"A few weeks had passed, since I had met Kushina. Ever since then, we have became real close. An item, if you would call it, that."
Two kids were roaming through the halls of the Konoha Shinobi Academy-heading to class on a normal sunny day. One kid had short black hair and his name was Akira Uchiha. And the other kid had long red hair and her name was Kushina Uzumaki. They had walked next to each other, side-to-side and were in happy moods. Akira had carried a few books, while Kushina had a happy smile on her face.
A few kids that had stood and roamed through the hallway had noticed Akira and Kushina walking together like a young couple. Some kids thought it was cute. Other kids thought it was weird and some kids didn't like Kushina for both being a foreigner and a girl that beats up kids.
Both Akira and Kushina had heard chattering from other kids as they roamed the further and further within the hallways. Akira would keep his eyes forward, while Kushina would annoyingly glare at some kids that either stare, negatively or secretly talk bad about them. Some of those kids were their own classmates.
One of the kids that were walking within the hall was Minato Namikaze. He did not say a word as he watched them pass. He felt a bit bummed out.
"I could hear people chatting all around me. Saying rude and hurtful things about me and Kushina-like how the other kids were saying that I was an idiot for befriending and hanging out with an "outsider" or a "freak" like Kushina. But, I didn't let the other kid's words stop me from enjoying my day. I was having fun with my new friend, Kushina-and that's that. Until..."
Later That Day...
Half an hour after Academy hours had ended, Akira Uchiha and Kushina Uzumaki spent their time hanging out together in a field filled with blooming Cherry Blossom trees. They were seemingly having a happy time, just walking around as pink petals danced.
"Thank you for spending time with me, today, Akira." Kushina had smiled.
Akira had smiled at Kushina. "I'm really happy hanging out with my friends. And besides, I should be the one thanking YOU for spending time with me."
Kushina giggled. "Why is that?"
"Well, I never really hang out with any girls-other than my mom." Akira said, which made Kushina laugh. "And besides. This is one of my favorites spot to hang out at. Especially, during springtime..." Both Akira and Kushina had looked up and watched Cherry Blossom petals fall from the tree branches.
Kushina had smiled. "Mine, too."
"You've been here, before?" Akira had asked, Kushina.
"I have, you know. Just a day after I had arrived to the village. To me, this is the sweetest place in the world." Kushina had a smile and a small blush on her face as she watched Cherry Blossom petals dance.
"Yeah. It is a sweet place." Akira had smiled at petals.
"Kushina and I were having a great time inside the Cherry Blossom forest, until we were met by some... unwanted company."
Akira Uchiha and Kushina Uzumaki had suddenly stopped when they had suddenly saw a boy dressed in a green shirt and brown pants, fair masculine skin, short black hair and a pair of black eyes. He hid from behind a tree and suddenly walked from behind it as soon as he heard Akira and Kushina's voices.
"Eh?" Kushina had stared at her classmate. "It's you..." Kushina said in a not happy tone.
Akira had stared at the boy and recognized him as one of his classmates. "Hm? Kaji? What you doing here?" Akira had silently gasped to himself when he saw someone else.
Suddenly, another person had appeared behind Kaji. A boy that seemed two feet taller and had worn dark green pants, a yellow shirt, purple neckerchief and a blue Shinobi headband. He also had short spiky black hair and a pair of black eyes.
Akira and Kushina just simply stared at the older boy.
"Are you two the ones who made my kid brother cry?" The older boy had crossed his arms and approached Akira and Kushina.
'Wait, that's his older brother?' Akira had asked.
'That's because he's always messing with us, ya know!' Kushina had pointed at Kaji in her and Akira's defense.
Akira had stared at Kaji's older brother. 'Wait, did Kaji bring his older brother... just to handle us?'
"And this guy is such a wimp! One minute, he's picking on Akira-and on the next, he's acting like a crybaby when I get involved!" Kushina yelled as she kept pointing at Kaji.
Kaji had suddenly dug his hands into his pockets and looked away from his brother.
Akira had gasped. 'Oh no! Why did you say that, Kushina? Kaji's brother is probably going to want to beat us up!' He felt scared for himself and Kushina.
Kaji's brother had then pointed at his own headband. "I'm a Genin. Cool, right?"
Kushina had gasped.
'That's right. He is a Genin! Which means, he has more experience as a Shinobi than both Kushina and I-as we are still in the Academy.' Akira had thought as he stared at the headband of Kaji's brother. He gulped.
Kaji's brother had then cracked his knuckles, preparing for a fight. "I have to teach anyone who bullies my kid brother a lesson. Even if one of them is a girl."
Kushina had frowned as she had prepared for the worst case scenario.
Suddenly...
"We're so sorry!"
"Huh?" Kaji's brother had suddenly stopped as he looked down. And so did Kaji.
Kushina gasped as she had looked downward. She saw Akira planting his head on the ground, face first. He was groveling before the two brothers. "Please, don't hurt Kushina... she was just trying to protect me."
Kushina had gasped when she saw Akira pleading and groveling. 'Akira?'
"We didn't mean to cause any trouble with you and your family. I promise you, that it won't happen, again! You can beat me up as much as you want, but please, let Kushina go!" Akira had begged.
Kaji and his older brother had just stared at Akira's groveling body.
Kushina had a shocked look on her face as she stared at Akira's back.
"Groveling was the only thing that I could do. What choice did I have? I didn't like violence and I didn't want to start violence, then. Especially, in a place that I liked."
Kaji's brother had stared down at Akira and thought for a second. "Alright. But, maybe just this once..."
Akira had silently gasped. 'R-really? He's letting us go?'
"But just on once condition..." Kaji's brother raised his left index finger. "She has to grovel before me, as well!" He pointed his left index at Kushina.
Kushina had gasped.
Akira's eyes widened in shock as his face was panted in the dirt.
"That way, all your crimes against my brother will be forgiven." Kaji's brother smirked.
"What? I'm not groveling for the likes of you!" Kushina had lashed out to Kaji's brother.
"You have no choice. Either do what I say or I'll beat you to a pulp." Kaji's brother had replied.
Kushina had stared at Kaji's brother, who openly smirked in front of her. Then, she looked at Akira, whom was still groveling. Then, back to Kaji's. She had openly sighed for a second, before... "Go screw yourself, ya know!" Kushina had flashed her right middle finger directly in front of Kaji's brother.
Akira had gasped, then quickly shot his head up and looked to see Kushina giving Kaji's brother the rude finger. "K-Kushina!" He said in shock, then looked to Kaji's older brother.
Kaji's brother had stared for a moment, before Kaji's brother had growled, irritatingly. "Okay, you freak. You just asked for a double beating!" He cracked his knuckles again, then had decided to throw a right punch toward her face.
Kushina had gasped when as she saw a right hook being launched directly at her face. But before the fist could collide with her soft cheeks... Kushina could feel herself being pushed to the ground.
Kaji and his older brother had gasped when the right hook that Kaji's older brother had swung had only punched air. He did not feel his fist collide with Kushina's face.
"Huh?" Kaji's brother had looked to his fist. He had then looked down to his left, ten o'clock and saw... Akira pinning Kushina's body to the ground, like he was using his body as a human shield. "What the-"
Kushina's body was lying on the ground and she stared at Akira's body whom was over hers. 'What? How did I get on the-' Kushina's eyes had looked at Akira's body from lower waist to his face. And when she saw his face... She had gasped, surprisingly. "A... Akira?" Kushina had looked and stared into Akira's eyes. "Your eyes... they're-"
Akira Uchiha's pupils were gleaming a blood red color with at least one black tomoe within both pairs of his eyes.
Sharingan
Akira had gasped as he could no see chakra with his eyes and could read body language. 'My eyes! They... they're completely different, now.' He thought to himself.
'What are they doing?' Kaji had asked as he stared at Kushina and Akira.
"That's right. I had awakened the Sharingan, then and there. I was so scared of Kushina getting hurt-that something had just snapped inside of me."
Both Kaji and his brother had stared at both Akira and Kushina whom were on the ground. They stared, weirdly.
Suddenly... Akira had removed himself from atop of Kushina and slowly stood up. He then slowly turned his head directly toward Kaji's older brother. He had then looked to both Kaji and his brother.
"Please. Just leave us alone." Akira asked, while flashing his Sharingan.
Kaji had silently gasped. 'What's with Akira's eyes?'
Kaji's brother's body had begun to twitch. 'Wait, those eyes... I think I've seen them, before.' He had begun to feel intimidated by looking at Akira's Sharingan.
"I won't ask again." Akira said in a calm manner as he stared at Kaji's brother.
Kaji's brother had hesitated to attack Akira and Kushina after staring at Akira's Sharingan. He gritted his teeth in frustration. After a moment... he turned his back away. "Let's go, Kaji."
Kaji had gasped and looked to his older brother, whom was starting to walk away. "What? But, big bro we still ha-"
"Just do what I tell you!" Kaji's older brother yelled to him.
Kaji had flinched. "Mmph." He looked to both Akira and Kushina that were both staring at them. Then, he looked to his older brother. He gritted his teeth in frustration. "This isn't over!" Kaji yelled to both Akira and Kushina, before following behind his brother.
After the brothers had left their sight, Akira had looked to Kushina. 'Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Kushina told Akira.
"Sorry that I tackled you, like that. I was trying to protect you from that guy's punch." Akira said.
"It's okay. I'm just happy that jerkface isn't bothering us, anymore." Kushina said.
"Hm," Akira smiled at Kushina.
There was total silence between them. Their hair had blown within the spring breeze. Cherry Blossom flower petals had continued to dance around them and fall to the ground.
"Um... Kushina?" Akira had asked.
"Y...yes, Akira?" Kushina had asked in response.
"Um, I was wondering..." Akira had begun to rub his index fingers, together. Nervously. "Do you want to continue enjoying the sights of this forest?" Akira asked in a nervous tone.
Kushina had a small blush on her face. Her mouth had formed a smile. "I'd love to. But first..."
"Hm?" Akira had watched Kushina slowly move approach him. And suddenly... Akira had suddenly felt a pair of lips press against his left cheek. His eyes had widened and a blush had appeared on Akira's cheek.
After a moment, Kushina removed her lips from Akira's cheek and faced him.
"Kushina?" Akira chanted.
Kushina had smiled at Akira. "That's for protecting me. And also... I never said this to anyone, but... I tell a person a certain thing to those who compliment my red hair."
"You do? What's that?" Akira had asked.
Kushina had quickly placed her right index finger on Akira's lips. Shushing him. She had then moved to his left and and whispered something. "I love you."
Akira had heavily blushed as he faced Kushina, again. "R-Really?"
Kushina had happily nodded.
"Well, then... I, uh-" Akira had begun to say with a nervous smile. But was then shushed, again. Not by a single finger... but by a pair of lips. Akira had realized that Kushina Uzumaki was kissing him on the lips. Her eyes were closed and she was enjoying it. Instead of breaking it up, Akira had simply closed his eyes and enjoyed the moment. Inside of Akira's mind, he felt like the big bang had happened and that dozens of new worlds had been created inside of his inner universe. "Thank you for that."
"That was my first ever kiss. Back then, I felt like my world-no. My universe had expanded. Dozens of planets were created and many stars were formed."
After the kiss had broke, they stared at each other again.
"Thank you for that." Akira smiled.
Kushina had chuckled.
"And so, at that moment... Kushina and I had became a real couple. Despite the both of us being less than ten years old. After that, we promised ourselves that we would keep our relationship a secret. Even from our own friends and family."
