Note 1: So, this is a surprise. After some requests for both when this story would be back, and people wanting to take over Beta'ing this story, my Beta, Captain Sigma, has decided to put writing his own story on pause so to edit this. He has one more chapter edited which will go up in late August/early September-time, however, DO NOT EXPECT MORE CHAPTERS UNTIL THEN. At the moment we have decided to do once a month for this story until we can get more time. The story my beta is working on is part of our main focus and something I'm also looking forward to, so delaying that for this is counterproductive in my view, but something that had to be done after various requests. Also, please DO NOT REQUEST TO BETA THIS STORY as I will decline. My beta and I have worked together for the best part of six years now. In that time there has only been one chapter that has went up without the other looking at it (not including a Pokémon Story I do for fun and just toss up with no edits). We know each other, our way with words and ideas like the Borg Collective these days, so to have someone else try that just won't work for me. In fact, we're moving off the term beta and going to start to call each other co-writers/creators. These terms feel more in line with what we are to each other instead of beta. So, like I said in the previous chapter, you have to wait and I hope you do. We have some amazing things planned for this story and our Arrowverse multiverse the Millma Verse.

Year 3: Summer with the Grangers
Harry and Harper were grinning as they walked out of the American embassy in London having used their portkey to get there and into the country legally. The reason they were so happy? Hermione and her parents, Wendell and Monica, were waiting for them. Harper ran forward and brought Hermione into a hug.
"Quit hogging her," Harry said, pushing Harper aside before bringing Hermione into his arms. "You're looking good." Harry smiled as he took in his friend. She had grown a bit over the summer and developed, looking more and more like a woman than a girl
"You too. Your voice got deeper," Hermione commented, and Harry had to laugh at that.
"Did everything get to you okay?" Harper asked.
"Daisy and Lucy are fine," Hermione stated and Harper released a breath. The two had sent their things over to Hermione's house with Helia and Fawkes. Professor Dumbledore's phoenix having spent a lot of the summer in their house with Helia, after all. Daisy and Lucy had been included among the things sent to Hermione with the phoenixes. "You didn't buy your supplies yet, right?"
"You told us about a million times not to," Harper pointed out.
"Good, because we're going to go to Diagon Alley," Hermione said.
"You have the money?" Monica asked Hermione.
"Yes mom," Hermione said.
"You're not coming with us?" Harry asked.
"No, we never feel right there. We're going to spend some time in London, while you kids go shopping," Wendell said, smiling at his wife at this. "Hermione knows where and when to meet up with us."
"Okay then. See you soon," Harper said as the three kids moved off. "The Leaky Cauldron's not exactly that close…"
Harry gave a smirk as he took out his wand and raised it. Hermione gave pause, but a moment later a three-decker purple magical bus stopped before them.
"Oh, the Knight Bus! That's better than taking the underground," Hermione commented as Harry paid a young man called Stan for three to get to the Leaky Cauldron. "How much do I owe you?" Hermione asked as she went for a seat.
"Don't worry about it," Harry said with a smile. "But we're going to need to stop by Gringotts."
"Me too," Harper said with a nod.
"I need to exchange some money," Hermione agreed, the three knowing Gringotts would be their first stop.
A few minutes later, and the bus let them off at the Leaky Cauldron – the three going through the pub and into the back where, on cue, Harry pushed the correct bricks on the old wall to open the doorway passage into Diagon Alley.
"Is Neville going to be joining us?" Harry asked.
"No, he told me he would see us on the Express," Hermione said. "He's on a holiday right now. Did his shopping a couple of weeks ago."
"Too bad," Harper said as they headed for the large white building of Gringotts. Once inside, Hermione waited on a separate line to exchange her muggle money for wizarding money while Harry and Harper were brought down to their vaults.
Hermione was waiting for them as they returned to the main hall.
"Did you get your OWLs results?" Hermione asked as they exited the building, Harry looking at his watch.
"Took her less than an hour," Harry said. "Pay up." Harper took out a Galleon and handed it over to Harry as Hermione put her hand on her hip and raised an eyebrow. "Just good fun Mione. Yeah, we did. I got an E on both."
"That's wonderful Harry," Hermione said, hugging Harry and kissing his cheek. The two seemed embarrassed after that.
"I got an O in Astronomy and an A in Herbology," Harper said giving the two a look. "You don't need to kiss me but a congrats would be nice."
"Nice job Harp," Hermione smirked, putting an arm around Harper. "Let's go get our books."
"Hagrid sent me a book that bites for my birthday," Harry complained at this they headed for the bookshop to see more of the books were in the window. "And yeah, it was on the booklist."
The bookshop employee wasn't too pleased when he saw the trio of them, they noticing the strange-looking biting books in a cage in the window.
"Three?" The employee asked.
"Only two," Harper spoke.
"Oh," the man sighed, getting out a grabbling arm and bracing himself. As he fought to get two of the biting books – quite a few having turned on one to rip it to pieces in the cage – Harper saw the book list Hermione had. "You can collect them when you pay up," the man added, clearly stressed.
"Mione, how many books do you need?" Harper asked as they moved into the shop to pick their books.
"Well, I'm taking every single class," Hermione explained.
"How?" Harry asked, not thinking that was possible, but Hermione simply didn't answer. "Mione, why do you need to take Muggle Studies? You're a muggleborn! You probably know more than this more than likely outdated book says."
"It will be interesting to learn what the magical community thinks of muggles," Hermione insisted, tossing the book in her bag. Harry and Harper didn't know what else to say to this, so didn't as they paid up and collected the two biting books – which had been tightly bound in twine to keep them from attacking more – and left the shop.
"So, my parents gave me a little extra money to get a pet," Hermione said as they wandered down the shops. "I was thinking of getting my own owl."
"Hedwig could use someone to lessen her load work," Harry said with a smile. "Let's make sure to get you one that's good with international travel."
"I was thinking the same," Hermione said.
"Well, while you two are looking at owls I need to get some new robes. I grew several inches and my old uniform won't fit," Harper said.
"We'll catch up at Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor," Harry said as they went further down the street, Harper heading for the Magical Menagerie.
As they were heading for the door, it opened and out came a familiar red head.
"Oh, hi Harry, Hermione," Ron Weasley said with a smile. In his hand was his rat, Scabbers – the rat didn't look good to Harry, who had seen it before. It looked like he lost weight and there were patches of fur missing.
"Getting your rat checked out," Harry said, more as a statement.
"Yeah, he's been acting weird for a while," Ron said as he stroked Scabbers. "Crazy cat in there attacked him though."
"Congrats by the way," Hermione before Harry could respond to the cat comment. "I heard your family won some money."
"Yeah, dad won at work. We used the majority of it to visit Bill in Egypt – first family trip we ever had. It was amazing. Too bad I didn't meet this MC, Bill's girlfriend. She was on some mission for Gringotts in another part of the country. Bill was supposed to be too, but MC covered for him so he could enjoy our visit," Ron explained happily. "Mom and dad offered to use the rest of the money to buy me a new wand but I am determined to make one that will choose me on my own. Before here I went and had a conversation with Olivander. Showed him some of the wands I made. He has been giving me tips."
"That's good. Might want to move off Hippogriff feathers," Hermione pointed out.
"My brother Charlie works with dragons. He can't give me a heart string but apparently teeth and scales are easy to collect and are also good cores. He gave me some," Ron explained. "Is Harper not here…?" Ron looked around for Harper as he asked it, seeming to just realize she was missing.
"She went to get new robes. We're meeting for ice cream after we get Mione an owl. Want to join?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, I'll go get us a table," Ron said.
"We're getting me a pet so will meet you after," Hermione explained as Ron smiled to this, moving passed them now and to the ice cream parlor across the way to get a table.
"If you had told me a year ago, we would be so friendly with Ron Weasley I would have called you nuts," Harry said, and Hermione had to chuckle at that, as they went into the store in search of an owl.
-Harry Potter-
Harper was leaving the robes store, her new robes under her arm when she bumped into someone familiar.
"Sorry," the older male said. "Oh, Harper."
"Hi, Cedric," Harper said, giving the older Hufflepuff a smile. "Need new robes too?"
"They're for my brother," Cedric said, as Harper noticed someone who must have been Cedric's father behind them with a boy who looked like a slightly younger double of Cedric. "Edward, dad, this is Harper Evans. A third year Slytherin and also Harry Potter's sister. Harper, this is my father Amos Diggory and my little brother Edward. He's starting school this year."
"Ah, must be excited," Harper said, giving the young boy a smile. "Nice to meet you Mr. Diggory."
"As well as you," Amos said, taking Harper's hand she held out. "Is your brother around?"
"He's off with a friend getting some other supplies. Going to go meet him for ice cream now. See you two at Hogwarts," Harper said to the two boys.
"Harper, wait," Cedric said chasing, after Harper as she moved off. "I didn't get a chance to talk to you last year after everything with the Chamber was over."
Harper paused, wondering where this was going. After the Chamber in February, the rumors about her had died down, but some people had still been a bit nervous. "Well we are in different houses and different grades," Harper pointed out.
"Grades?" Cedric asked.
"Sorry American term," Harper said, remembering they didn't use grades here. "Years, different Years."
"Right, but still, I wanted to tell you I never thought you were the one attacking students. I even told several of my friends to knock it off when they said nasty things about you," Cedric said.
"I know," Harper said and noticed the surprise. "I have several friends in Hufflepuff and it might be a big school but when it comes to news about me or my brother it seems to be a very small castle." Cedric gave a chuckle at that. "But thanks, I appreciated anyone who defended me – especially ones who didn't know me."
"Didn't need to know you personally to know you and Harry are good people," Cedric said. "I'd like to know you better."
"I'd like that too," Harper said as Cedric father yelled for him. "See you at school."
"Definitely," Cedric said with a smile as he ran back to his father and brother.
Harper watched him for a moment and smirked as she headed for the ice cream parlor. She easily found Harry and Hermione sitting there with ice cream – one was waiting for her, and she knew Harry must have ordered. She paused at the redhead, though.
"Hey Ron," Harper said as she took a seat.
"Hi Harper, I was just telling Harry and Hermione all about Egypt and the dragon scales and teeth my brother Charlie gave me," Ron said.
"New wand core?" Harper asked.
"Yeah, they've got to be better than Hippogriff feathers," Ron stated.
"You may want to try dual-cores," Harper explained. "Makes the magic stronger."
"I like your thinking," Ron smiled at her. She raised her eyebrow at the reaction but turned to Hermione now.
"I see you got an owl," Harper turned to Hermione to change the topic – next to Hermione was a gray owl in a cage.
"Meet Warwick," Hermione said with a smile as she put a hand on the cage.
-Harry Potter-
After eating their ice cream, the four students got the last supplies they needed and then headed for the Leaky Cauldron. The rest of the Weasleys were already in the bar taking a table.
"Harry, Harper, Hermione," Molly Weasley said with a big smile, coming up and giving the three one of her bone-crushing hugs that the three were starting to get used to. "Will you be joining us?"
"We have to go meet up with my parents," Hermione said.
"Where are they?" Arthur asked.
"They went to Harrods in London," Hermione said, and noticed the look. "It's a very high-class muggle shopping center. We're meeting them where we parked the car and then Harry and Harper will be joining us until school starts."
"Oh, a sleepover – wonderful!" Molly exclaimed, but there was a slight forcefulness to her voice at this.
"Harry a quick word," Arthur moved forward, seeming nervous. "In private...?"
"Arthur," Molly stated, warningly now.
"He has to know, Molly," Arthur stated.
"Whatever you have to tell me you can say in front of Harper and Hermione. I'll just tell them anyway," Harry said truthfully.
"Arthur!" Molly protested again; Harry now curious as to what could be so bad for Molly to get so agitated.
"Molly!" Arthur snapped at his wife now, who glared at her husband.
"Oh, your own head be it," Molly snapped, turning her back on her husband as Ginny came over to her mother.
"What was that about?" Harper asked.
"Molly doesn't want me telling you this," Arthur sighed. "Harry, as you know I work in the Ministry of Magic, and I hear things. It's just that it might be dangerous for you to be traveling around muggle London on your own… with Sirius Black out," Arthur stated, and Harper went to put a hand on Harry to stop him from reacting – the two have ignored the wanted posts of Sirius around them.
"I know more about Sirius Black than you do," Harry said, suddenly coolly – Sirius was a tricky subject for him. He ignored his sister's attempts to get him to be quiet. Harper pretty much punching his arm now to get him to shut up.
"I don't think…" Arthur started.
"He was my father's best friend when they were in Hogwarts, the Best Man at my parents' wedding, and is still my godfather," Harry said, noticing the look Arthur was giving him now. "I know everything about Sirius Black – the whole truth – and I am not afraid of him. The rat who betrayed my parents will pay." Harry smirked at his wording, since the term rat was for Peter Pettigrew, not Sirius Black
Harper sighed as she gave up trying to stop her brother. Hermione, though, turned to Ron who had been listening in. When Harry said 'rat' Ron's own rat, Scabbers seemed to react, and Ron had to hold the creature tight. Hermione raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry, you seem very aware of the danger, and I know you can handle yourself," Arthur said with an apologetic nod.
"Thank you though," Harper added, knowing Harry just wanted to get away now. Arthur gave her a small nod at this.
"We'll be going. Bye Ron, Fred, George, Ginny, Percy. See you at Hogwarts," Harry said to them. "Mr. and Ms. Weasley a pleasure like always."
The trio exited the Leaky Cauldron through the entrance to the muggle world, Harry taking the lead and not stopping as he started walking down the street.
"Harry, I know you sometimes react before thinking. It's what makes you a true Gryffindor and got you that key," Harper said, catching up with him and referencing the Gryffindor Key he'd won in their first year, "but this is your godfather's life we're talking about. Can we approach this a little more… Slytherin?"
"What are you two talking about?" Hermione asked, taking big strides to catch up with the siblings now.
"We'll tell you when we're safely in your house," Harry said as he, again, summoned the Knight Bus now, to take them to where they had to meet the rest of the Grangers.
-Harry Potter-
When they met with the Grangers, they had a dinner out at a fancy restaurant and then were brought back to the Granger house. Harry and Harper were excited to be reunited with Lucy and Daisy, who came running up to meet their humans.
Harry then brought Lucy to the backyard, putting on her glamor, along with Harper and Hermione. As Lucy played with a toy the two decided to inform Hermione about Sirius.
"So, let me get this straight," Hermione said, once they'd explained what they knew. "Sirius Black, James Potter, and Peter Pettigrew became Animagi while in school to help their werewolf friend who will be our DADA teacher?"
"Yes," Harry said.
"We got permission from Moony to tell you that so keep it between us," Harper added.
"Yeah, of course," Hermione said. "Sirius was not your parent's Secret Keeper, but Pettigrew was and is the reason they were murdered. Furthermore, Peter Pettigrew is the one who murdered all those muggles and cut off his one finger to escape in his rat form letting Sirius take the fall."
"Yes," Harry and Harper said together.
"And Sirius Black never received a trial? Now you two want to get him to America where your dad thinks he can have him protected by the American government," Hermione finished.
"That basically sums it up," Harper said.
"Okay, I'm in," Hermione said. "I can't let you two do this alone and I've always got your back." Harry put his arms around Hermione and brought her into a hug. "You know, I get trying to get Sirius to America is a good backup plan, but finding Pettigrew is still a good idea. And I noticed when…"
Hermione never finished her sentence as there was a growl and she jumped up. As they were talking a bulldog had some entered the Granger back garden and was growling at them.
"Ripper!" Hermione nearly screamed, and Harry and Harper noticed the fear in her eyes.
"Who is this?" Harry asked standing up and getting in front of the dog.
"Marge Dursley, Vernon's sister, dog," Hermione said. "He's bitten me several times and chased me up trees."
Harry was wondering how he could deal with his dog as it charged at them, but neither the wizard nor the two witches had to do anything as before the bulldog reached them, Lucy came charging and tackled Ripper. Harry watched, motionless for a moment, as the two dogs fought but it was over in a matter of seconds before Lucy stood before, them barely a scratch while Ripper was limping off, whining.
"Good dog," Harry said, getting down on his knees as he hugged Lucy.
"I need to get you some treats," Hermione added, going down to pet Lucy.
"I wouldn't bet this is over," Harper stated, looking over at the Dursley house – there wasn't a soul in the garden, but it wouldn't be long before someone complained.
-Harry Potter-
"Alright you two," Wendell Granger said when the three teens and one crup came back in. Daisy was sitting on the couch with Monica, enjoying the pets the woman was giving her. "Would you prefer the Sixth Doctor or Seventh? I have some Fifth, but not much."
Harry and Harper looked at them. "Doctor who…?" The two asked together.
"Exactly," Wendell said.
Hermione chuckled at the confusion of her friends. "Dad, I don't think they know the show," Hermione said. "Doctor Who is a show that was cancelled a few years ago in 1989; my dad loved it since he was a kid and recorded them all on VHS. It's about an alien who can travel through time and space and has this ability to change his body to look different. We watch episodes every once in a while."
"I hear it's due for a comeback. In fact, rumors America will be taking it over for an Eight Doctor," Wendell said. "I'm going to introduce you two to one of my favorites. The Seventh doctor, Ace, and Daleks."
"Okay, I like sci fi," Harry said with a shrug as Wendell went looking for the pre-recorded VHS's.
The doorbell rang at that moment and Monica got up and looked out the window.
"The police?" Monica questioned, seeming confused as she answered the door; Harry made sure Lucy's glamour was still on. "Hello. Can I help you officer?"
"Hello there. We got a report of a violent dog at this address. Apparently, it attacked the neighbor's dog," the officer said.
"What?" Harry asked, and Harper saw the anger and grabbed him before he did something he regretted.
"Officer," Hermione said getting up and heading for the front door. "I can explain. The neighbor's dog, Ripper, entered our back garden and tried to attack us. Lucy defended us."
"Ripper is here?" Wendell said, having returned from finding the VHS's. "That bloody Marge… Officer, I have placed police reports about that dog before! It has bitten my daughter and chased her up our tree several times and wouldn't let her down. It even bit me when I tried to get it away! The dog has no training and is vicious. Lucy, however, is very well trained."
"Give me a moment," the officer said moving off and taking out a radio. He talked for a moment before moving back. "My colleague has confirmed about the reports. Considering everything, it seems to me your dog was just in defending her territory. I'm going to go have a word with your neighbors."
"Thank you," Monica said, closing the door behind them.
"How dare they?! I warned them!" Harry said, seeing red clearly that his aunt and uncle who lived next door had reported his dog.
"Calm down Harry. It was taken care of," Harper said, giving both Lucy and Harry a pet at this. "Wendell, I think we need a distraction here."
"On it," Wendell said, running to the living room putting the VHS into the player.
Harry and Harper found themselves asking some questions during the show, but mostly kept up. Sadly, near the end of the show though there was a loud banging on the door. Monica once again getting up and looking out the window.
"Vernon Dursley," Monica said.
"Let me handle this one," Harry said, smirking now as he got up and Harper decided not to stop him this time as he answered the door. "Well, hello Uncle Vernon." It was the first time Harry had ever actually seen this man – he had met Dudley last year and Petunia then as well, but not Vernon. Harry noted that Vernon was as large – if not larger – as his son and seems like two whales himself. "Good to finally meet you."
"You!" Vernon glowered, his face red as a vein in his head started popping. "Listen here, you," Vernon snapped. "My sister's dog just got taken away! Too many reports of violence. This is your fault!"
"You're the one who contacted the police on my dog after your dog attacked us. If you hadn't done that, the police may have turned a blind eye. This is your fault," Harry said, not feeling sympathy that the dog, Ripper, got taken away.
"You're going to fix this right now, you freak," Vernon snapped.
"Strike one," Harry said. "Only two more to go."
"I'm not afraid of you. Your father and mother were no good freaks too," Vernon said.
"Strike two. You have one more," Harry said coolly, his eyes narrowing.
"Or what are you going to do? I've lived next door to these Grangers since we abandoned you to the abnormal and sent you packing to America. I should have known that Hermione girl was a monstrosity. Just the way Ripper always went for her proves it! Dogs know when someone shouldn't be," Vernon said.
"Strike three, you're out," Harry snapped. "Tell Aunt Petunia I will be taking care of this the way only my kind can." Harry closed the door on Vernon's face and stepped back, ignoring the banging on the doors. "Harper, we're taking out the spell books."
"Harry, you're in Britain now. Underage magic is not allowed," Hermione reminded Harry and he frowned.
"What about potions? It's a passive magic," Harper reasoned.
"We can do potions," Hermione said with a nod.
"I got some potion books in my trunk that will be useful. I also decided to set up a cauldron in there in case I needed to do potions outside of class again," Harry said. "Mione, you're with me. We're taking count of what ingredients we have and looking up potions to make."
"I'll send Hedwig and Warwick out," Harper said.
"Out where?" Hermione asked.
"One to get an order of more potion ingredients. The other to Fred and George. We need some reinforcement with ideas," Harper said. Hermione actually laughed at this one
"Good idea," Harry said as the three teens all ran for rooms.
"But you didn't see Ace beat up a Dalek with a baseball bat yet!" Wendell said pouting at the TV. It seemed Vernon had given up as the banging on the door had stopped now.
"Wendell, I think they are about to put the Dursley into their place," Monica said, and Wendell couldn't help but smirk at that himself.
-Harry Potter
For the next week, until the three had to leave for Hogwarts, they spent as much time as they could making potions and using them against the Dursleys.
Making them wasn't hard – the harder part was exactly how to use them against the Dursleys: They had made one that killed plant life and killed the grass and Petunia garden; they made color changing potions and put them inside balloons, tossing them at the Dursley house and car, causing the weirdest colors on both; Harry had even managed to lace some sweets with a potion that caused intense pimples, which Dudley must have got at before the Dursley's realized.
It was Fred and George who had given them the idea on how to use them against the Dursleys themselves in a more subtle way as they suggested dipping a dart end in the potion and throwing them at them – an idea Harper said was worthy of a Slytherin. Harry and Harper kept the potions they used against the Dursleys mild though. Dudley had been taken to hospital with his pimples, so they kept to potions that gave them cold symptoms or induced vomiting. The worst one was one they made for Dudley again, making him taste only dirt no matter what he ate. Fred and George had demanded the recipe after they told them about it.
It was September first when they were packing the boot of the Granger's car, getting ready to leave when Petunia came up to them.
"You. We surrender," Petunia said bluntly to Harry.
"I don't want a surrender. I want an apology," Harry said.
"I'm sorry," Petunia said, her lips pursed now. "We should not have called the police on your dog and for whatever it is worth, I told Vernon not to go to the house when Ripper got taken away. Your mom was my sister. We don't have the means to move against you."
"No more bullying from Vernon or Dudley. You leave us and the Grangers alone. We leave you alone," Harry said.
"I will take care of it," Petunia said.
"What do you think, Harp?" Harry asked.
"She sounds truthful," Harper said.
"Mione?" Harry asked.
"I think we can let her off the hook," Hermione said.
Harry took a vial out of his pocket. "This will reverse the current potion on Dudley," Harry said. "One sip and he will be able to taste again." Petunia took the potion, looking like she was handling a grenade when she took it.
"And the house and car?" Petunia asked.
"Oh, that will wear off on its own in another day or so," Harry said. "The car will start working tomorrow. Can't reverse the damage on the garden. That will need to regrow the slow way. Bye Aunt Petunia."
Harry jumped into the back of the Granger's car with Harper and Hermione, all of them holding their animals which made the back-seat cramp. "Back to London," Hermione said as her father started the car.
Post Chapter Note 1: Well, I hope you enjoyed this fun little chapter. As mentioned at the start though, don't expect the next chapter until NEXT MONTH. My co-writer has edited that chapter, but I want to give it some time before that goes up and I want my Sigma to concentrate on his own story.
Post Chapter Note 2: I've had a lot of guest reviews recently complaining about the direction of this story and the focus on Neville as part of the Prophecy. Well, for a start this is my story, my take on Harry Potter, and I will do with it as I like. If you want the story you read as a kid, go back and read the books. Secondly, Neville could and would have been the Chosen One had Voldemort gone after the Longbottoms instead of the Potters (and had he survived the Killing Curse like Harry), so his involvement in fulfilling the prophecy here is important to the story I want to tell and if you persevere with this, you'll see why he's important - but I'm in no way taking away any plot from Harry himself. Finally, Neville getting the wand Harry had in the book is simply because HARRY ALREADY HAD A WAND in this story; I wasn't going to sacrifice that wand just so Harry could get his book wand, so giving said wand to Neville just made sense.
Karry Master OUT!
