Konnor arrived in class, much to Chloe's displeasure. He took his regular seat at the back and then gave a smile to Marinette when she arrived which she returned with equal friendliness.
Chloe look like a volcano that erupted, "Only a few days in school and you're already buddy-buddy with the Baker Girl! Thats ridiculous, it's-"
"Let me guess, 'Utterly ridiculous'." He interjected, much to the surprise of his other classmates. "I don't know why you've got so much beef with her. She's a good person. Everyone is. The only person that seems to have a real problem here is you."
Chloe let out a bewildered gasp but just sat back in her seat, whipping her head away while scheming on what she would do to get back at him. Miss. Bustier walked into the class soon after and started off by giving them a History Project they were to deliver in front of the class in about two days.
Hearing that, Chloe grinned mischievously.
Konnor, along with some of his classmates (Marinette, Alya, Nino, Juleka and Rose) went to the Arts and Crafts Club in their school where they were given some materials they would use to complete their project which was about prominent figures in history. After that, he dropped his stuff at the house boat and headed out to meet Marinette at her place for another pastry-making lesson which had become a regular thing but Luka stopped him.
"You're going to Marinette's place again, aren't you? I know this might be asking for much but could you get her to tell you why she hasn't been speaking to me? I'd really like to see her again." Luka requested and his step-cousin nodded with a warm smile.
"I'll try mentioning it."
"Thanks, Konnor. You're the best."
Konnor headed out. Running through the streets, he passed André the Ice Cream maker but he didn't have time for icecream right now. "Sorry, André, maybe next time." He waved off but then a large shadow was cast over him. He looked up to see a large monster about to step on him but in the nick of time, a yoyo wrapped around his torso and he was pulled out of the way.
"Cat Noir! I think I know where the Amok is. I need to find Baby August! Distract it for me!" Ladybug, after making sure he was out of harm's way, was off using her magic weapon to propel her.
Konnor's eyes widened in realization that he had just had his first encounter with the superhero duo. "Yoo-hoo! Over here, Lolipop man." Cat Noir teased the Lolipop monster (which was a Senti-monster). It struck with it's large ball hand and destroyed the pavement almost completely but Cat Noir jumped atop it and ran up its arm until he was at his head and assaulted it with his stick.
"So cool!" Konnor exclaimed with stars in his eyes as he hid by an alley way. Cat Noir was doing well parrying and dodging the Lolipop monster's attacks and it didn't take long until it ceased to exist after Ladybug had located the object that hid the amok and purified it. Her miraculous ladybugs flew over Paris, repairing all damages caused by the Senti-monster.
"To think, I didn't have to use my cataclysm this time. It was all thanks to your quick thinking, M'lady."
"I couldn't have done it without you, kitty."
"Pound it." They fist-bumped before going their seperate ways. Konnor got up from the alley way.
"That was so freaking cool!" He exclaimed.
"Spots off!" She detransformed out of sight at her balcony before heading back into her room. "Whew. That was a close one. I almost transformed back." Marinette left her room and went down the stairs and it seemed her new classmate, Konnor had just arrived at the bakery as well.
They got to baking and in the midst of it, Konnor popped the question when her parents had stepped out for a bit, "So umm... I know you and Luka broke up recently but why haven't you been speaking to him? I thought you guys ended on good terms."
Marinette's eyes widened in surprised but then saddened. "The reason Luka and I broke up in the first place... is because I kept secrets from him. Secrets I couldn't tell anyone. I'm afraid that if I get close to him again, I might break his hear with more secrets."
Konnor raised his eyebrows in a mix of worry and curiosity. "What kind of secrets were you keeping from him?"
"Important ones. Ones that no one should know. Let's get back to baking, shall we? These macaroons aren't gonna make themselves." Marinette changed the topic and since it seemed she didn't want to talk about it, he left it alone and just focused on baking.
Something weird that he noticed was that while Marinette thought he wasn't looking, she would sneak pieces of croissant into her handbag. 'What kind of secrets could this girl be keeping?' He pondered.
Konnor stood in front of the class with his computer out and connected to the huge screen in front of the class as well as his physical presentation.
"Oh, my gosh! An akumatized villain!"
"What?!" Marinette, Adrien and Konnor exclaimed simultaneously. Outside the class, they could see what seemed to be Kim dressed in cardboard cut out outfits pretending to be an akumatized villain but it had done the job since everyone was outside the class. All except Chloe who rushed over to Konnor's laptop and tampered with it.
"Let's see what we have here."
Eventually, Miss. Bustier had reprimanded Kim and they all went back into the classroom. Marinette narrowed her eyes in suspicion since Chloe looked to be awfully pleased with herself.
"Now, my project is on Frane Selak, otherwise known as the most unfortunate man in history. Now-" Konnor typed on his laptop but was completely bewildered to see his whole project had vanished. The digital presentation he had made had completely disappeared.
After a while of searching, he panicked as he couldn't find it. That's when Chloe intercepted, "Looks like you're not the goody-two shoes everyone thinks you are. He forgot to do his assignment." She giggled, enjoying herself.
Miss Bustier felt the same as well. "Konnor, don't tell me you didn't do the digital aspect of the assignment."
"Of course he did, Miss. Bustier." Juleka wanted to say but all that came from her mouth were inaudible mumbles, partly because Chloe had threatened her with a glare to remain quiet.
Marinette wanted to say something but it looked like what had happened had gotten to Konnor's nerves and she had never seen him angry before. Even when baking and he made a mistake or ended up overheating a pastry, he never got upset. Unbeknownst to her, what had happened had triggered a memory of his.
He ran out of the class in anger and locked himself in the bathroom. 'He's such a phony. Loser.' He remembered kids from his own school telling him such things when someone else had copied his unique assignment and got rid of his, making him look like a liar. He hated being called a liar.
"She did it, didn't she? Chloe!!"
An akuma passed through the windows in the bathroom and fused into one of his silver earrings. A face mask appeared around him. A male voice spoke into his mind.
"Grimcat, I am Shadowmoth. She's made a mockery out of you, hasn't she? She's convinced everyone that you're nothing more than a liar. I'm going to give you the power to get revenge on her." He submitted to Shadowmoth and transformed into a new akumatized villain. He gained black skin with sharp claws, cat ears and a tail as well as blue clover patterns all over him.
"My presentation is on-" Before Rose could continue further, the class room door busted down and Grimcat made his way into the class.
"It's a supervillain!"
"Konnor?!!" Marinette exclaimed after noticing the silver earrings on the akumatized villain's ears. Grimcat leaped from his position and then appeared standing on Chloe's desk before grabbing her, destroying a wall and escaping with her.
"One of you losers help me!!!" Chloe shrieked as he took her away. Grimcat was about to make another leap when Roger, Sabrina's father and also one of the policecops stopped him with numerous police next to him.
"Hand over the girl." He asked.
Grimcat extended his hand outward and a blue clover attack was released, hitting Roger head on. At first, it looked like nothing happened to him but he manifested a black halo over his head.
Then, on a road nearby, a person's car brake began to malfunction until they hit a street lamp which broke off and was about to squat the policecop but Cat Noir appeared and used his stick to whip it away. After that, the black halo around Roger's body had disappeared but Grimcat had escaped in that time, making his way to the Eiffel Tower.
Ladybug arrived on the scene where she insisted that the police let them handle it before Cat Noir briefed her on the akumatized villain. "It's like he manipulates luck. That person's car brake suddenly malfunctioned and that car is brand new."
"But from the looks of it, it only works once and then wears off afterwards. We might need some against this one," Ladybug pulled a miraculous from her yoyo and it was none other than the miraculous of the Monkey, "And I know just the hero."
Grimcat left Chloe dangling on the pointed top of the Eiffel Tower. He hit her with the luck blast. "Don't move even an inch unless you want to end up as a mess on the sidewalk."
He had to hold off on his revenge and defeat Ladybug and Cat Noir first.
"Lucky Charm!" He heard the heroine call upon her superpower and before he knew it, he was cornered with Ladybug using a pogostick( her lucky charm to tie his arms back).
"Up roar!" King Monkey created a stuffed monkey toy which he was about to throw at the villain but the latter overpowered Ladybug, grabbing her shoulders and throwing her to the ground before dodging Cat Noir's attack from above and then hitting the feline superhero with the luck attack.
"No!"
A transport plane which was flying began to have trouble and its luggage compartment came upon and a huge refridgerator fell down and to Cat Noir's exact location but Ladybug's yo-yo wrapped around it and in one hard squeeze, she destroyed it before it could do any real harm.
"Thanks, M'lady." Cat Noir's black halo disappeared but then another one appeared around Ladybug who had been hit twice from behind since she had left herself wide open.
"No!" King Monkey sprinted to the villain in an instant. Grimcat released another attack but the hero parried it with his stick and hit him right in the face with the stuffed toy.
Ladybug's halo came undone and she quickly tied the villain with her yoyo. "Cataclysm!" Cat Noir destroyed both his earrings and the akuma was released which Ladybug captured and purified. She threw her Lucky Charm into the air and repaired all the damages caused by Grimcat.
Ladybug escorted Konnor to school and then in a few minutes, Marinette appeared to comfort him as well as Alya, Juleka and Rose, assuring them that none of them thought he was a liar.
However, what lingered is his mind was, 'I can't believe I was defeated by Cat Noir and Ladybug and I don't remember any of it.' Konnor sighed, "Ahh, man."
