A clandestine group of archaeologists discover several mass graves dug in the ground of an abandoned match factory on the outskirts of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The remains found in the graves include some 10,000 skeletons of children aged approximately 4 to 12 years old. Archaeological analysis has determined that the children lived between 1850 and 1890, a period that coincided with Veronica Ashford's management of the factory. Forensic analysis has determined that the children died from starvation, exhaustion, insalubrity and phosphorus poisoning. The Ashford family, who own the land on which the factory sits, have declined to respond to this newspaper.
