The Thief and the Prime

The Cooper Gang encounters a strange crystal Bentley speculates is otherworldly. Things start to get worse when Carmelita is kidnapped and Sly will do anything to save her, but help comes in the most unexpected way. Soon, the trio find themself in the middle of of a huge war of two factions. The Gang form bonds with the Good faction and Sly starts to relate with their wise leader.

12. Chapter 11: The Worst Nightmare

Chapter 11: The Worst Nightmare

Content Warning: This chapter is pretty short compared to the others, but contains somewhat extreme gore and strong language. Skip if you really don't like dark stuff.

Sly is sleeping peacefully, when suddenly, he remembers something he heard that day.

Starscream memory: "Megatron is currently obsessed with digging up this rusty old metal bird fossil and giving it my job."

He constantly thinks to himself "NO! It can't be!" "It isn't possible!" but his mind keeps trying to connect dots. If his family was involved with the Allspark… and they were eventually slain by…. HIM….. The Utah base raid…. Is he…. Was he always…One of them!?

What ensues is the worst nightmare Sly Cooper has ever had.

He finds himself in a Volcanic-like area, similar to when he first fought a certain mecha owl. He sees Bentley out of his wheelchair and runs over to him. His friend's shell is extremely cracked. Bentley keeps coughing non stop until he says to Sly.

Bentley: Get out of here! Save Yourself!

He dies in Sly's arms. Tears stream down the Raccoon's eyes. He then notices Murray on the ground in the distance. He runs to him.

Sly: MURRAY!

The hippo is battered, bruised and scared all over him.

Murray: We….we fought 'till the end, Sly.

Murray dies. Sly is now very emotionally broken, but the worst is yet to come. There's a voice coming behind him. He turns around.

Clockwerk: Sly Cooper. It has been a long time coming. It is finally time for your family legacy to end.

Sly: CLOCKWERK, YOU BASTARD!

The Big Owl then flies down and comes back up holding the absolute worst and haunting sight imaginable to Sly: Carmelita's corpse. Eyes wide open, holes in her torso and her arm amputated. The corpse is thrown in front of Sly and he cries the most he ever has while cradling it. His fears and depression then quickly turn into extreme rage.

Sly: CLOCKWERK! COME OUT AND FIGHT ME SO I CAN FUCKING MURDER YOU!

Clockwerk quickly picks up Sly and flies over lava.

Clockwerk: You Coopers have always had-

SLY: YOU HAVE BROKEN ME ENOUGH YOU FUCKER!

Clockwerk: You say you're broken? Very well then.

Clockwerk drops Sly down into the lava and just before he hits it….

He wakes up.

Whatever he imagined did 100% not happen, but still. Tears are streaming down him. He is very scared for his loved ones. Even with the Autobots on his team's side, he is still a bit scared for whatever may come.
