Tamaki walks straight home after school and asks to transfer schools. Of course, it's not that simple. Being sucked into the Expanse apparantly does not give the students an early end to the year, nor does it open up opportunities to transfer into other schools who are still on full session.

The teachers, particularly the ones who had also became unwilling visitors, all give the students a break, and barely push homework. They also seem to get that across to the other teachers, and passing school has never been easier. Some of the students complain, particularly the ones who were not there, but they are shut down pretty efficiently by those who were.

Tamaki feels angry, and empty when she gets home. All her demons are gone, and her Guardian is gone, and Reiko, the person who would understand what she meant best, is gone too. All left behind in the Expanse. And there's a part of Tamakia who feels like she should have been left behind too. Her journey has made her stronger, but she has gotten used to the borrowed strengths of a Guardian, and feels a hollowed out space where one should be. A part of her has been left behind, and there are days where she wants nothing more then to follow it.

So she asks to change schools. Karukozaka students do understand her best, and are thankful to her, but the school it's self has too many reminders for her to pick herself up and move on with a normal life.

(That must have been what they meant her to do. Why else would they leave)

So she spends the rest of the year in Karukozaka, takes up fencing, and exchanges numbers with Yumi for when she does need to talk about it.

And she doesn't talk about it. She takes up fencing, makes a few friends on her new school, and tries to be an ordinary high school student. And it works, up until the sky goes weird.

She knows demons, she knows how to talk to them, she gets her sword ready, and then her lack of a guardian and comp hits her.

Even with a Comp, there is still a possibility of getting possessed by the Demon you are trying to summon. And Tamaki has no guardian to protect her from that.

She had been excitedly talking about Demons to her club, but now her energy fades, and her sword hangs loosely in her grip.

She gives it to someone else with a "good luck" speech she isn't attentive for, and tries to distract herself by fighting with Tadashi.

But she's knows the truth. She chickened out.

I will probably write one for one of the boys endings too, or both, but for her birthday, let's go with the happier one
