"Cory?" Topanga asked. Everyone around them had seemed to leave after the ceremony, but her and Cory remained. He froze as soon as she uttered those two words and he hadn't moved a muscle since. Topanga snapped her fingers hoping to awaken Cory from his frozen state.

"Did you just say you were pregnant?" Cory asked for clarification.

"Yes," Topanga replied calmly.

Cory jumped from his chair and onto to his feet, freaked out just as Topanga predicted he would react. "What?! Topanga how did this happen?"

Topanga stood to meet Cory's gaze, but she was still much shorter than him. It honestly did not make much of a difference. "Prom night," Topanga briefly explained.

"Prom? But that was..." Cory trailed off counting his fingers to signify each passing week. "Six weeks ago! And we hadn't done it since."

"Cory, you know it only takes on time."

"Of course it does!" Cory gruffed, throwing his hands up in the air and then slinking down into his seat defeated. "I thought we were careful."

"We were," Topanga insisted, sitting down next to her boyfriend as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Just not careful enough."

"What are we going to do?"

"Well, for starters, I've decided to go to Pennbrook."

"But Yale," Cory reminded her. Yale was her dream and there she was possibly throwing it away for not only him, but also their child.

"Do you want me to go to Yale with your unborn child?" Topanga questioned, knowing Cory's response.

"No," Cory admitted.

"Okay, then it's settled. I'm going to Pennbrook." Topanga went to her feet and pulled Cory up with her. "Come on, everyone's outside waiting for us."

"Topanga?"

"Yes, Cory."

Cory took a deep breath and stared into Topanga's eyes and smiled. That was his future. He always knew that would be his future. So he figured, why couldn't their future start today. "Will you marry me?"

"What?" Topanga asked, taken aback. Truthfully no, she did not expect that type of response from Cory. It seemed so sudden, so out of the blue.

"Will you marry me?" Cory repeated. He closed the gap between him and Topanga. "I've known for our entire lives that I was going to marry you. Why wait? Why not start today?"

"Today?" Topanga gulped.

"Today! Let's go to the courthouse and get it done with right now." He grabbed her hand, practically yanking her out of the auditorium.

"Cory, let's be rational for a moment." Topanga pressed her hands to Cory's chest to slow him down and ultimately make him come to a halt. "Are you just doing this because I'm pregnant?"

"No." Topanga gave Cory a knowing glance. She could tell he was not being one hundred percent truthful with her. "Okay! You got me! But Topanga, I love you. Nothing about you being pregnant changes that. This situation made me realize how much I wanted this. You and our baby. Our future together. So what do you say."

Topanga had tears welling in her eyes. She cursed those pregnancy hormones. "Yes. I'll marry you." Cory swept Topanga off her feet and kissed her passionately. He would have kept on kissing her, if it wasn't for Topanga breaking the kiss. "Can we just keep this to ourselves for now? I don't want anyone else to know about the baby or us being engaged. Not yet. I want us to tell them together."

"I think I can do that."

"Shawn!" Cory yelled, walking into Shawn, Eric and Jack's apartment.

"I'm right here, Cor. You don't have to yell," Shawn assured his friend, standing up from the couch to greet him.

"You will not believe what just happened," Cory began.

"Topanga's pregnant," Shawn stated.

Cory pointed his finger at Shawn. "How did you know?"

"I was sitting right next to you, you dope. I heard everything," Shawn said walking to the kitchen to grab them a soda. "I guess a congratulations is in order." Shawn handed Cory his respective drink and then proceeded to tip his drink at his friend before taking a swig. "So did you ask her to marry you?"

"Stop doing that?!" Cory demanded. He hated how Shawn knew everything. But at the same time it was a relief that Shawn knew. He was his best friend after all. "But as a matter of fact, yes I did ask her to marry me."

"And what did she say?" Shawn pried. He was in no means shocked that Cory asked Topanga to marry him. They've basically been married since kindergarten. It was only a matter of time Shawn figured. The news of the baby just sped up the process.

"She said yes," Cory responded. Suddenly, he remembered his conversation with Topanga from earlier. She would kill him if she found out Shawn knew. "But you can't say anything!"

"Topanga swore you to secrecy, huh?" Shawn assumed taking another sip of his beverage.

"How'd you guess?"

"Anyway, Cor, there's something I wanted to talk to you about," Shawn began.

"You're pregnant too!" Cory guessed, jumping to conclusions.

"No."

"But you could be," Cory led. He placed his arm around his buddy's shoulder. "Imagine. You and me having kids at the same time. They'd be best friends. Cory and Shawn 2.0!"

"That's nice, Cor. But I'm not having kids anytime soon."

"But you could!"

Shawn was no where near ready for the responsibility Cory was describing. In fact, there was no way Cory was ready for that responsibility, but Shawn allowed himself to play along with Cory's fantasy. "What if they're girls?"

"Then they'll be Cornelia and Shawna," Cory mused. He figured they could mess with the names later if Shawn would choose but for the moment it conveyed the message.

Shawn was still not completely convinced, causing him to pose another question. "Okay, then. What if you have a boy and I have a girl? Or vice versa?"

Cory took a moment to think. "Then they could get married! We'd practically be family! We'd share grandkids!"

"What makes you think that I would let my hypothetical daughter date your son?"

"Because he would be just like me." Cory puffed up his chest proudly.

"Lord help us all," Shawn muttered.

"What was that Shawnie?" Cory asked. He didn't completely hear what his pal had to say.

"Nothing." Shawn dropped the subject. Thinking about a mini Cory was too scary a thought. Cory wasn't the only one with news to share. "So, Cor, what I really wanted to talk to you about was that I'm thinking about taking some classes at Pennbrook. I was going to ask you to be my roommate, but seeing as you'll be with the Mrs. and Cory Jr..."

"That's great, Shawn," Cory interrupted. He was happy for his best friend and happy at the fact that they'd have the next four years together.

Everything was looking up for Cory Matthews. He had Shawn, Topanga, and the baby. What else could possibly happen.
