The Mission Impossible theme song begins to play as Wave and Storm enter Jet's room. He would return home in an hour, and it was their only chance to investigate and find any hints of Sonic and Jet's sudden friendship.
Wave scooted over to Jet's messy bed. She then turns to Storm, who had been singing the theme song this whole time.
"Is that really necessary?" Wave asked, already regretting bringing Storm along.
"Sorry, I just wanted this to be a bit more fun," Storm said. Wave began to search the messy bed.
"He really needs to learn to clean up after himself," Wave complained. "I made this bed last night, and it's already back the way it was."
Wave rummaged through blankets and pillows until she noticed something under one of the pillows. It was a key.
"A key? Why does he have a key under his blanket?" Wave asked, puzzled as she held up the key.
"Maybe it's for that safe disguised as a dresser," Storm said, pointing at the dresser.
"Wha- How do you know that?!" Wave asked, flabbergasted.
"Oh, Jet told me," Storm said. "He thought I was dumb enough to not reveal that. He also told me that his favorite film is The Notebook and that he listens to Chapelle Roan."
"He said he hated The Notebook!" Wave says. "I must find out what else he's keeping from us."
Wave pulls apart the dresser disguise, puts the key in the safe, and turns it. Inside the safe was nothing but a diary with a simple speaker on it.
"A diary?!" Wave said. "I thought he was too cool for that."
Wave takes the diary and realizes it can only be activated via voice.
"Please say: Your favorite movie," the diary said. Wave cleared her voice and in her best Jet impression:
"The Notebook."
"Welcome, Jet."
The diary unlocked itself and sprung open. Storm was shocked.
"I can't believe that worked!" Storm said. "That was a really good Jet impression."
"My dad was a comedian before he got into Tech Gear," Wave said. "I grew up with Spongebob and Mickey Mouse impressions."
Wave and Storm sat on the ground as they turned the first page of the book.
Entry 1: Stupid therapist gave this to me in order to write out my feelings because apparently venting out my frustration via punching people isn't appropriate. Diaries are for little girls and middle school boys to be made into live action adaptation. I, Legendary Wind Master Jet the Hawk, do not need some stupid diary. Good day.
"Wait, Jet sees a therapist?" Storm asked.
"Storm, the therapist is your cousin. You recommended her to us after we attempted to get the Xbox from thematic reality," Wave said.
"Oh, right. I forgot," Storm chuckled. "Keep going."
Wave continued reading.
Entry 2: STUPID SONIC BEAT ME IN A RACE AGAIN! HOW DID I LET THIS HAPPEN. I WORKED WAY TOO HARD FOR THIS–
"I'm just gonna skip some pages," Wave said. She briefly turns the pages until she gets to Entry 56.
Entry 56: Stupid hedgehog… with his stupid green eyes.. His stupid laugh… the way he teases me… if he keeps this up, I'm gonna do something drastic. But what can I say? I am a pretty attractive bird. That blue blur wants to kiss me so bad it makes him so stupid. Or… do I wanna kiss him? ACK I better go to bed!
"Ooh, now we're getting into the good stuff," Wave said. She flips a few more pages.
Entry 63: He… kissed me. That idiot. He wasn't joking around because he pulled me into his arms when he did it-
"WHOA!" Storm shouted. Wave shushed him as she kept reading.
And I kissed back?! What's wrong with me? I need to take a shower.
"So that's why he hogged up the shower that one time," Wave said. She closes the book. "Well, we've come to a conclusion."
"We have?" Storm asked.
"Yes," Wave said. "Jet's in love with Sonic! They've been going out for weeks now!"
Storm looked shocked. "Uhh, what do we do now?" he asked.
"When Jet gets home, we get mad at him for keeping secrets from us," Wave said. "We're a team. We aren't supposed to keep secrets from each other. I know everything about you two, and you two know everything about me."
"Yeah, it's a shame the boss has been hiding this from us," Storm says, now a little hurt.
"Wave! Storm! I'm home early!" a voice called out in another room.
"Shoot, he's home!" Wave whispered. "We gotta put this back."
The two scrambled to hide the evidence as Jet walked towards his room. Then they walked out like they weren't snooping, as usual.
Wave was pretending to cook dinner and Storm was pretending to watch TV when Jet walked in.
"So, how was your race?" Wave asked, pouring sugar into a frying pan.
"Uh… Okay?" Jet said. "Are you trying to make tanghulu again?"
Wave looks down and realizes what she's pouring. "Well uh… I learned from last time and remembered to not burn it."
"And why is Storm watching Little Chao Adventures? Isn't that a baby show?" Jet says, pointing at the TV. Storm realizes what he's watching.
"Huh.. Must've sat on the remote," Storm said, pretending to look for the remote.
"You two are acting weird," Jet said. "I'm gonna go take a shower and go to bed while you two figure yourselves out."
Jet leaves, and the two go back to normal.
"What happened to getting mad?" Storm asked, now watching the game.
"I panicked!" Wave said. "I didn't think he would be back this early. Look, let's go with Plan B."
"We have a Plan B?" Storm asked.
"We do now," Wave said. "We're gonna have a stake out!"
"Oh I love steak," Storm says. "I'll get the charcoal!"
"No, not that kind of steak!" Wave sighed. "We're gonna find out when Jet's next 'race' is, and then watch him from the bushes."
"Just like in the movies!" Storm said. "But uhh, do we know when is the next time they'll have a 'race'?"
"No, but I know someone who does.. Unfortunately." Wave sighs. "First thing tomorrow morning, we're going to Shorty's place."
Jet goes to his bed and takes the key from under his pillow to unlock the safe disguised as a dresser to retrieve his diary. He turns to a new page and begins writing:
Wave and Storm are acting weird. I think they might be on to me. I will let them know the truth tomorrow. It's time for me as a leader to be honest, or something.
