Penelope waved to Moira as she stepped into the gym, JJ at her side. "Good evening!" she sang out sunnily before gesturing to her friend. "This is JJ. Alex and Erin should be along in a few minutes. I'll show Jayje where we meet, if you want to wait for the others."
"Sounds good, Penelope."
She took hold of JJ's hand and led her back to their room. "You're going to love Moira, Jayje. She's funny, and goes slow enough so that Erin and I can get the positions down correctly. It might be a little slow for you, since I think you've done some yoga before, but it's the pace that I need. Especially after last night."
JJ giggled as she nodded. "Will and I had a good time last night, too." A soft blush stained her cheeks as she unrolled her yoga mat, and Penelope followed suit, making certain that she would be between her and Erin. "Did I see that you brought smoothies for us?"
"Yeah, I needed something to do with my hands during that last case. Erin seems to really like them, so I hope you and Blake do, too." She gave a small smile to her friend as she handed over a smoothie cup to JJ. Her friend took a sip as soon as it was in her hands, and Penelope watched her face carefully to see if she truly liked it or not. From the way her ears lifted, Penelope knew before JJ told her a word that the recipe was delicious to her, too.
"And how often do we get these?" JJ asked as she started to stretch.
"At least before every class. Maybe at work a few times, if you're home, and we haven't had horrible cases." JJ nodded, and Penelope sank down onto her mat as she also started to stretch her joints. She had just reached the end of her stretches when Blake and Erin walked in together, Moira at their heels. After they'd set out their yoga mats, Penelope passed them each a smoothie before turning her focus onto Moira.
"Have you two stretched already?" the instructor asked, and she nodded. "Good. We'll give Alex and Erin five minutes to do their own stretches, and then we'll get underway." As she waited for the other women to catch up, Penelope focused on relaxing, taking deep breaths as she thought about what they might accomplish during the class that evening. "Are we all set?" Moira asked five minutes later, and she glanced over to see Blake and Erin nodding. "Excellent."
Once class was underway, Penelope once again felt like she was a fish out of water, especially compared to the grace that JJ moved with. From the corner of her eye, she could see that Erin was also struggling a little with the movements, though Blake seemed to be more of a natural with things. That was a little surprising, and Penelope knew that she would have to get to the bottom of that when she had the opportunity.
Still, the class flew by, and though she was a little out of breath at the end, Penelope found that she had thoroughly enjoyed herself. As they toweled the sweat off their skin, Penelope listened to the happy chatter that Erin and Blake exchanged, and that alone made her happier, since she knew that this would bring them closer together. And if they were happier together, then they'd be more relaxed, and that in turn would mean there was a greater chance of them getting pregnant. So, really, everything was leading to her goal.
"Did any of you want to head out for coffee?" she asked as she rolled up her mat.
"I wish that I could, Garcia, but James is going to be home tonight, since he switched shifts with a colleague yesterday. Raincheck?"
"Of course!" Penelope said as she watched the older woman leave the room. That left three others, and she wondered if any of them would say yes.
"David mentioned something about testing a new dessert on my when I was done here, so I'll have to say another time, too. But this was another good class. I'm already starting to feel a little more limber, and I hope that David starts to notice, too."
JJ let out a shocked little gasp, which caused Penelope to giggle. "What? I'd rather not think about any of our team members engaging in activities that are meant to be private."
Penelope arched an eyebrow as she shook her head. "You've turned into a prude on me!" she said as she elbowed her softly. "I seem to recall that you always loved the details about my sexcapades, especially that time Rossi caught me and Kevin."
"Oh, I will definitely need to hear that story from you, Penelope. We'll have lunch on Monday, and I can get all the details?" Erin asked as she packed up her bag.
"Sounds good, Erin. Have a good weekend. So, Jayje, coffee?"
"Shouldn't you go home to Derek?"
Penelope pulled out her phone to check her notifications, and then shook her head. "Nope, it looks like he's still with Reid. Why? Eager to get back home to Will?" she teased as she waved goodbye to Erin.
"Maybe?" she replied as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "It's a good time for us."
The blush that stained JJ's cheeks told Penelope all she needed to know, and she nodded hurriedly as she also gathered her things, following JJ out to their cars. "Well, I will wish you a very happy evening, then, and keep all my fingers and toes crossed for a little magic happening. We can have coffee another time." Leaning in, she kissed JJ's cheek before letting out an excited squeal as her friend chuckled.
"I will definitely take you up on that offer, PG. And thanks for the smoothie!"
JJ gave her a small wave as she climbed into her car, taking off into the night. Penelope watched her go, still thinking about how well the evening had gone. Two of her friends were going to get lucky, and that had the potential to turn into two little ones for her to love on. "I think that everyone is starting to get into the spirit of the class."
Penelope jumped a little before turning to look at Moira. "I think so, too. It helps that you're a great teacher. I'm just hoping that it helps me to achieve my goal."
"Which is why you're making fertility smoothies?"
Penelope's brow furrowed as she looked at their instructor. "They're just smoothies," she said a little too quickly, listening to Moira chuckle. "What?"
"You're not the first woman who I've helped try to get pregnant. You even mentioned it in the emails we've exchanged. It's rather sweet that you are trying to do what you can to have a baby. But aren't you concerned that your younger friend will get pregnant, too?"
She blushed deeply as she shrugged. "Jayje has wanted another kid for a year or two, so it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. And hey, if I can't get pregnant, at least I can be an auntie again."
Moira nodded as she reached out and patted Penelope's shoulder. "If it is meant to be, it will happen for you. You just need to focus on relaxing and learning how to let go of the timetable that you have in mind and let the universe work through you." Moira smiled, and Penelope found herself returning the expression as she let out a soft breath. "Now, I'll email you four later with what I'd like you to work on this week. I'll see you next Saturday."
"Until Saturday!" she called out as she went over to her car and climbed in, mulling over what Moira had said to her about letting go. It was a little amazing how perceptive the woman was, given how little they'd interacted until now. But it felt good to be seen by someone outside her circle, and she only hoped that this would mean that she was on the right track with everything in her life.
