Threats outside of this world, Yuna thought to herself that she might be able to "store" these unfinished pieces but her item box skills are unable to seal it away.

(What should I do?! If I attack it, it spawns the whole thing?!)

[Hey Yuna, sorry for the inconvenience but I need you to defeat it right away. You girls should be fine dealing with it so better start working~]

"Damn it." Yuna felt like she had been used by her God at this point.

"What's the matter, did you need any help?" Meanwhile Mile is keeping the area safe by aggroing the army at this point. Her swifty movement allows her to not get hit by endless waves of swords and she is mainly strengthening herself to avoid using magic that will blast her nanomachines away.

"Change of plan, we have a boss to fight." Yuna blasts her fire ball into the cursed piece. Then, she blasts another then another.

Kaoru and Fran quickly noticed the monsters were slowed and the continuing explosion had caught their attention too.

BOOOM!

Yuna and Mile both got out of the explosion radius, she didn't expect that Yuna just got back when the portal was clearly still open.

"Mana potion…" Kaoru gives one to Fran and Mile, recovering potion, since she doesn't know if Mile is even using the same system as Yuna or Fran did.

"Hey, what happened? The monsters are not dead yet!" Fran swallows the potion in one go, clearing her throat as well.

"I ran into some issues, I think if we defeat the waves the problems should end." Yuna could see the floating cursed item, and soon others noticed it as well. The cursed mask object named Oddisa, with an unsettling presence of evil and unexplained discomfort. Needless to say, the problem will be the mask ultimately.

"Please be careful, I do not sense any core in that boss."

"Teacher? Aren't you supposed to hide your identity?" Fran asked confusedly, the other three girls didn't seem to be much surprised. "!"

"Sorry Fran-chan~ we all know your secret from the very beginning…" Mile giggles slightly.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Kaoru with her sharp gaze. "But still, I guess we're testing each other anyways."

"Hah?!" Fran in disbelief. "Teacher, how can they know?"

"It's in the story, it's complicated…" Yuna sighs. "Fran, please don't be mad…"

"I'm not mad. Teacher! Why don't you tell me first!" Fran complains, she feels awkward when everyone already knows their secret including her own teacher.

Now running towards the cursed mask, other girls are catching up behind Fran.

"Be careful, Fran!" Mile using her shield to block against incoming projectiles.

"Fran… I do explain, it's just you didn't understand it right away."

"Please cover Fran, she's getting in fast!" Yuna yells at Mile as she punches her fourth headless knight in a row, and is currently pulling a bunch of enemies in the area.

"Roger!"

(Damn, they are all so brave.) Kaoru watches from afar as she get left behind with Kumakyuu. The situation is like any MMO's classic boss fight except Kaoru can't really do much when the monsters are being defeated easily by the other three. Leaving her stun while amazed by what they can do with their swords and magic.

"Are you bored, Kumakyuu?"

"Ku…"

Back to the front line, Fran dodges all of the incoming attacks and has landed a decisive slash to end the cursed mask once and for all. The monsters, however, are in rage mode and now are running mindlessly towards Fran for a final attack.

Yuna, in a place behind foreseeing the sudden change in monsters, is now actively blasting fireball magic to help out Fran and Mile. She worried the sudden overwhelming force may be enough to get to them somehow.

"Fran! The big one!" Mile actively cleared the skeletons and smaller but many in number monsters while Fran specialized in shutting down big threats that are twice, five and even ten times her size.

BOOOM!BOOOM!BOOOM!BOOOOOM!

"Are you two alright?" Yuna's barrage of attacks opened up a passage towards Mile and Fran.

"Yeah… there's only a few of them left it seems. They don't respawn." Mile in her caution voice.

"They are nothing against me." Fran showcases her skillful cut against the last enemy. "Now teacher, please tell me everything you know…"

"It's the multiverse, Fran… Back in my world, there are stories told in books called manga and the people you fight together just now are protagonists in their own story."

"Huh. Manga?"

(Is Fran's master that bad at communicating the idea to her?) Mile, also a light novel writer, can't stand the master incapable of explaining it in simpler and interesting terms. "Hey Fran! (Raise hand) I can tell you if you want!"

"Teacher, you're making me embarrassed." Fran complains. "I need curry after this."

"Fine… fine."
