Story #19

"Oh hello, Spike." Luna greeted.

"Luna." Spike returned. "Where are you going?"

"To the Magic Box." Luna answered.

"You do know it's not safe to be out around here after dark?" Spike asked.

"But I'm not by myself, Spike, you're with me." Luna looped her arm through his as they walked.

"S'pose you do, pet." Spike grinned. Luna was quite unique and Spike loved that about her. The first time they met, she knew he had his soul but had told no one. How she knew, he had no clue but that was Luna for you.

"I thought you would help the Slayer tonight." Spike commented.

"I was but she had too many nargles around her right now." Luna told him.

"I see." Spike couldn't help his chuckle. He just never knew what would come out of Luna's mouth.

"They're quite nasty and she has so many. I thought she might need some time to work through things so the nargles will leave her along." Luna's dreamy voice was hypnotic to Spike. She was a strange creature but she had never treated him as anything but another person and he appreciated that.

When they reached the shop, Spike held the door for Luna.

"Thank you, Spike." She said as she passed him. "Hello Anyanka." Luna greeted, "How are you today?"

"Inventory's proper, sales are up and Xander gives me excellent orgasms." Anya answered with a broad smile.

"That's good, proper orgasms are quite important." Luna stated.

"I know, right?" Anya nodded her head. "What can I get you today Luna?"

"I need some wax and mistletoe." Luna told her.

"Ah, I have the mistletoe right here." Anya placed several sprigs on the counter. "Wax, which color?"

"Blue please." Luna clarified.

"Hmm, let me check." Anya said as she headed to the backroom. "Ah-hah!" they heard as Anya came back proudly holding up some blue wax. "I'll need to order more, this is the last of it."

"Oh, thank you, Anya. What do I owe you?" Luna asked.

Anya rang up the sale, Luna paid while Spike wandered the store. When she was done, Luna looped her arm through Spike's as they left. As they walked down the street, Spike picked a flower.

"You can do better." Luna stated as she raised her wand and turned the droopy flower into a beautiful iris before putting a stasis charm on so it would stay lovely. "Buffy will like that better."

Spike stared at the changed flower, "What if this was for you?"

"It is not but I do propose you ask Buffy what she prefers." Luna suggested.

"I can't ask the Slayer what her favorite flower is and who says it's for her?" Spike defended.

When Luna just smiled at him, Spike huffed, "Alright, fine, it's for the Slayer but only because she's been having such a bad week, you know."

Luna gave a light laugh as she continued to walk, "It's alright, Spike. She has less nargles when you're around."

"Really?" Spike's voice softened.

"Yes, I think you should let her know how you feel." Luan said breezily.

"Can't do that, pet, she'd never believe me." Spike muttered.

They were quiet as they walked to Buffy's house where Luna was staying. Just as they turned to walk up the steps, Luna said, "She might." As she left Spike at the door contemplating her parting words.
