Year 3: Save Buckbeak

Harry, Harper, Neville, and Hermione were walking to Care of Magical Creatures class. It was their second class of the day, and quite cold, being in January.

"You okay Nev?" Harry asked, frowning at Neville who seemed to be in some discomfort.

"Yeah, you've been rubbing your neck all morning," Harper added.

"Early morning workout session with Perenelle," Neville explained. "I think I pulled a muscle. How are you three doing with your classes?"

"I am learning how to transform certain objects to gold," Hermione smiled. "Mostly other types of gems like coal, but it's fascinating. You know the Philosopher's Stone can turn anything into gold – or well could – but there are other ways. How about you two?"

"We're processing along well," Harper said, a little cryptically.

"When are you two not?" A new voice spoke that was very familiar to the two Americans.

"Rolf!" Harry and Harper called together; the older boy having come to them from Hagrid's hut. They happily gave him a hug – which was returned. He was wearing his Ilvermorny uniform, still being a student there himself.

"What are you doing here?" Harry asked.

"Grandpa got permission from my school to bring me on an educational outing for a few days," Rolf said as the two heard Hermione clear her throat.

"Oh, Hermione, Neville this is Rolf Scamander. Our unofficial big brother or cousin," Harry said. Hermione and Neville came to greet him, seeming excited.

"Scamander? As in Newt Scamander?" Hermione asked, not having missed that reference.

"He's my grandpa," Rolf smiled. "He and Grandma Tina raised me after my parents died in the Wizarding war with you-know-who," he further explained.

"Wait, is Newt here?" Harper asked.

"With Hagrid," Rolf said. "Hagrid said you two should be coming so I went a little ahead to greet you. I was going to message you but I left my communication book at school. Come on."

With that, the five reached Hagrid's Hut fast, where Newt was standing. Harry and Harper didn't wait a moment before hugging the man, who returned the hug. The class that was gathered giving them a look. Hermione had now gone oddly quite in the presence of the author.

"'ello class," Hagrid said, when everyone was gathered. "We have a special guest 'ere today. Welcome, Newt Scamander," the class clapped at this, but the group could hear whispers.

"Now, I don't normally visit classes, but this class has two of my favorite people in it," Newt said, smiling at Harper and Harry. "And I had some business at Hogwarts so I thought I might lend Hagrid a hand in his own classes."

"Yeah, he needs it," Draco mumbled, to laugh from some of his Slytherin friends.

"Rolf, Harry, Harper, go into my trunk and get Pudgins and Scout," Newt asked.

"Oh, this will be good," Harry said as Rolf went over to Newt's trunk – it was one like Harry's, that you could go into, only Newt set it up as a convenient way to transport magical creatures. Inside were various habitats for different creatures; Newt's own personal sanctuary for various creatures he still travelled the world to find, being how he got creatures from other countries to his reserves.

Rolf was first in the trunk, followed by Harry who jumped in. Harper was a bit more careful as she went inside, the three disappearing into the seemingly small suitcase.

"What do you think they will bring out?" Neville asked Hermione.

"Could be anything," Hermione said, her eyes darting between Newt and the suitcase.

Rolf was the first to appear out of the trunk holding a blue bird that looked like a Dodo. Harry was next with another one in his hands, while Harper was last out and she had a snake around her neck.

"Very good Harry, Rolf… Harper why did you take a Ashwinder?" Newt asked.

"I talked to her on our way to catch those two and now she refuses to leave the speaker," Harper said. Newt gave Harper a look. "…fine, I'll get her to go back." Harper went back into the trunk and appeared a minute later without the snake. "She was not happy."

"Now, Harry, Rolf, released the two," Newt instructed, and the two boys put the birds down. They started to run around the students and then disappeared and appeared at certain spots. "Don't be scared. They are harmless. They don't attack. And yes, they have an ability to disappear and reappear – very similar to apparating. Does anyone, but Harry and Harper, know what creatures these two are?" Hermione's hand went up right away. "Yes, Ms…?"

"Granger," Hermione said.

"Oh, you're Hermione Granger," Newt said, making Hermione blush. "Please enlighten the class."

"They… they are Diricawls, or known in the muggle world as Dodo birds," Hermione said. "Muggles believe they went extinct a long time ago to their ability to vanish in one location and reappear in another."

"Very, good, Hagrid, I believe Ravenclaw deserves some house points," Newt said, and Hagrid agreed, giving Hermione 10 points for the correct answer. "Now, like I said there is very little danger from them, so feel free to pet them – but please be careful. If they feel they are in danger even the most docile creatures can become a danger."

The rest of that class was Newt giving facts about Diricawls as the student pet them and tried to catch them. No one was able to pick the two up, but several students got to pet them.

"I believe class is almost over. Harry, Harper, Rolf, get the two," Newt said and the three took a moment running around before Harper got one and Harry the other. "Very good, Hagrid if you could give both Slytherin and Gryffindor 5 points for being my assistants today," with that, Hagrid agreed right away.

"Now," Newt said. "I have some business in and around Hogwarts so for the next few weeks; I will be leaving Pudgin and Scout in Hagrid's and your class's care. If they are very well taken care of I might give another interesting creature for you all to study. Since you have a Parselmouth in the class, maybe we can see about letting that Ashwinder out." Newt gave Harper a wink.

"Class, thank Mr. Scamander," Hagrid said and most of the students did as Harry and Harper brought the two Diricawls to a pen that Newt conjured with a wave of his wand – Harry and Harper knowing this was a special pen that stopped the birds from disappearing beyond it.

Harper noticed that the two had lost a couple of tailfeathers in their play with the class, and Harry picking them up when his sister pointed at them. Newt then told Harry and Harper to wait with Rolf and they indicated Hermione and Neville to wait with them. Several of their classmates came up to say hi to Newt and shake his hand after that.

"Ron," Harry said, after Ron was done talking to Newt. He held up the feathers he had retrieved. "Diricawl feathers make excellent wand cores – and I think Fred and George could do with not having to use their uncle's wands anymore," Fred and George were currently using Molly Weasley's late brothers' wands, which had worked surprisingly well for them, but Ron had them test some of his, but none had chosen them.

"Thanks," Ron said, taking the feathers with a smile and running off.

When all the class was gone and Hagrid was checking on the two Diricawls, Newt signaled for the group to follow him and Rolf took the trunk, moving off so Hagrid was out of earshot.

"So, Hermione and Neville," Newt said, and Neville gave a nod. Newt and Neville hadn't officially met in class, but Neville had made himself known anyway. "The Fab Four, I believe?" The group had to giggle at their nickname.

"What are you doing here?" Harper asked.

"Yeah, what business?" Harry asked.

"Well, it's not good I am afraid. Early in the year there was an incident with a Hippogriff named Buckbeak and a boy, Draco Malfoy, son of the infamous Lucius Malfoy," Newt explained, making the four students' groan. "Well, Lucius Malfoy had been kicking up a fuss, but with Dumbledore using his political powers to try to help Sirius… well, unfortunately, it got to the Wizengamot. Hagrid is being brought up on child endangerment charges and Buckbeak as a danger. If they were to lose, Hagrid would not only lose his job here at Hogwarts but be sent back to Azkaban and Buckbeak would lose his life. I am here to give my expert opinion on the temperament of the Hippogriff. I brought Rolf to see my old school and get some hands-on experience."

"I… I can't believe it," Hermione said; the four had known that since the attack, Hagrid had been different, but no one had let them know how bad this had become.

"What are the chances here?" Harper had to ask.

"Not so good," Newt said. "Lucius Malfoy has a lot of influence at the Ministry of Magic. I will offer to remove Buckbeak from Hogwarts and transfer him to one of my reserves, but laws in this country regarding creatures are not the most forward thinking. As for Hagrid, it's anyone guess."

"How is the Wizengamot selected?" Harry asked. "Who is on it? How exactly does British wizard government work? Do they have elections like us? What exactly is it? I thought it was like our Congress but now seems to be a court."

"Calm down, Harry," Rolf stated to his sudden interrogation.

"But to answer some of your questions, it's both, technically," Newt explained. "You won't see an election like the ones in America or even Muggle Britain," Newt explained. "The Wizengamot selects the Minister of Magic. As for how to get on the Wizengamot, there are three ways: First and the oldest way to get on it is through inheriting the position."

"Old pure blood families," Harper mused. "Not our allies."

"Some are," Neville said. "My house has a seat. My grandma currently sits in it. I could write to her, see if she will voice on our side." Harry put an arm around Neville's shoulder at this.

"The second way is the seat coming with the job," Newt said. "Prime example of this is Amelia Bones holds a seat with her job as Head of the Law department."

"And the third way?" Harper asked.

"The newest way, very minorities are elected officials," Newt said. "Muggle-borns and Half-bloods demanded having a say and the Wizengamot and Ministry made elected seats. Mostly young muggle borns and half-bloods are in these seats."

"So, people we can sway," Harper said and Harry liked the look in her eyes. "Neville can't be the only person we know whose parents or grandparents have seats. We already know Susan's aunt has a seat."

"Get to them through their kids," Rolf said getting the idea.

"And the elected officials have to take into consideration public opinion. We get the true story out, turn opinion away from the Malfoys, then we get them. We get enough of the inherited seats and the ones who got seats from jobs, we can get Hagrid off and free Buckbeak," Harper said. "But we're going to have to start this now."

"Lunch just started. Everyone will be in the Great Hall," Hermione spoke up.

"Okay, we'll get to the Great Hall and have a meeting at the Hufflepuff table. Get all our friends and explain what's going on," Harper said and could see Hermione, Harry, and Neville agreement, "Rolf, come with us."

"Grandpa?" Rolf asked.

"Go," Newt said. "You need to see more of the castle, and this is a good way to it." Rolf grinned at that, and the five teens ran towards the castle.

"I did promise Tim I would check out this boy," Newt said to no one but himself. "But let them plot a government upheaval first." Newt gave himself a chuckle, finding the entire thing hilarious and really hoping four 13-year-olds managed to beat Lucius Malfoy at his own game.

….

The Fab Four, plus Rolf, paused as they went into the Great Hall.

"Neville, take Rolf to the Hufflepuff table," Harry said. "I'll grab our Gryffindor friends and head there."

"I'll get a couple from Ravenclaw," Hermione said.

"I'll get our Slytherin friends. Mione, make sure to get Luna and Harry get Colin," Harper said, the two giving her a look, but gave a nod.

The group split up and went their ways, Harper easily finding Daphne and Tracey.

"Daphne, does your family have a seat on the Wizengmot?" Harper asked.

"Yeah, why?" Daphne asked back.

"Is your father friends with Lucius Malfoy?" Harper continued, not explaining her question to her friend.

"Not really friends… but they have sided with each other," Daphne said.

"But he would listen to you and your sister above him, right?" Harper asked.

"Yes. Harper what is going on?" Daphne asked.

"Go to the Hufflepuff table and find out. Tracey, you too," Harper said.

"My family doesn't have a seat," Tracey pointed out, catching on fast.

"You might be able to help in another way. Just please," Harper said and the two looked at each other but got up, heading for the Hufflepuff table. "Edward?" Harper found the first year with some other first years, "follow me." Edward jumped away from his friend and followed Harper to the Hufflepuff table.

When Harper got to the Hufflepuff table, Hermione and Harry were back. Hermione was only able to grab Padma and Luna while Harry had gotten all the Weasleys except Percy, along with Dean, Seamus, Colin, Astoria Greengrass, and even Oliver Wood and some of the others from Gryffindor's Quidditch team. Cedric and Susan were sitting with Neville and Rolf as the only Hufflepuffs in the group.

"Maybe we should have done this at the Gryffindor table," Harper mumbled, only having said Hufflepuff because that was where they were going to seat for lunch anyway and now most of their number seemed to Gryffindors.

Cedric put an arm around Harper and got her to sit next to him.

"What's going on?" Fred asked.

"Hagrid and Buckbeak are in trouble," Harry explained. "Long story short, after Buckbeak's attack of Draco last year, Lucius Malfoy is on the warpath and wants Hagrid sent to Azkaban and Buckbeak to be killed for attacking Draco. We all know Draco provoked the Hippogriff and his injuries were healed in no time by Madam Pomphrey, but Lucius Malfoy is out for blood and it's his influence on this Wizengamot thing that's making it happen."

"That's awful," Susan said.

"And that's why you asked me about my dad's seat," Daphne realized, looking to Harper. "You want me and Astoria to get him on Hagrid and Buckbeak's side."

"We're lobbying," Harper said and noticed the look. "It's a term… you know what, forget it. We're trying to influence the way the vote goes. Neville has already agreed to talk to his grandma. Daphne and Astoria, will you talk to your dad?"

"Yes," both girls said.

"Susan, your aunt?" Neville added.

"I'll write her," Susan said with a nod, "but I'm sure she'll agree. She hates the Malfoys, especially Lucius who's always trying to step all over her."

"Good," Harper nodded.

"Our family doesn't have a seat but our dad works for the Ministry. Maybe he can try to talk to some people?" George added, Ron giving a nod at this.

"What about MC? She has random friends everywhere," Fred asked. "Might be worth a quick letter to her."

"We can contact dad too," Edward said, and Cedric gave a nod to his brother.

"He has a seat through his job," Cedric added. "And is Head of the Magical Creature Department, so definitely would be helpful as this is his field."

"My grandfather is assessing Buckbeak, but having more than one person do an assessment could be helpful," Rolf said.

"Okay, who is he?" Cedric asked of the older boy.

"Oh, this is Rolf Scamander," Harry said as eyes turned to Rolf for a moment as he waved.

"Newt's grandson?" Luna was the one to ask this, having been silent until now.

"The very same," the boy smiled at Luna who didn't remove her eyes from the young man, but the conversation moved quickly back to topic as Harry continued.

"Anyone who might know anyone with a seat?" Harry asked. "Any friends you have here with a seat get them to talk to their parents. We need to get the word around."

"And the real story to the public. Which is where Luna and Colin come in," Harper said. "Luna, your dad has a magazine. Would he agree to print an article written by one of us?"

"Absolutely," Luna said, forcing her eyes off Rolf. "Although he's currently deep in the topic of the Dingle-hopping Tuber."

"Dingle-hopping what?" Rolf asked the girl.

"No offense, but the Quibbler doesn't exactly fly off the shelves," this was Oliver Wood who said it, stopping Luna from answering Rolf's question, but many agreed.

"This is where Colin comes in. A picture of Harry Potter with Buckbeak on the cover should get people to pick it up," Harper said.

"Wait, what?" Harry asked, turning to his sister.

"Harry, it's time to use your fame," Harper sighed. "What do you think Colin? Photo session with Harry and a magical creature?" Harper asked.

"Heck yes!" Colin said and Harper noticed the look Harry gave her but also knew he would go for it.

"Now we just need someone to write the article," Neville said.

"Mione?" Harper asked.

"Actually, I think I should," Tracey said. "I wasn't in the class so it would be more unbiased."

"I agree," Hermione said.

"Okay, Tracey," Harper said with a nod. "We will spread the word, get as many people as we can. We'll beat Malfoy."

"On three," Harry said, putting his hand into the middle of the table, Harper putting hers on top. The others paused, unsure what to do but after a look from both Harper and Harry, they began to put their hands in the center of the table.

"Three, two, one… Save Buckbeak!" Harper and Harry chanted, the other following suit as they raised their stacked hands out and cheered.

….

Minerva McGonagall was at the Teacher's Table, eating her lunch but her eyes went to the large group at the Hufflepuff table. "Albus, do you think this should concern us?"

"I am unsure," Albus Dumbledore remarked, his eyes on the table as well but had to pause as the group called 'Save Buckbeak' as they threw their hands up in the air. The old Headmaster gave a smile. "No… I don't think we should be concerned at all. And by the sounds of it, it seems Draco Malfoy's father should be more concerned."

"Albus?" Minerva asked at this.

"I think we need to talk. My office this evening, it's about Rubeus," Albus stated.

"I think I can guess what exactly about," Minerva mused as she continued to watch the students, some now leaving the Hufflepuff table to head back to their tables, or out of the Great Hall in general.

-Harry Potter-

It was a few days later when Harry, Harper, and Neville were in the library. Dobby the House Elf was with them – being Professor Dumbledore's personal House Elf, he had more freedom to help compared to the rest of the Hogwarts House Elves and Professor Dumbledore had conveniently given him a freer schedule for the next few weeks, so the House Elf was happily helping Harry and his friends.

Harry handed Dobby a poster. "You know where to hang it," Harry said.

"Of course, Master Harry," Dobby said with a smile and popped out.

"That House Elf is starting to grow on me," Harry remarked; Dobby had been very helpful hanging 'Save Buckbeak' posters and even enchanting them so Filtch could not remove them. "And Colin said he got a lot of great pictures of us," Harry had gotten Harper, Hermione, and Neville to agree to do pictures as well with him, "and Tracey almost has the article done and Luna said her dad is waiting to print."

"And I got to give the Weasleys credit on these buttons," Harper said as she looked down at her own button. It was a badge with the wording switched 'Save Buckbeak and free Hagrid' to 'The Malfoys suck'. Of course, being American, Harper and Harry called them buttons while the rest of the school were calling them badges.

"Nearly all of Gryffindor is wearing them," Harry smirked.

"And Hufflepuff thanks mostly to Cedric," Neville said. "But recruitment in Ravenclaw and Slytherin are down."

"Edward managed to get a lot of first years on our side and I got some, but Slytherin will be hard," Harper reasoned, and the two gave a nod. "And I never realized how few friends we had in Ravenclaw…" while most of the third year of the Ravenclaws were on their side, it was hard getting others.

"So, Rolf is going home today, right?" Neville asked.

"Yeah, Newt's got to bring him back to school. But Newt will be back," Harry said.

Before anyone could say anything else, Hermione appeared, taking a seat and had books in her hands.

"I've got interesting news and good news," Hermione stated.

"That's an interesting way to put it," Harper remarked.

"I have been looking into what families have seats in the Wizengmot and both Potter and Black have a seat," Hermione explained, and Harry raised an eyebrow as Hermione opened one of the books. "The Potter seat has been vacant since your grandfather. You're the only Potter left and since you're not of age, you can't fill it, but you are old enough to name a proxy. Usually, an underaged heir naming a proxy would be a blood relative, but since you have no Potter blood relatives and your only blood relatives are American, you can name someone else."

"My grandmother," Neville said. "She's already stated her support for both Hagrid and Buckbeak and Longbottom and Potter have been allies for a long time. You'd give her a second vote."

"What about the Black seat?" Harry asked, giving a smirk.

"That's where it gets trickier. Sirius is still considered Lord Black but obviously he can't have the seat. Currently Lucius Malfoy has been proxy for the Black seat," Hermione stated, and Harry's hands went into a fist. "But I sent my owl Warwick to that goblin who takes care of your accounts and he confirmed and sent proof that your parents and Sirius legally made Sirius a sort of third parent. This way, in the event Sirius never had children, you would be his legal heir. You're the official heir to the House of Black."

"So, what does this mean?" Harry asked, looking over the papers Hermione now handed him.

"It means you can state Malfoy does not represent you as heir and move the proxy to someone else in the Black family. It took a while, but I managed to dig up a Black family tree and look," Hermione said opening a book and turning it around to show Harry. Her finger leading the three to the name: Nymadora Tonks.

"Tonks is a Black?" Harper asked.

"I thought she was disowned," Neville mused.

"When her mother, Andromeda Black, married a Muggle-born, they cut her off but never officially disowned her. You can name either Tonks or her mom as proxy to the House of Black," Hermione explained. "I already wrote out the letter. All it needs is your signature and then we can give it to Hedwig to deliver to the Minister for Magic."

Harry didn't waste a second signing the letter and folded it up and stood up. Lucy, who had been under the table, followed her master and the three had to run, grabbing their bookbags and books to keep up with Harry as he practically sprinted all the way to the Owlery with the others in tow.

"Get this to the Minister of Magic as fast as you can girl," Harry said, once he reached the Owlery and found Hedwig, tying the letter to her leg and his trusted owl flew off.

"Well, Hermione that was good news," Harper said, taking deep breaths as she gave Lucy a pet to calm her down and stop her from barking at the owls.

"Oh, that wasn't my good news. That was all under the interesting category," Hermione said, catching her breath too, making all three look to her. "The good news is I figured out the clue."

"When did you have time for all this?" Neville asked, not as out of breath as the rest, but was shocked as Hermione showed them the Vault Book. It was finally updated, and the book said they could go for the key whenever they wanted.

"You up to doing this now Mone?" Harry asked and Hermione gave a smile and a nod. It seemed they were ready for the Ravenclaw Key's task.

-Harry Potter-

Ron had one over to Fred and George, who were at the Gryffindor table passing out their badges.

"Fred, George, I've got something for you," Ron said making the twins look to Ron, who took out the two wands.

"I made them specially for you, with feathers from Pudgins and Scout," Ron said – the two Diricawls had become a hit at the school, and many students had gone down to Hagrid's hut to see them. "Fred, this is yours and it's important it goes to the actual Fred." He knew how often his brothers pretended to be each other.

"That'll be me," Fred said, and the look on his face told Ron he was not lying. Ron held out the wand and he gave it a wave. To Fred' surprise, a glow came around him and the wand showing it had chosen him. Ron grinned widely.

"And George…" Ron said, and George eagerly took the other wand as well, getting the same result as his brother.

Ron felt proud he had been able to make a wand for a certain person – and that the wands worked. He had been sending letters to Mr. Olivander lately, requesting information on how exactly to make a wand for a certain person – his intention was getting a wand right for him, which he hadn't had success with yet.

"Well, thanks Ron," the twins said, giving Ron a hug.

"I guess we'll send our old wands back to mum," Fred said.

"She'll be glad to have something physical to remember uncles Gideon and Fabian now," George added, before running off themselves.

Ron smirked as well as he yelled out a 'you're welcome', agreeing with the remark about his late uncles.

Mr Olivander had also given him tips on how to make fancy designs on the wands to make them look better, which he had tried out on the twins wands – sneakily putting an 'F' in the design on Fred's wand and a 'G' on George's wand. They would never be able to trick Ron again, changing names.

-Harry Potter-

Minister Cornelius Fudge had been having such a good day until the white owl showed up and demanded he take the letter. The letter made Fudge's best day turn into his worst. He had to call in Dolores Umbridge, his senior undersecretary, and Amelia Bones herself to investigate the claim the letter had further. Delores seemed as upset as him over the content, but Madam Bones seemed amused.

"I've looked it up officially," Madam Bones said after consulting with their archives, "and Harry Potter is the legal heir to both House Potter and House Black. He has the right to name his own proxy for the seats."

"But he's an American!" Dolores countered.

"He has joint citizenship with America and Britain, true, but there are other members who have joint citizenship with countries like France or other European countries. It doesn't take away his rights," Amelia reasoned.

"Giving the Potter seat to Longbottom is no big deal," Fudge said, "but the Black seat… Lucius, will throw a fit."

"It doesn't matter. You can't deny the rights of the real heir and you also can't deny Lucius Malfoy and Harry Potter would not see eye to eye. At the next meeting of the Wizengamot, either Andromeda Tonks or Nymphadora Tonks must be sitting in that seat," Amelia said. "Nymphadora is a Junior Auror here. I can have a word with her while you contact Lucius and let him know."

Cornelius Fudge made a face but gave a nod, knowing his legal hands were tied in this matter. "I'll go tell Lucius in person," Fudge sighed, knowing he had to have a conversation with the man.

Amelia Bones gave a nod and then left heading to her own office, glad to be away from the Minister and his toad-like undersecretary. Once back to her office, she asked her assistant to get Junior Auror Tonks to her office.

It wasn't long before the young woman entered. "Is something wrong, Madam Bones?" Tonks asked, her pink hair even more vibrant today.

"Yes and no," Amelia Bones mused. "It seems when young Harry Potter was, born Sirius Black and James Potter set it up so that if Sirius were to have no children, Harry would be his heir," Tonks raised an eyebrow not quite seeing the connection. "It made Harry Potter the heir to the House of Black. He has requested a new proxy for his seat in the Wizengamot."

"Okay," Tonks stated, frowning.

"You, Tonks," Amelia chuckled now. She didn't always call Tonks by her preferred name, which was her last name, but in personal matters she was happy to go more informal.

"Me?" Tonks asked.

"Well, you or your mother," Amelia countered. "It's your choice, but Tonks I need a sounding board and I need someone who will not tell anyone what is said in this room. I know of how you helped the Curse Breaker of Hogwarts while in school. Can I trust you?"

"Of course, ma'am," Tonks said.

"Sirius Black is supposed to be you-know-who's greatest and most loyal follower. Why then would he have named Harry his heir? He should want Malfoy to get everything in the event he is not there," Amelia had been musing this since the meeting with Cornelius.

"Maybe he thought it wouldn't matter since Harry would be dead and it was a way to keep appearances?" Tonks mused.

"Tonks, this only works if you're honest," Amelia sighed.

"Oh. Well, my mom has always been… a bit suspicious of Sirius suddenly being a loyal Black," Tonks said. "Apparently, he was her favorite cousin. The two got along with similar views for muggles and muggle-borns. He always resented his mother's views and the whole pure blood first thing."

"Well, Harry's adopted father, Timothy Evans, has shown that Sirius Black never got a trial," Amelia continued. "And Albus Dumbledore is using as many contacts as he can to try to get the Dementor's Kiss on Sight order lifted. They know something we don't. And we can't just ask them. Junior Auror Tonks, I am giving you your first solo mission," Amelia Bones took out a file as Tonks grinned at the idea of a solo mission. "Everything on Sirius Black. I want you to reinvestigate. Talk to witnesses to the killings, turn over every stone. I want – no I need – the truth."

"Yes ma'am," Tonk said, taking the file, knowing it was time to leave the office.

Post Chapter Note: Well, well, well, I hope you enjoy this. Things are heating up and now that the Prank War is over, things are getting serious… or should I say, Sirius? Hehe.

Karry Master OUT!
