HT: Chapter 5
It was now 6:45 pm here in the little town of Peach Creek. It was here in a small Cul-De-Sac that we could see Eddy, who was pacing back and forth in his front yard in a nervous manner. His parents had already left the house, but Evan would be arriving here any minute now.
When Eddy asked his parents why the hell his brother was visiting them now of all times, they told him that Evan wanted to stop by tonight and stay for two days to celebrate their wedding anniversary, which was today. Sadly, they had already made a reservation at a fancy restaurant in Savannah, which was further away from here by an hour or two, so they would be out of town all night because of that; probably until midnight. They had no idea that Evan was planning this until earlier this morning when he called them by surprise.
"Eddy, we know you and Evan are not on good terms; no one in this family wants anything to do with him," Luis stated to Eddy, trying to calm him down when they broke the news to him this morning, "But there are times when you have to set aside the past; especially when the one who made the mistakes is trying their best to fix what was broken."
Eddy held his tongue on what he wanted to say but could only growl in anger. He knew they were not wrong, but he also knew this was not going to be a peaceful visit. Eddy never told his mom or dad that he and his friends had gone to Evan's house five years ago. He was afraid of what Evan would do to him or his friends if he told them what happened… He honestly wanted to forget that part of the moment.
"So please, you should try your best to be nice to him," Daisy stated, "If you need to, we'll give you our permission to stay at one of your friend's houses. There is no pressure for you to stick around with him at home. We don't want any more friction to form between us, understand?"
"Y-Yeah… I get it, don't worry," Eddy muttered in reluctance.
Both Double D and Eddy texted their friend Ed about Evan's visit, asking him to try and pay attention to his phone, just in case they needed to contact him for anything. Ed only replied to them with a double thumbs-up emoji.
Eventually, Eddy could see and hear Evan's car driving into the Cul-De-Sac, parking on the curbside next to Eddy's house. It was the same car Evan had five years ago, but it looked a bit more beat-up and ragged. Evan then exited the car, looking around before seeing Eddy close by, "Hey there, Pipsqueak!" He greeted him as he locked his car behind him.
Eddy glared at Evan, not even giving him a response.
"Heh, I can see you actually grew a lot while I was away!" Evan continued to say as he walked past him, ignoring the harsh glares Eddy was giving him, "I'll get my stuff out of the car later. Got a bit of a headache from the long drive."
"Why are you even here?" Eddy finally asked Evan with a growl in his voice.
"Huh? Did Mom and Dad not tell you why? It's for their anniversary!" Evan replied as he turned back to his little brother.
"I know that's total bullshit, Evan!" Eddy yelled to him, clenching his right hand into a fist, "I don't care if you're here to mess with me, but if you do ANYTHING to my friends, you will regret it!"
Evan stared at Eddy before laughing at the statement, "You don't need to worry about that! My game with you is only between you and me. No one else."
Evan turned back around to walk inside Eddy's house, closing the door behind him as he did. Eddy managed to calm himself down once Evan went inside, grumbling to himself as he walked off toward the Lane to take his mind off things.
Evan looked at the living from where he was standing, "Geez, nothing's changed at all here; not even the furniture."
Evan began to walk toward Eddy's room, which was currently unlocked. He went inside to see that Eddy's room had not changed much since the last time he saw it; it honestly surprised him. Evan looked around the room, trying to see if there was anything he could mess with for his game, only to see the grocery bag with some of the items that Eddy bought. Being curious, Evan walked over and grabbed the bag to see what was inside, only to see the box of condoms Eddy bought; he had not had the chance to hide them in one of his drawers yet.
"Whoa! ~ Seems like he's been getting busy while I was away!" Evan stated with a laugh.
Suddenly, Evan heard a ding sound go off nearby. He turned to see Eddy's cell phone on his nightstand, he had left it in his room because he was charging the battery to it… It looked like Ed had sent him a meme image of something in a text.
That's when a devious smirk began to form across Evan's face. Finally, the opportunity he was waiting for was slowly starting to fall into place.
Several minutes later, back at Double D's house, we could see her folding some of the clothes that she had just taken out of the dryer, humming a small tune to herself. As she folded the last shirt in front of her, she heard a sudden ping come from her cell phone.
Double D looked at her phone to see who had texted her; the text was from Eddy, "Hey! You busy right now? I need to talk to you about something really important at the lake! Meet up with me near the construction site!"
Double D stared at the message before making a small frown, "Why would Eddy want to meet me there?"
She instantly knew this message was made by Evan, texting from Eddy's phone to try and mess with them, 'Surely Eddy has a passcode to his phone… right? Either that or he guessed what the passcode was on his own…'
Double D began to reply to the text, as much as her gut instinct told her not to, "Very well then, I'll meet with you shortly. Just give me a moment."
After Double D hit send, she took a screenshot of her phone, showing the message that was received to her from 'Eddy' and what she replied with. Double D then pulled up Ed's contact information to text him the screenshot along with the message, "I want you to try and find Eddy as soon as you can. This message is too suspicious to me, but I can't ignore it. I'm sorry."
Double D took in a deep breath before pocketing her phone, but not before putting it into 'Do not Disturb' mode. She walked over to grab the bag that she always carries with her before walking out her front door and jogging over to the construction site. If it really was Evan who made the text, she was going to have plenty of things to verbally say to his face. Besides, if he DID try anything, she had a can of mace to spray him with… assuming she would not be caught off guard.
It did not take long for Double D to arrive at the construction site. All the workers had gone home for the evening, making the area eerily silent. Double D cautiously looked around, trying to see any signs of Eddy or Evan. It looked like no one was around at all except for her…
After a minute passed by, Double D started to feel anxious at how silent it was as she stood there, "Oh dear, maybe I should leave…"
As she tried to walk away, Double D felt an immense pain in her head before falling to the ground; she was hit in the head by a blunt object, knocking her out with that blow.
"Wow, you kids really are that fucking gullible, huh," Evan stated as he bent over to pick Double D off the ground. He had some thick rope over his right shoulder along with two heavy pieces of weight that he had brought from his house (both of them were 5lbs), and a blanket from Eddy's house that he had tucked under his arm, "Fell right into that trap. Lucky me!"
Evan began to walk away from the construction site with Double D slumped over his left shoulder, leaving behind her bag that fell off her shoulder. He was heading towards the lake that was nearby in the woods.
Meanwhile, back with Eddy, his back was leaning up against the only tree in the Lane, thinking to himself about what to do about his situation with Evan.
"Man, I guess I gotta stay with Ed while he's here," Eddy grumbled to himself as he reached into his back pocket for his cell phone, only to realize it was not there, "Shoot, I forgot I was charging it back home…"
"EDDY!" Cried out a familiar voice to him, making him jump out of his skin from how sudden it was. He then could see Ed running over to him in a panic, flailing his arms as he did, "Danger! Bad! Helphelphelp! SOS!"
"Hey! Calm down for a sec!" Eddy yelled to Ed to make him coherent.
"B-But Eddy! Double D's not home!"
Eddy's heart halted at what he said. Ed then took out his phone to show the text he received from her, "Double D texted me this before she left!"
Eddy looked at the screenshot attached to Double D's text; it was clearly his number that texted her this, but he was not the one who made the message…
Eddy narrowed his eyes in anger before shoving Ed's phone back into his hands, "Ed, I want you to call the police for me! Tell them that something's going on at the construction site and lake in the woods; I'm gonna go find Double D and punch Evan in the face!" Eddy stated before rushing off toward the construction site, much to Ed's worry.
