Chapter 28: A More Difficult Escape
Sly and Carmelita make a very difficult navigation around the base without being spotted, but at last, they reach the weapons room. They high-jump up to the huge Cybertronian sized table to see that their possessions are just right there, of which they retrieve.
Carm: Huh? You thought they would've locked them up somewhere more secure?
Sly: They probably think we wouldn't be out and up here.
Sly examines that the room is not only for weapons, but also Cybertronian trinkets and doohickies that could maybe be small enough to probably fit in his pocket. Even if not, he just wanted to observe them.
Sly: Carmelita, m'lady. I as a thief have never done this but….. Inspector….permission to maybe steal from Decepticons?
Carm: In any other situation…NO! But these aliens kidnapped and imprisoned me for days soooo…..just this once, permission granted.
Sly does a fist pump. He and Carm start to look around the room and its artifacts. Sly seems disappointed, as he doesn't see anything that would fit in his backpack or pocket, but still wants to observe. Sly comes across a big container holding a small yet wild creature seemingly made out of fire.
Kremzeek: KREMZEEK!
Sly: Yeesh!
Carm: Why do they have this big jar of jam? Oh, I'm sorry "JaAm"?
Penelope: FREEZE ORGANICS!
Both turn around to see the now turned Decepticon Penelope. She has blasters mounted to her wrists pointed at them.
Sly: Hey! Penelope! Remember when you betrayed us and broke Bentley's heart?
She blasts at them, but they both dodge. They run as she keeps missing her blasts at them.
Carm: Penelope, you don't have to do this! Bentley still cares for you.
Sly: He just doesn't like expressing it for obvious reasons. But trust me, he would forgive you if he had the courage!
Penelope: (Approaches them) He clearly doesn't! I am over him!
Carm: No you're not! Él todavía te ama en el fondo!
Penelope: I told you I AM OVER HIM! I REGRET WHAT I DID, BUT MY NEW LIFE IS HERE!
She lunges at the two, but they dodge. She gets up and chases them through the room, but trips and the two run out. She groans. Also she hitted the shelf with a container, which falls over and breaks, letting a certain creature free.
Kremzeek: KREMZEEK!
Penelope: (Calls Megatron) Pene- Baronite to Megatron. The two organics were just in the weapons room. They're headed for an exit!
Megatron gets the message and once again calls upon everyone he can.
Megatron: (Calls) DECEPTICONS! THE TWO ORGANICS ARE HEADED FOR ANY EXIT! Block and capture them at all costs!
Shockwave stops working on Clockwerk for a moment.
Megatron: Keep working.
Shockwave: I am almost complete.
Megatron: Excellent.
Meanwhile, Sly and Carmelita are still attempting to escape. They sneak around and when spotted, Sly really takes advantage of his Exo-suit's abilities. His arms can turn into blades or light blast, yet rapid fire cannons. Jet boosters that allow for higher jumps. Increased strength and speed. Not enough to take down a Decepticon, but enough to maneuver around and maybe knock down. As he's running faster, he takes Carmelita's hand and pulls her along.
Carm: Sly! Desacelerar!
He pulls her up and holds her in his arms while still running,
Sly: Most romantic date ever. I know! (Laughs) I feel like a hedgehog with this speed!
They almost reach an exit, but get blocked by Slipstream.
Slipstream: End of the line, Organic scum!
Sly: So are you like…. Starscream's bratty little sister?
Carm: Una hermanita malvada.
Sly: (Snickers)
Slipstream shoots at them, but they keep dodging. Carm shoots her shock pistol at her and while she's distracted, Sly runs up to her foot and keeps slashing at it with his arm blades. This causes her to fall over a bit and the two finally make their escape. Carmelita is relieved to finally see sunlight again after being trapped for days. The two start to run down the mountain.
Slipstream: (Gets up) uuugghhh! EVERYONE! THEY'RE GETTING AWAY! SHOOT AT THEM!
More Decepticons approach the entrance and attempt to shoot at the escapees. While running down, Sly once again attempts to contact the Autobot base.
Sly: (Calling) SLY TO TELETRAAN ONE! SLY TO TELETRAAN ONE! PROWL! ARE YOU THERE!? WE'VE ESCAPED, BUT THEY"RE STILL AFTER US!
The two descend to the valley and find a good safe place.
Prowl: (Over call) Sly! We have pinpointed your exact location, but…..ummmm…..
Wheeljack: (Over call) Once the portal opens, you only have ten seconds before it closes. We don't want any 'cons following us, so get ready!
Sly/Carm: WHAT!?
Prowl: Just be ready! It will probably be right beside you when it opens. Once it does, make a run for it! 'Jack is firing it up now!
Slipstream and Lugnut land from a distance in the valley.
Sly: Aww no, not this guy again!
Slipstream: (Slowly approaches) You two really tried, but you cannot escape us.
She shoots a single blast from her Null-ray that hits Sly's shoulder on his exo-suit.
Sly: Ahh!
Carm: Sly!
Lugnut: YOU WILL BE CRUSHED AND DECIMATED AT THE REQUEST OF OUR SUPREME LEADER!
Slipstream: He didn't say that! He told us just to capt-!
Lugnut: (Charges) AAAHHHHH!
He charges quickly at them. The portal opens. Carmelita pulls Sly through it. Lugnut almost gets through the portal, arm in first, but at the last second, it closes and slices his arm off.
Lugnut: (Defeated) Aww! That was my P.O.K.E. arm!
Slipstream: (Groans) Y'know what? You love him so much, YOU tell him!
Lugnut: I will accept any punishment my superior gives me.
They go to the throne room and tell Megatron of the prisoners escape. Usually, he would be absolutely enraged, but to the surprise of them, he acts pretty reserved. Shockwave comes in.
Shockwave: Lord Megatron….he is ready….
All of them head to the main room. Clockwerk, with his new parts installed, is flying all around, transforming from robot to owl mode quickly and training with melee weapons and firearms. More Decepticons are watching and they are impressed. He is finally complete once more. He then stops and takes one look at Megatron's expression.
Clockwerk: They…..got away….did they…?
Megatron: (sighs) Yes. They are allied with the Autobots. It is only a matter of time before they know the location of this base. We all should prepare for an oncoming battle! From what we know, our number of Soldiers here on Earth outnumbers theirs.
Clockwerk: Will my adversary be involved?
Megatron: Very possible. I have no knowledge of it, but I have the feeling that he and Optimus Prime have formed some sort of bond.
The Leader looks around to all his minions.
Megatron: (To everyone) We don't know when the Autobots will come, but when they eventually do soon, we should all be prepared. When the battle begins, I have two rules: Take out any Autobot or organic you see except two…Sly Cooper, he is Clockwerk's and Optimus Prime….he is mine! I will finish Optimus Prime off for once and for all and our Decepticon cause will be one step closer to world domination. Say the oath now… (Raises his fist) All…Hail….MEGATRON!
Everyone raises their fists in loyalty.
Everyone: ALL HAIL MEGATRON!
One is still uncertain. She wants this new life of hers but feels trapped somehow.
Penelope: All…..hail….Megatron.
Megatron: Oh! And if anyone can find Starscream anywhere and bring him to me for his extermination, you will get a slight promotion.
