chapter 3: Casper's Parents Find Out

Meanwhile.

Casper had reached the bus station, and bought a ticket to the big city, so now he was on his way to the big city. It was now slowly becoming sunrise as the bus travelled out of the suburbs, and towards the big city. Casper was so excited about what his new life was gonna bring, he could hardly sleep on the bus. "This is so amazing." he said, feeling proud of himself. "I wish I'd done this yesterday! I think it's so much fun to run away from home!"

But Casper didn't know a group of someones had found out what was happening, and now, they were gonna alert his parents.

Back at Casper's house, Amber, with a plaster on her arm where Casper cut her, was eating her porridge. Reg was staring in his wallet, looking puzzled.

"I don't understand it." Reg said. "I had loads of money from the bank in here yesterday, and now it's gone!"

"Are you sure it hasn't fell out?" Amber asked. "Sure as sure as my hard hat is orange." Reg admitted.

"I need this money to pay for the building supplies at the construction site. Everyone chips in." he added.

"Also," he added, "Where's Casper? It's not like him to be late for breakfast."

"I don't know." Amber said. "He was very quiet last night."

"But," she went on, "I noticed he was in bed early, whilst you were in the shower. Quite funny."

"Yes," said Reg, "but not funny as in 'ha-ha'; more like 'weird'."

They didn't know Casper had already ran away... yet.

Back upstairs, in Casper's Room, the cartoon characters were getting ready for their plan to alert Casper's parents about what happened.

Jack Hammer took Pingu back to his place, on Casper's bedside table, and also, he'd taken the runaway letter with him.

He put the letter on said bedside table, and once Pingu had tuned back into an alarm clock, he set the alarm to go off.

Immediately, the alarm went off. Casper's parents heard the noise from upstairs. "Ugh!" Reg sighed in annoyance, heading upstairs. "Casper needs to turn that alarm clock down every morning! It's so loud, it wakes us up too early!"

Jack Hammer hid under Casper's bed, just as Reg stormed in, and turned off the alarm clock. then, he saw the letter left there. "What's this?" he picked up the letter, read it, and his heart began to pound heavily in his chest.

"No..."he thought to himself. "Casper would never do such a thing like..."

his eyes caught sight of the open window. his jaw hung, and his eyes almost popped. "He's gone!" Grabbing the letter, he raced downstairs. "Honey!"

Jack Hammer crawled out from under the bed, joined by Pingu, who had become normal again. "Worked like a charm." Jack told Pingu, who noot nooted in response.

"Say it isn't so, honey!" Amber said, shaking her husband. She had just read the letter, and she was worried about her son too.

"I'm afraid it is so." Reg said. "Casper's run away!"

Amber burst into tears, burying her face into Reg's belly, sobbing as Reg tried to comfort his wife.

Everyone in Dream Street saw this on Tech's Tech Cam.

"I hope Casper's Ok." said Sister Bear.

"Me too, sis." Brother Bear said.
