Roman looked at the number on his screen. He didn't know the number. It could be a crazy fan that somehow had gotten their hands on it. He hit the green button and answered the call.

"Hello?" He asked.
"Roman?" She asked.

He recognized the voice right away and it brought a smile on his face.

"Zayna!" He said cheerfully. "I'm happy to hear from you. I never got to see you after the show last week. I wanted to know how you found it."
"You were amazing," she said.
"Just me?" He grinned. "Tell me more, cupcake. Feed my ego a little more. I can handle it."

He heard her laugh on her end and it made him laugh too. He knew she had been in Undertaker's private room for the show but he had hoped he would get to talk to her again. Once he got around to knock on the door after the main event, they were both gone.

"So what can I do for you today?" He asked.
"You can get me inside the arena somehow," she said.
"Are you outside?" He asked.
"I took a road trip," she said. "Fuck, that was stupid of me to do, wasn't it? I'll go home again."
"Don't move!" He raised his voice. "I'm sending someone out to get you."

She hung up and leaned up against her car. It didn't take long before the same woman from the week before came out to get her. She was escorted to Roman's private locker room where she was met by a friendly face.

"Awkward wave from afar or a hug?" He asked.
"I don't know," she answered. "Mark hugged me last week before I even got to say hello. I felt like he stepped all over my boundaries."
"Awkward wave it is," he said.

He raised his hand and waved at her. She laughed and shook her head no.

"This is stupid," she said.

She walked over to him and gave him a hug. He took in the sweet smell of peaches and nectarines coming from her. He wasn't sure if it was her shampoo or perfume, or maybe a mix of both. Either way, she smelled really good.

"How have you been?" He asked.
"I'm trying to figure out the chaos in my head," she said.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked.
"Can I get some water first. It was a long drive and I ran out," she said.
"Of course," he said.

He opened a small fridge placed in the room and grabbed a bottle of water for her. She accepted it and sat down on an arm chair next to him.

"Last week I went home to pack some clothes. Mark convinced me to go home with him to get to know him better. It was a mistake. It all went too fast but he just kept pressuring me until I accepted," she said.
"He can be a bit of an ass sometimes," he said.
"He has a wife and other children and a whole lot of fucking friends. What better way to introduce me to everyone than throwing a giant barbeque without telling me first? I never got a moment of piece. They were all over me. Eventually I excused myself to go to the bathroom. I grabbed my suitcase and I left. I drove all night to get here. I don't know why I didn't drive home instead since it's so fucking close. There was something about you last week that made me feel safe somehow. And I figured he would look for me at home instead of on the road," she said.

He reached a hand over and placed it on top of hers. He caressed her hand with his thumb and smiled at her. Undertaker had gone way too far trying to convince her to step into the daughter role without getting to know her first. It wasn't fair to her to be treated like that.

"None of them could understand why I wasn't over the moon with joy about being reunited with my father, and why I don't love him already. He kept saying he loved me since the moment he held me in his arms the first time but that's not fair to me. I have no memory of him. I can't just love him out of the blue," she said.
"No, that's not how things work," he said.
"And that red demon idiot!" She rolled her eyes.
"Kane?" He asked.
"Yes, Kane," she answered. "That dude is a fucking idiot. He kept switching between telling me to know my place as a woman and a daughter and doing what my father says. As if I'm fucking 5 and Mark's slave apparently."
"Kane has some very outdated views on women. We all used to respect him until he went public with how he truly feels," he said.

She sighed and took a sip of her water. He kept caressing her hand to comfort her.

"I know what they did was wrong but they were my parents. They loved me and I loved them. Everything was normal," tears showed in her eyes. "I don't know what the fuck to do. Everyone is telling me how to feel and I can't cope."

Tears ran down her face and he leaned over to hug her. She cried down on his shoulder for almost a minute before she finally moved out of his arms.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't burden you with all this," he said.
"Don't apologize. I like having you around. And truth be told, I like being your secret hideaway. Like I said last week, you have a friend in me. Use me all you want," he said.

She raised her eyebrows and then started laughing through her tears. He realized how he had worded the last sentence and started laughing too.

"Get that dirty mind out of the gutter," he said.
"I'm sorry," she laughed. "I've always had a vivid imagination."
"Am I any good in it?" He smirked.
"Stop!" She laughed even harder. "Oh, my stomach hurts from laughing."

He chuckled and stood up.

"Do you wanna go see what catering is offering or should I just go load up two plates of food and hope I guess correctly?" He asked.
"As long as it's vegetarian and potatoes are involved," she said.
"Mission accepted," he said. "I'll be right back."

He walked over to the door and turned around to look at her.

"What are your plans for tonight?" He asked.
"I'll crash in my car," she said.
"You most certainly will not," he said. "I'll pay for a room for you at the hotel and that's not up for debate."
"Careful with that pushy side," she said.
"I can't in good conscience let you sleep in your car. There's always creeps around no matter where we go. You need to hand me this one win," he said.
"Fine," she said. "But if you're paying for my room, you better let me pay for a late night dinner somewhere. I don't care if we go out, order room service, or bring takeaway back to our rooms. I'm paying and that's final."
"Deal," he said.

He winked at her, opened the door, and left her to relax in his room. She leaned back in the arm chair and stared up at the ceiling with a smile on her face. She had made the right choice coming here and reaching out to him. He had come through as promised, and everything felt good in that moment.
