Optigami Illusion

What if Shadow Moth had Optigami follow Rena Rouge to get more information?

Chapter 1

Shadow Moth lurked in the men's room on the floor of Tour Montparnasse which contained Style Queen Magazine. He had humiliated and akumatized Audrey Bourgeois at her fashion event, using a sentimonster copy of Alec Cataldi. He intended to get Style Queen to glitterize all the temp Miraculous wielders he had invited to the event, and then have a sentimonster impersonate one of them. Ladybug would give the creature a Miraculous, and after the fight she would get it back. Optigami, Mayura's spy creature, would be hiding on it. She would take it home and Shadow Moth would finally learn her identity. Only one known temp holder remained. Thiswas truly his most cunning plan yet.

"I know the perfect bait to lure our last target out of her hiding place," said the villain.

He created a sentimonster copy of the latest glitterized victim, Nino, Alya's boyfriend.

"Sentinino, I am Shadow Moth. You will help me find Alya Césaire."

Sentinino went out in from the restroom search of his assigned target, calling her name. It was taking a frustratingly long time.

Shadow Moth turned his attention to his link with Style Queen. Ladybug had finally showed up to engage her in combat, dodging every blast. He intended to let her have a victory that would turn to defeat. Soon she should realize that she couldn't win alone, and run off to seek a helper. Or would she?

Shadow Moth was startled by a report from Nathalie of what Optigami was seeing. "Alya Césaire located, Sir, but she's already transformed into Rena Rouge and she's with a kwami."

"What?!" asked Shadow Moth. He should have anticipated that Ladybug would come in, find Alya first, and power her up before going to fight Style Queen. However, it was surprising for a temp hero to be trusted with a free kwami. He needed to learn more about this close connection. Even if Ladybug didn't use any more helpers today, and fall into his trap, he might still get something out of Alya later.

He realized that Rena was speaking to Sentinino, holding .out something.

"Here, your Miraculous," said Rena Rouge, handing off the Turtle Miraculous.

Shadow Moth asked through Sentinino, "Why are you the one giving it to me?"

"Ladybug gave me a mission while she's dealing with Style Queen. Transform yourself and go help her, I'll meet up later."

"The only person Ladybug entrusted to distribute a Miraculous in the past was Chat Noir," said Nathalie over the communicator.

"It seems Alya Césaire is not just any holder," said Shadow Moth. "Have Optigami follow her. Our plan will not be compromised if we take a moment to learn about this 'mission'."

"Wayzz, Shell On!" said Sentininio at Shadow Moth's command.

Still on the wall, Optigami followed Rena as she ran around the corner.

"Voyage!" said Kaalki, opening a portal.

Rena Rouge went through the portal and it closed behind her, but not before Optigami got a peek through it.

"Sir, Rena Rouge used the Horse kwami's power to enter the elevator where Adrien and his classmate, Marinette Dupain-Chang, were trapped."

"Really? Why would she bother rescuing a couple of kids stuck in an elevator? A Lucky Charm cure will free them soon."

"One or both of them must be important to Ladybug," said Nathalie. "It said in your grimoire that it's very dangerous to use a kwami by itself – I just saw on the news that the Eiffel Tower and the Arch de Triomphe have disappeared."

"We'll discuss it later. Right now, go ahead with the original plan to get Optigami onto the Turtle Miraculous."

"Of course, sir."

The original plan failed. Somehow, Ladybug saw through Sentinino and had Chat Noir Cataclysm the Turtle Miraculous, forcing Optigami out.

Nathalie cried out in pain as the link to her sentimonster was broken.

Shadow Moth snarled, "One day, I'll get you Ladybug! Sentinino, I release you from your existence."

"Optigami, I don't release you yet. I have a theory, and you might still be useful. There are two new candidates for temp holders now – Adrien and Marinette,"
