"M-my name is-"
"We know who you are, Star Sprite..."
"O-okay..." El sat on the ground. "They shouldn't be too long, right?"
It rested its face on the barrier, staring down at El. "Why do you pout? You are trapped...You should be enraged..."
"Trapped? I'm not trapped."
"He shut the door...He left you...He does not believe you can be helpful to his mission, so he abandoned you in here with us..."
"You're wrong. Olly trusts me!"
"But the only thing you did last time was hold him back..."
"Last month, I was working with Magic. I've changed since then."
"Are you certain he trusts you, Star Sprite...?"
"Yes. He's a kind person. He forgave Magic, and he forgave me too. And I'm sure if you change, he'll forgive you too."
"We cannot change...We are chaos, we are darkness..."
"Yeah, I thought you'd say that."
Olly sat down on his throne and pulled out his laptop. He searched for Laybelle Shepard. One thing showed, about a donation to a library.
"Laybelle Shepard, a budding author, decided to sell all of her books to the Riverend Library. It was revealed that Laybelle was only a pen name, but her real identity was never found before her death. Her husband and son refuse to explain any further details about Laybelle's true identity.
"Her secrecy of her name is only one of many. She had apparently hidden a magic spell inside of one of her stories, and people have gone through great lengths to find it. The Riverend Library even helped in the search before finding it could be dangerous, and shut the search parties down."
"What's the Riverend Library?" Olly began searching for that.
"The Riverend Library is the library of the multiverse. Books from the many worlds that make up reality can be found here, including the famous books of Laybelle Shepard."
Olly went to the website instead.
"The Riverend Library is located at the river's end of Death Valley Peak. A harsh trial awaits, but those who decide to make the journey are blessed with the knowledge of the multiverse."
"Okay...So what do you have there?"
He went to the catalog, and immediately saw a book from Izuku's world. It was a book of heroes, apparently donated by an ex-villain named Keen-EYE. The books had the author, and the donator written under them in the catalog. He looked for Laybelle Shepard.
She only had three books in the system, one not even written by her. Rather, it was donated. The book about Fold of Life wasn't in the system. Olly assumed they removed it either when she gave it to her family, or when they found that was the one with magic, and took it down to call off the search. Another thought, however, came to him. She must have not donated the book at all, hench the lack of a library print location.
"So, you have books here. What is this one about?" He clicked on the donated book.
"The history of the Demons and Mubishias. Author: Sandrahara Midnite. Donated: 07/17/1306 by Laybelle Shepard."
"Mubishias...Magic said she was one of those. So that must mean that Laybelle has a connection to them." Olly tried to put the book on hold, but i wanted a card number. But to get a card, he had to visit the library's front desk. "So where is Death Valley Peak?" He searched that up next, after bookmarking the page with the catalog.
"Death Valley Peak is the weak connection between worlds. A library system, named Riverend Library, was built there in honor of the brave adventurers that traveled miles to reach its peak."
The map displayed that it was pretty far away, but with enough supplies and determination, they should be able to make it. The thing came for travel. Tape's motorcycle wouldn't do that well in the desert, but Bowser's Castle would be too large to land nearby. Hole Punch had a truck, but the engine was having problems and Tape was still working on it.
"Hm...Wait a second. Peach wanted me to join a kart racing thing once, didn't she? I wonder if she has a desert vehicle we could use...I'll have to pay her a visit." He bookmarked that page as well.
He called everyone back to the throne room, leaving the Chaos Heart Entity under watch by Kenan, the Koopa Troopa, Eddie, the Goomba, and Blight, the Boo. Olly sat back down on his throne, tapping the arm rest as he thought.
"Olly?" Olivia asked. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. I know I called you back before you could finish my requests, but I found something and I need another opinion on this."
"What's the issue, Olly?" Mimi said with a curtsy.
Olly showed them the page with the location of Death Valley Peak. "We need to hed here. All of the leads I found pointed us here. And since I had a library in my dream, I'm thinking this might be the one I saw."
"A multiversal connection," Dimentio mumbled to himself. "Some powerful battle must have happened there to leave such a big rift in space and time."
"There's a river here that the library's at the end of. It's called the Riverend Library; but that was probably obvious. Apparently our mysterious author donated a book there from Sandrahara Midnite. And since she's from the same world as Magic was, that means that if Laybelle really is Sandi..."
"So you're saying Sandi and my family would have a connection to that world?" Peter asked.
Olly nodded. "I was going to ask Peach about transportation. Does she have any cars or bikes that can traverse a desert landscape?"
"Yes, actually. There's a few race tracks that are in a desert, so I'll bet she'd let you use some if you asked."
"Thank you, father. Now, I'm aware some, or most of us, can fly or float; Olivia and I being some of them. Fawful mentioned something about a flying helmet, once, but I'm more concerned about those who have to travel by foot."
Dimentio cleared his throat and stepped forwards. "Now, I know it's not my turn to talk, but I think this is extremely important to mention."
"Go ahead."
"If it's a connection between the entire multiverse, then there comes the issue of our magic and abilities. You see, plenty of worlds use or have magic, and in order to prevent a power-hungry tyrant from coming there to destroy it or some other terrible event, they'll likely have a barrier to prevent the usage of magic. Now, if they were amateurs, it would only be around the proximity of the building. However, if multiple people contributed to the construction of the library, then the barrier's range will be larger. On some occasions, a magic-blocking machine can be used. It will burst out like an EMP and deactivate all magic it comes in contact with. But the problem comes to you, King Olly. You and your sister were born of magic, so deactivating that magic will essentially take away your life."
Olly blinked. "Uh...Not to sound rude or anything but...you lost me."
Dimentio sighed. "The library connects to the entire multiverse, a place where all magic and magical systems are different. So in order to protect the weakened spot in the fabric of reality, the library will be protected by a huge barrier that ends magic like an EMP to your home phone. I'm worried that since it silences all magic, including life-giving ones, you, your sister, El, and the Chaos Heart Entity will all either die or be badly injured by the sudden cutoff of magic."
"Wait, wait. Who said we were bringing the Chaos Heart Entity with us?"
"Do you really want to leave it here, unguarded, in a world that it's tortured for years?"
"Hm...Good point. I guess we don't have any choice but to bring it with us. But we should discuss further once we're certain Peach can lend us some vehicles. We'll head to the Mushroom Kingdom and figure out what next from there. Oh, and I'll also be bringing my Legion with me in order to keep a close eye on the Chaos Heart Entity. Okay?"
The group nodded, a few of them bowing.
"Fawful, once we get the transportation, I'll have you alter Tape and Hole Punch's vehicles to be able to travel the desert as well. And maybe you can fix HP's engine while you're at it."
"Yessir!" Fawful saluted him, smacking Mimi with his cloak in the process.
"Ah!" She rubbed her side where he smacked her.
"Sorry, Spider Woman!"
