Story #15

When Pam rose for the day, she found an owl patiently waiting for her. When she opened her kitchen window, the owl hopped in, raised its leg and hooted.

"Hello, lovely, sorry to keep you waiting." Pam cooed at the bird. The owl nuzzled her hand as she stroked its feathers. After the missive was taken, the owl walked over to the bowl of water and frog legs to help himself.

Pam unfurled the message and smiled, it would seem her wizard wanted her company. He had a surprise waiting for her. As she penned her reply, accepting of course, Pam chuckled. She was curious what the surprise would be, she never knew with George. She could love it or, well, not really hate it but not exactly like it either. After attaching the note, Pam petted the owl and kissed its head before the owl flew away. Fortunately, international owls didn't have to fly the entire way. There were places everywhere that had floos just for the owls. They were even warded against unauthorized owls. As Pam reread the message, she cocked a brow, it would seem George wanted her to dress casual, his thought of casual not hers which would be jeans, t-shirt and something other than heels. She could do that. It would be a surprise for her wizard. She had yet to dress down that much but it would be fun and she was really curious what he had planned. Just as she was stepping out of the shower, her phone rang. Knowing it was most likely her Maker, Pam put the phone on speaker and sat it on the sink.

"What has you in such high spirits, brat?" Eric asked. He had felt her happiness shortly after she rose.

"Really, Eric, must you ask?" Pam replied as she dried off.

"Probably not, I take it you will be meeting your wizard tonight?" Eric chuckled.

"Yes and before you ask, he has a surprise for me and you know how much I enjoy surprises." Pam answered.

"Unless it has something to do with oranges." Eric stated.

"True, I do so despise those little balls of juiciness." Pam's disdain was clear.

"Just because your former daywoman left some to rot on your counter…" Eric was interrupted.

"Do you know how long it took me to get rid of the smell? It lasted for months, Eric! Months!" Pam ranted as she applied her makeup.

Eric quietly chuckled at his Child, she could be such a drama queen, although he couldn't' blame her for despising oranges after that incident. He knew it had taken airing her house out, during winter, for three months before the stench finally left. Yes, they had no need to breathe but had to if they wanted to talk or check their surroundings.

"So when are you and your wizard going to find a residence to share?" Eric prodded.

Pam huffed, "Just because your two mates chose to move here, doesn't mean George will."

"Have you asked him?" Eric prompted.

"No but I will, eventually." Pam sighed.

"You know, Pam, he may be waiting for you to bring it up." Eric suggested.

"You think?" Pam wondered.

"According to my mates, your wizard is a bit gun shy, as they say." Eric shared.

"Why? He hasn't said anything." Pam wanted to know. George hadn't mentioned being burned in such a way in all the talks they had had. She wondered what had happened.

"And he may not, not wanting to put any pressure on you. Maybe you should ask him about it. From what Hermione told me, he was hurt pretty deeply just after leaving school. Draco also commented that wizards like George tended to time before attempting such actions again." Eric told her.

"What do you mean, like George? Nothing's wrong with George." Pam demanded.

"A bit protective are we?" Eric chuckled. "Draco meant nothing bad by his statement, just that George may be outgoing in all aspects of his life except where the fairer sex is concerned."

"Ah, well, if you get burned bad enough, it's understandable." Pam said.

"True, so, are you going to bring it up or let the one person in far too long to make you happy slip away?" Eric pushed. He wanted nothing but good things for his Child and George made her very happy.

Pam was quiet as she dressed, finally she answered. "I'll bring it up, if not tonight, then very soon."

"Promise me, Pamela." Eric's playfulness gone. He knew how well his Child could procrastinate unless he got her word.

"Fine, I promise to ask George within a week. There, happy?!" Pam snarked.

"Very, thank you. Now, have fun on your date." Eric said just before hanging up.

Pam checked her appearance before grabbing her purse and the portkey, reminding herself she really needed to install a floo, and stepped outside to wait the few seconds for activation.

When Pam landed, she looked around and spotted Fred sitting on the couch.

"Hey Pam!" Fred greeted as he bounced up and gave her a tight hug.

"Hey Fred." Pam returned as she hugged the twin back. "Where's George?"

Fred grinned, "Said he'd be right back. Sit, tell me what you've been up to."

Pam joined him on the couch and they chatted for a bit until George returned.

"There's my Lady!" George smiled as he embraced Pam, giving her a quick kiss.

"George, what's on the agenda tonight?" Pam inquired.

"You'll see." George answered with a twinkle in his eyes.

"Should I have brought anything?" Pam wondered.

"Nope! Got it all right here." George patted his pocket as he turned to his brother. "See you later, bro."

"Have fun, kids." Fred nodded as George wrapped his arms around Pam and they disappeared.

When they landed, Pam noticed they were on a hillside somewhere with a clear sky overhead.

"Beautiful" was all Pam could say.

"Just like you." George stated as he stared at her which caused Pam to smile.

"Now, let me get this party started." George stated as he pulled a tiny basket out of his pocket.

As Pam watched, he enlarged the basket before pulling a blanket out and spreading it on the ground. He placed the basket down as he sat, patting the spot next to him. Pam grinned and joined him as they told each other of their day.

George unpacked the food he brought, there were several fruits along with several mini-meals. When Pam gave him a questioning look, George smirked.

"I know you can't eat any human food but I know you're curious about several things." He said.

"Like what you just so happen to have brought." Pam stated.

"Exactly. Now, my thought is that I can eat one and then kiss you so you can taste without ingesting." George winked.

"I see and if I don't like it?" Pam wondered what he would do.

"Then I'll clean both our mouths and never eat it again." George stated matter-of-factly.

"Shall we begin?" Pam couldn't help but be excited. She enjoyed kissing George, nothing new there, but she was eager to see what many of the foods he had brought tasted like.

The fruits were rather good; the only one she really didn't care for was the kiwi. It had a strange taste, not bad but not good either. The vegetables were rather interesting. George would eat part of one then kiss her, then he would dip it in various dips before kissing her again. She learned most tasted good without the dips but had a really different flavor after dipping. Next George sampled several entrées and shared their flavor with her. Pam enjoyed most of the flavors but she really enjoyed kissing George senseless. The glazed look in his eyes was very satisfying for her and she knew her eyes were just as glossy.

Then it was time for desserts. Pam knew some but none of what George had brought. He had small slices of cakes and puddings along with an amazing collection of cookies. He had also brought several chocolate confections. It wasn't that Pam had never had chocolate before; she wasn't that old unlike her Maker. However, she hadn't had such treats as the ones George had brought. However, her favorite had been the Death by Chocolate cake, it had been absolutely sinful to taste. It was a good thing she was vampire because had she been human in today's world, she would be big as a house!

In between tasting and kissing, some talking was done. It was a beautiful night and they were both in good spirits. Although their kisses had started off as somewhat innocent, they had gradually become quite heated and passionate. Pam knew she needed to ask George about moving in together, he was her addiction and she was tired of waking up with "withdrawals".

"George, there's something I want to ask you." Pam said a little breathlessly as she slowly pulled George away from her neck.

"Sounds serious, what's wrong?" George leaned far enough back to look into her eyes. He was comforted by what he saw.

"Nothing bad, I promise." Pam smiled at her wizard to put him at ease and was happy it worked.

"Alright, shoot." George urged.

Pam took a deep breath, "How would you feel sharing a home with me?"

George stared at her for a moment before a smile slowly made it way on his face. Then he leaned in and kissed her with as much passion as he could muster, which was quite a bit.

"I'd love to." He whispered on her lips. Pam's relief was tangible as she tackled her wizard and showed him just how much she appreciated his answer.

Several hours later found the couple entwined and staring at the stars.

"This was a wonderful picnic, George, thank you." Pam told him as she lay in his arms.

"Glad you enjoyed it, you are welcome." George tightened his arms around her. "So, when do you want to look for a place to share? Will we live here or in America?"

"America, I think. I'm still enjoying living there, if you don't mind." Pam answered.

"Not at all, Fred and I were discussing opening a shop in the States." George confessed.

"Really?" Pam sat up to look in his eyes.

"Really. We think we'd do well." George leaned up on an elbow.

"I think you would too and I know three people who would be interested in investing in such an enterprise." Pam grinned.

"Who?" George asked eagerly.

"Well, me of course, then there's Eric and he's commented that Godric was thinking about talking to you and Fred about branching out in America." Pam's excitement was overflowing.

George jumped up, pulling Pam with him as he lifted her off the ground and spun around. Pam laughed, she couldn't help it, and grinned down at her mate.

"This night was awesome before, now, now it's above and beyond!" George exclaimed laughingly. "How long can you stay?"

"I've been allowed a week." Pam shared as she ended her call to Eric. He had been happy for her and told her to take some time to get things figured out and when they did then he and Godric would meet with the twins to discuss business.

"Awesome! Shall we retire to my flat and share the news with Fred?" George offered.

"Sure, sounds good." Pam agreed as she wrapped her arms around George to prepare for apparation.
