Volume 3 Intro Song: Rise (feat. The Word Alive) by League of Legends, The Glitch Mob & Mako

The next morning, while everyone is at Amity watching the remaining matches of the Doubles Round, and Hedge getting his final tests to clear him from the medical wing, Ozpin is still reviewing over the files that Theodore sent over regarding the hedgehog Faunus leader, but he also knows that he needs to find a new guardian. Ever since the infiltration on the CCT during the dance, he knew he needed to speed up the process of finding someone to take the reins for that position. He then remembers something, and calls the Shade Headmaster, who answers shortly after.

???: "Ozpin? Didn't expect a call from you since the matches were going on. That girl from James' academy sure is something." The man that appeared on screen was Professor Theodore himself. Penny's match along with her teammate Ciel Solei had just finished, and to say that it was a one-sided match would be an understatement. The bullies Russel and Sky of Team CRDL didn't stand a chance against the two, or rather against Penny in general, as the peppy gynoid fought the entire fight by herself, while Ciel was just watching.

Ozpin: "Yes, Theodore. Miss Polendina sure did handle the two boys from Team CRDL, though if I'm being completely honest, they sure did deserve the beating they received." Theodore took note of the hidden tone Ozpin had, and Ozpin saw him raise an eyebrow, and as of answering the unspoken question, he chuckles. "To put it shortly, them and the rest of their team have been known as bullies in the school to the Faunus students last semester, including even trying to pick a fight with one of your team's leaders, Mr. Badnic.

Theodore: "Ah, so basically karma. Mr. Badnic didn't hurt them too bad, did he?"

Ozpin: "No, not at all. As for my call, funny enough, it's actually pertaining to Mr. Badnic and his team."

Hedge was watching the remaining Doubles matches off his scroll in his hospital bed. Penny beating the CRDL boys with no trouble.

Hedge: "It's surprising they got into the Doubles round, let alone the Vytal Festival itself. If Oz let me or Goodwitch have our way, they wouldn't even be in Beacon at all anymore."

Then came the match of Weiss and Yang versus two students from Atlas Academy: Flynt Coal and Neon Katt of Team FNKI. An interesting team name Ironwood, Hedge thought to himself. This was a fight he really wanted to see the outcome to, or at the very least know if he would fight against Yang or Weiss, though if he was being honest, he would say Yang would be the one to go onto the 1-on-1 Finals if they were to win.

Not to say that Atlas and the General weren't capable of competent students/teams. Case in point with Penny, but just from eyeing how the two Atleasians looked, compared to that of Yang and Weiss, well, he knew not to judge a book by its cover. Being drilled into his head the "atrocities" those from Atlas had committed thanks to the Doctor had that effect on him at first. Minus the Doctor, his first interaction that he could remember with an Atleasian was Zion. And yes, the heir to the Venus Corporation was, and still is, a bit of a prankster, but after the first two years of them being a team, he was able to make a friend of him, despite the whole tension between humans and Faunus. Maybe after they graduate, he'll ask Zion if he could put in a custom order to upgrade Chaos and Destruction...

There was a knock on his door, breaking Hedge out of his thoughts. He looked up to see the nurse walking in.

Nurse: "Afternoon Mr. Badnic. How are you feeling today?"

Hedge: "All things considered, not too bad. You here to finish the tests?"

Nurse: "Yes. The aura suppressants we gave you should have worn off during the night, but either way, you weren't exactly injured from your match yesterday, even despite taking hits from your opponents."

Hedge paused at that. He remembered what had happened before he conked out. Whatever power he accessed against Wave, he remembered taking hits from her weapon, but he didn't feel anything. As for when he took on Jet, he felt like the power...evolved. His speed and strength increased drastically, and before he knew it, Jet was on the ground, aura depleted. He was honestly surprised Oz and the General didn't disqualify him. "I see," he finally said to the nurse.

The nurse walked over to him and checked on his heart monitor, making sure everything was normal regarding his body temperature, oxygen levels, standard medical procedures. He never was one to get injured a lot, even on his solo missions. His semblance was so versatile, not to mention with a lot of defensive abilities, that he didn't necessarily have to worry about getting hurt. Leonidas being the tank of his team and being able to draw the aerial Grimm's attention was a godsend, and Zion picking off stragglers with his pistols helped cover any blind spots. Anne and Hedge would always be on the front lines taking care of the groups of Grimm, and they were so well coordinated with each other, you'd believe they were already graduated Huntsmen.

Hedge resumed his attention back to his scroll to watch Yang and Weiss' match while the nurse continued jotting down his numbers on her scroll. He noticed that Weiss was already knocked out, aura depleted entirely due to sacrificing herself to try and eliminate Flynt with her curtesy of a fire geyser. However Flynt had a sliver of aura left to keep him still in the fight. A flick of the finger could push him under the threshold. Yang seemed to throw all caution out the window, activating her semblance in time with multiple fire geysers spewing at once. She used Ember Celica to destroy parts of the arena to try and trip up Neon.

Fighting in roller skates? Now Hedge has seen everything. Flynt used his semblance, which with a tap of Flynt's picture, he was able to see what it was called, "Killer Quartet." Being able to split himself in four copies, all mimicking what the original was doing, however this wouldn't help the boy, as Yang clogged up the main Flynt's trumpet, causing a reverb back on the boy, eliminating him with a sound of the buzzer.

As for Neon, she was seen trying to skate her way through the crumbled up arena, however her foot caught an uneven part of it, causing her to drop into a roll, and if it wasn't perfect timing, she rolled into a geyser, flinging her up into the air. Yang smiled and fired a fire dust round at the Faunus girl, exploding in the air like a firework, eliminating her and winning the match for Team RWBY.

Nurse: "Alright. Your numbers look normal. Just a few things. No pain anywhere, right?"

Hedge: "None at all."

Nurse: "Lastly, if anything comes up like that again, you let the Headmaster know right away."

Hedge: "Will do."

Nurse: "Then very well. You are clear to head back to your team. I'll mess the Headmaster that you are clear to return to the tournament." She detaches everything hooked up to him, letting his aura start to heal up any spots where the medical equipment were attached to him.

Hedge: "Thank you." He heads out the room, and starts to head back to his team. More than likely they're still at Amity for the very last few matches of the Doubles, or those are already finished and they are preparing for the 1-on-1 Finals.

"This will be the year."
