her.
"But if what he says is true, you could be in grave danger," Heather commented, wanting to protect her home.
As Hiccup and Heather were discussing their plan of action, their conversation was abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of several blue fireballs, which were shot toward their location on the island. Without wasting any time, Hiccup immediately sprang into action and ran for cover, with Heather following closely behind him. Anna, who was nearby, instinctively ran toward Echo, seeking refuge under her wings as protection from the menacing fireballs.
Meanwhile, Fishlegs, who had been visibly shaken by the sudden attack, hurried over to Meatlug, seeking solace and cover from the looming danger. Elsa, on the other hand, took a more defensive stance as she began shooting ice into the sky to blast the fireballs raining down from above.
"Protect the hatchlings!" Atali called forth as her warriors flew off to protect the nest of the baby dragons and mothers.
"You see, Hiccup?!" Viggo cried from inside his cell. "Believe me now?"
Hiccup wasn't convinced yet. This could all just be an elaborate plot by Viggo. "Not even remotely. Atali, you and your girls keep Viggo locked down." Atali nodded as she flew and tried to avoid the heavy fire. "We're going to fly into the attack and find the source."
They quickly mounted their dragons and flew off to try and locate where the attack was coming from. The closer they got to the fire, they were trying to constantly avoid getting shot down. The fire was becoming more frequent and hard to avoid the closer that they got to the source of it all.
Tuffnut was actually concerned while he ducked to avoid getting shot. "I mean, not that we're complaining about a totally awesome situation-" he tried to miss the firepower attacking. "...but, hey, Hiccup, why are we doing this?"
Hiccup was keeping his eyes on trying to find the source. "We have to find the source. The only way is to fly towards it." Then he realized he was about to get hit. "Ah!"
"Hiccup, you alright?" Heather asks in concern.
Hiccup nodded as he shook it off. "Yeah, I'm okay." He stayed focused and kept moving forward. "No matter what!" Then he looked and saw that the firepower was coming from a sea stack in the ocean. Surrounded by two other Dragon Hunter ships. "There. Down there."
"Behind the sea stack!" Elsa cried.
Hiccup looked at Elsa and knew they had the two fastest dragons. "Cover us!"
As they flew in at top speed, they showed the ship once before going in to check the sea stack. Astrid led Fishlegs and Snotlout as they flew in and scorched the top of the Dragon Hunter ship. Anna then flew in she used Echo to sonic scream the hunter's ship and send them flying. But when the two of them managed to circle the sea stack, they were left shocked to see that there was nothing there.
"Nothing?" Elsa was confused.
"There's nothing here." Hiccup confirmed in confusion.
When they made it back to the island, things only got worse. When they made it back to try and question Viggo, they learned he had escaped during the chaos that was being caused due to the fact his guards were busy protecting the hatchlings.
"He escaped?" Astrid asks in shock.
"The explosions allowed him to slip away." Nadia sounded ashamed of what occurred. "I have failed you."
"You sure did, Nadia," Snotlout tells her with a smug smile as he leans on a tree. "Hey, I would be looking for a new gig, if I were you. Or a new head!"
Hiccup groaned as he felt he had just fallen for another trick. "I can't believe I fell for it. What was I thinking?"
Snotlout nodded as he agreed. "Now, there's a good question. I personally wouldn't have done..."
Elsa shot an ice pick at him Snotlout, silencing him instantly. "Snotlout...don't!"
Hiccup calmed his sister down. "No, no, no. It's all right." He then tried to figure out their next move. "Umm, we can't focus on Viggo right now anyway." He knew there was more dangerous things to worry about right now. "We need to get back to the Edge. We don't know where the next attack will happen. Of course, you and your tribe are welcome to come with us."
"No, we will stand and defend our home." Nadia politely declined the invitation.
Hiccup nodded as he should have figured that was going to be her answer. Heather mounted Windshear as Toothless approached Hiccup, knowing that they were going home.
"What's the plan now?" Toothless asks Hiccup.
"I'm not exactly sure yet, Bud." Hiccup admitted as he flew towards the Edge.
Hiccup and Heather were in Hiccup's hut together and studying a large map of the archipelago. They were deep in thought, trying to figure out where Ryker, their fierce enemy, would launch his next attack. They were already aware that he had gone after the Wingmaidens, so they knew they had to be prepared for anything.
Elsa was using her ice powers to create strong barriers around the Edge to protect them from any potential attacks. However, they knew that they were dealing with a serious threat with Project Shellfire, which could potentially cause a great deal of damage if they didn't stop it. Therefore, they needed to come up with a solid plan to counter Ryker's moves and put a stop to Project Shellfire before it was too late.
Hiccup sighed as he couldn't figure it out. "The problem is, we've been thinking like Viggo. We have to start thinking like Ryker."
Heather scoffed when she heard that. "Good luck with that." She then eyed Hiccup. "Hey, sorry if I have been acting weird recently."
"You overheard me and Elsa, huh?" Hiccup guessed.
"A little." Heather shrugged. "Listen, I'll explain a bit more later, but Astrid has been talking to the council on Berk about lifting the banishment."
"Really?" Hiccup was surprised to hear.
"Yeah, I might have had something to do with that." Heather blushed when she remembered the harsh words she shared with Astrid when Hiccup was sick. "She has been talking about maybe reinstating you as Berk's heir."
"What?" Hiccup asks in shock. "So, we would go back to Berk?"
"Well, we would have the choice," Heather explains.
Tuffnut and Ruffnut then barged into the room, scaring the two of them. "Looks like she's got the mace, and I've got the talons. So, Viggo, it's game over. And we haven't even..."
"Tuffnut!" Heather and Hiccup cried in anger.
Tuffnut sighed when he heard them. "Yeah, you're right. I would have the mace, you know, not her." He pointed towards Ruffnut. "Everyone knows I'm a mace man. Guilty as charged, mace man at heart. He then strolled out with Ruffnut behind him. "Good lookin' out, H."
Hiccup sighed as Heather laughed. "Okay, uh, that's awful." He commented before turning back to the map. "Alright, let's assume that Viggo is telling the truth, if you're Ryker, which ally do you hit next?
Then they both looked at the map and knew the next island on the map would likely be the next location. They both pointed towards Berserker Island. That had to be where he was going next.
A group of riders had set up their campsite outside of Berserker Island, eager to protect the island from any potential threats that might attempt to pass through the channel. They had brought with them their trusty weapons, ready to defend the island at all costs. As they waited through the night, the riders grew increasingly tired, their eyes heavy with exhaustion. The quiet of the night was only broken by the occasional rustle of leaves or the soft whispers of the riders as they took turns keeping watch. As the sun began to set, the riders remained vigilant, waiting for any sign of danger that might require their attention.
"How long are we gonna wait?" Leyla wonders.
"I am starting to get a little tired myself." Dak agreed.
Hiccup nodded and saw it was starting to get late. "You guys head for Berserker Island for some rest. We'll stick around for something to happen."
"I hope it happens soon." Elsa yawned as she lay on Luna's head.
"Hey, H, which do you like more?" Tuffnut asks.
"My name is Hiccup Haddock. Submit or be filleted where you stand and fed to my favorite yak." Ruffnut says. "Or..."
"Oh, you want a battle, Viggo? Well, how about I give you a war instead? It's bigger and there's more fighting!" Tuffnut offers.
"Hiccup doesn't even have a favorite yak," Heather informs them.
"Or any yak for that matter," Elsa replied.
"What about Yakitty?" Ruffnut asks.
"That's my yak, pal," Snotlout informs them with pride. "Yakkity Jorgensen."
"And we don't want a war, guys. We want to end it." Hiccup says when a hunter ship comes into view. "Look! Due south!"
"Hiccup, is that a white flag?" Heather asks and Hiccup looks through his spyglass to see it is in fact a white flag.
"Yeah...except that's not the weirdest part." Hiccup says as he sees the person waving the flag is Ryker.
They fly in and see Ryker on the ship alone and he explains what happened that Viggo betrayed him. To say that none of them believed him would be an understatement.
"Funny. That's the exact same story Viggo told us, but he said you're the one who flipped." Hiccup informs Ryker.
"Yeah? Then where is he?" Ryker asks and he's got them there. "Let me ask you this. Between Viggo and myself, who has more of an interest in you, Hiccup?"
Hiccup thinks and knows Viggo is the one who's been trying to outsmart him constantly, Ryker was just there for the business and even tried his best to avoid the Dragon Riders when he couldn't stop them.
"Exactly. It's Viggo who's lost his mind. It's Viggo who came up and built the Shell Fire. It's Viggo who wants a war. But it's Ryker who has the Dragon Eye." Ryker tells them.
"Great. Where is it?" Elsa asks, daring him to show he has it.
"Don't worry. It's safely hidden." Ryker assures them. "Think about it, if Viggo had the Shell Fire and the Dragon Eye, what would he do? He'd set you up. Which is exactly what my beloved brother is doing."
"Oh, that's great! Another lunatic dragon hunter that we can't trust." Snotlout states.
As they began to ponder what they were going to do, a sudden commotion caught their attention. The sound of fireballs being launched and people screaming filled the air. They immediately turned towards the sea, only to witness the horrifying spectacle of an ongoing attack on Berk. The sight filled them with a sense of urgency and they knew that they had to act quickly.
"We need to go!" Elsa cried as they mounted their dragons.
"You see that, Hiccup? That attack proves what I've been saying." Ryker tells Hiccup as he boarded Toothless. "Bring me Viggo, and I will give you what you want. Otherwise, I'll disappear for good, along with the Dragon Eye."
Hiccup, the Viking chief, was caught in a dilemma as he tried to make sense of the conflicting information given by the two brothers. He was unsure whom to believe if anyone at all. But he knew he couldn't waste too much time debating their claims. He had to hurry and fly off to Berk to save his town and its people.
As Hiccup and his fellow Dragon Riders neared Berk, they could see the townspeople scurrying towards their homes in a panic. The sight left them uneasy and apprehensive. It was only when they spotted the Shell Fire, the monstrous dragon, perched behind the sea stacks that they realized the cause of the chaos. The Dragon Riders knew they had to act fast to defeat the beast, but they also had to ensure the safety of the innocent townsfolk.
The situation was dire, and the Dragon Riders had to come up with a clever plan that would allow them to fight the Shell Fire without putting the lives of the people at risk. They knew that they had to act quickly and decisively, but they also had to exercise caution and not make any rash moves. The fate of the town and its inhabitants rested on their shoulders, and they were determined to rise to the occasion.
"Hiccup, staying together won't help. We need to split up." Elsa tells him.
"Good plan. You and I go, and you guys go in to save who you can and meet us back at the Edge." Hiccup tells the team the plan.
"And where are you two going?" Heather asks them.
"To find out whatever this Shell Fire is and try to stop it," Elsa says as they fly off since they have the fastest dragons.
They tried to get as close as they could, but the fireballs of the Shell Fire sprayed the sky, meaning they needed to maneuver around them with their fast speed.
"Faster, bud! We need to close the distance before it can disappear." Hiccup says as they fly ahead and see a ship.
"It looks like a normal ship," Elsa was confused when the ship rose and a giant Tidal Class dragon appeared underneath the ship.
"What is that?" Hiccup asks as they've never seen a dragon of that size or like that before. "The Shell Fire isn't a ship or a dragon..."
"It's both. He's weaponized a dragon!" Elsa said in shock and terror.
They see as they go inside the boat and the ship disappears into the water with the dragon.
"And that's why we're not able to see it or defend against it," Elsa states.
"I'm going after it." Hiccup says as he and Toothless dive and see the dragon soar through the water and they rise out of the water. "It's too fast and too deep."
"It can't stay down for long, There's Hunters under those hatches," Elsa states.
"But we don't know which direction it's headed or where it's gonna come up." Hiccup replies and tries to think. "We've gotta get back to the Edge and regroup."
After a long and tiring journey, they finally return to the Edge. As they gather around, they start to explain the terrible sight they just witnessed - a dragon like no other being used by the Hunters. The other Dragon Riders and even some of the dragons themselves are all surprised and terrified to hear this. This could change the situation on how they fight.
"A dragon?" Leyla asks in shock.
"They're using a dragon to attack people?" Cutter asks in shock.
"This is getting bad," Stormfly said in fear.
"They know that we would do anything to stop ourselves from harming a dragon." Hiccup sighed as he should have seen this coming. "If I had to guess, it was a Titan Wing. Bigger than a Submaripper. Long-range firing capabilities."
"Tidal Class dragons don't attack humans. It's not in their nature. " Leyla tells them. "We've met many of them over the years."
"Yeah, they usually keep to themselves if they can avoid other people." Anna had to agree with her. "The firepower and hard shell is more because they're known to be deep sea dragons."
"They're likely forcing the Shell Fire to do this. We know that they're not above doing that," Heather says and they need to figure out who's in charge of it: Ryker or Viggo?
"So, what's our next move?" Astrid asks them.
"I don't know." Hiccup admits as he walks around the room. "The only thing I do know is we've got to find Viggo soon or Ryker and the Dragon Eye could be gone for good."
"Good luck with that. What do you think Viggo's gonna do? Walk in here and turn himself in?" Snotlout asks him.
Hiccup sighed and knew that he needed to clear his head. "I need to clear my head."
"I'll hold things down here while you are gone. Take your time." Heather informs him as he leaves with Toothless.
Hiccup and Toothless fly to a part of the Edge where he can see his home and all the dragons. Everything that they have accomplished, and he was even wondering about what Heather said. Going back to Berk? Was that even an option? After everything they have been through, could they actually go home?
"This is a nice spot," Toothless said as he lay down.
"It's peaceful, isn't it?" Hiccup asks Toothless with a sigh as he tries to consider what to do. "I always have at least a gut feeling for something to do. But this time..."
Toothless tries comforting him. "Hey, you don't need to always know what to do every second. You always figure out what to do."
"Thanks, bud." Hiccup caressed his dragon's head. "But I am not sure about this time."
"Perhaps I can help," Viggo says and they turn to face him. "I hope you didn't think I would leave you hanging in the wind. I'm nothing if not a man of my word, Hiccup. Let me guess. Ryker told you I was the one who went rogue." Hiccup's face said it all. "I figured as much. He offered you peace and the Dragon Eye, neither of which he is either willing or able to give."
"Oh, and you are?" Hiccup asks, ready to fight him if needed.
Viggo takes a few steps closer and Toothless is ready to end him. "Don't even try it!"
"As I said, Hiccup, you help me stop my brother and I'll give you what you desire," Viggo says.
"Which is exactly what Ryker said. Word for word." Hiccup informs him.
"But he conveniently couldn't produce it, could he?" Viggo asks.
"But you can?" Hiccup asks, watching his face turn sour. "That's what I-"
Viggo reaches into the back of his belt and reveals the Dragon Eye. "Now...want to finally see what it is we were after?"
Hiccup was taken aback when he saw Viggo holding the Dragon Eye, which he had been searching for all along. He was curious to know what Viggo was after and what he planned to do with it. After returning to the hut, everyone was relieved to see Viggo back, and Hiccup. Elsa began to use the Dragon Eye and her magical ice powers to uncover what exactly the Hunters were after. As they delved deeper into the mysteries of the Dragon Eye, they discovered something that none of them had ever considered, something that could potentially change everything.
"What is that?" Elsa asks.
"It's what we believed to be the source of your powers," Viggo said as he was being held by Heather to ensure he didn't escape. "The King of Dragons."
"We saw these bones." Hiccup recognized the formation from when they found Stoick's resting place. "What is it?"
"It's the Bewilderbeast," Viggo explained to them. "Whoever controls this dragon controls them all."
"And it's underneath Arendelle," Anna said in shock.
With the knowledge of Ryker's soon-to-be whereabouts, Hiccup knew that they had a chance to strike first and gain the upper hand in the upcoming battle. He scanned the room, taking in the sight of the various dragons, the kids, baby Night Lights, even Bruni, and all of his loved ones. The weight of their mission was heavy on his mind, but he was determined to see it through to the end.
This was their chance to put an end to the Dragon Hunters once and for all, and Hiccup could feel the stakes rising as the final showdown drew closer. And there was Heather. His love... he needed to finally end this if he wanted to have a bright future for both dragons and himself with his family and love.
"Get what you need." Hiccup tells everyone. "At dawn, we fly for Arendelle. Let's end this once and for all."
Everyone seemed to be on board with that idea and prepared themselves for the last fight to come.
