Kate was still high on post coital endorphins when she entered T0-20's office later that morning that she failed to register Nigel Morton's look of contempt in her direction as she walked in.

"Morning guys," she said breezily as she put her half full take away coffee cup down on her desk and shrugged out of her jacket. She'd bought the drink immediately after the chemist to help her swallow the pill which she'd just taken in the car.

"Morning Kate," Deepak was the first to return her greeting.

"Mornin'" Dot said. "You look happy 'bout som'mut," he added, picking up on Kate's good mood.

"Not really," Kate said as she took her seat. "What are we doing this morning?" She asked. "Boss about?".

Nigel walked slowly closer to Kate, his cane clicking on the floor as he did so. He had his suspicions as to the cause of Kate's happy mood and found it repulsive and showed his displeasure in the only way he knew how.

Kate felt something warm and wet land in her hair and quickly reached up to see what it was. Her fingertips were covered in spit when she observed them. "What the fuck, Nige?" she said angrily, realising he had spit in her hair.

"Yeah mate," agreed Dot. "That's a bit uncalled for," he said as he handed Kate a tissue.

"Is it?" Nigel challenged Dot. "Shes a traitor! She's spreading her legs for Arnott," he continued, deciding to let his colleagues in on what he had found out.

"No I'm not!" Kate replied defiantly as she wiped her hair with the tissue.

"I followed you last night," Nigel retorted, proving Kate was lying. "Kingsgate apartments is where he lives isn't it? Very swanky,".

Kate looked at Deepak and Dot and could see they now mistrusted her as much as Nigel did. Knowing there was nothing she could do to prove her innocence, Kate did the next best thing and locked herself in the ladies toilets.

"God knows how long she's been fuckin' him," Nigel said, mainly to Dot as Deepak wasn't really switched on. "She could be telling him everything during their pillow talk!" he continued. "Tony doesn't deserve that!" he added.

Nigel was still Tony Gates' number one loyal fan and didn't want his boss taken down by AC-12. But there was also a bigger worry to his fury. That Kate knew his injury was fake and had informed Arnott. If AC-12 got wind of it, that was his pension gone.

"They might just be friends," Deepak said, defending Kate. He liked her and always wanted to see the good in everybody.

"Yeah right," said Nigel.

Dot listened to Deepak and Nigel. There was a third possibility that was going on and it was one that was particularly worrying for him.

"Do you fancy getting some lunch away from here?" Dot asked Kate later that day.

"Are you sure you want to be associating with me?" Kate asked, surprised at Dot's offer as she had been treated like a leper ever since she had returned from the ladies.

"I'll risk it," Dot said. "Besides no one's here to see,". Deepak and Nigel had gone for their own refreshments separately.

"Alright," agreed Kate eventually and they were soon in Dot's service car heading to a cafe.

"Let's get a sandwich to go and we can have a private chat somewhere," Dot suggested.

"OK," Kate agreed. She knew she was going to have to discuss her relationship with Steve with someone. Dot was at least being the friendliest of her colleagues at the present time.

Choosing their food, Dot paid before they were in the car again, driving to a destination that Dot suggested was good for talks.

"So was it a one time thing?" Dot asked once they were moving.

"No," Kate admitted.

"So it's serious then?".

"I don't know," Kate replied. "I like him a lot," she confessed before admitting her inner feelings and how they were different to other men she'd been with.

Dot sat and listened, not sure whether to believe Kate or not. He was mad at himself that Nigel had been the one to raise concerns about her and not him. He was The Caddy for fucks sake. He should have noticed it was highly suspicious that soon after Kate started working in T0-20 then AC-12 were sniffing around. That wouldn't do at all.

After Nigel had confronted Kate that morning, he'd been on the phone to Hunter immediately. Kate needed dealing with and that was what he was doing. It was a shame as he quite liked Kate, but orders were orders.

"Why are we here?" Kate asked as they drove in to the docks. It was a strange place to go for a chat. "Dot?" she asked again when he didn't say anything.

Her intuition told her to get out of the car but before she could, Dot applied the child lock.

"What are you doing?" Kate asked as she continued to struggle with the car door but it wouldn't open.

"Taking you to a place for a nice chat," Dot repeated.

Kate knew it wasn't going to be nice.

They pulled up in front of a shipping container right on the edge of the dockyard, far away from the workmen going about their work. Dot got out of the car and knocked on the side of the container. Two men appeared and conversed with Dot before he gave them the car keys. Kate looked on in horror as they approached and dragged her out of the car.

She put up a good fight but they were stronger than her and soon had pulled her in to the container, out of sight. There was a lone chair and table with a vice at one end and Kate was forced over to them before being tied to the chair. She struggled to get away but the knots were strong and held her fast. The two men just looked at her and smiled.

Kate didn't have long before Dot joined them. She watched as he placed a gun and what looked like Nigel Morton's walking cane on the table beside her.

"Dot? What's going on?" Kate asked again.

"I think I should be asking that question," Dot retorted ominously.

"What do you mean?" Kate asked.

"I mean why is AC-12 sniffing around T0-20 soon after you start working there? Bit of a coincidence isn't it? Are you a plant Kate?".

"No!" Kate replied defiantly.

"I don't believe you," Dot said.

One man approached Kate and undid one rope enough to allow him to grab one of Kate's hands and put it in the vice.

"I'm just sleeping with Steve, that's all," Kate confessed very worriedly as the man who had put her hand in the vice quickly grabbed the little finger and pulled it back until it dislocated. Kate screamed in pain but no one could hear her.

"Nige has given you the perfect cover story hasn't he?" Dot said as Kate tried to recover from the pain in her hand.

"He hasn't! I don't know what the hell is going on," Kate shouted. "All I've done is fall in love," she admitted.

"Aww. Sweet," Dot said before turning cold. "I'm gonna ask you again Kate," he informed her. "If you tell the truth then we'll make it quick. If you don't then it's going to be slow and painful. Your choice,".

Kate looked at the table and the weapons on it. She couldn't help the tears falling as she realised she was about to die.

"Are you or are you not an undercover cop for AC-12?" Dot asked.

Kate thought about her options. A bullet would be quick, but she would be lying and she had always told the truth. She wasn't going to change that now.

Accepting her fate Kate looked at Dot. "No," she said defiantly.
