Chapter two

Donkey Kong fell through the air. He fell and fell until finally he landed in an old abandoned airplane that was sitting high up in a bunch of trees. Knowing that he was stuck he began to smash the plane from the inside. He kept punching it until the front of it ripped off and fell out of the tree. It knocked on the branches of other trees and after a while, reached the ground. Then Donkey Kong tore the top off and leaped out of it, like nothing had happened.
"Where am I...? And where are the others?" Donkey asked himself. Donkey quickly recapped what had just happened. He remembered seeing a bunch of ships and next thing he knew, he was blown off of the island. Then he realised he had no idea where he was. He began to study where he was.
He was standing on a yellow-orangish path and there were leaves everywhere. The trees were not only enormous but they were also twisted and not straight, kind of like a line drawn by a 2 year old. "I have to get back to Kongo Bongo... and find the others!" Donkey Kong exclaimed.
He started to run into this unusual forest. But came to a halting stop when the path curved and turned into a waterfall. The water seemed to be coming out of a strange tree trunk. Donkey Kong stepped forward a bit and peered over the edge. It was really steep. "I'll have to go down this waterfall very carefu-" Donkey Kong was cut off when he accidentally stepped on a banana peel just lying there and slipped. Down the waterfall.
The big ape yelped in terror as he slid down the waterfall. He was extremely lucky that the river below was quite deep. He landed with a huge splash in the water. Some Blue Finley's who had been swimming around peacefully, were startled by Donkey Kong's sudden appearance and swam away as if they were being chased by a shark (which Donkey thought was odd because he didn't look like a shark...right?).
Donkey Kong swam for a bit until he saw a rock ledge. Quickly as possible, he climbed onto the ledge, glad to be out of the water. He sat there for a moment when he saw a Dozy walking towards him. The dodo bird didn't seem to notice Donkey Kong at first, and kept walking to wherever he was going, but when he did notice Donkey he didn't seem to care and just kept going. Donkey Kong decided to ask it some questions. "Uh hi." He said. Dozy looked up at him.
"I have a question... where am I?" "Oh that's easy. Your in the Lost Mangroves. That's the name of this island." Dozy answered. Sounds like the name of an ancient temple or something. Donkey Kong thought. "Well, have you seen any other monkeys around here?" He asked. Dozy thought for a while. "No... I don't think so." "Oh, well thanks anyway." Donkey sighed. He decided to keep going.
Donkey Kong came across a higher ledge, that seemed almost impossible to get up to by jumping. Then he noticed some bushes being held up by strong tree branches. Maybe if I climb those I can get up! He thought. Donkey Kong leaped onto the bushes and easily got up to the ledge. That's quite handy. I'll keep in mind that the bushes here are climbable.
Before Donkey Kong could go any further, a big Punchy Paddy suddenly leaped onto him. Donkey let out a startled yelp, before realising that Punchy Paddy was just a grasshopper. He picked up Punchy Paddy and threw him away, as if he were just a bucket of old tin cans that nobody wanted.
Donkey Kong noticed something quite interesting. He could see that not far in the distance there was a ship. It was old and rusted and looked like it had been shipwrecked. I wonder who that ship belonged to... Donkey Kong thought. And he didn't notice the giant Venus Trap that was right above his head.
Suddenly, the Venus Trap launched itself at Donkey Kong, attempting to swallow him whole. Donkey Kong only noticed at the last second and managed to leap out of the way just in time for the Venus Trap to miss him. "Damn, this place is a lot more dangerous than I thought..." he said.
Donkey Kong soon came across another ledge. This time there were no bushes. He noticed a small plug and instantly grew curious. Without thinking, he grabbed the plug and yanked it until it came out of the ground. Then the two metal platforms went flat, enough for him to get to the top of the ledge. "Hmm, wonder how that works." He inquired.
Donkey Kong had been walking for a while, not even sure where he was going, but soon came to a dead end. "Oh don't tell me I came all this way for nothing." He growled. Then he noticed another small plug on the ground. So of course he pulled it. When it came out of the ground, the tree branches smashed as well as the metal and created an opening for Donkey Kong. Slowly he entered the place and almost immediately spotted another Venus Trap.
That's when he saw the leaf mane on the Venus Trap's neck. It looked just like the bushes he had climbed before. "Well, it wont be as easy to climb on that thing but it's worth a shot!" He said with a sigh. As soon as the Venus Trap sensed Donkey Kong it sprang down and opened its enormous mouth to show rows of sharp teeth. With amazing speed, Donkey Kong leaped onto the leaf mane and clung onto it. Luckily for him, the Venus Trap didn't notice him and went back up. Then Donkey Kong jumped onto the metal floor next to him.
He had to make a couple of big jumps, avoiding brambles with sharp prickles (and it was annoying because the metal kept breaking and almost sent DK flying onto the brambles). Then he came to ANOTHER dead end. Before he could rage, the floor suddenly opened and, once again, fell into the river.
He could see a couple of Wild Wendells swimming quite peacefully. He could also see these weird spring thingies. He used them to get back ro la d and get back on track. He passed more Dozys and a Sour Dodo tried to trample him for no reason at all so Donkey Kong just jumped on him, anyway, he soon came across another plug. He looked out to the distance. There seemed to be nothing but water for miles. Then he pulled the plug. And what happened was amazing.
A tree that had been very small before, suddenly shot out of the ground as fast as a bullet, getting bigger and bigger as it went. Soon it was big enough that it looked like someone could fit an elephant in it! Donkey Kong noticed a barrel on the side of the tree and climbed into it. He went from barrel, flying around the enormous tree. Then he was shot so far that he bounced on other small trees, then crashed into a small Viking boat.
He looked around and realised there was... a lot of Viking boats. Then he remembered that they looked like the ones that had taken over Kongo Bongo Island. While he was still deep in thought, a Viking boat paddled quickly towards the shore. Then it crashes on the ground, sending a couple of penguins flying. When they got back to their feet, they first thing they noticed was Donkey Kong.
"There he is! Get him!" One of them yelled. The penguins suddenly charged at Donkey Kong. Donkey was confused. Who were these guys and what did they want with him? He didn't have time to think about it and attacked the penguins. After a few minutes he managed to make them scream like a little girl and ran away. I'll find out more about them and what they want with me as I go on. Donkey thought. Then he kept going.
Soon he came across and very innocent looking crate. He was about to walk past it, when a big walrus burst out of it. Donkey Kong rushed out of the way, just so the walrus didn't see him. He was so done fighting for today. When he thought it was safe he kept going, dodging some spikes that were for some reason on the ground. Why do adventures have to be so hard?
After a while, Donkey Kong saw something golden and shiny on the ground. He touched it lightly, wondering what it was, and a small sound was heard. Donkey Kong looked up, confused. He hit it harder. A bigger noise. Then he hit it as hard as he could. A nearby Viking ship exploded. He hit it over and over, breaking all but one Viking ships that were there. Then he climbed into a nearby barrel and it shot him towards the last Viking ship.
Donkey Kong landed right on the edge of the ship and due to his weight, the entire ship toppled over, sending all the penguins that had been on it flying and landed into the ocean. Donkey Kong laughed a bit. "Who knew making ships explode would be so fun?"
