The next three days had passed by swiftly. The dinner was wonderfully done with wedding gifts revealed, and Makoto was able to see the footage from The Castle in full after the adopted youths left. He did want to meet up with Taichi, so he was allowed to stay for the dinner. Gelek and Rabten had stopped by a couple times to talk and ensure that Saiki knew how to prepare the next batch of salve. The Survive Bar was also visited, and Osamu was gifting them with the best bottle of champagne he had.
As much as they wanted an at home day, it just couldn't be done. The builders needed blueprints, Saiki had to visit the Geomijul to start up a training room, and she was busy working with The Castle on the next fighting event. The days flew by without even realizing it, and now they were four hours away from their flight to Hawaii.
"Did you set the beef cuts in the air fryer?" Kiryu asked while making breakfast with his wife.
"I did. We have ten minutes until they are done. I can't believe we were given one as a wedding gift!" she laughed.
"Yes. The kids helped us unwrap everything, didn't they?" he chuckled. "We packed what we needed, right?"
"I have a suitcase full of basic things with room to spare for souvenirs," she smiled warmly. "We should leave right after eating. I would rather be at the airport early than late."
"Right. I have the tickets on my phone with our ID cards in my wallet. Same with our passports. I did find it amusing that the Daidoji sent you a passport a couple days ago. They really want to get on your good side. Anyways, we'll be busy when we get back," Kiryu sighed. "Shiro took a few of your books to study. Same with the others to start learning things they wanted to do to start a profession. They want to help us as much as they can."
"I made a note of what was taken to show 'on loan' for now. They were all excited about the pregnancy," she laughed softly.
"Haruka was adamant to start living here to help. Maybe we can make a separate living area for her. An estate under the estate…" Kiryu mused.
"That would be a neat idea," she nodded. "But I have a list of things to do the moment we land in Hawaii."
"Go over them with me?" he asked and sat with her. She leaned into him to think on the next few things to do.
"We check out the hotel gift from the Daidoji. We see who is able to get rooms nearby that came with us. Then I take care of that job," she said seriously. "Right after that, we retreat to the hotel. And we don't leave until we're ready."
"I like that," he nodded. "Oh. Do we pick up a pregnancy test?"
"I already have one packed."
"Ah. Good. At least you've been feeling better."
"I think those vitamins are helping. And the improvement to the shit drink," she giggled softly at his kiss to her cheek. "I've also been reading that the first three months are very critical. So I'll want to get checked out the moment I feel something is wrong."
"I would insist on it," Kiryu nodded. He saw his phone buzzing and he answered it. "Kasuga? What's up?"
"You're not gonna believe this. I went down to the prison when Makoto asked me to stop by. Yamai wanted to chat with me…" Kasuga said. Kiryu blinked and put the phone on speaker.
"Saiki, do you recall someone by the name of Yamai?" Kiryu asked.
"Hmm….ah…" Saiki blinked. "Yutaka Yamai. Murdered his patriarch?"
"That's the one. He was set up by the patriarch's wife. She was having an affair with him," Kiryu sighed. "He gave himself up after fleeing to Hawaii and coming back on an agreement."
"He eventually helped my mom. And he went to confront that lady, too, but she has full on dementia now," Kasuga said sadly. "Anyways, Yamai saw you on the live news video, Sai-chan. He said…he knew who you were."
"Did he really?" Saiki asked with complete mistrust. "It's interesting. I was almost given the job to hunt him down. Almost. But the entire family of that patriarch was already hunting him down. I was not to be exposed. But it was discussed with information on if it would be a go or not. It was not."
"Did he tell you what he knew of her?" Kiryu asked.
"Not really. He was very vague," Kasuga said with confusion.
"He's trying to bait me. He's going to fail. I have to get to the airport. He can sit and rot. Maybe, if I have interest, I'll check into him when we get back. Right now? Fuck him," Saiki smirked. Kiryu was already nodding.
"He almost beat down Kiryu-san," Kasuga said with a frown in his tone.
"What?" Saiki asked with alarm.
"It's fine. He ended up having his personal doctor look at me after," Kiryu said to calm her down.
"Kiryu-san, he set a forest on fire, had his men gang up on you and you were puking up blood!" Kasuga said with a form of panic.
"Change of plans. We're paying a visit to a jail on our way to the airport," Saiki said. "Because he will know that if he ever gets out, I will be there to make him feel pain unlike ever before."
"No," Kiryu said sternly. "Just forget about him."
"Kazuma, I can't," she said.
"Yes, you can," he said and gave a small growl of enticement in her ear.
"Fine. But…if he does get out…I want to know," she said adamantly.
"Yeah. I can let you know. Because I'll want to know, too," Kasuga agreed. "As much as he helped us, he's…unpredictable. He's loyal, but unpredictable when he wants to be."
"That's fine," Kiryu agreed and disconnected the call. Then he sighed in thought with a shake of his head.
"What is it?" she frowned before getting up to take out the steaks. She sliced them up expertly to plate and serve them.
"Just…thinking of another of Ebina's victims…" he muttered and started to eat. "One by the name of Sawashiro."
"I see," she frowned and was quick to start eating. "What happened to him? Did he die?"
"He may as well have!" he grimaced. "An eye was taken out. His teeth were pulled. Nails removed. He was last in a hospital…but I don't know of anything else. He was a story, too, on helping Kasuga find his mother. He was also trying to push the Second Dissolution through. He was giving us information in secret about Ebina. As for Kasuga's mother, I was sent to find her, too, by the Daidoji. It was just…one giant mess."
"Talk to me?" she asked. He nodded and told her what he knew. She absorbed everything and found herself thinking. "If we know where he is…"
"We should check on him. Maybe when we get back," he agreed. Then he looked at the time. "We need to get going. Now."
"Tomi just texted me. He's on his way," Seonhee chuckled. They cleaned up the dishes quickly, and she put a note to clean the air fryer on return. He grabbed their suitcases, and she put a security timer in the main computer. "There. If anyone tries to get in, I'll be notified instantly."
"Good. Let's go," he said. She ensured she had her jewelry, his false glasses and her belt. She had optioned to wear her red corset, pants and cardigan outfit for the trip. She did pack away two extra outfits that would be easy to clean and swap around. He looked at his phone from a text he got and grunted. "Interesting. The Daidoji keep surprising us now."
"What?" she frowned.
"We are going on one of their planes. To ensure airport security won't stop us," he smirked. "Fine. They can butler us for now."
"Hmm. What do we do about our tickets?" she frowned.
"They already had those refunded…" he blinked with surprise.
"Huh…" she mused. They saw Tomi's minivan waiting when they locked up the elevator to hide it away. "Are the others included on this…private jet?"
"They are," Kiryu sighed. "Very well."
"Hey! Ah…what's going on?" Tomi asked.
"We have a flight change. Where are the others?" he asked and let his wife settle in his lap.
"We're meeting up with them at the airport. I have Zhao, though!" Tomi chuckled. Zhao waved from the front seat.
"My assistant manager will handle things. I was told to take a vacation," Zhao laughed softly. "I figured I would get some unique ideas while out there. The staff told me to do it. And the, ah, ice cream that Saiki did is an absolute hit! I actually ran out."
"Wow," Saiki laughed softly. Then she sighed and snuggled into her husband with complete exhaustion.
"Darling?" Kiryu frowned and cradled her.
"I've never felt so tired…" she frowned.
"Sleep. We've done a lot in the last few days," he muttered and stroked a lock of her hair. He felt her relax, and he chuckled softly. "That's it. Just rest."
She gave over her weight to him when sleep claimed her. He knew they had a twenty minute drive, so he gave small gestures that she was sleeping. He had a protective hand over her belly, too, while gazing out the window. He felt his phone buzzing in a pocket, and he answered it on seeing who it was. "Haruka? Is everything okay? I'm on the way to the airport with your mother."
"I know. I just wanted to know if I could access the underground home. I wanted to help get started on a baby room," she chuckled.
"Ah. Well, Saiki already locked the place down. You'll have to wait until we get back. But, you can start gathering supplies," he chuckled back. "We also don't have a free room yet. We need to expand the place to do it."
"Okay. I can start ordering supplies and furniture. Where can I store it all?" she asked. "I really want to get going on this."
"Hmm. Call Seonhee. She may have some ideas," he suggested. The call disconnected, and he blinked at another call coming in. He answered it, "Hello?"
"Ah. Kazuma Kiryu. The Dragon. Long time…no talk…" the voice drawled. "Please…don't hang up. I was given only one phone call. Your friend, ah…Makoto. He dialed the number."
"Yamai," Kiryu said with a grim tone.
"You remember me. That's nice," he mused.
"I'm on the way to the airport. Because if my wife meets you, you are likely dead. And I mean…dead," he warned. "I don't care if you know who she is. But she knows who you are. She was almost given the mission to kill you. But it was called off. I am saving your life this way. Don't meet her. She knows you beat the crap out of me at my worst in illness. It's not worth it."
"And you know why I called. Very well. But I did have a message for her," Yamai said calmly. "If you will hear it?"
"Depending on the message, I will deliver it. But I will hear you out."
"Always the negotiator. Fine. Yosuke Tendo…sends his regards," Yamai snickered softly. Kiryu's eyes widened.
"He…has not been heard of since his arrest…" Kiryu muttered out.
"True. But…someone bailed him out. It was offered…to bail me out, too. So…someone is trying to build…something," Yamai mused. "I told this to Makoto. He doesn't know who's buying out people. An offer for my freedom is in the process of being made."
"Return this message. Leave me and my wife out of this. Or everyone will die," Kiryu said with a low growl. "And I will not be the one who leaves a bloodbath. I saw what my wife can do. If she was with me in the forest when it caught fire…your corpse would be ashes on the ground. Including everyone you had under you. And all of them would be missing their heads. Including you."
"That's…" Yamai paused.
"She doesn't think about killing. She just does it. You can be out there gloating and drop dead. She has no thoughts when it comes to killing another. That's how she was trained. And the only one she protects in full is me. If I tell her I'm threatened…hell. She found Ebina when he tried to hide. She forced him to work for her or die when he stepped forward again. I don't know if she'll do the same for you."
"Huh. Maybe I should work for her. That's…if I'm freed. Hmm. My time to talk is up. So…maybe…I'll see you around," Yamai chuckled.
"I will hope not," Kiryu grunted out and disconnected the call.
"If he's freed…" Saiki muttered.
"You listened in?" he frowned.
"To everything. And Tendo…hmm…it's familiar…" she blinked. "I only heard that name once. I think…"
"His Clan disbanded after he got arrested. But…if he's free now…" he grimaced and ran a hand over his face.
"If we are approached, just…let me end the problem," she grinned. Then she snickered at his amused glare at her.
"It won't come to that," he smirked. She rose up in his arms at the sight of the airport coming into view and pressed a deep kiss to his mouth.
"I just realized…I need a USB headset," she frowned.
"For what?" he asked.
"My computer in the pole is also my music player," she grinned. "So I need a headset. Maybe we can buy one here?"
"I'm sure they have an electronic store," Zhao chuckled. "If anyone asks about that staff, you can just say it's a custom built music player."
"Want to know something even funnier? It's coated with an alloy that won't get picked up by scanners. So I can say it's plastic cosplay material," she grinned.
"Seriously?" Kiryu asked and got her laughing. "Anyways, we won't be going in the normal way."
"I'll still be questioned with my daggers, though," she sighed. Kiryu's phone buzzed again, and he answered it.
"Yes?" he grunted. "I see. We just arrived. My wife needs a USB headset. "Ah, I don't know what type of slot…"
"USB A," she said.
"USB A. Apparently," he said. "Thanks. Okay, you have someone appear to wave and we'll follow."
"I got someone waving now," Tomi said on catching sight of a woman in a suit waving at them. The call disconnected shortly after, and Tomi drove up to the woman. She got in and directed on where to go. When she looked over at Kiryu and Saiki, Kiryu had to move slightly to keep his wife from getting irritated.
"Easy," Kiryu muttered.
"I know…" she muttered back.
"I did have a gift for her," the woman said.
"Any strings attached?" Saiki asked warily.
"None," the woman confirmed. Kiryu gestured for it and was handed a golden keycard. "That unlocks an exclusive room in the hotel you will be going to. It's normally reserved for our top leaders when they go out to Hawaii. Just leave the key on the table when you are at the end of your stay. We shall retrieve it."
"You had a Daidoji hideout in something resembling a hole in the wall. When we could have been in a luxury resort hotel?!" Tomi had to ask.
"Sting operations are best done in wall holes," the woman said calmly.
"I was given a hotel room. But a sting operation? Best to keep things in tight spaces for added defense," Kiryu nodded.
"Smart," Saiki nodded. "I can understand that. Oh. This flight we're going on. Are there private rooms on it?"
"Not really. But it has a nice bathroom," the woman said neutrally.
"Good. If my husband and I go in it together…don't get worried," Saiki grinned a bit wickedly. That actually got the woman to cough and hold back a laugh at the thought.
"You are hilarious," Kiryu muttered with a grin.
"We discussed it. We're doing it. Literally," Saiki grinned back at him. They pulled up to a private parking garage for reserved guests, and she frowned. "I have others that are to travel with me."
"They are arriving now," the woman nodded. "We reached out to Kasuga. He was able to spread the message."
"Fine," Saiki said and looked over to see two other cars pull up.
"Hey!" Ugajin chuckled with a wave when he stepped out of Joongi's car. Chi-chan was chatting happily with Sa-chan on what they were going to do. Kiryu got out of Tomi's minivan and pulled Saiki into his arms to carry her.
"I should walk," she said.
"No," he grinned and kissed her before facing the others. "Who's here?"
"You know we are," Tomi said with Zhao standing by him.
"Us, too," Seonhee nodded. She stood next to Joongi and looked over at Kasuga, Chi-chan, Sa-chan and Ugajin.
"We're here!" Nanba said on getting out of the car with Adachi, Goro, Taiga and Daigo. "The monks are getting out now."
"I see that," Saiki said while glancing over to Gelek and Rabten. "I don't know where all of you will be staying."
"Find a place. Let us know. We'll cover it," Kiryu said without thinking about it. "Just don't disturb my wife and I until we call you. The moment we land, we are going to check out the hotel. Then she wants to get her job done."
"Send me descriptions of the man. Because if you don't know what he looks like, then there is no job," Saiki warned Rabten.
"I planned to walk around for a while to see if I would be recognized. I will use myself as bait," Rabten said calmly.
"Ah. Good. You do that," Saiki nodded.
"Fine. We'll leave our phones on while at the hotel. But, the moment she has that job done, we are to be undisturbed," her husband said.
"And…if no one appears, or if there is a new target…" he thought aloud.
"If there is none aside from the original person, we pay you. Then we are done," Kiryu growled with complete protective warning.
"Oh. Of course…" Rabten swallowed.
"It's confirmed that my wife is pregnant. If you ever get a wife of your own, got her pregnant and wanted her to go out into the thick of battle…would you do it?" Kiryu asked him directly.
"Oh! Well…" Rabten faltered.
"I didn't think so," Kiryu grunted. Then he looked at the suited woman. "If he's on the same flight, keep him far away from me and my wife."
"That can be done," she nodded. Rabten frowned at this, but he knew he had proven himself untrustworthy for now. He planned to change that as much as possible if he wanted to do further business with them. They followed the suited woman to a series of airport buggies to load up on. Luggage was moved, and the vehicles left like a small wagon train guided by other Daidoji members.
"This plane is larger than the regular commercial plane…" Kiryu frowned when he saw their transport in the distance.
"True. This is a specialized plane used for Daidoji needs. It's a luxury plane that is rarely used for passengers, but it was decided to utilize it for your transport back and forth as a trusted venture with partnership. As well as our way to apologize for our past actions," the woman explained.
"Hmm…" Saiki frowned hard. Kiryu only nodded and kissed her forehead. They were driven to the far opposite side of the airport to where the large plane was waiting. A separate runway was also here to show it was clearly for private flights. Flight crew started to load up the suitcases, and the door opened for them to walk up the stairs. Kiryu and Saiki were led to a semi-private cabin that looked like a hotel room. The others were led to basic seating.
"Ah, what's gonna happen to the cars?" Tomi asked.
"I second that question," Joongi asked.
"Don't worry. Give over the keys. I have men waiting nearby to drive them back to the Geomijul headquarters. They'll be back here to meet us when we're back in Japan," Seonhee nodded. This was done, and Tomi gave a wary glance at his minivan being driven away carefully. Seonhee chuckled and said, "My men are skilled drivers. If they mess up your ride, I mess them up."
"Fine," Tomi sighed and gave in.
"The Daidoji know how to spoil…" Kiryu mused at the luxury cabin he and his wife were to use. He sat with her in a luxury leather seat to buckle down and had her do the same to the seat next to him by the window. She did smile at the sight of a packaged USB headset waiting for her on the chair. This was opened, tested and put away for later use. Then she sighed and shivered. He looked at her with concern.
"I've never…been on a flight normally before…" Saiki said softly.
"I made sure you sat next to a window," he chuckled. He lifted the protective cover to let her see out. He noticed she was completely fascinated.
"I will need a book…on flight mechanics…" she muttered out softly.
"Build our own aircraft?" he grinned.
"Not sure. It depends on if I can even get the parts. I'll have to see," she chuckled and leaned into him. Now she looked around the small cabin and pointed at the bathroom. He grinned a touch wickedly and growled in her ear.
"The moment we are stabilized in flight. We'll have an eight hour ride to Hawaii," he chuckled. "We will feel a bit of jet lag."
"I'm sure. I've never been to Hawaii. So…this will be interesting," she nodded and heard the captain say the plane was boarded and ready. Kiryu watched her with complete amusement at how she was fixated on the plane moving. She closed her eyes to gauge the momentum. She felt the parts around her moving and building in power for speed. Then she opened her eyes to see the landscape speeding past them before the plane lifted in a weightless, elevator-like effect to rise. She was completely absorbed in the new sensations and almost didn't hear her husband trying to get her attention.
"Are you all right?" he asked carefully.
"I am. You forget. The only flights I was part of was when I was hidden away in a crate. This is the first time that I can put sensations to true surroundings. I can see how the motion is now. That first crate flight…I thought I would die…" she whispered and pressed into him. "It was my first flight to Tibet…"
"To kill Gelek?" he frowned.
"Yes. After he helped me…fixed my mind…he asked how I got there. I told him. He…freaked out. But he understood why. He just couldn't understand what I was given to travel with. So…he gave me a bag of jerky to pack away. Three more bottles of water. Even a roll of toilet paper," she smiled softly.
"I see…" Kiryu frowned harder. "Did the patriarchs even know?"
"I don't think they were ever told on how I was travelling. Or they knew, but had no idea what I was to use to travel with. Dog Catcher was in the luxury first class. He picked me up like I was excess baggage," she winced.
"He used you…to no end…" he growled and tensed with rage. "And you couldn't do anything about it."
"I couldn't…" she shivered.
"I am treating you like an absolute queen during this trip," he vowed. "You deserve no less. And if anyone says anything about it…they can kiss my ass."
"No," she laughed softly. "No one is allowed to touch you. Just me."
"Of course," he sighed and looked out the window with her now. "Look at that. That's all of Japan."
"Ah!" she gasped with delight. "It's so different seeing it for myself. I've only seen aerial photos. I did have a small…daring idea…"
"What's that?"
"I want to…see if I can find an island. And buy it."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"I'm sure we can scout for one. But why buy it?"
"An emergency safe house."
"I see!"
"I'm sure it would take a year of intense fund raising, but I want to do this. Just start building on it right away as our own vacation getaway. I would make it an exact replica of the underground home, too. A small house on top. Everything else underneath. So…we'd need it to be a relatively large island…" she mused.
"We can look into that," he nodded. The captain soon announced over the intercoms that the flight was stable and walking around was allowed. He leaned over to unhook their seatbelts and had her sit in his lap in her seat to look out the window with her. She saw the clouds pass by. She watched Japan slowly move out of sight, but she kept her eyes scanning for any island she could find.
"It's like…nothing past the land. All ocean…" she mused.
"I'm sure there's some islands around, but to find them? That would be a feat," he smiled. "Even then, we don't really have any form of civilization if there's a problem. We would truly be on our own."
"That is true," she frowned at that thought. "We might be able to install a form of satellite services…"
"That would be an idea," he agreed.
"Food storage…"
"Of course."
"A medical bay of sorts…"
"The wheels are turning?" he grinned.
"Too much," she sighed and laughed. Then she blinked when he lifted her up in his arms to stand and walk her into the bathroom. "Already?!"
"Yes…" he grunted with a form of eagerness. He set her on the counter and locked the door to show it was occupied.
"What am I going to do with you?" she sighed. She gazed up into his smoldering gaze of desire and let him kiss her with a ravenous hunger.
"Let me love you…" he mumbled and kissed her again. She went speechless at his advances. The sensations were completely euphoric when they finally came back around. He had her legs fully wrapped around his hips, and he was trying to recover from everything.
"My loveable idiot…" she sighed and rested against his exposed chest.
"All yours…" he muttered thickly. After five minutes, they were able to separate and dress back up. On opening the bathroom door, he led her out to see Kasuga looking at them both with shock. "Oh. Hey."
"What…?" Kasuga frowned.
"I wanted her. So…I took her into the bathroom. I knew we would be looked for. I couldn't wait," Kiryu smirked and pulled Saiki into his lap when they sat back down. "What's going on?"
"I was just checking in on you both. You have a pretty nice place to travel!" Kasuga grinned. "Do we have any other plans?"
"My wife wants to purchase an island off the coast of Japan. As a place for emergency living," Kiryu nodded. "I told her we would look into it."
"Oh! That would be pretty nice…" he grinned. "I'll go mention it to the others. I'm sure we would all want to go for that!"
"It would just be a getaway for me and my husband. Not often would we have visitors. Just remember that," she said. "This is in case something comes up with us and we need to get off the mainland for now."
"Ah! Right! Hmm. I'm sure the others will still go for it," Kasuga nodded and walked off through the privacy curtains.
"Not what I wanted…" Saiki grimaced.
"We have plenty of time to decide what to do. For now, though? Let's enjoy the flight. Did you want to watch a movie?" he asked and brought up the television. She sighed and shook her head. "What do you want to do?"
"I just…want to be with you…" she smiled.
"I'll watch a movie. You rest and listen in," he soothed. She nodded and let him cradle her while working with the television remote. He found a comedy to play and set the seat back. Drinks were soon brought to them with snacks. Alcohol was declined in favor of sparkling flavored water. He stroked a lock of her hair while watching the movie and adjusted himself when she fell asleep. His gaze cut to the next one that came in with a silent warning for no loud noises.
"She sleeps," Gelek smiled and walked over to sit with them.
"Yes. She told me…how her first 'flight' was. Hardly a flight," Kiryu grunted. "I'm glad you helped her."
"She remembered. That's good. Yes. I made sure she had supplies that she could hide on her. I'm sure she passed off the story that she stole a bag of supplies. I'm glad they let her keep it."
"Her captor really treated her like an animal. He kept her submissive with fear. But I know she would have killed him if she knew she had a way out. She tried so hard to find me again. I'm trying to remember the patriarch that was in charge. I thought it was Patriarch Watase…but I don't think it was," Kiryu frowned. "I had a few meetings with Patriarch Tojo, but…"
"No one gave you any answers," Gelek frowned.
"No. No one did," Kiryu nodded at the memory. "Goro, though…he knew of her. Not who she was or anything more. It was only during this new meeting with her that she almost sliced off his head when he insulted her."
"She almost killed him?" Gelek mused.
"Yes. I asked her not to kill anyone unless I gave the word as her new employer. She used her scythe as distraction and almost gutted him open with a sickle. He learned right there…not to mess with her," Kiryu mused.
"I'm sure! Anyways, I'll leave you be for now. I'm keeping an eye on Rabten," the monk said and rose up to leave.
"Thank you. For saving my life," Saiki said before he fully left the area.
"And thank you for saving my brother. And sparing my life," Gelek chuckled. Kiryu nodded as he left and looked at his wife.
"You would have sought him out if you went to Tibet?" he asked her.
"Yes. He said he saw me as a sister, too. It would have made the most sense. But…I am curious of something…" she mused and reached around the sides of the chair they were on. "Ah! I was right…"
"What?" he asked. Then he realized that the chair was extending out into a recliner. She pressed another button for the vibrating feature. He found himself stretching out to fully relax on it. She now moved to stretch out against him and move her hands behind his head to massage. "Why…do we not have…one of these…?!"
"We need to shop for one. Don't we?" she grinned.
"I've heard how…people don't want to leave them when in them…" he muttered. "I was skeptical. Now I know…"
"They say recliners also confirm the age of a man," she grinned. "But I wouldn't really care."
"Mmm…" he could only agree and close his eyes. "I think…a nap is in order now…"
"Should I wake you if we get fed?" she chuckled.
"Yeah…" he placed his arms securely around her and enjoyed the massaging from the chair and her hands. She had just nestled into him with her own form of comfort when she caught Seonhee walking over.
"He's resting?" she chuckled.
"Yes," Saiki nodded. "I'll wake him when it's time for lunch."
"Ah. That may be in an hour or two. Hmm. I was wondering if Joongi and I could…examine your bathroom…?" she asked. Saiki grinned and gestured to go for it. After that, she snuggled back down into her husband's sleeping form. She only rested lightly, though. She didn't even hear Seonhee and Joongi enter the bathroom and leave ten minutes later. It was when a flight attendant came in with a warm smile that Saiki opened her eyes to glance over.
"The captain would like to show you the cockpit. It was told you had never been on a flight before, and we would like to give you a tour of the aircraft," the attendant chuckled.
"Oh! That's…generous…!" Saiki blinked. She nudged her husband to gently wake him up and even sang softly to help rouse him.
"Hmm?" Kiryu yawned and stretched.
"I am being invited to tour the airplane," she grinned.
"Oh! Hmm. Okay, I'll tour with you," he chuckled. "I'm sure we'll be able to eat after this?"
"Yes," the flight attendant nodded. He nodded and let his wife set the chair to how it was. He forced himself to move off of it with a small sigh.
"We'll invest in a massaging reclining couch," Saiki chuckled.
"Good," he laughed and walked behind her. They moved right into the cockpit, and Saiki's eyes moved all over the controls after meeting the captain and his co-pilot. The co-pilot moved out of the way to let her see the entire control console. She started to ask what each dial did, how each switch worked and started to get into the primary functions she saw.
"You are the first one to pick my brain so thoroughly!" the captain laughed.
"It's my first time seeing all of this. And this is my first true flight," she shrugged. "So I am genuinely curious of everything."
"Really?" the captain asked.
"It really is," Kiryu nodded.
"I've been on a helicopter, but a passenger plane? Especially a luxury class one? This is a first," Saiki smiled. Then she started to ask where the fuel came from and the materials to build the aircraft.
"Whoa!" the captain laughed. "All I know is how to fly this thing!"
"Yeah, some of that information you'd need to ask the actual airline company," the co-pilot chuckled.
"Ah. I was hoping to get more information," she frowned.
"I don't think someone like yourself would be interested in knowing how all of the schematics work," the captain started.
"My intelligence is 149. I know how to program microtechnology," Saiki said with a slight grin. "I have a photographic memory on top of that. If I want to build a plane…I'll do it."
"Ah!" the captain gaped at her.
"You may want to raise up your altitude. You're dropping," she pointed at a gauge. He blinked and quickly did just that. The co-pilot was speechless at what he was learning about her. "And, if what you said is correct, we're about to hit some turbulence from how the clouds are moving around us."
"You really do have a photographic memory!" the captain said with disbelief and had the co-pilot warn the other passengers of the turbulence. "It took me a month to know how to read charts, flight patterns and all of the gauges by heart! You just take one look and you know it!"
"It is a blessing and a curse to have this," she chuckled. "And a chart?"
"Look," he said in a rather serious, teaching tone. Now she was able to see the flight graphs, the latitude and longitude, as well as the digital map display to see how everything was on course. "We have a black box that records all of the information this plane has. It's like…a digital safe of information. If something goes down, it's recorded for analysis and research."
"Huh! Maybe I should have a black box of information. But my cloud database is also much like that. Everything I have is encrypted and trapped away if anyone tries to mess with it," she chuckled. "And I have a few databases in case one goes down. And everything is downloaded into an external hard drive."
"I have never met someone as intricate as you! Except for my teachers," he grinned. Then he looked around to grab a notepad to write something down. "I want you to look up this person. He has a lot of online classes that are mainly reader view, but this was what I used to learn a lot about flying."
"Thank you!" she said with a form of genuine delighted surprise. Then she blinked at a red light that was flashing. "Is that…supposed to do that?"
"What?" the captain blinked and checked. "No! It isn't!"
"What is that?" Kiryu asked.
"That's in the cargo bay…" the co-pilot frowned with concern.
"It's an airlock that's not sealed!" the captain grimaced. "Everything checked out when we took off!"
"Where is it located?" Saiki asked.
"By the landing gear…" he frowned.
"Normally planes have no space for anything else. Ours is a special case as it can transport other things. So, it's possible that something could have climbed in and hitched a ride using the landing gear. This is stuff you only see in movies," the co-pilot said with a hint of amusement.
"I think…we have a stowaway…" she grinned. "I can check it out."
"It wouldn't be safe," the captain started. Then he saw the sickle she pulled out. Even the co-pilot blinked with surprise at the weapon. She looked up at her husband with a grin. He looked down at her and rose up a hand to show it was safe and under control.
"Only if I'm with you," Kiryu said. Then he looked at the captain. "She's…a bit of an assassin. I'll leave it at that. I've seen her fight. She'll find the problem and fix it within ten minutes."
"Do you have a layout of the electrical grid?" Saiki asked.
"Ah…well…" the captain said with indecision.
"You have my vow. I will hurt no one. Everyone on this flight are allies that I hold in high regard. And all of them know how to fight," she grinned. "The moment I sound an alarm, they snap into gear. Especially the ones that work for me. They are always eager to see what they can do to help."
"Oh. Ah…okay. Here," the captain said and gave over the airplane blueprint. She examined it thoroughly on the digital tablet and moved right to where the others were seated.
"The cargo bay has a possible stowaway. We need to check it out. An airlock alarm was tripped," she said.
"On it!" Kasuga said.
"Oh?" Seonhee frowned and looked at Joongi. Zhao, Nanba, Adachi, Goro, Taiga and Daigo were already rising up.
"Do I join you?" Ugajin asked.
"Stand in front of where we go in to meet anyone that's trying to come out," Kiryu said. Ugajin was now rising up to do just that.
"I'm texting someone I know that has connections with the airline. This is just in case something bad happens," Chi-chan said and got right on her phone.
"That's fine. We need to move," Saiki nodded. The flight attendant was a bit nervous, but she led them to where the cargo bay was. The trap door was opened, and Saiki jumped down first with her husband joining her. "Tight quarters. I like this…"
"Calm…" he muttered. "I'm surprised the plane has this much space. I suppose it's needed for anything the Daidoji have to move around. It's like the co-pilot mentioned."
"True…" Saiki muttered and tilted her head at a sound. "I think…I found it. I can hunt…?"
"Hunt. But don't kill," he ordered. She nodded and darted off between the stacks of luggage and supplies. She recalled where the landing gear was and made her way towards it. She tilted her head at the sound of breathing now, and she grinned wickedly.
"Found you…" she said softly and narrowed her eyes.
"Please!" the homeless man said and rose up his hands.
"What…are you doing here…?" she frowned.
"I wanted…to go to the United States! I want a better life!" he admitted.
"You will likely be deported back," Kiryu said when he walked up to his wife. He put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"The homeless really don't have a better life in Hawaii, either," Kasuga said when he walked over now. "I'm just surprised at how you managed to sneak in here. There isn't much to say now. Have you ever tried the city of Sotenbori?"
"True. Akame could have helped him," Kiryu nodded.
"Well, we can't turn back now," Seonhee frowned. "Let's take him topside. We'll figure things out then."
"But…I don't want to be discovered!" the man wailed.
"We already found you. Cooperate. Or don't. It doesn't matter to me," Saiki said with a glare. "You interrupted a relaxing time on a flight. You already pissed me off."
"Ah! I'll…I'll defend myself!" the man started. Then he was put to sleep with an acupuncture needle. Goro and Taiga were already moving to collect him and haul him up with them. Now she went to where the alarm was tripped and studied it. She chuckled and found the reset panel to correct it. She was sure the captain and his co-pilot would be in shock.
"The airport is ready to retrieve him the moment we land. We'll need to figure out where to place him," the flight attendant frowned.
"We could leave him here. He'll stay asleep as long as that needle is stuck there. Or, if you feel bad for him, we can wake him in small shifts to feed him before putting him back to sleep. It's up to you," Saiki nodded.
"Of course. I shall discuss with the captain," she nodded.
"Good. I'm not too sure where else he can go," Saiki frowned.
"We'll figure that out. Let's get something to eat," Kiryu said and led her out and back up to the main deck. Ugajin was helping move the sleeping man to a chair and secure him down near the entrance to the cargo bay. Daigo, Taiga and Goro were already setting up shifts to watch over him. She was gently led back to their reclining chair, and Kiryu had her set it back up for them.
"Are you going to have me feed you?" she asked with a raised brow.
"I haven't decided yet," he grinned lightly at her.
"Huh. Last I recalled…I was the one that was pregnant…" she mused. Now he looked at her with amusement. "And didn't you say that I was going to be treated like a queen for this trip?"
"Fine. We'll both eat together sitting up. Then we'll both fall asleep watching a movie," he muttered. She trembled with laughter at him and squeaked when he pulled her down to his chest. He pressed a loving kiss on her mouth and said, "I know. I just…really like this reclining chair…"
"I'll make sure we order one that's even better," she smiled. He kissed her again and looked over when the flight attendant came in with a menu.
"Sushi for us," Kiryu said.
"Actually…maybe I should have something cooked. I do love sushi, but…" she frowned. Now he blinked at this.
"Teriyaki steak and shrimp with a side of white rice and broccoli," Kiryu said with a nod. "Sparkling water is best for us to have for drinks."
"I want to be sure that sushi is safe to have," she smiled.
"We'll research," he agreed and gave the menu back over. After the attendant left, he had the chair raise up a bit more to sit up with his wife in his lap. She snuggled into him now and sighed. He kissed her forehead and said, "I love you. I will never do anything to upset you."
"I know," she caressed his cheek and let him kiss her ravenously.
"May need a trip to the bathroom after eating…" he muttered in her ear. She laughed softly at that and kissed him back. When the plates arrived, she examined the food after the attendant left. He looked at her and asked, "Something wrong?"
"This…was clearly frozen, reheated and sauce packets drizzled on…" she grimaced. "I…suppose I'll eat this…"
"I'm sure it's just for the flight," he soothed and set the drinks in holders.
"This crap is going to put me in the bathroom," she cringed. "Hold on."
"What?" he frowned. He saw her go into one of her pouches to take out a small pillbox. Opening it, she took out a white pill and took it with her sparkling water. "What is that you just took?"
"A digestive aid. It will help. You want one?" she asked. He held out his hand to take one. "I usually don't take them, but I learned the hard way to do it if eating garbage food like this."
"I see," he mused and took his pill down with sparkling water.
"I'm sure it's good quality, but I prefer to get the meat from the package and cook it fresh. This was clearly pre-cooked, frozen and thawed out. The last time I ate something like this…it wasn't pretty. I think I 'killed' the bathroom I used, too…" she mused in thought. That got him sputtering with laughter at it. "Yeah, the next one who used it was swearing up a storm. And I made it worse by using the men's bathroom when no one was in it or looking. And there was only one toilet available. I got in through a vent. Part of a side job I had to do."
"Well, when you have to go…" her husband snickered and shook his head. "At least no one would have expected it came from a girl! But, please tell me. Were you hunting down a target?"
"Actually, it was stealing information. I called the bathroom adventure my little side quest for bonus points," she beamed. He laughed hard at the whole thing now. "And, yes, I flushed. Not even I wanted to see what came out of me from that stench! Eesh! It was bad!"
"Oh…" he said and hung his head from laughing so much.
"But these little pills do help. They cut down the effects of stuff by over half. I actually have a pretty sensitive stomach if I'm not careful," she sighed.
"What were you stealing?" he asked and they started to eat. She was pleased that the sauce was fairly flavorful and the shrimp was decent. She did admit that the meat was of good quality and the vegetables were steamed.
"Hmm…ah! It was blueprints to build a new type of gun. I think. Ah, no! It was a weapon, but it wasn't a gun. Some kind of…elite sword? Made with a rather intricate alloy. Was it a sword? Or was that another mission? I did so many of these things they muddle together! Anyways, I think…yes, I saved a copy of the notes for myself. In fact…"
"Hmm?" he asked and watched her plug her phone up into her whip pole end. She scrolled through the files and pulled up the carefully noted file. He cringed with laughter that she labeled it with a small poop emoji to remind herself of what mission it was from. He noticed that practically all the files had random emoji images to show which was which. He was actually impressed. She opened the file up to show him. And his eyes went wide with shock.
"You recognize it?" she asked. "In truth…I had forgotten I had this all this time. Do you think it would be useful?"
"Aika…this is a cannon…" he said on studying the blueprint. "It's a stealth cannon! I was…part of the meeting to discuss this type of weapon! We were trying to figure out how to create one…but we needed the blueprints. By the time we got them, the need for the weapon had passed. But this cannon…it's small and compact so it can hide practically anywhere. Much like how you can install one to do various things to defend your home! It would hide away and come back out like a motion sensor. I had no idea that you were sent to get this. Again, hidden from me completely. I really hate that!"
"Interesting. I think I know how to start our defense system for the new estate," she grinned and marked the file as important.
"How many other files do you have like this? I saw what you have, but do you have other blueprints?"
"Um…"
"Aika…?"
"Do I have to show you now?"
"We're safe enough. Yes."
"We have to finish eating…"
"It's fine. Aika. Show me. Please."
"Ugh…" she sighed and brought up a few more files. He was stunned at how top secret many of them were. And over half of these are from rival Clans!
"You have our entire defensive need right here. And I see how you got many ideas for your training rooms. And those hallways. The moment we build a board for chairmen, we are displaying these files," he said.
"I figured that would be the case," she nodded.
"But, if you want to see something funny…send this one to Goro. You have his number?" Kiryu asked. She shook her head and texted the file to her husband. Then he sent it to Daigo to show Goro. A loud shout was heard before Goro was soon charging in with Daigo right behind him.
"How…did you get that…?!" Goro said with absolute shock.
"I was sent in to steal it. Or at least copy it for the Tojo Clan," she shrugged. Then she narrowed her eyes. "Remember. You work for me now. These are items retrieved from a past life. So, yes, I stole a secret. I didn't know who's Clan it came from, but I was sent in to get it. I didn't know it was from you until Kazuma told me to share the file. So, it's being given it back freely. Unless you think we can use it for the estate?"
"Oh, we can definitely use this for the estate!" Goro grinned.
"What is it?" Daigo asked.
"It's a very specific watchtower. We can definitely make this a part of the lobby as an extension of the elevator to go up two more floors. It can seat up to four men for constant watch in all directions. It even has an alarm system that can branch out to all four corners of the property. We just need to wire it up. What other stuff did you steal?" Goro asked out of complete curiosity.
"You'll find out at our first official board meeting," Saiki said coolly. "Kazuma and I will sort through what I have and decide what will be beneficial for use. For now, though, stolen property was returned. If you choose to provide it freely for use now, then I will accept."
"If I can oversee the building of it, yes. We can use it," Goro nodded.
"Accepted. Glad we came to a civil agreement," she chuckled.
"Now you both can return to the others so I can eat with my wife," Kiryu chuckled. "And, don't worry, I will inform everyone of what I find that she has stashed away to share with everyone. That is relevant. I don't want her to give over all of her secrets."
"Sure, sure," Goro chuckled and walked off with Daigo. Then he was heard saying, "How the fuck did she steal that?! Right out from under my fucking nose?! There's just no way! Just…fucking how?!"
"How did you steal it?" Kiryu asked with a grin.
"You'd be amazed at what I can do with finding a kitchen serving dinner and a bottle of ultra- strong, tasteless laxative to put in the sauce…" she grinned wickedly. He roared out laughter and sent a text to Daigo.
"That's what fucked me up that night?!" Goro shouted out to get everyone dying with laughter after they heard what happened.
"So, doors were left open in a panic, I snuck in and snagged what I needed. And I was out," she snickered. "I made sure all of the major officers were hit, the security team and the ones monitoring camera feeds. Apparently, so was Goro if he was fed from the first dinner wave. I also uploaded a file that blocked recording for ten minutes in the background programming. And I made sure not all were affected to avoid suspicion of the food. Also, as I didn't steal the file, I only copied it. So it was further left unnoticed."
"That…is probably…the most awesome thing…I've heard yet…!" Kiryu said after he managed to regain himself. "I love you so much!"
"And I love you, too," she chuckled and let him kiss her passionately. They went back to finishing off their meal, and he had her show him more of what she had locked away. He was already marking things off, and he stopped at one file that floored him when he recognized it.
"This was from the Tojo Clan…" he muttered and stared at the digital blueprint. "This file…how…?"
"That file came from Dog Catcher," she said softly.
"This was stolen from my office! I knew I recognized this!" he growled. "He clearly didn't know how to copy like you, apparently. He just took the whole damned thing! That explains why it went missing from my files! It took me a week to get it back from someone else, but now I have to wonder how he got it. My computer was always locked when I was away from it!"
"Kazuma…" she frowned and looked away with a shiver.
"You…had to help him…?" he asked.
"It was something he was curious about. I tried to teach him how to copy and paste, but he said he couldn't learn from a dog. So…I told him…to replace the file…with something secret from me. Of course…he didn't do it…" she swallowed. "As if he'd even try…"
"What?" he asked and regarded her.
"He must have known. But it was an encrypted note that would have worked with your password. It was…explaining where I was. But I gave him a USB drive to get into your system. I said to avoid suspicion to swap the files. He never followed instructions to the letter. But…if you found the file…I had my story in it for you to read. I wanted to hack into your system directly! To leave something…but the Tojo Clan would have seen it."
"You should have done it, anyways. I would have shown the file off to everyone and demanded for you to come forward," he growled.
"I was working on something. But then you were lost. The Tojo Clan was lost. I was too late to reach you in time. All I could do was wait patiently. Dog Catcher was sneaking around to see me to show he was still there. But when the headquarters was set on fire…burned to the ground…he did return. He said it wasn't safe anymore. To meet him at an undisclosed location. The moment I jumped away onto a building after securely locking down the area…I fled."
"And I'm proud of you for doing that," he nodded. She snuggled into him and sighed with relief. He set the empty plates aside and adjusted the chair to recline again. He reset the movie to where he last left off and ran a hand through a lock of her hair. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and whispered, "You're safe now. You're with me. Rest."
"Yes…" she murmured and closed her eyes. The rest of the flight was spent sleeping and watching videos to pass the time away. They were both woken up when the announcement that they were thirty minutes out was announced.
"It's daylight here. We went backwards in time, in a sense," he chuckled and pressed a loving kiss on her mouth. Then he rose up with her in his arms to take her back into the bathroom.
"Kazuma!" she groaned and gasped at his small grin.
"Catch you by surprise, eh?" he laughed and kissed her hungrily after locking the bathroom door. He spent ten minutes with her to let them enjoy each other in full before bringing her back out. He was forced to put the chair back to how it was and secure everything down for landing. He had to sit next to her, and he made sure she was given the window seat.
"Wow…" she breathed at the sight of Hawaii coming into view.
"Welcome to Hawaii," he muttered in her ear. She giggled with a touch of excitement at him and blushed at his kiss to her cheek. "We'll be going to the one they call Big Island. I was hoping for one of the smaller isles, but the main location is there for the hotel."
"Okay. Oh!" she blinked at the sensation of landing.
"I think that homeless man was kept asleep the entire time," Kiryu sighed. "We'll need to hand him over to the waiting officials."
"Of course," she agreed. Now she watched the land come into view. She saw the cars start to form on the highways. She was enthralled at how everything looked like a scale model view of everything. It was five minutes later that she felt the landing gear kick down and squeaked at the feel of the plane landing heavily on the runway. Only after it stopped did everyone meet up to discuss next plans.
"First stop is the hotel. I don't know where you all will be," Kiryu said while scooping up his wife to carry her. "Who has our luggage?"
"I think they do," Tomi said when a limousine arrived.
"Kazuma and Saiki Kiryu?" the driver said on stepping out.
"That's us," Kiryu nodded. Their luggage was collected, and Saiki whispered to her husband. He set her down so she could wake up the homeless man with a small grin.
"Thanks. I need this back. Welcome to Hawaii," Saiki grinned on collecting the needle. The man was stunned that he slept through the whole trip. Then he shouted when police were there to collect him and book him.
"Okay. Let's see where we're staying. And hopefully the others will find a place, too," he said. Kasuga chuckled and waved at them.
"Tomi's got us covered. He knows of a hotel nearby that isn't too bad. You said you'd cover our stay?" Kasuga asked.
"I did. So, if one of you pays, I'll reimburse," Kiryu agreed.
"Seonhee, we can wire you the payment," Saiki smiled.
"I got this," Seonhee chuckled.
"Actually, I'm putting this as a business expense," Chi-chan grinned. "I already booked reservations. My father wanted me to check on a few things while I was here. I made a deal with him."
"Very well," Saiki nodded.
"Also, I…may have selected the best room for Ugajin and I," she winked.
"I see…" Ugajin said with a slight nod.
"And us?" Adachi asked.
"Basic rooms, I'm afraid. But it's better than nothing," Chi-chan smiled. "And we'll be just down the street from Kiryu-san."
"Do I get my own room?" Sa-chan asked.
"Well, you could share with Kasuga. Or with Seonhee," she said.
"I think…I would feel better protected with one of my men nearby," Seonhee said. Joongi nodded at this.
"I think you two are getting cozy," Zhao snickered.
"Nonsense," Joongi said.
"Lies," Saiki smirked. Joongi blinked at her and turned away to cough. "Anyways, is there a place we can meet up at?"
"There is!" Kasuga grinned. "Revolve Bar!"
"Ah! Yes, we can go there," Nanba chuckled.
"When do we meet up?" Gelek asked.
"We don't," Saiki said. "At least…not until we're settled. I need the job information. If I don't get it by the end of tomorrow, then the one I need to find does not exist."
"I…don't really know what island he is on, either," Rabten sighed.
"Great…" Tomi sighed.
"Just means we get to walk around with you," Goro grinned. "I'm itching to see who it is."
"Hell, if you see him, feel free to kill him," Saiki grinned.
"I can work that in," Taiga chuckled.
"Bonus pay for taking off his head, too," Saiki winked.
"I like that idea," Daigo snickered. "So, Rabten! Take us around to where you last saw him. We'll regroup in an hour with the others."
"Oh! Ah…okay…" Rabten cringed.
"Honolulu isn't very big. So, unless he's hiding in a big hole, we'll find him," Goro grinned eagerly for the hunt.
"We'll text in a few hours," Kiryu said. "Unless you find him. You text me right away."
"Can do," Daigo nodded. Kiryu finally got into the limousine with his wife and their luggage. Then they got driven off.
"I hope they don't find anyone," Saiki admitted.
"Same. Because I have no plans to leave the hotel room once we get in it," he growled and pulled her close to kiss her possessively.
