Colin visits his ex-fiancee Marina, and now with conscience clear and hoping for a fresh start in his life, he returns to Aubrey Hall, only to accidentally discover Penelope's secret; she is Lady Whistledown. Sworn to secrecy, he eventually becomes her assistant, her informant, her confidant. She has after all been his friend, a dear friend. And that's what she'll always be. Right?

This story takes place after Penelope's "Stand by me, Hold me, kiss me speech" A small gesture right after this speech leads fans to believe that she is telling Colin she is pregnant. I am on of those people. This is what happens in my minds directly after.
